Welcome back for another chapter of No Way Back. Another quick one out without it being any shorter. I am slightly impressed with myself at getting this much done in such a short amount of time.

I would like to thank all of you for giving this story a shot. I have to say that the audience numbers are higher than I thought they would be. I don't really know much about the fans of this series, so I was unsure of the reception to it. Regardless, I will write on.

I guess I should spend some time responding to some of the guest reviews. Let's see what we got here:

Reading Beta: Unless that markings r just for show, maybe he could use magic now. Update soon.

The markings don't contain magic itself... yet? It will have significance later on. That is all I will really say for the moment since this story will be a balance between actual plot and slice-of-life. If you have read my biggest story, you will know the format I am taking. Anyways, update is here and I plan on being punctual with the future chapters.

Dylan02: Great chapter nice work

Thank you. I always try my best to make good content.

Beyond that, there isn't much else to address. I hope you enjoy this chapter. It should be a familiar-ish plot with major tweeks here and there. I did say I was starting after Episode 1. ;)

Chapter 3: Loo Loo Land

I stared into the mirror right back at myself with a deep look through the mist. I wasn't scrutinizing anything that was on my face or anything, it was my face after all. Instead, I was just left in a trance about how much time had passed since I have been in Hell. Well, I guess I should say how little time. Today was the start of my second full day here. I had been cooped up in this office for that entire time, but today feels like it might be better.

I looked down at the counter beside the sink to see the ring that had been given to me the evening before. I say 'given', but I really meant 'thrown' at me. Blitzo wasn't exactly known for being levelheaded toward the others. I guess I shouldn't expect much difference in his attitude toward me, then.

I picked up the ring to get a look at it. It seemed a little ostentatious for my liking. It was a decent-sized ring with a large red gemstone in the center. It seemed like something that would come from an aristocrat's jewelry stash. Seeing as it was from Stolas, not that hard to imagine. Still, I was just relieved to be able to leave this place.

From what I was told, the ring worked simply by putting it on and my subconscious would know when to transform. I was unsure about that description of how it worked, and I was even more unsure of what I would look like with it on. Would I become red like the Imps with a tail and horns? Would I become like Loona and another hound? Wait. Would this ring physically change me completely, or would it just disguise me in a very basic way? It sounds like a complete physical change to my body would be excruciating.

I continued to roll the ring within the grasp of my thumb and index finger in thought about what would happen if I put it on. Instead of dwelling on the dark thoughts, I decided that there was only one way to find out. I held the ring steady as I prepared to slip it on.

I slid it on and instantly felt the slightly tight fit of it on my finger. I guess that was preferential to it slipping off, being discovered, and then being torn apart by whatever demon sees me. I looked at it on my finger for a moment before looking back at the mirror. I let out a few deep breaths before I tried to relax and see if that worked into changing my form.

To my surprise, a swirl of darkness consumed me in a chaotic vortex before disappearing nearly as quickly. I didn't feel like there was any pain to the process, nor did I feel the vapor. I just felt… different. Well, not physically, but I could tell that something had changed with me. Additionally, there was barely a sound to the transformation at all. It just sort of happened with the sound of rushing air.

I looked back to the mirror and was left in awe of what had changed. The first thing that I noticed was that my blue eyes completely changed to a completely blackened sclera with a crimson iris and vertical slit pupil. There wasn't even a change in how I saw things… My gaze then moved to look at the rest of my facial features. My skin had lost all its life and color for an ashy gray, and my hair darkened completely to black and looked messier than before. Any facial markings like the very few, small scars seemed to stand out way more than they did before like tattoos on my skin. I opened my mouth and looked at my teeth to see little change in them. The rest of my mouth had darkened significantly as well. I guess it was good that nothing felt different.

More than just my body changed. My rather casual clothing had sharpened up where it looked like I was attending some somewhat-formal event. My shirt, which was once a graphic t-shirt, had transformed into a mahogany button-down that was tucked in. My jeans had become black slacks with a belt, and my shoes were now leather and shiny.

I couldn't help but look at my wrist to see the same mark as before. Now, it had become very red and angry looking. I still notice no change other than that, thank Go… Umm, whatever… My fingers brushed over it lightly in curiosity about why I had gotten it and what it could have meant.

I looked back at my reflection to see no other notable changes. There wasn't a tail, wings, horns, or any additional fur from what I could tell. It was me, but it was me without all of humanity from before. I was going to blend into the background like this, and that was the entire point of all of it.

I muttered, "Holy shit."

There was a knock on the door alerting me instantly. My gaze shifted over in concern before the voice of Moxxie muffled through it, "Kyle, are you alright in there? Blitzo sent me over to come and get you. You have been in there for quite some time."

Instead of answering directly, I unlocked the door and opened it without changing my form. I looked down at the Imp as his eyes widened and his jaw dropped. He uttered, "Oh, crumbs…"

I let out a slightly amused huff, "I assume that it isn't half bad?"

