Chapter 13: Bloodlust

As the dust settled Alex and Hunter looked over to Nagi who stood tall next to Genkaku, His eyes were filled with rage as he looked down to the people below. Alex Backed up as his blood ran cold at Nagi's gaze.

"What the hell did Genkaku to to him?" Karako who had been blown down next to the group spoke up.

"He didn't do anything, this is just Nagi when he's weak."

"This...this is really Nagi?" Before anyone had time to react Nagi was upon them kicking Alex down and grabbing Hunter by the throat effortlessly lifting him into the air.

"WHY? WHY DO YOU ALL GET TO LIVE? TO BE HAPPY? WHEN MY LITTLE GIRL..."

"FUCK YOU!" Alex yelled out standing back up and sending tendrils to restrain Nagi. "You think you're the only one who's suffered? Who's lost someone?"

"WHAT DO YOU KNOW?" Nagi shouted easily breaking though the tendrils and throwing Hunter right into Alex knocking them both to the ground. He then sent one of his blood balls at them. Hunter raised his arms up in defense as the ball exploded. However he and Alex where completely unharmed as a ring of electric blood was now in front of them. With another scream Nagi sent three more but as they went through the ring blood shot from the middle and destroyed them.

"Leave them alone!" Nagi and the others turned to see Shiro on her waist propped up with her arms. Nagi got one hit in knocking her out cold. When he went for another Ganta jumped in the way taking the hit. Alex tried to run in and help but gunfire from the Undertakers stopped him from moving away from behind Hunter who had turned the ring. Hunter seeing this sent more blood to the ring expanding it enough to where Alex could comfortably move. just as Ganta fell and Nagi went in to finish Shiro.

"Shiro!" Alex Yelled out as all of his scabs and nearly closed cuts ripped themselves open as the muscle like armor formed all around Alex's body. At the same time he then sent many blood tendrils, they shot out and wrapped around Nagi stopping him in his tracks. Ganta however was already standing in front of Shiro arms once again outstretched. Alex felt relief seeing this, that even if he failed again Ganta was there. Until he fell with his collar beeping. Alex knew what this was, Ganta needed Candy and now. they didn't have time for this, they needed to deal with the Undertakers and Nagi. Then Karako came out of nowhere and slapped Nagi. Well whatever works right?

"Snap out of it Nagi! PLEASE!" Nagi stood there stunned as the sound of her bell reached his ears his eyes widened as his sanity slowly came back piece by piece.

"Karako...I..." Before he could say anymore a blade struck through her chest and she dropped to the ground Nagi grabbed her in horror as he pulled the blade out. Karako was injured but alive as she used her branch to seal up the wound and create a smooth armor around it. Genkaku laughed still at his position on the elevated bit of floor having thrown the blade himself.

"Oh come on now, im not gonna steal your kills love, take them out." Karakos eyes pleaded at Nagi who stood before slowly turning and facing the monk.

"No." Genkakus face scrunched up hearing this.

"What?" Nagi smiled at the deranged man and spoke.

"Sorry to disappoint you but there is no salvation in death, only through those who matter to oneself."

"Don't do this to me Owl, I can't take anymore heartache." As they stood in silence for what felt like eternity Genkaku raised his guitar sadly and pulled the trigger blowing a hole right through Nagi's midsection.

"Nagi!" Karako shouted as he fell to the ground she ran over to him as Hunter took a step back in shock.

"No. He just got back and now..." Then Alex heard something eerily familiar, metallic clicking from Hibanas sword Time seemed to slow to a near halt as he turned to see she had send her blade right at Hunter. Jumping into action in what looked like the blink of an eye to everyone else Alex ran over to Hunter and pushed him out of the way of the incoming blade was then thrown back into the wall by the segment creating a dent in the wall. His Armor cracked and nearly shattered as a dent became visible in his chest, his sternum was crushed, nearly turned to paste. The segment returned to her blade taking Alex off the wall. He fell onto his face the pain of it all causing him to lose control of his blood before struggling back to his feet. The dent in his chest was bleeding heavily as Hunter looked up in shock.

"Come...Come on, is tha- that all you got?" As he finished the word he coughed out a mouthful of blood before staggering back against the wall and sliding down. Hunter ran over to Alex kneeling down and examining the young man. This wasn't good Hunter was no doctor but he knew for a fact this was a fatal hit. Alex wasn't going to last much longer.

"Why? What the hell made you think that was a good idea?" Alex laughed before coughing some more blood onto his lap.

"You don't get it do you kid? I never think shit over, I just kinda go with the flow." Hunter shook his head and faced the ground beginning to sob.

