Chapter 4: What is that Thing?

Ever since Naruto joined only one strange thing happened. That was him going back in time to help with Haruhi with something when she was a middle-schooler.

Other than that it was same old, same old though it was exam time. However Naruto was freaking out over them.

"I don't do good with exams…" he complained one day in the clubroom.

"Sorry Naruto I guess not everyone can take tests well…" teased Rukia.

Naruto glared at the black haired girl.

"Don't worry Naruto I'm sure you'll do fine…" said Negi.

"Why are we still holding club meetings again?" asked Rukia.

"We need to relax." Said Haruhi while on the computer, "What with exams."

That was when there was knock on the door.

"Come in!" called Negi.

Kyon came in.

"Oh it's only you." Said Haruhi, "I was expecting someone else."

"What?" asked Kyon.

"Sorry but I was the one to ask Kyon to put up those posters…" said Negi.

"You did?" asked Haruhi.

The posters that Kyon put up were about any paranormal investigation service.

"Well the school wants the club to be a paranormal investigation club…" said Negi.

"I see…" said Haruhi, "By the way Kyon! I wanted you to do something!"

Kyon came over and showed him a strange thing she drew on the computer. It was strange.

"What is that thing?" asked Kyon.

"It's our logo? Can't you see it, it says S.O.S. Brigade." Said Haruhi.

Kyon really looked at it and wasn't sure if it was or wasn't.

Unfortunately it was his job to put it up on the website. Haruhi was of course being a backseat driver when it came to putting it up. Itsuki eventually joined but other than that the club watched the two argue.

The next day, Kyon came into the clubroom to find Rukia trying to help Haruhi on the computer.

"This is the third time I replaced it and it still won't be fixed!" said Haruhi.

"What's wrong?" asked Kyon.

"The website is broken." Answered Rukia.

"Kyon fix this!" yelled Haruhi.

Kyon tired fixing it but it didn't work. It just came up corrupted once again.

"Oh man it must be hackers or crackers or whatever they're called." Said Haruhi.

"I hope it's not too much a problem…" said Rukia.

Kyon sighed.

Of course the other freshmen came into the room soon enough as well as Negi, as the sun began to set though, Mikuru came into the room, and she had company.

A rather pretty girl with light green hair.

"Oh this is Emiri Kimidori." Said Mikuru.

"Hello…" said the girl quietly.

Turns out there she needed help.

"You wee my boyfriend hasn't been seen in the past few days…no one's heard from him and I'm starting to get worried." Said Emiri.

"What are his parents, aren't they around?" asked Haruhi.

"No they're working overseas." Said Emiri.

"In Canada?" asked Haruhi.

"No I believe Honduras." Said Emiri.

"Wait who is your boyfriend?" asked Rukia.

"And why did you come to us?" asked Kyon.

Well he always would talk about the S.O.S. Brigade and since your investigate the paranormal I figured you could help." Said Emiri, "And his name is…"

They heard a cat yowl so only a few of them could hear it.

"You know him?" asked Haruhi to Naruto.

"I couldn't even hear the name…" said Naruto.

"Seriously?" asked Haruhi.

"He's also the president of the computer club." Explained Emiri.

Kyon blinked then remembered it… When they black mailed the computer club president into giving them the newest top of the line computer.

"All right! I'll solve this case for you or your money back." Said Haruhi.

"We're not taking any money…" said Negi.

"You know what I mean." Sighed Haruhi.

And so the next day they got went to his apparent which wasn't the nicest but wasn't the worst either, just simple.

They got to where it was and Haruhi looked at the door. She tried to open it but couldn't. \

"Well I guess we could always ask the manager and tell him we've been missing for days and we need to see if here's dead or something." Said Haruhi.

"Is that really a good idea?" asked Negi.

That was when Yuki looked at Kyon and opened the door.

"Oh it was open… funny I thought it was locked, well whatever." Said Haruhi.

They all went inside, Haruhi sighed when she didn't find the President.

"I would have though he would have been under his bed or huddling in a ball due to the May Melancholy…" said Haruhi.