Moxxie collected himself before responding, "N-No, not at all. I can't even tell that you are human at all. You just look like another… demon."

"Good. I don't need anything fancy as long as it works. I guess I am thankful to not have to go through any major transformation. I don't need to learn something new." I stepped past Moxxie before heading back to the office. I stated, "Might as well get a few more opinions."

Moxxie followed me as I opened the door to the reception area with only Loona present. She barely glanced up from inspecting her nails. She boredly stated, "Sorry, we are closed. You are going to have to-" Her voice dropped out as her eyes connected with me for a second before she critically inspected me. Her eyes went wide for a moment before she said, "Holy shit... Kyle?"

I smirked a little, "Not exactly a good description of how I look. I could take that the wrong way." Loona only looked back at me with a faux-irritated look in return. I then asked, "What do you think?"

Loona's eyes scanned over me for a moment moving from bottom to top. I waited patiently while her eyes traced over me before she smirked. She gave me her opinion, "Well, at least you look a little more intimidating than Fatty here."

With an insulted look, Moxxie responded, "I don't get why you keep saying that. I'm not fat!"

I shrugged off the shot at Moxxie before saying to him, "If you don't think it is true, just ignore her." I then looked back at the Hellhound, "I will take that as a compliment. I don't really care about being intimidating. I just want to blend in." I looked at myself a little more to make sure I didn't stand out.

Loona responded, "Being intimidating will help keep someone off your back. I would say that is something that you need if you are wanting to blend in."

I guess there was a lot about Hell I still had to learn. Based on the minimal contact I have had with those in Hell, which were those in the room and Stolas, I would say that those here were a bit brasher and unafraid. Killing, death, and risk didn't seem to register as much for them. So, Loona had a point.

I was about to respond to her, but I was interrupted by Blitzo's office door flying open revealing himself and Millie. The female Imp seemed completely starry-eyed and excited for some reason. Blitzo also seemed to be smiling with enthusiasm. I am sure that I was about to find out what he was happy about.

"Good. The entire crew is here." He looked at me, "You have finally decided to abandon that awful human look for something more suitable."

I frowned deeply, and my form changed back to normal in a black swirl. He was making a point, and I wasn't pleased with it. I responded sharply, "I am not abandoning being human, jackass." I let out a sigh before smiling, "Interestingly, you are the one speaking about looking 'awful'. Your ugly mug isn't that pleasing to look at, you know."

"Well, there some will disagree, okay?" Blitzo then pointed at Moxxie and Millie, "I know M and M will agree with me."

Moxxie looked befuddled, "Say what now?"

Before we could get into it further, Loona growled out, "Shut the fuck up!" She then snarled before looking at Blitzo, "Will you just stop your petty bullshit and tell us why you wanted to talk to all of us."

Blitzo looked in surprise at the Hellhound as he seemed to completely forget what he wanted to do. He broke out of his shock before smirking, "Oh, right!" He pointed at Moxxie, Millie, and me in order, "Moxxie, Millie,… and human, we are going to Loo Loo Land."

Loona let out a sound of disgust before focusing on her phone to drone out the conversation. I looked at Blitzo with confusion while I responded, "Loo Loo Land?"

Millie beamed before exploding with joy, "Loo Loo Land!"

Moxxie asked, "Uhh, why are we going to Loo Loo Land, sir?"

It seemed like the exciting part for him fogged his mind from explaining the 'why' of our excursion. Without missing a beat in confidence, Blitzo explained, "Since we can't portal up to satisfy our clients, I was looking for ways that we could still make money. Stolas and his daughter… umm… I forget her name. Well, Stolas and his daughter are spending a day at Loo Loo Land and are willing to pay us as protection."

Blitzo stood proudly in front of us as he was undoubtedly thinking about how smart he was. Then, Moxxie hesitantly came up to him, "Sir, I would have thought his Highness would contact you before you willingly approached him with this." Blitzo's puffed-out chest deflated at the smaller Imp's words. He remained silent until Moxxie continued, "Also, why would he and his daughter need protection? Surely, he is more than capable of taking care of himself."

Blitzo angrily replied through his teeth, "Moxxie, don't question it. We have been promised a payment amounting to… a fuck-ton of money." Blitzo shook off how stupid that sounded before saying, "Whatever gets us money in the meantime will have to work. If I say we are selling ourselves on the corner, you aren't going to question it. We will do what we can to keep these doors open. Are you going to argue with me on that?!" Moxxie remained silent as a response since he saw how pointless it would be to argue, for which Blitzo took as a small victory, "Good. All of us would be helpful, but I already know my little girl wants nothing to do with theme parks. Loony shouldn't mind holding down the fort while we are gone."

I asked, "Why do you need me to go? I doubt I will be that much help with any sort of protection. I don't exactly kill anymore if you remember correctly."

