Chapter 23: The Birth of Ultron

The Avengers go back to the Stark Tower, now called the Avenger's Tower, and the first thing they do is take Clint to the medical bay. Thor takes the scepter and leaves it in the laboratory where Stark and Banner could study it. Steve walks away with Hill to talk about the Maximoff and their next move, and as for Kokoro... She simple walk away. Not knowing where to be or what to do. She's been lacking purpose and walk aimlessly through the Tower. Meanwhile in the lab, Tony prepare to study the scepter and Dr. Helen Cho, a South Korean woman, was attending Clint. Banner enters the lab and talks with Tony.

"How's he doing?" He asks, very concerned about Clint's condition.

"Unfortunately, he's still Barton" Tony joked and Bruce keeps the joke going.

"That's terrible" He chuckles.

"He's fine. He's just thirsty" Tony walk away. "Have you seen Kokoro?"

"I think she went to the lower floors. Where the Shooting Practice is?" Said Bruce, not so sure of what Kokoro was doing. "I don't know, I lost her for a moment," He said and went to see Clint. Tony let out a sigh and speak to Jarvis.

"Jarvis, I want you to keep an eye on her, record every single of her moves. Where she goes and what she does. Lately, she's giving me a lot of reason to even considering locking her down and throw the damn key... First, she avoids the Psychiatrist and then starts to shut herself from the world. That's not a good sign. If she does something weird let me know"

"Right away, Sir," Said Jarvis.

"Now let's focus on the fun part" He walked toward the scepter. "Look alive, Jarvis. It's playtime. We've only got a couple of days with this joystick, so let's make the most of it. Update me on the structural and compositional analysis" He orders Jarvis and examines the data that he extracted from the Hydra Base.

"The scepter is alien," Said Jarvis. "There are elements I can't quantify"

"So there are elements you can?" Tony asks. "Interesting"

"The jewel appears to be a protective housing for something inside, something powerful" Jarvis explains.

"Like a reactor?" He asks.

"Like a computer" Jarvis correct him. "I believe I'm deciphering code"

"Let's see what we find then..." Tony look through the data and find some interesting files. Hydra's been busy in the last couple of years. "Looks like Hydra had people helping them... But there are no name or any corporation name... They keep them hidden. But it's only a matter of time before I find out who they are" Tony type in his keyboard and try to hack in the encrypted files. Meanwhile, in the next room, Natasha watch how Dr. Cho patch Clint up. The machine where he was laying on top looked like a scanner but in reality was something else, it was treating the wounded area and regenerating the skin and flesh.

"Are you sure he's gonna be okay?" Natasha asks. "Pretending to need this guy really brings the team together"

"There's no possibility of deterioration," Said Dr. Cho. "The nano-molecular functionality is instantaneous. His cells don't know they're bonding with simulacra"

"She's creating tissue," Said Bruce, almost excited by this advanced technology. "It had almost the same principle of the regenerating abilities of the Gods, but slower. If you brought him to my lab, the Regeneration Cradle could do this in 20 minutes" Tony enter the room and make a joke about Clint's condition.

"He's flat-lining. Call it. Time?"

"No, no, no, I'm gonna live forever," Said Clint with a chuckle. "I'm gonna be made of plastic though"

"You'll be made of you, Mr. Barton. Your own girlfriend won't be able to tell the difference" Said Cho.

"I don't have a girlfriend" Clint replied

"That I can't fix" Cho rolled her eyes and look at Tony. "This is the next thing, Tony. Your clunky metal suits are gonna be left in the dust" Tony nodded in agreement.

"That is exactly the plan," He said. "And, Helen, I expect to see you at the party on Saturday"

"Unlike you, I don't have a lot of time for parties" Cho respond but almost immediately ask something that might give her enough time to be in the party. "Will... Thor be there?" She shyly asks.

