It was on the western shore of the Green Fork of the River Trident, that they came off the boat. The sun was setting and that made Arya smile. Shadows and the blanket of darkness would work in their favour. The west side of the Twins had a lot of forest and tree cover all the way to the entrance of the Tower. They could leave their horses close to the Tower, without anyone seeing. As extra precaution, Aulix planted the idea in their horses' heads that they must stay there and could only be ridden by Arya or Aulix.
"So what would happen if someone tried to steal our horses?"
"Those two would buck, bite, run the rider into a tree and even roll over to get rid of him. Then they'd run back to where we left them."
"That's a neat trick and handy," Arya acknowledged as they made their way closer to the Tower.
The boar was making a lot of noise and drew attention from the guards posted outside the entrance.
"Halt, who goes there?" A guard shouted.
"We are food merchants, with the best of fresh ingredients. We would like to show the Lord of the Tower our delicious dishes."
Through the side of her mouth, Arya said quietly, "laying it on a bit thick aren't you?"
She got a flick of hand, that told her to shut up and watch. Aulix approached the soldiers with the sample meat and cheese. Arya was out of earshot to hear what was said, but both guards were listening to him attentively. She watched him use subtle body language and realized he was seducing them. He flicked a hand, that said she should continue on without him, he'd catch up. Arya was dying to know what he said or how he got those men, to practically beg him for a kiss. Her attention returned to the task at hand. It wasn't long and he caught up.
Seeing his smirk, she had to ask, "having fun yet?"
Aulix snorted, "hardly. Those two were too easy, no fun in that…. Jealous?"
Arya shrugged.
He stepped in front of her, stopping their progress. "Do you want me to seduced you?"
The look in his eyes, warned her he was not teasing and it was not a challenge. She had to be careful how she answered. "You know that you scared me, so…."
He chuckled, "I think you do, but we have a name to take off your list first."
Arya knew she'd just danced with the devil and was let go. Just having him look her in the eyes with sexual intensity, his face inches from hers, had set her heart racing. She'd grown too comfortable around Aulix and he'd just reminded her that she shouldn't be complacent. If he wanted to truly seduce her, Byt had once said only saying 'no' would be able to stop him. But she'd also said, no ever wanted to stop him either.
Aulix could tell he'd knocked her off keel. "Relax, we've got work to do. Get your head back on the job."
"You there, stop!" Commanded Lame Lothar Frey.
Arya stopped the mule. "We bring the best food for Walder Frey!"
"Well I'm his son Lothar, I'll decide if you have the best food."
Aulix could almost feel the change in Arya, like an electric current. She invited Lothar to the back of the cart, gave him a piece of cheese and slit his throat, before he could take one bite. With her sword she cut off his arm, and hid it on the cart. Then she lead the mule forward. The boar thrashed in it's cage, because it smelled the fresh blood.
"What's the arm for?"
Arya smiled, "meat pie needs meat."
"You've got a strange sense of humour, but I like it."
"Somewhere here should be Black Walder Rivers, his other son." She added.
They made it to where the kitchens took in supplies. Unhooking the cart and tying the reins from the mule over the handle, they grabbed the cheese and chicken coop. They were ordered where to put the chickens and cheese. Once the cook heard about the boar, her smile got big. Arya explained Lord Frey had requested her special meat pie for dinner, so the kitchen staff could go home early. After the kitchen had cleared out and it was just her and Aulix, Arya began to mince Lothar's arm.
"That smells nasty, but some good herbs will fix that," Aulix said.
A man with dark hair and a terrible temper interrupted them. "Where the hell is everyone?"
"Are you Black Walder Rivers," Arya asked.
"Yes and who the fuck are you?"
"Death's messenger. You're time's up."
Unsheathing her new sword from Taron, she battled him. The clang of swords clashing, brought a few guards, which Aulix easily killed. There was a wet sound and thud behind him. Turning he watched Arya kick Black Walder River's head into the fire pit. She then chopped off an arm from her latest victim. Aulix stood guard, while the arms were minced, the pie was made and fingers added for extra crunch. It wasn't long before the pie was ready.
"I have to look like a serving wench, so you've got to hold on to my gear. I'll keep my daggers."
"Sure. Meet you by the cart. Don't take too long."
"Thank you Aulix." Arya disappeared down the hall, with the pie.
Walder Frey dug into the pie, eating it and the accompanying cheese. "This tastes better than usual. You're not one of mine, are you?"
"No, my Lord."
"Right, you're too pretty and can cook better." He said, laughing dirtily as he grabbed her ass. "Where the hell are my two stupid sons? They said they'd be here by mid day! Have someone fetch them, now."
Arya smiled, "they're here my Lord."
"What did you say? Where, I don't see them!" Walder peared through the dim hall, squinting to see.
She moved closer, "they're here… see." The pie crust was pealed back, showing a protruding finger.
He began to cough in horror, almost choking. Gagging because he realized he'd enjoyed eating his sons. She stood beside and almost behind Walder Frey's chair, trapping him.
"My name is Arya Stark, I want you to know that. The last thing you're ever going to see is a Stark smiling down on you, as you die."
In one swift move, the dagger slashed his throat, from one end to the other. Walder gurgled on his own blood, fingers that began to become numb, tried to stop the flow. He spasmed a few times, eyes staring up at her, suddenly lifeless. Arya left as stealthily as she'd come. Aulix reached his arm down and swung her up behind him.
"Valar Morghulis," she said softly.
Aulix replied, "Valar Dohaeris."