"Too fucking bad! I already told the bird that you will be on this mission, and you will kill whatever asshole gets between us and a payday. I don't want to find out that you are a useless bag of meat." Blitzo then rubbed his temples, "If you can't get through a protection job, then how can I trust you when we need to get shit done in the human world." He gestured with irritated movements, "If it helps your little human brain get the job done, think about this: You wouldn't be indiscriminately killing, it would be killing with a purpose. We are protecting Stolas and his daughter. You will be fine killing if it means you are protecting someone else, won't you?"

"Uhh…" I stated matter-of-factly, "Fine, but my chances of killing people again are slim." I mulled it over before conceding, "If I am needed for this mission, I guess I will do what I can. I doubt it will come to that since I am almost certain that Stolas just wants your attention from all this from what I have seen."

I glanced over to Moxxie because of what he implied about Stolas and his daughter not needing protection. That, and it isn't that hard to see how sexually charged the owl demon got whenever Blitzo was around. This mission should serve as a place for me to try out my new disguise. That was most likely the reason I was going on this mission. Still, I wasn't entirely comfortable walking around alone. Being a third wheel to Moxxie and Millie sounded awkward and awful, and I wanted to be between Stolas and Blitzo even less than that. My eyes then turned to Loona. If only she were going…

Blitzo spoke while I paid him no mind, "Sure, fine. Even though you aren't a killing virgin, I see that I am just going to have to adjust slowly with you." He turned to the rest of the group, "Grab your shit and get ready. We are leaving soon."

The group disbanded which lead me to walk over to Loona. I didn't even beat around the bush as I asked, "So, why aren't you going?"

Loona didn't even bother to look away from the screen, "Are you kidding? Loo Loo Land is just a shitty, overpriced, copycat amusement park with no appeal. Why the fuck would I want to waste my time there?" She then looked me over to see my unmoving posture. She began to piece together what I was getting at, "Wait, you are wanting me to go, aren't you?"

I pointed out, "Well if it going to be as shitty as you make it sound, it would be nice to at least pass the time with someone. The others aren't that good of choices, so do you blame me for asking you?" Loona just glared back with an unwavering expression. I pointed out, "Does sitting here alone for the day sound any better? You can probably scroll through your phone there."

Those points didn't seem to connect well with her, "Sitting here does sound better because I won't be there. Plus, I could use some alone time here. I only get that if you all go to Loo Loo Land without me."

While she seemed adamant about staying here, I knew that there had to be something I could say to get her to come. I tried one last time, "I know it is a lot to ask, especially since I have only known you for a few days, but will you do this solid for me and come along? It will be absolute shit learning about Hell without some sort of crutch."

Loona pinched the bridge of her nose with an annoyed look. She mumbled, "You have got to be fucking kidding." She snapped a little, "Fine! I will go to fucking Loo Loo Land. Happy?! You probably won't stop bitching at me about it when you come back." I mentally fist-pumped myself in success until Loona prodded my chest with her claw, "But you will owe me for putting up with this shitty park."

I nodded with conviction while smiling, "I wouldn't bitch at you, but I will repay you in full. Thank you for this."

Loona rolled her eyes before yelling out, "Ugh, Blitzo! You better have one more seat in your shit-wagon! I am going with you guys!"

Moxxie looked through one of the doorways with a baffled look, "Say what now?"

Blitzo burst through his door with pure excitement, "You changed your mind, Loony Toony?!"

I snorted in response to the nickname while Loona growled with a small blush on her face. She spat back, "Call me that again and I will shove my foot so far up your ass you will be cleaning shit from your teeth!"

Loona grabbed her phone without the angry expression leaving her features. I waited awkwardly around not wanting to aggravate the Hellhound anymore. There was no need to say anything that could get me maimed. She was going with us, and that was a small victory that I needed to take for the moment. Who knows, maybe this 'Loo Loo Land' wasn't going to be as bad as depicted. Millie seemed to like it, so there had to be some reason.

Later…

I was back in my disguise while the members of I.M.P. along with Stolas and his daughter, Octavia, rode through the Greed Ring of Hell to Loo Loo Land. The impressions that I had gotten of everything I had seen on the drive thus far had been, well, relatively neutral. The Pride Ring had felt like the sky was eternally in a sunset through the red atmosphere. In contrast, it was brighter due to the lighter green in the air.

Still, I could tell that this place lived up to its name. Many shops since arriving seemed to be designed with cheap facades, filled with cheap items, and out there to garner attention and make money. Many of the beings walking around buying and working these places seemed to be Imps as well. All in all, it was a place where the top made as much money here without spending that much.

Much to my predictions, Loo Loo Land seemed to be a similar representation of everything else around here. The park seemed to be decrepit and falling apart even from the very first signs. I wasn't looking forward to spending the day at this place, and I wasn't the only one. Loona's scowl never disappeared while on the drive, and Octavia seemed to be in a mood similar to that of the Hellhound.