"This is serious…" said Negi, "There is a missing students…"

"Yeah, yeah…" sighed Haruhi who began rifle through the missing president's things.

"We should get out of here." Yuki whispered to Kyon.

"What?" asked Kyon.

"She's right… something off in here." Said Rukia.

"This rom has a similar scent." Said Itsuki.

"What?" asked Kyon.

"This feels like a closed space, but it's different than Haruhi's." said Itsuki.

They all looked at Haruhi who was eating some of the president's food, it was expired anyways and was sharing it with Naruto while Negi tried to stop them.

"And it has the scent?" aside Kyon.

"I meant scent figuratively, it's has the same feel." Said Itsuki.

"A dimensional shift so transpiring." Said Yuki.

Thankfully Haruhi got bored.

"I'm sure it will all work out." Sighed Haruhi as they left the building, "Everyone's dismissed for the day."

They all parted always and 10 minutes later they all reconvened, with Negi brining his staff.

"So what's happening?" asked Mikuru.

"That's what I want to know." Muttered Naruto.

"Those three sensed something." Said Kyon.

They looked at Rukia, Itsuki and Yuki.

They all returned to the room.

Yuki and Itsuki began to explain the situation.

"Did anyone understand it?" asked Naruto.

"There's something in here creating a closed space." Said Rukia.

"Or something like it." Said Itsuki.

"What's a closed space again?" asked Naruto.

"Did they brief you anything they learned?" asked Rukia.

Naruto laughed nervously.

"Please tell me you know what one is…" sighed Kyon to Negi.

"I was told about it." Said Negi.

"The 10 year old knows more about what's going on than Naruto…" thought Kyon.

"Either way the President's disappearance is because of this space, right?" asked Itsuki.

"That is correct." Said Yuki.

Yuki raised her hand and suddenly they were in a giant desert.

"Whoa! This is his room?" asked Naruto, "what happened to it?"

"Actually it's another dimension…" said Itsuki, "In a sense. It's not a closed space."

"He wasn't listening very well…" thought Kyon with a sigh.

They looked around.

"The president is somewhere in here?" asked Kyon.

"He should be." Said Itsuki.

Itsuki was once again discoing certain things with Yuki.

"So you don't know that much." Said Kyon to Rukia.

"No…" answered Rukia, "I can sense distortions but I don't know much about them…"

Kyon was about to ask why, but Rukia answered before he could say anything.

"It's because of the line between Earth and the Soul Society, Closed Spaces and other dimensional traces leave a mark between the boundary." Said Rukia.

"That makes sense I guess…" thought Kyon.

Yuki began to move her hand.

"Wait… can you please tell us what you're going to do so war can be prepared." Said Kyon.

"Nothing." Answered Yuki.

Yuki pointed, they turned and saw a giant mass of energy. Suddenly the mass shifted into the form of a cave cricket.

"What is that thing!" yelled Naruto.

"The creator of this space." Said Yuki.

"That thing isn't happy to see us." Said Naruto.

Itsuki created at an orange ball.

"I can only use an 8 of my power here… maybe that's all I need." Said Itsuki.

"All right!" cheered Naruto, "I've been itching for fight."

Rukia took out a thing that looked lie a rabbit pez dispenser thing and ate a candy that came out of it. That was when they saw that she left her body.

"It appears that this space allows everyone to see Rukia's true form." Said Itsuki.

"What seriously that's your true form!" yelled Naruto, "I was expecting something else something ugly or more ghostly…"

"What's that supposed to mean?" asked Rukia glaring at him.

"This isn't the time to fight." Said Negi.

"But seriously…" said Kyon realizing that the subject seemed to dropped while comforting Mikuru, "What is that thing?"

"A Sub Species of Data Life forms." Said Kyon, "It's using it's brain of a male student to heighten the probability of it's survival."

"Perhaps the president is inside that thing?" asked Itsuki.

"Precisely." Said Yuki.

"All right! Let's kick its ass!" yelled Naruto, "Shadow Clone Jutsu!"

There was when many clones of Naruto appeared and all but the real Naruto and one clone rushed the giant cricket.