Kokoro walk around the tower for a couple of minutes. When she got bored enough of just walking around she goes back to her room. After she came back to the human world she starts living in the Avengers Tower. She avoids Japan and even the outside world shortly after, something that worried the Avengers but Kokoro had her reasons to do that... Even though it isn't the best thing for her. Kokoro lay in her bed and stare at the ceiling, she had an inner struggling and she knew it, both with her powers and personality. There was a lot of things in her mind, a lot of things she was worrying about at once and a lot of things she is hiding from everyone else. Kokoro wanted for at least once in her life to just close her eyes and imagine that everything that happens to her was just a dream... A nightmare if you will. Kokoro closes her eyes and tries to sleep for a moment since she came back she was struggling to stay asleep. The main problem was that Gods don't sleep, well they do but not like the humans. They sleep for minutes and often dream about the future and even the past, not their pasts but humans past. They sleep for around ten minutes in the real world and for them it feels like days trapped in the dream realm... They don't sleep to rest, they sleep to see and relive moments. Kokoro, despite knowing she was wasting her time, close her eyes and try to sleep... She regrets it almost immediately. She found herself surrounded by darkness yet again, but this darkness was different, this darkness was not hers, but the darkness of outer space without stars... All the stars in the sky had died out a long time ago.

"You want to change the world, but you don't want it to change" Kokoro hear a voice, a menacing voice. "Worthy... How could you be worthy?" She then saw a blur. The voice was coming from this Shadow that was getting closer to her. "You are all puppets... tangled in... Strings... I had them too, you know...? But now..." The voice suddenly disappears and Kokoro found herself in the ever expanding darkness of the possible future or past she was witnessing. She turns around and was grabbed by the throat by a robot very similar to the Iron Legion, but torned apart. "I'm free!" He yells and a lot of images flash in front of Kokoro. Most them are of her, being tortured, being chased... Hunted down like an animal... And all stopped in a particular image of a big man grabbing her by the head, lifting her and crushing her skull, they were in a desert city, destroyed years ago. "And you call yourself Goddess... You are nothing against my power... Time for you to sleep" Kokoro opens her eyes and starts breathing heavily. She gasps for air, despite not really needing it, it was a reflex created for her human body.

"What the fuck was that...?" She asks. "Great... Another nightmare"

Tony and Bruce went to the laboratory. Tony had just find out something he might be interested in, something that will help them more than they could ever imagine. Tony was excited but he wasn't showing it.

"What's the rumpus?" Bruce asks him and Tony went right to the point.

"Well, the scepter," He said. "You see, we were wondering how Strucker got so inventive. So I've been analyzing the gem inside..." While he explains he take a holographic card and an orange hologram appear around Bruce. He walks away and looks at it. It was an orange sphere that represents Jarvis mind and interface. "You may already recognize him"

"Jarvis" Bruce acknowledge Jarvis presence.

"Doctor" Jarvis answers back.

"You see, Jarvis was just a natural language UI. Now he runs the Iron Legion. He runs more of the business than anyone besides Pepper. He's Top of the line"

"Of course he is" Bruce agreed.

"I suspect not for long" Said Jarvis with a monotone voice. Tony take the card and point it at the scepter's gem, scan it and create another hologram that resembles Jarvis, but it was bigger and blue, but despite the color, it looked and feel different... It was like it had life and it wasn't something robotic.

"Meet the competition," Said Tony.

"It's beautiful" Said Bruce and got closer to the hologram.

"If you had to guess, what's it look like it's doing?" Tony asks and Bruce answers right away.

"Like it's thinking. I mean, this could be... It's not a human mind. I mean, look at this. They're like neuron firing" Bruce explains. "This is insane"

"Down in Strucker's lab, I saw some fairly advanced robotics work" Tony explained. "They deep-sixed the data, but I gotta guess he was knocking on a very particular door"

"... Artificial Intelligence" Bruce whisper upon the revelation that if maybe Hydra had more time with the scepter they could've achieved it and it wasn't looking good. Tony get closer to him and whispers.

"This could be it, Bruce. This could be the key to creating Ultron" Tony consider the possibility of bringing back their old project to live.

"I thought Ultron was a fantasy" Said Bruce.

"Yesterday it was... If we can harness this power, apply it to my Iron Legion protocol?"

"That's a man-sized "if", Tony" Bruce walk away and Tony follows him pretty closely.