Speaking of Octavia, she wasn't exactly what I expected for the daughter of powerful royalty of hell. I analyzed her with a careful eye from behind while she continued to look around pessimistically. She was a teen, but I didn't expect her to be dressed like one with her pink dress with yellow stars, black beanie, choker, leggings, and boots. Additionally, she didn't act all that privileged compared to her unique position in hell. She just seemed like another individualistic teenage. It was eerily familiar to what I had known in the human world.

Anyways, I had become preoccupied with my own thinking for long enough. We parked near the entrance of the amusement park, and most of the group exited the van after Moxxie rushed to open the sliding door. Stolas exited first with the light shining on his ridiculous 'Loo Loo Land' themed clothing. It was a bit much seeing as I think even dads wouldn't want to embarrass their families in similar means. Octavia exited afterward with a look of shame present on her avian face.

From the very back of the van, Loona and I were the last to exit. I looked around at the very empty parking lot and then up to Loo Loo Land itself. It was very unimpressive even up close. Everyone seemed to be walking up to the gateway causing me to catch up to at least Loona.

I spoke with an amused, but unimpressed voice, "This is Loo Loo Land? I guess this is going to be a really long day, isn't it."

Loona rolled her eyes, "No, shit. I think the only one who wants to be here is Millie." Loona pointed over to the female Imp who was star-struck with the attractions. On the other hand, Moxxie seemed stressed, Blitzo serious, Stolas flirtatious, and Octavia seemed like she would rather be anywhere else. Loona continued after I looked over everyone, "I am surprised that this even happened."

I looked back to Blitzo and Stolas, the latter currently flirting with the former. I became a little clearer as I watched the two, and then over to Octavia standing to the side uneasily. I pinched the bridge of my nose, "You have got to be fucking kidding." Loona looked over to me with confusion as I spoke, "This was never a protection job. Whether Blitzo knows it or not, this is about Stolas trying to get into your father's pants."

Loona sneered back, "Don't call him that. He isn't my father."

I offhandedly said, "Sorry." I continued, "The rest of us are here to fit the illusion of a protection job. That means what Moxxie was suggesting was probably close to the truth. Stolas isn't in danger here no matter what we see. Also, Blitzo's allusion to us working the street corner if needed isn't far off from what we are doing here. This is basically a paid date for the two, and that means…" I pointed toward Octavia.

A look of understanding encompassed Loona before one of fury overcame her. She clenched her phone in anger as she bared her teeth. She spoke with venom, "Are you fucking kidding me?! I am going to rip Blitzo a new hole that they can use."

I grabbed Loona's arm before she could go confront her boss and adoptive father. I shook my head, "No, don't do that. While I don't think this will end particularly well, you can't address the elephant in the room."

I let her go and she stood still to listen to me. She asked with similar anger to before, "Then what should I do? I know what it is like to deal with Blitzo's constant bullshit. I can't just let him extend it to that girl!"

I nodded, "I know, but you would be interjecting yourself into a situation that should be between Stolas and his daughter. You could irreversibly damage their relationship from something we don't fully understand. For all we know, Stolas could just be confusing his sex life with his personal life and parental duties." I facepalmed again, "And I dragged you into this mess…"

This thought didn't seem to sit well with Loona. She snarked back, "I think you have a little learning to do about us and Hell. You are giving us too much credit." She stepped away before turning about and saying, "Also, yeah. Thanks for dragging me along, dick."

We continued to walk up to the rest of the group. Before we got to them, I said to her in almost a whisper into her ear, "Maybe, but that is just my humanity. Don't forget who I really am under all of this."

I didn't wait for a response as we caught up with the group. Blitzo spoke, "Took you two long enough. This isn't a leisurely stroll through an amusement park. We are on a job."

Octavia asked in pessimism, "Dad, can we just go? I don't want to spend the entire day here."

Stolas responded in a tone that was exactly the opposite of his daughters, "Come on, Octavia. After a few rides, I am sure you will remember what delightful memories we share here. We can even make a few new ones." His voice went hoarse before turning to Blitzo and speaking, "Don't you agree, Blitzy."

Blitzo let out a groan, "Of fucking course it is going to be like this…" He then turned to his crew including Loona and me before he smiled, "Moxxie and Millie, you guys can take a load off and enjoy the park."

Moxxie was swiftly pulled by the arm by Millie who ran off. I could hear her say, "Thanks, Blitzo! Come on, Moxxie. There is so much I want to do!"

A look of dejection was present throughout Moxxie's form as he was dragged by many of the tents of overpriced food items and games. I looked on with a crooked brow before focusing back on Blitzo. He then pointed at Loona and me, "You two will be with me."

Stolas interjected, "Actually, Blitzy, I think that they should also go off and have fun. Surely you can protect me on your own." The large bird traced his finger along Blitzo's horn in a sensual manner.

