Chapter Seventeen
Ron has yet to still fully forgive Draco. In hinds sight, keeping the phones on was not the best idea, but they didn't have the time to set up the microphones and listening devices, and if Draco did get killed, at least they would know. And would know where he is if he got away.
Ron was staying very quiet. Tucked up in his room with a constant scowl on his face. Fred and George has tried to cheer him up but only succeeded in making his bad mood worse.
Hermione and Ginny has also tried, but he was even less open to talking to them. He still did not know about Hermione and Draco. But it was common knowledge that Theo was seeing Ginny. And Ron made it obvious that he did not approve.
The Slytherins even tried to console him. But as soon as Draco even appeared near Ron. His fist flew out again. Draco, Theo and Blaise returned sombrely to the group
"We could hog tie him and curse him" Theo suggested. He revived death glares from the remainder of the group. But. No one could deny that the idea was tempting.
"Right well let's think. What spells could break a horcrux" Blaise asked
"It's made with dark magic. I assume it only takes dark magic to break it" Fred replied. They all nodded. Theo, Blaise and Draco stood before the cup. And started firing all the dark spells they knew. Draco's spells significantly more dangerous than the other two.
After ten minutes and no improvement except Theo flying backwards across the room, the rest (Except a still sulking Ron, of course) started looking up in the books.
None said anything about a Horcrux, or how to destroy one. But showed enough dark spells that one had to have perhaps that would have been the case. If their powers had not been reduced so significantly.
A further 2 hours later, they are no closer. And decided to have some dinner. In the pub next door to their hotel, they sat around discussing ideas.
"Why can't we melt it?" Bliase asked? "Build a fire and melt it?"
"Because the Horcrux will remain in tact and will only move to the new object" Hermione said
"Well … why can't we melt it to a big flat disk then snap it in half?" Fred asked
"Because then we have appoint a Horcrux and there would then be 8" Draco explained
"What is one of us made a Horcrux using the cup? Wouldn't that push his out?" Neville asked
"No. It would mean you have to share such item with Voldemort. And then when we kill the Horcrux, we kill you too." Draco explained
"Besides. Making more horcruxes are out of the question!"
"Agreed. So the only thing we know to kill them is basilisk venom" Harry said
"Yes. But I have been thinking. Harry, you used the sword to kill the basilisk didn't you" Draco asked
"Yes, why?" Harry replied
"Aunt Bella only asked about the sword taken from her vault. You can see how much she hated that cup. Either didn't notice, or failed to mention that it had gone. But I'm thinking. She knew how important the sword was. And the sword takes in what makes it stronger. Therefore it would kill a Horcrux" Draco explained
"So you're saying the only way to kill it is by sword or basilisk venom?" Blaise said.
"Well. I don't know where the sword is … but I know that the Dark Lord would not allow any venom to be sold if it kills him" Draco said
"He might not know" George said
"He does. He watched me kill the diary" Harry said
"But … I know where we have at least 4 basilisk fangs"Harry said
"Where?" Ginny asked
"The chamber" Hermione commented.
"That's right. And if we can find out the Ravenclaw item. We can go to hogwarts, kill the cup the locket and the other. That would summon The Dark Lord to Hogwarts where we can kill the snake and him. And release the prisoners to give us an Army" Draco replied
"Where is the locket" Blaise asked after a moment of contemplation. No one replied until Ron started fidgeting
"Ronald" Hermione scalded as Ron pulled the chain from his neck. Instantly you could see the change in his persona.
"Well you guys left it laying around.I didn't know if it could get stolen. I'm sorry" he said apologetically
"It's fine just, tell us next time" Hermione asked. He nodded.
"So. We need to find out what this other item is" Hermione said.
They paid and went back to their hotel room. Managing to get a presidential suite so they had one joined living room and bedrooms going off to all sides
Hermione pulled out of her extendable bag a lot of books
"Ok, start reading. See what we can find on Ravenclaw. Books given out as follows:
Me- Hogwarts a History
Draco – A biography of the Founders of Hogwarts
Harry – Secrets of Ravenclaw
Ron – Rowena, woman or saint
Neville – Secrets of the Castle Hogwarts
Ginny – Inside the Walls of Hogwarts
Fred – Hogwarts' Hidden Facts
George – The oh so real battle between Ravenclaw and Slytherin
Blaise – salzars' victory
Theo – The Wind of the Whomping Willow Tree" they picked up their designed books and begun reading. Opting that the next day they will start travelling as far north as they can. If they could get anywhere near Hogsmede they were fine. But it would be a 5 day trip so it wouldn't seem suspicious on bus cameras.
They put their books down at 1am, tired and no one had found anything. Except George seemed rather fascinated with his book
"It's just funny. Rowena always seems to have this tiara on. Every picture, every painting. It's described in Slytherins diary and letters well as well. But I can't see her ghost wearing it…" he said
"True. But ghosts don't wear jewellery" Ron said
"No. But ghosts can have items to go with them. Like nearly headless nick and his sword" Hermione said
"Ah. So do you think the tiara is a Horcrux?" Harry asked
"It has been missing for centuries. It's possible. But I don't know where we would start to look for it
"What does it look like?" Draco asked. George showed him a picture
"Bloody hell. I know exactly where that is!" He said
"Where?" Hermione asked
"Room of hidden things, at Hogwarts. I did some work for the Dark Lord last year and it was always there. Ringing in my ear. I thought it was because it was haunted. Well. I was almost right" Draco said
"Ok. So we have our last Horcrux. It's time to think of a battle plan once we get there" Hermione said. Noticing how Ron didn't react to Draco saying he worked for the Dark Lord. The locket had a really bad effect on Ron