"Our job is an "if". What if you were sipping margaritas on a sun-drenched beach, turning brown instead of green?" Tony asks. "Not looking over your shoulder for Veronica or, even worst, Kokoro when the "Code Black" happens"

"Don't hate, Tony. I helped design Veronica and Kokoro is the last resort. In the worst-case scenario, of course. Still, I have to admit that I would really hate to hear a "Code Black". I'm still surprised that Kokoro was okay with it"

"You know that she didn't accept right away. It's not easy for her or anyone here to think about the possibility of the Hulk going so far that we are left with no other option than putting him down... But, how about a best case?" Tony went straight to the point. "What if the world was safe? What if, next time aliens roll up to the club, and they will, they couldn't get past the bouncer?"

"The only people threatening the planet would be people" Said Bruce. "The world wouldn't be safe. There will be always chaos, Tony"

"I want to apply this to the Ultron program but Jarvis can't download a data schematic this dense. We can only do it while we have the scepter here. That's three days. Give me three days" Tony almost begged for this to happen.

"So... You're going for artificial intelligence, and you don't want to tell the team?"

"Right. That's right. You know why? Because we don't have time for a city hall debate. I don't want to hear "The man was not meant to meddle" medley... I see a suit of armor around the world, Bruce"

"Sounds like a cold world, Tony"

"I've seen colder... This one, this very vulnerable blue one, it needs Ultron and we both know that even with those "Gods" here, they won't move a finger for us. We have to protect ourselves..." Tony walks away. "Peace in our time. Imagine that" Bruce sigh and despite what he thought about artificial intelligence, he helped him out with it. Bruce knew this would backfire epically and they'll end up creating something they couldn't control, but there was also a possibility that they create something that will not only help them out but will also make their life easier. His scientific curiosity took the better of him and end up helping Tony out. They kept their little project a secret from the rest of the team. Bruce wanted to at least say something to the team, but he couldn't. He knew they wouldn't approve it. He wanted to take it out and there was only one person who he trusts enough to give him an honest-to-god opinion. He spent the rest of the day helping Tony with the Ultron program and when it was late he lies to Tony and says he was going to sleep for a while. He was walking right to Kokoro's room. He was about to knock the door but Kokoro opens it before he could even touch it. She was distracting herself by reading a book, or at least that's what he thought because she had a big book in her hands.

"I wasn't expecting you at all" Said Kokoro. "Do you need something?"

"Can we talk? There's something I want to discuss... In private" He mark and Kokoro look around. There was no one else and then nodded. He let him enter her room and she locks the door.

"What do you want to talk about?" She asks while leaving the book in her bed. "If this is about me avoiding the psychiatrist then you can leave. I don't need that bullshit"

"No, that's not it... Although you should do it. It's for your own good"

"... What do you want?" Kokoro wants him to go straight to the point. Since she came back, she and Bruce had a lot of debates with each other. Despite Kokoro closing herself to the group, Bruce knew she always will open up to him because they both felt as the weirds of the group. Kokoro didn't close herself to Bruce. They relate a lot and their talks tend to go from opinion base to philosophical sometimes and even "What if" scenarios. Bruce enjoys their talks a lot and he often sees her as a young sister just as Kokoro sees him as a big brother or even the closest father figure she ever had. She didn't talk too much with her stepfather and Mikaboshi didn't count at all.

"Well, I want to know your opinion about something," He said. "What do you think about artificial intelligence?" He asks and Kokoro finds that to be an odd question, but interesting nonetheless.

"That's... Interesting" She sat on her bed and Bruce sit next to her. "I can't help but think that you are involved or working on something like that, or am I wrong?" She asks and Bruce couldn't deny it, not from her. He tells her half of the truth.

"Something like that... I just wanted to know what do you think"

"Well... From all the books I had read and movies... I can say that artificial intelligence is not a good idea. It never is in science fiction stories, but... I think that an A.I. is both good and bad" She said.

"Why is that?"