I looked on uncomfortably while both Loona and Octavia looked on as if they we going to vomit. Octavia spat out, "I think I am going to be literally sick."

Loona spoke similarly, "Tell me about it."

Blitzo smacked the hand away from his horn and spoke softly, "Don't do that, bitch. I am on the job."

I offered, "Loona and I can just hang back in the distance. It will give us a more layered defense against whoever might try to attack the prince."

Blitzo snapped and smiled, "That works!" He then leaned towards Loona and said, "Just keep back enough to not look like you are following. Got it? Also, here is some spending money for this expensive ass place." Blitzo fished some cash out of his pocket before handing it to the Hellhound.

Loona nodded while taking the money, "Got it."

Blitzo practically beamed, "I am so proud to have you on a mission, Loony. I just wish we could spend more time together on this one."

With a distant look, Loona backed up and began to walk away. She dismissively spoke back, "Yeah, sure."

The trio of Stolas, Octavia, and Blitzo continued onward through the amusement park with differing levels of enjoyment for the three while Loona and I stayed in the background and watched. We didn't engage in any of the games since none of them were worth it. To be honest, it was very familiar to me despite the Imps and other demons walking around.

I spoke up to Loona, "You know, this place would probably fit in comfortably in my world. It kind of reminds me of the carnivals I would go to when I was a kid."

Loona's ear flicked over to me right when I looked over. She was in the process of posting a very bored-looking selfie on 'Sinstagram'. While writing a caption, she responded, "Really? There are as big of shitholes like this in the human world."

I scratched my head as I thought. I nodded, "Well, yeah. I guess it isn't as extreme in the categories as here, but the food and items are cheap and overpriced, the rides seem like hazards, there is always someone's kid crying, and there is some pervert all dressed up." I proceeded to point to the stores, rides, a kid crying in his mother's grasp, and then to the mascot in order of what I said.

This elicited a questioning look from the Hellhound as she lowered her phone. She asked, "And did you go willingly to these places? Your parents took you to them?"

"Well, either one of my parents would. I would love to go to these kinds of things when I was a kid because I get up in a small town. There wasn't much going on, and it would happen right at the end of summer right before school started." I smiled a little at the thought before saying, "Other than that, there wasn't much to do."

Loona partially joked back, "Doesn't seem like a place I would want to grow up in."

I let out a huffed laugh before saying, "No, it doesn't really sound like it would be." There was a moment of silence between us as we continued to walk forward. There was a bang from Blitzo shooting which shook us out of our thoughts. We saw the other thuggish demons surrounding Stolas flee away at the sight of the gun-toting imp. The prince just seemed inconvenienced that Blitzo didn't save him faster.

Instead of going to help immediately, Loona and I just stayed back. I then asked, "So, what about you?"

"What about me?"

I elaborated, "What was your childhood like? Or would it be called something else here?"

The Hellhound's look dropped at the question before she replied, "Nothing I would like to talk about. Just know that Blitzo adopted me right before I turned 18, and I am the way I am now because of that shit. I am sure that I am just as fucked up as everyone else around here."

I frowned, "It sounds like you are implying that there is no good here. That you are saying you are incapable of good."

Loona shrugged it off before saying, "I am saying that I don't really trust you yet, and I don't trust anyone else. Hell is a place that fucks you up and spits you out. You can't count on anyone."

I thought for a moment since I didn't expect a conversation like this to happen with Loona. I would have thought talking about our childhoods would just be another relaxed topic to pass time. I could have let off on this, but it just didn't feel right to me. I had shitty parts in my life, but to not trust anyone because you have been wronged a few times? That was overreacting.

I finally said, "I disagree. If that were true, I would have been killed by you at this point. It took trust in Moxxie, Millie, you, and others for me to even begin to try and live here." I smirked before saying, "Not only that, but you also were furious when we learned why we are really here. Not as protection, but as accessories to Stolas's and Blitzo's sex lives. You cared about what was being done around Octavia. That shows that you have a good heart. You just need to connect with others and trust in them."

Loona growled back, "Don't fucking say that! I know that I am a fucking mess, so why can't you just accept that?!"

I shook my head, "Because it isn't true." I put my hand on her shoulder before saying, "There is always a choice to be made. I get that shitty stuff probably happened to you, but to not trust anyone?"

"It is!" Loona collected herself enough to not create attention for us. She then harshly removed my hand from her shoulder. She continued after doing that, "Look, we all make mistakes. The reason I feel for that girl is that I see that she is a little like me, but not as rough. She hasn't gotten that chance to meet the average guy or girl in Hell. I may not be evil like some of them, but I am not good."

We were at a stalemate. Neither one of us was going to accept the other's view on this. We had generalized beyond what was an argument of one Hellhound. I don't know what happened to her to make her views like this, but I was about to find out.

