Third person pov

The crackling of the fire was almost drowned out by the heavy wind bashing against the wood that covered the broken windows. The water is unsafe to drink, especially without a filter. Most food riddled in radiation. The animals now mutated. 95% of them thirsting for blood.

Huddled near the dying fire were two, of only a few, survivors. The one with orange flowing hair that is knotted and tangled into a messy ponytail sat cross-legged; the crystal of her witchy weapon resting in her lap. She polished it gently with as much precision as a rag would give her.

The other, with blue hair filled with dust and dirt. Laid upon a make-shift bed of blankets and pillows nearby. His breathing becomes uneven. He groan in pain as he rolls to rest on his left side. His right sporting a nasty looking wound.

Lucinda's attention was straight upon her friend. Crawling quickly to be at his side. The witch raised her hands to hover over the flesh wound. A quick glance at his face shows the Deep discomfort he was in. " I've got you, Dante" Lucinda murmurs as she releases magic into the wound. She can't heal but she can definitely numb the pain. Her brow furrowed.

A moment later and Dante's breathing returns to a steady pace. Sighs of relief from the two. "Lucinda?" Dante questions her name drowsily, but he's asking much more. Lucinda doesn't miss a beat.

With a quick glare at the door, like a stare will keep it shut. She huddles down to lay beside Dante, letting herself relax a little. Slowly the injury man pulls her closer. Lucinda snuggles her nose into the crook of his neck. They cuddle, curled up in a nest of bedding, just breathing, just alive, but together.

It's kinda a short one, just over 300 words. But it's a upload! You have to be proud of me for that one right! Right? I'm hoping to get back into the swing of writing and update this book more, along with my other stories. If you guys wanna help with that? Please leave a comment.