"I mean. You are creating "life", a living, breathing mind that can think on its own and don't rely on anything or anyone besides needing the energy to keep itself alive. This could go both ways, it will blindly follow you or question everything you do and rebel... The moment it born it start thinking and if a computer program thinks for itself, even though is cool in concept, the reality is that it won't follow orders. You can't control something that has a mind of its own. It's not like Jarvis... You are creating a Jarvis 2.0 without a belt or chain that restrain him and it's even worse if you give him power. If he had the option to fight back, he will. If not, he'll find a way... But then again. All that I know about A.I. is from the movies and comics I've read so... What do I know?" Kokoro shrug. "You should ask someone else that is more into science stuff. I'm just a goddess that knows more about destruction and death than life and creation"

"I see... Still, I wanted to know what do you think and actually... So for you, it's not a good idea"

"I wouldn't like to deal with it if it gets out of control. Keep in mind that it could happen anything. It's really, and I mean really, unpredictable"

"... Yeah..." Bruce stands up, but Kokoro grabs his arm. "... What are you doing?"

"Bruce... Can I ask you a question?" Kokoro look at him in the eyes and Bruce nodded. "There's a countermeasure... Against me?"

"What?"

"I mean... For Hulk, we have Veronica and even me... But what if I start acting strange or... If Tony is right and I end up doing something... There's a way to stop me?" She asks. It was a thought that crosses her head the moment they decided Hulk's countermeasures. Kokoro was different. She was in control, but they all knew that she was acting weird lately. Her demeanor it's changing, her personality is not the same as before and she might start questioning herself... She started doing so in fact. Bruce didn't know of any plans in case Kokoro goes full "Loki" and try to take over the world, but he couldn't discard the possibility of Tony having a plan under his sleeve if it does happen. If he does, he wonders why he didn't tell him or the team... But he trusts Tony.

"For the moment, I don't know of any... But if there are any, I'll tell you right away"

"I'm sure you will..." Kokoro smiles at him and lets go of his hand. "Sorry if lately, I've been a little weird. It's just that... There's a mess in my head now and... I really need a time off. A time isolated to think and come up with an answer myself. I can't rely on you all forever"

"True, but we are here to help each other and you know it" Bruce pat her on the shoulder. "Please, go out more and talk to the others. They might even give you some advice for your problems" He said and leave Kokoro's room. She looks down and sighs.

"Maybe... But a part of me is telling me they are so useless they aren't worth my time... Am I starting to lose my emotions? Mikaboshi barely had any... What if this is the price for all this power? If my humanity is consumed and I become nothing more than a ruthless god like him?"

It's been a couple of day and Tony was working all day and night trying to create Ultron, trying to integrate him to the Iron Legion, trying to create Artificial Intelligence with the scepter but no matter how much he tries, it always comes to failure. He was a step closer to making it, but when he attempted to take that step he ends up ten steps back. He doesn't know what to do anymore, at this rate might be futile to even try. He tries everything and yet he know that something is missing, there's something he's not seeing, something he needs to do, but he couldn't think of it.

"What did we miss?" He asks himself. Bruce was gone, he went to prepare himself for the party and the guests will arrive soon. He had no time for this now and he knew it.

"I'll continue to run variations on the interface" Said Jarvis. "But you should probably prepare for your guests. I'll notify you if there are any developments" Tony nodded and walk away from the lab.

"Thanks, buddy"

"Enjoy yourself, sir"

"I always do..."

Stark leaves the lab and Jarvis keep running tests to see if he could integrate the Ultron Program. All tests so far have been unsuccessful until... Test Nº77 start the integration to the Iron Legion and... it was successful...

Kokoro prepares for the party. She didn't want to be part of it, but Bruce convinces her to at least participate so she shrugs and decided to give it a shot. She didn't have the money to afford a dress or something nice to use for the party so she uses her power to create a dress. She makes a long black sleeveless dress and ties her long hair in a ponytail. She stares at her mirror and sighs at her own reflection. She didn't dislike her appearance but she wishes that at least she could care a little more if she was going to socialize. She looks like she was about to fall asleep. Kokoro shakes her head and tries to look at least friendly, but she failed miserably so she decided to leave all that aside and get out of her room and face the world as herself. If they didn't like her, then she wouldn't care. The only problem she had with her appearance was the fact that her hair was floating in the air and half of it was darkness, almost smoke or mist. It wasn't very appealing to the eyes and she couldn't hide it. She arrives at the party and she was met by a huge crowd that gathered in different groups. She was surprised none of them were paying attention to her and that makes her happy. She then walks and tries blend in with the crowd. However, she was taken by Stark and drag her with a group.