"No! Not again, why do all my friends end up dying because of me!" Alex coughed again before wiping his lower face to get rid of the blood.

"Me and Cornrows didn't die because of you kid." Hunter looked up tears streaming down his face. "We did it for you." He tried to lift his arm up to give Hunter a pat on the shoulder but the pain was far too great. "I always knew I was gonna die young but I thought I'd get killed in a shootout with some cops or executed in some shitty prison, guess this is pretty close but." He now started to breath heavily as it was taking all his will power just to get the last of the words out. Hunter was shocked as Alex managed to grab his wrist. "At least I managed to go out saving someone who's worth it. Take...take care of Ganta and Shiro for me those two need all the help they can get." And with that Alex's hand dropped to the floor, his eyes closed and he slumped over. Hunter was visibly shaking now. He had lost someone all over again. He stood eyes closed as he turned back to the Undertakers, Nagi, and Hibana.

"I'll do my best brother." With that his blood started to spark up once again but this time spreading all over his body instantly. The blood then started to glow brightly drawing everyone's attention to him. He looked down confused how was this possible it was... Just like Zeus. He remembered the memory Hades had shown him with Zeus's blood glowing a bright red. He had no time to think about that however as a group of at least ten Undertakers swarmed him. Letting out a scream Hunter sent out a shockwave burning any Undertaker within fifteen feet of him to ash. Looking back he saw Alex's body was somehow unharmed by this as he began to walk into the soldiers. "Who's next?" One man swung at him but the weapon bounced off as blood shot out taking his arm clean off. Closing his fist his blood concentrated into an electric pointed blade. With one swing of his arm the man was decapitated with the blade disappearing. Several Undertakers to his side then opened fire as he held out his arm recreating the electric ring with a smirk. Untouched by the bullets he said. "You people never learn do you?" Then a sharp pain stuck his side and as he looked down he saw a blade sticking out.

"Keep the pressure on him! He can't stop all of us at once!" The man who stabbed him said pulling the knife out And swinging it down as Hunter narrowly dodged before sending a bolt of blood right through the mans chest. More Undertakers started surrounding him as he looked around.

.

Alex found himself lying down and was once again in the black void, birdcage and a younger version of him all still there. This time however the younger him looked to be about thirteen with an unamused face.

"Congratulations you couldn't even make it to Hades." Alex stood the pain in his chest was still unbearable but he seemed able to move now as he staggered over to the cage before leaning on it. "Pathetic, You can't even stop them?"

"I'd like to see you do better." the younger Alex smirked at that reaching his hand through the bars.

"Will you let me?" Alex raised an eyebrow but accepted after all what could go wrong? The brat gets them killed even faster? He grabbed the boy's hand only to be pulled in close and to have the boy rach into his chest as Alex's entire body started to burn.

"What the hell are you doing? Get off!" As much as he thrashed however he couldn't shake the boy's grasp as his movement slowed to a crawl.

"Don't worry, im not powerful enough to take over for long especially not in the state you left us, but im more than capable of making sure we don't die here." And with that Alex in the real world opened his eyes, now with glowing red irises. He stood and cracked his neck and with a completely different voice spoke.

"Well, let's get this over with shall we?" All of the wounds Alex had gained in his short time at deadman wonderland started to glow a bright red as they closed up, new skin replacing the ripped open skin and cuts. Looking over to Hunter he saw the men surrounding him and glared. "Cowards." He spat pointing his open hand at one of the mens skull before his palm ripped open as several spiraling tendrils with pointed spear like tips shot into his head but he didn't fall instead twitching about violently catching Hunter and five other Undertakers attention. The Undertaker's torso then ripped open as a dozen of the tendrils shot out. One of the men got a tendril around his throat, with little effort the armor around his neck collapsed closing in tightly almost breaking the neck as he was lifted up off his feet before a second tendril was swung like a whip cutting him in half. Another of the men had two tendrils stab into his feet pinning him to the ground. He then began to scream as the tendrils split into four smaller ones spiraling around the inside of his body before bursting out of his chest and stabbing into his skull. Two of the remaining Undertakers were lucky and were simply impaled or bisected. The last one however was screaming as they wrapped around his body tightening until his ribs shattered, but the tendril didn't stop as the armor collapsed and was crushed until what remained couldn't take the weight and the two halves fell to the ground. Hunter followed the line of blood to see Alex now looking as though he had never taken damage in his life. The biggest change however was the eyes. As Hunter ran to him perplexed.

"Alex, holy shit you're alive! How are you ok?"