Loona growled, "You aren't going to get it, are you? Fine. Do you want to know a little bit about why I don't trust anyone? Well, I once thought I met a nice guy at the bar. Do you know what he did? He boozed me up, we fucked, and he left me with a little present before dipping out of my life completely."

I guessed, "He knocked you up?"

"No, he gave me a disease instead," She replied. Her rage grew a little, she clenched a fist, and continued, "He tainted me and left me a little more fucked up. Do you know what it is like to live with something like Syphilis? Something you have to deal with for the rest of your life?" Her eyes were slightly watering, but no tears were going to fall. It took a lot from her to say that, and my reaction was surprising.

Wait. What?

I opened my mouth a few times to reply, but I couldn't find the words. Loona took it like she came up with a compelling argument, but I was instead baffled that she didn't know there were ways of easily dealing with that. I just didn't know how to break it to her.

Finally, words found their way passed my lips with an even voice, "Look, what happened to you is horrible. He took advantage of you and had only selfish intent from the moment he saw you. Still, should you base your outlook and actions based on moments like those? The past shouldn't have any hold on your future." I then pointed out, "Plus, there are ways of dealing with Syphilis."

Loona's anger was replaced entirely by confusion. She asked, "What do you mean?"

I was about to start explaining, but someone decided to bump right into Loona as if they didn't see her. Loona spun around with fury and remarked, "Hey! Watch it, motherfucker!"

The offender was an imp, probably one that worked at the park based on his clothing and demeanor. What he did looked entirely intentional because of the lack of traffic around the two of us. Only a few Imps here and there would walk by before he came through. Loona was pissed, and I was irritated.

The Imp looked back mockingly, "Oh, I didn't notice you there, hound. You shouldn't be around here alone. Shouldn't you be with your master?"

Loona exposed her teeth while her hair seemed to stand on end a little bit. She looked like she wanted to maul the Imp in front of her. I was unsure whether this guy was intentionally ignoring me, or what. I just stood off to the side with a surprised look at how he was speaking to Loona.

After a moment of growling, Loona responded, "Shouldn't you mind your own business, shorty?"

Loona looked like she wanted to punch the guy in the face until I grabbed him by the shoulder. I spoke candidly, "Do you have a problem with her? What's the big idea in interrupting our conversation?"

I expected the imp to be inflammatory toward me as well, but I was taken off guard by his expression going from one of irritation to a scared and apologetic one. He began fumbling with his words, "I-I'm s-s-sorry, sir. I t-t-thought she w-w-was c-causing trouble over h-h-here. I d-didn't realize she w-was y-your Hellhound."

Loona and I responded at the same time.

"His Hellhound?"

"My Hellhound?"

This insinuation didn't leave Loona happy whatsoever, and I was just left confused. Instead of allowing her to respond angrily to the confused imp, I cut in. I responded, "How about you just mind your own business."

The Imp seemed to be sweating bullets as he quickly left me and Loona alone. His departure didn't stop Loona from glaring daggers. I remained confused as I asked, "Uhh, that was kind of random. What was that about?"

Loona growled out, "That was just another lesson in how fucked up this place is." She then looked at me with an analyzing gaze before saying, "It looks like your disguise was even better than I thought it would be. That Imp must have thought you were nobility, or at least upper-class somehow."

I looked at her with questions popping up in my head. I had to ask, "Okay, but why make a big scene with you? What was that all about? Why did he call you 'my' Hellhound?"

Loona pinched the bridge of her nose in irritation. I don't know if it was because she had to explain this to me, or if she was angry about something else. Regardless, she began to explain, "Look, Hell has a hierarchy where Imps and Hellhounds reside at the bottom. We are below Sinners, and we are below all the other denizens of Hell. Due to… circumstances from the top, Hellhounds are viewed as even below Imps. Most don't outright make a scene of it as that asshole did, but their comments will usually reflect that feeling. Usually, Hellhounds like me would be in subservient roles and jobs."

I pieced it together, "Which means he thought you were my servant?" She nodded while looking away and down. I let out a huff, "Fuck that!"

Loona looked back at me with surprise and confusion, "What?"

I said, "That is just stupid. I am not going to view you like that even though that is how this place is. You are my friend, and Hell's hierarchy won't change that."

At a loss for words, Loona was silent for a moment while blushing. I could tell that she didn't exactly call me a friend yet, but that was alright with me. She had explained how harsh this place was, and I was given an immediate example. She mumbled, "Yeah, sure…"

"Good. Now, I was saying that there is a way-"

Loona's ears popped up and she held up a hand while scanning around. She said, "Uhh, where did they go?"

I looked around for a moment in confusion before I realized she was talking about Blitzo, Stolas, and Octavia. They had disappeared somewhere while we were preoccupied. I scratched my head in through as I scanned where they were last. I then noticed a large tent with various signs pinned up outside. I pointed, "Uhh, perhaps there?"

With a look of dread, Loona responded, "Why would they go there? That fucking clown is awful."