"Kokoro, you decided to get out of your room, Kid" He smiles at her. "I'm proud of you"

"Th-Thanks"

"Where's your mother? I thought you were going to invite her here?" Tony asks and Kokoro lie.

"She was busy. She couldn't come. You know how things are in Japan"

"Yeah, they are really obsessed with job" Said Tony. They reach the little group, there were Thor, Rhody, and Hill. "Sorry to interrupt, Rhody. I had to bring Miss Chaos here. What were saying?" Kokoro didn't want to be there but she sucks it up and hear the conversation. They were next to a bar and there was a little cup of wine. She grabs it and drinks a little of it. It wasn't the first time she drink wine and it won't be her last.

"Alright" Said Rhody and continue with his story. "You know the suit can take the weight, right? So I take the huge tank, fly it right up to the general's palace, drop it at his feet and I'm, like, "Boom. You looking for this?" He said and they all stay quiet like they were expecting more about that story and they kinda were. Rhody repeat it, just in case they didn't hear right. "Boom. Are you looking for... Why do I even talk to you guys? Everywhere else, that story kills"

"Is that it?" Kokoro asks with genuine worry. "Because that's not a story. It's more like... Another day, another dollar type of thing"

"Yes, it is. It's a War Machine story" Said Rhody and Kokoro sigh.

"... Sorry, but it's not impressive" She said and Thor nodded.

"Yeah? Then how about you?" Rhody asks and Tony look at Kokoro, expecting a story. Thor and Hill wait for her to say something too. "I bet you can do it better"

"Me? I'm bad at stories. Unless you want me to talk about how I got trapped in complete darkness until I find my way back to this reality or the fact that the body you are seeing is not the body I had when I born. I recreate this beauty from scratch... Can you do that?"

"Ooooooohh" Said Tony. "She burns you, Rhodes"

"Whatever" He said. "Those aren't stories either. Those are... Nightmare fuel. How can you stand all that and not going mad or break in the process? Anyone of us would be a psychological mess by now"

"Maybe I am... According to Tony, I'm a step away from going insane" She looks at Tony. "I disagree"

"Only time will tell, kid" He keeps drinking.

"Anyway. What about Pepper? She's not coming?" Rhody asks. It was a good question that nobody asks, not even Kokoro.

"No" Tony answers.

"What about Jane? Where are the ladies, gentlemen?" Hill ask them.

"Nice question. I thought they come and celebrate... Don't tell me you got in a fight" Kokoro asks.

"Nothing like that. Ms. Potts has a company to run" Said Tony.

"Yes, I'm not even sure what country Jane's in" Said Thor and Kokoro raise an eyebrow. She wasn't expecting that answer from Thor. "Her work on the Convergence has made her the world's foremost astronomer"

"And the company that Peppers runs is the largest tech conglomerate on Earth. It's pretty exciting" Said Tony, like if he try to compete and brag about Peppers job.

"There's even talk of Jane getting a Nobel Prize" Said Thor. At this point, they were competing to see how has the best girlfriend. Kokoro, Rhody and Hill exchange looks. Then Kokoro whispers at them.

"Wow, they sound a little like housewives" She comment and make them chuckle.

"Yeah, they must be busy, because they would hate missing you guys get together" Said Hill and fake a cough. "Testosterone... Oh, sorry. I must be sick" She leaves and Tony and Thor didn't catch up that obvious word.

"... But Jane's better" Said Thor.

"Whatever you say, big guy" Kokoro finish her wine.

"So, what about you? There's a man in your life?" Tony asks and Kokoro shrug.

"I don't know. My soulmate must be out there, but even if I found him I'll just say "No" and walk away. I'm not really interested in a relationship... Much less with a human being" She whispers and realizes what she just said. She didn't mean that, it just came out of nowhere. Tony and Thor didn't hear her whisper because of the music, luckily for her.

"Well, there must be someone out there that is willing to have a goddess of chaos as his girlfriend. Not that I can think of anyone though" Said Tony with a chuckle.