"We don't have time for that." Alex said bluntly pointing forward. Genkaku had now turned on his own men firing at them. As the foot soldiers realized this they began to flee some making "I think the others can take the monk on their own but im not not letting these pests leave this place alive." Hunter didn't know how to react at that but he did have a point. If the Undertakers got out then the higher ups would be able to figure out who had killed most of the Undertakers and that meant...

"Okay so what's the plan?" Hunter said looking over to Alex who's hands ripped open once again along with several of the veins in his hands.

"Simple, I trap them." He slammed his hands into the ground as what looked like a puddle spread onto the entire floor excluding the areas around Them, Karako and the others, and the stage Genkaku stood on. The Undertakers were stopped in their tracks as tendrils wrapped around their legs and lower torsos. Alex then stood as his hands repaired themselves. "You finish them off." Hunter looked down at his arms and noticed the glowing blood was dimmer only being around half as bright. but he decided it was enough as He threw his hands into the puddle and surged as his blood spread to every last undertaker caught in its grasp. The Undertakers quickly burnt up along with Alex's blood as the floor was coated in ash. Hunter then collapsed into the ash unconscious. "I suppose that was more than he could handle." Alex knet down and felt for a pulse after finding it, weak but there he stood and turned to Ganta who was still on his knees next to an unconscious Shiro, as well as Karako they both watched in shock.

"ALEX LOOKOUT!" Alex turned just in time to see a shot from Genkakus guitar hit him

"HAHAHAHA THAT WAS BEAUTIFUL YOU SAVED 'EM ALL IN ONE FELL SWOOP! I THINK BUDDHA HIMSELF WOULD BE IMPRESSED." The muscle and skin on Alex's arm regenerated quickly and he stepped forward.

"You know what? I changed my mind, im gonna kill you myse-" He was cut off as Ganta held an arm out in front of him. He had glowing reddish-pink lines along his arm that seemed to be coming from his chest

"No, I need to do this."

"Very well, don't disappoint me Igarashi." Alex then stepped back and watched as Ganta nodded and fired a much larger variant of his branch. It was more powerful too as the very building shook as it flew at Genkaku. The monk fired his guitar but it had no effect and he realized he had no choice but to try and flee but he was held in place and looked down to see Nagi holding onto his leg. With a smile he happily said.

"I see, so you're my salvation." With that he was blown away along with the roof of the room behind him. Alex watched and narrowed his still glowing eyes at this. How did the Igarashi boy get so much power? His head grew dizzy at that and he fell to the ground as his eyes lost their glow.

.

Alex and Hunter both sat chained to a chair about five feet away from one another as they waited in the interrogation room. Tamaki had personally interviewed the two as and as they both gave their sides of the story he just grew angrier and angrier before storming out. Now after twenty or so minutes of awkward silence Hunter looked over to Alex staring for a second before asking.

"So what did happen to Genkaku?" Alex looked over with a shrug.

"Truth is I have no idea I blacked out after Hibana caved my chest in and woke up here feeling fine." Hunter raised an eyebrow at this.

"So you don't remember my glowing blood or how we took out the grunts?"

"Not at all, was it cool?"

"It was freaking awesome, you held them in place and I like turned them into dust or something." Tamaki then walked back into the room with his trademark fox smile on as he said.

"Good news boys, your stories actually check out. You're free to go." Alex and Hunter looked to each other in disbelief before turning to Tamaki. It was Alex who then spoke up.

"Wait, what? Just like that?" Tamaki nodded saying

"Well now that I've become director I have some very important business to take care of and can't be bothered with something as small as the Undertakers destruction." He snapped his fingers and two normal guards then walked in and escorted the boys out of the room before they were fully out however Tamaki called out. "And this should really go without saying but for the record, you're fired Alex." As the chains were taken off of them and they were thrown out of the room they found themselves back in the G-Block hall as Alex brushed himself off then turned to Hunter with a remorseful face

"Hunter, im-"

"Don't." Alex stopped and looked down as Hunter sighed. He looked at the older teen for a second, after everything they had been through. He was willing to give Alex another chance. "You almost died trying to save my life. I'd say that makes us even for the whole trap thing." Alex looked up wearing a hopeful face.

"So, you wanna start over?" Hunter shook his head laughing.

"Not happening brother, you're stuck with me good times and bad." Alex smiled at that as Hunter pulled him into a hug that Alex gladly returned.

"There I released them just as you asked." Sitting across from him was Hades who nodded. Tamaki then leaned in with a smile on his face "Now as we agreed, tell me everything." Hades nodded as he pulled down his hood. Revealing crimson eyes and pale skin.

"Well let me start with something simple, my real name is Jason Watanabe." The young man then pulled a file from his vest and set it in front of Tamaki. "And this is everything we know about Zeus so far."