"I take it's a distraction?" asked Itsuki.

Naruto gave a grin and nodded.

As the cricket creature got rid of the clone, Itsuki, Rukia, Negi and Naruto all prepared their attacks.

The clone helped Naruto create something in his hand.

Negi began to chant in something that that sounded like Latin.

Rukia began her own incantation.

"Ye lord! Mask of blood and flesh, all creation, flutter of wings, ye who bears the name of Man! On the wall of blue flame, inscribe a twin lotus. In the abyss of conflagration, wait at the far heavens!"

"Big Ball Rasengan!" yelled Naruto creating a blue glowing ball on in his hand.

"Sagitta Magica!" called out Negi creating several arrows made from light.

"Hado Number 63! Soren Sokasui!" called out Rukia shooting a blue light from her fingers.

Itsuki merely hit the giant cricket monster with the orange ball.

Both Mikuru and Kyon gaped, seriously that all of them had such power.

All of the attacks hit the Cricket creature and soon it dissolved into nothing revealing the President of the Computer Club.

Once everything calmed down (and Rukia went into her body), Yuki explained everything.

It came to earth millions of years ago and went into hibernation since it couldn't exist at that time. However eventually the internet managed to revive to a half conscious state.

"So how did it happen?" asked Rukia as Naruto poked the president s he laid sleeping on the floor.

"The Insignia that Haruhi Suzumiya drew." Answered Yuki.

"What?" asked Kyon.

"By terrestrial measurements the emblem is approximately 436 terabytes of data." Said Yuki.

"Seriously!" yelled Naruto, "How is that even possible, it cant' fit on that computer, right?"

"Do you even know anything about computers?" asked Rukia.

"I've been using them since I got to Japan…" said Naruto.

"Well something Miss Suzumiya drew is something quite amazing." Said Itsuki, "I guess I shouldn't be surprised."

"We should be lucky that it was easy to take down." Said Rukia.

"Hey! Wait a minute! I put that onto the website why haven't any of us been effected?" asked Kyon.

"Oh the clubroom was transformed into an alternate space a long time ago." Said Itsuki, "There many of them fight and negating each other, it should be fine."

Kyon gave an exasperated sigh.

"It also means that the laws of property are meaningless in Miss Suzumiya world. After all how else would she be able to gather a Time Travel, An Alien, An Esper, Mage, a Shinigami and a Ninja in such a short amount of time?" asked Itsuki.

"Um… maybe we should discus this another time." Said Negi, "We should be leaving before he wakes up."

Kyon gave another sigh. They all left before the president could wake up.

The next day they fixed up the site with a reversed logo, one that didn't have reality altering powers.

However the site now bore over 30,000 hits. It was due to the data creature sending hyper links so that it could spread all over the internet.

It also meant there were 8 other victims, 5 of them Students are north high.

They had to come up with a battle plan for that another time.

The next day in the clubroom, Kyon was thinking about something.

"Hey what's your problem?" asked Naruto sitting down.

"Oh… it's nothing." Said Kyon.

"Seriously?" asked Naruto.

Kyon sighed, "Kimidori isn't the president's girl friend." He whispered.

"Seriously?" asked Naruto.

"I'm just worried about her…" said Kyon.

"She's probably just and Esper, Aliens, Time Traveler or Shinigami or something like that." Said Naruto.

"I don't know." Said Kyon.

"Man I hope whatever Haruhi gets us into next time is just as exciting as that." Said Naruto, "This mission is boring…"

Kyon stared at Naruto, thankfully Haruhi was distracted with something else to not be bothered.

Kyon had hoped that Naruto was right and Emiri was in on it…

What he had hoped that Naruto was wrong about the exciting part of the adventure… he had hoped nothing like that would happen again…

Thankfully the next thing that happened wouldn't be that exciting… maybe…

Next Time: The S.O.S. Brigade plans out their plans for Summer Vacation, namely some destinations! The first one up is a trip to an Island Villa that a distant relative of Itsuki owns... nothing could go wrong... right... right!