I didn't even question it as we both moved to the tent. From the various signs outside, this 'Robo Fizz' did seem a bit disconcerting. He seemed more menacing than a clown, but I guess that was how a lot of people view clowns. I just didn't see the appeal, especially concerning children, hellish or not.

We rushed in just in time to catch the very end of some song and the sound of a gunshot. Blitzo had just ended another assassin-to-be and was praised sensually by the bird. I could then hear Octavia scream out, "Ugh, I can't do this anymore!"

The younger owl demon ran away with Stolas finally realizing his mistakes of today and going after her. On the other hand, Blitzo began to engage in a spat with Robo Fizz on the stage. In other words, everything had turned into a complete shitshow around here. The first thing there was to do was to ignore whatever the hell Blitzo was getting into and follow Stolas and Octavia.

It seems like Loona understood my priorities as she followed behind me without hesitation. I asked her as we chased the other two down, "Do I want to know what Blitzo is doing?"

"I guess you could say that they have some history with one another."

I spoke with humor, "Well, alright. That is all I need to know."

Ahead of us, we could see a few thugs hiding in the shadows with shining eyes right. Octavia was entering a Funhouse with Stolas behind her, and the eyes watched him intensely. They would be undoubtedly looking to take the prince from the shadows before he could confront his daughter. I was split on what to do here, but I didn't need to make the decision.

Loona growled, "I will deal with them. You just find the horny bird's daughter!"

Loona split off from me while I chased down the area Octavia into the structure. Before I entered completely, I could see a glowing green from the flames that were quickly encompassing some of the attractions. Whatever was happening behind me didn't matter. All that mattered was making sure Octavia was alright, both in terms of the job and emotionally.

I slowed down when I entered the room when I was not able to find the girl immediately. I walked slowly through the way it directed me seeing as I didn't have a better option. The dark rooms shared signs like 'Smile' and 'Have Fun', and they seemed to be conflicting words from what I have seen today. Today just seemed to be filled with disappointment, sadness, anger, and emptiness.

I finally entered through an apple-shaped entryway to a room with four apples spinning slowly around a conveyor. This was the only reasonable room left. Where could she have gone?

As if to answer my question immediately, the ride spun around and gave me a view of the owl demon sitting on one of the carts hugging her knees. She let out a few tears and sniffles and hadn't even noticed me enter the room. From the sight, I didn't feel like I was looking at someone who had grown up in Hell all her life. Instead, Octavia just seemed like another teenage girl.

I walked up hesitantly, but with enough determination to make her feel better. She was the victim of what had happened here today. None of the others who were dragged along on this pointless job were. Not me, Loona, Moxxie, Millie, or Blitzo even. Still, I had a feeling that her sadness originated from something else beyond being unwillingly dragged to Loo Loo Land.

I finally made it to her cart. Octavia looked at me for a split moment before looking back down. I asked gently while pointing to the opposite end of the bench, "Mind if I sit here?"

She wiped away a few tears from her cheeks and sniffled. She then responded, "Sure, whatever."

I sat down and remained silent for a moment while Octavia continued her sounds of sadness. She tried to collect herself a little more with me sitting with her. I inelegantly tried to engage in conversation several times before I managed to say, "Are you doing alright?"

She took a few seconds before replying, "No, not really. I never even wanted to come to this stupid place."

"Look, I just wanted to say that I understand that-"

Octavia cut me off, "I don't want to hear it! I don't want to hear how you understand what I am going through." She wiped away her tears completely before. She collected herself enough to explain, "My parents just scream at each other ever since my dad said he wanted a divorce. My mom," Octavia let out a hollow laugh, "My mom just uses me against my dad. I am not even mad or surprised by that. That has always been who she was. But my dad… My dad…"

The teen let out a few more tears as her voice fumbled. I just sat there quietly with the intent to let her finish and listen to her. I know that she had been ignored for probably the entire day up to this point. This was her time to be heard, even if it was by someone whom she didn't even know.

Octavia finally collected herself enough to continue speaking, "My dad has always been there for me. Even though my parents are splitting, I always felt like he would be around, you know? That is before he brought me to this stupid park to prance around and flirt with some weird, red dickhead the entire time. I just wished things would go back to the way things were." She hugged her knees before speaking softer, "Where home felt like home, and I didn't question whether my dad would leave me behind."

I looked forward and saw Loona and Stolas standing there near where I entered. I don't exactly know when they arrived, but I do know that they managed to catch a bit of the conversation. I could see the dismayed look on Loona's from where I sat. Her ears weren't as perky, her eyes were a little more dilated. Even her fluffy tail seemed to be droopier than usual. I could also see the heartbroken expression on Stolas's face while he hesitated between approaching and staying where he was. Then, a glare from his daughter made him stay where he was.