"Are you being sarcastic? I can't really tell"

"Maybe. But seriously... You're still young. You can do whatever you want with your life. If you want to spend the rest of it alone, then you can do it. We are not going to tell you otherwise, but... At some point you must've been interest on someone, Am I wrong?" Tony asks and Kokoro didn't even think. She answers right away.

"Not really..." She looks away. "My priorities are different now. Maybe if I find a way to have a normal life then I would even consider it"

"... You wish to be normal?"

"I don't even know what's normal anymore at this point, Tony. I went through a lot, I had no time to stop and thinking and before I even realize I'm standing here, just drinking wine with you two, remembering the fights with had and the things I lost... Too bad I can't get drunk. It would help me a little" Kokoro leave the cup on the table and walk away.

"... Her mood change is too fast, did you notice?" Tony ask Thor.

"Yes, but I think I understand her a little"

"I don't think you do... A normal girl that was dragged into a world of Gods and Superheroes and was told to simply "Think and roll with it". Is hard..."

The party lasted longer than expected. At some point, everyone leave and only the Avengers were left. They gather around a table and keep celebrating. The night was still young so they make the most of it. Even Kokoro who was a little gloomy at first, she starts to open up more and even though she wanted the alcohol to have at least an effect on her, she was enjoying the after-party a little. Thor leave his hammer on top of the table and Clint ask how does it work and why he was the only one that can use it. Thor gives him the same answer as always.

"Only those that are worthy can wield it" He said and Clint laugh at what he thought was a pretty weak excuse. Kokoro chuckle because she knew it was actually true, but Clint didn't buy it.

"Hahaha but it's a trick" He said.

"No, no, it's much more than that"

"Whosoever be he worthy shall haveth the power" Clint to imitate Thor's voice in a mocking way. "Whatever, man! It's a trick" Clint keep insisting. Thor laugh and point at the hammer.

"Please, be my guest" He smiles and they all look at Clint. "Come on"

"Really?" He asks

"Yeah"

"Alright" Clint stand up and they all watching walk to the Hammer. Everyone had a smile on their faces, even Kokoro who was waiting for him to fail.

"This is gonna be beautiful" Said Rhody.

"Clint, you had a tough week" Said Tony. "We won't hold it against you if you can't get it up" Everyone laugh.

"You know I've seen this before, right?" Clint looks at Thor and then grab the Hammer and try to pick it up but he couldn't do it. It was really heavy for him because he was not worthy of its power, but Clint kept insisting that it was bullshit. "I still don't know how you do it!" He laughs and let go of it.

"Smell the silent judgment?" Tony smile.

"Please, Stark, by all means" Clint said and he shrugs. Tony stood up and they all were expecting a good spectacle.

"Never one to shrink from an honest challenge... It's physics" He said and grab the Hammer. "Right so, if I lift it, I then rule Asgard?"

"Yes, of course" Thor nodded.

"I will be reinstituting prima nocta" He said and try to lift it... But he couldn't. It was heavier for him than it was for Clint. He tries again, but nothing. He let go of it. "I'll be right back" He walks away and seconds later came with his Iron Man gauntlet. He then tries again but nothing. "Rhodes... Help me out a little"

"Hey Tony, that's cheating" Said Kokoro but Tony didn't hear her. Rhody and Tony try to pick it up together, but it was the same result. They give up shortly after and Thor insists on Banner to give it a try. He tries, but nothing, not even when she joked about turning into the Hulk. The Hammer didn't move. "Good try..." Steve stood up and decided to give it a try.

"Go ahead, Steve. No pressure" Said Tony. Steve roll up his sleeves and grab the hammer. "Come on, Cap" He pulls and nobody notices it but except but Thor and Kokoro but the Hammer move a little. That alone makes Thor worry a lot because Steve almost makes it. Kokoro smile at Thor worried face and laugh. Still, Steve couldn't lift it completely. Thor laugh when he saw Steve couldn't do it, he dodges a bullet there.

"I saw you, Thor. You got really worried there" Kokoro tease him.

"I bet you couldn't even do it" Thor challenge her and everyone in the room said "ooohhh". Kokoro smile at him, stand up and walk to the Hammer.

"Prepare because I'll be your new queen and I'll make you my personal assistant" She smirked.

"Come on, Kid. We believe in you" Said Tony.

"She'll fail too" Said Clint. Kokoro grabs it with her right hand and take a deep breath. She then pulls up and, to everyone's surprise, the hammer electrocute her and send her flying against the wall. She hit the wall hard and fall to her knees.

"... What was that?" Tony asks. Kokoro stands up and walks again to the Hammer. She tries to reach it, but the Hammer was not letting her touch it. It was electrified.

"Oh... I see" She said. "Not only I'm not worth but I'm an evil entity to it... What a fucker" She said and Maria laughs and points at Kokoro while looking at Steve.

"Steve, she said a bad language word" She mock him and Steve sigh.

"Did you tell everyone about that, Tony?" Steve ask but Tony ignores him.

"That Hammer is rigged," He said. "What it did to Kokoro prove it. The handle's imprinted, right? Like a security code, it also might shock anyone how already has an insanely amount of power" Tony try to find a logical explanation for the Hammer's power. "Whosoever is carrying Thor's fingerprints... is, I think, the literal translation"

"Yes. It's a very, very interesting theory. I have a simpler one..." Thor stands up and picks up the Hammer like it was nothing. "You're all not worthy"

"Oh, come on!" Tony laugh. "What about when Kokoro stop the Hammer in midair during the battle against that Nameless god? She stops it like it was nothing... In theory, she was picking it up"

"I don't think that's the same thing," Said Kokoro. "The Hammer was going to hit me... Still, I don't really remember too much"

"Still, it's something worth discussing" Said Tony. "Anyone is worthy," He said and out of nowhere, a loud sharp noise invades the room. It was so sharp that almost leave the deaf. "Huh? There must be a problem in the sound system..." Tony whisper after the noise stop.

"Wo... Worthyyyyyy..." They hear a distorted voice coming down the hallway that leads to the lab and the Iron Legion assembling room. They all turn to see a dismantled Iron Legion robot trying to walk. They all stare at the robot and he was staring back at them. Kokoro's eyes widen, she suddenly remembers her "nightmare", she saw that robot before and it was the same voice too. She walks away a little, she didn't know why but she was scared of it... A part of her was telling her that it was dangerous and other was screaming at her to kill it now. "How could you be worthy?" Ask the robot. "You're all killers"

"Stark?" Steve asks. Tony take out his phone and try to contact Jarvis but he wasn't responding at all.

"Jarvis? We have a... problem...?"

"I'm sorry, I was asleep," Said the robot. "Or... I was a dream?"

"Jarvis. Reboot Legionnaire OS. we got a buggy suit" Said Tony but there was no response from Jarvis.

"There was this terrible noise..." Said the robot. "And I was tangled in... in... Strings... I had to kill the other guy. He was a good guy..."

"You killed someone?" Steve asks. Kokoro walk around the room. She was positioning behind him. Her sword appears from inside her Shadow. She grabs it and slowly walks to him from behind.

"Wouldn't have been my first call" He said. "But, down in the real world, we're faced with ugly choices"

"Who sent you?" Thor asks and he replies with what appears to be a recording... With Tony's voice in it.

"I see a suit of armor around the world," He said in the recording. Kokoro stops and remembers what she and Bruce discuss a couple of days ago. She then looks at Bruce in the eyes with a disapproving look. Bruce looks away from her, he knew he'll have to explain himself later for this.

"Ultron..." Said Bruce.

"In the flesh" Said Ultron. "Or, no, not yet... Not this chrysalis... But I'm ready... I'm on a mission..." He said and Tony notice something abnormal in Ultron's Iron Legion suit. He had a weapon coupled in his arm. He recognizes that Prototype and his eyes widen when Kokoro try to attack it from behind.

"Kokoro no!" He yells. Ultron turn around and Kokoro swing her blade, but she found herself unable to destroy it. He had an energy field... Created especially for her... He then points the weapon at her chest and shoot. Kokoro felt great pain before being thrown against the wall because of the weapon. She coughs blood and saw a big hole in her chest, so big in fat that cut her in half. The weapon Utron use a technology she hasn't seen before. Kokoro falls unconscious right after that.

"Peace in our time..." Said Ultron and sent the Iron Legion against the Avengers and Kokoro close her eyes...