I looked down at my hands until my eyes settled on the ring around my finger. I was indecisive about what to do next. Her words carried a lot of emotional weight with them, and I was still unsure if I was even the right person to talk to her. Whether it was a smart choice or not, I made up my mind about what to do.

With a glance around to see if there was anything that could catch me. I then let out a sigh before a swirl surrounded me revealing my true form. I dared not look over at the demon teen to my side as I was petrified by what her reaction would be. I was meeting her almost 'all the way' with how much trust and faith I was putting in her not to freak out. Part of me hoped that this trust would get her to listen to me despite what I was to her.

I heard a small gasp of surprise before she said, "A human? How-" Even Loona and Stolas were shocked that I showed myself to her. Still, they said nothing.

I held up my hand to stop her before I began to speak, "I know how you feel. I was probably a little younger than you were when my parents' fighting reached the point where they decided to split up. It wasn't a peaceful split, either. No, they fought over anything and everything they could from the house to the car to everything else in the house. They would do everything they could to try and bring pain to the other. Their favorite thing to use against the other was me."

This time, Octavia listened intently to what I had to say. It was almost as if I were speaking to a human teen, and I am sure she was looking past my human looks. For now, I just had to focus on what I was saying.

"They would fight over who would get me for what weeks and holidays. While they were fighting, they never paid attention to the person that they were fighting over." I let out an empty laugh before saying, "They also dated some people in jabs at each other. I don't think they realized the weekends and nights they left me home alone during those times. The only person that they managed to hurt was me, and I never said a word to them about it."

I took a deep breath before I looked at Octavia. Her glowing red eyes stared back at me intensely while I took my break. I was just happy that she was willing to listen to me at all.

I began to wrap up, "Where I am getting at is divorces usually take our parents' focus away from us. I can't say anything against your mom because I don't know her, but your dad still tried to spend time with you. Sure, he decided to do it in perhaps the worst amusement park I have ever been to." A small laugh from Octavia brought a small smile from me before I continued, "And he foolishly decided to try and spend time with my boss as well, but all that is more than I can say about my parents. He is going to be there for you. I know I don't have all the answers for you, so I can give you one more piece of advice. I know it kind of hurts, and you might not feel like it, but talk to your dad. It can be hard to do, but he can only listen to you if you tell him how you feel."

I pointed over to him so that Octavia would at least look at him. She got up from her seat slowly and rubbed off whatever tears were left over. After that little chat, she didn't feel like crying anymore. She began to walk over to Stolas while I followed behind. I stood beside Loona.

Stolas began to speak, "I'm so sorry for how I have been acting, my dear sweet Via. I know what is happening between your mother and me is the most difficult for you out of all involved. I should have thought of that before bringing you to this silly place, and I should have listened to you when you told me that you didn't want to come here." He then brought his daughter into a hug which she seemed to sink into. He continued, "Just know that I would never, ever leave you alone. I would never do that."

A small tear slid down Octavia's exposed cheek while a smile formed on her face. She spoke, "Thanks, dad. I love you."

Stolas seemed to hold onto her tighter, "I love you too, my princess." A moment or two passed before he released her. He grabbed her by the hand before saying, "Come on, it is time for us to leave this place. Let's go home."

That was probably the best decision he had made today. It was a small step, but it was a good one. I heard the owl teen say, "Hey, dad… Could we actually go to Stylish Occult, just the two of us? I want to check out their taxidermy."

Stolas smiled down at her, "Nothing would make me happier."

The two finally exited the room leaving only Loona and me alone. I was sort of lost in thought until Loona bumped her shoulder into my shoulder. I looked over slightly stunned by the contact. She smiled lightly at me before saying, "Hey… You did good there."

I smirked, "Really? You don't think me revealing that I am a human was too much for her?"

With a shake of her head, Loona responded, "No. I think it provided enough of a kick in her ass to get her to listen to you. Plus, I doubt she will say anything to anyone else. Who knows what would have happened if you didn't step in."

I thought for a moment before stating, "I believe that Stolas would have come around eventually. I don't think I am the changing factor in all of this, nor do I think I was needed. He does really care for Octavia. Thank you, though."

Both Loona and I walked outside after I reverted forms to my more demonic one. Outside we got to see the large-scale destruction of Loo Loo Land. Moxxie and Millie were helping Blitzo shoot as Robo Fizz while the mechanical being spun around them. I couldn't help but joke about it, "I am still trying to figure out if the others are as capable."

"Well, they are at least good at burning this shithole to the ground. This should have happened a long time ago." Loona folded her arms while watching the chaotic scene unfold with a smile.

I smirked as well, "I guess I am glad that I bothered into coming, then. You wouldn't be here to watch something as great then."

Loona looked at me with a 'are you kidding me' look. She said, "Sure, this shitty day is better because of a small moment of something good." She paused while looking at it before saying, "You still owe me a favor, by the way."

I laughed, "Yeah, I suspected as much."

Something seemed to click for Loona as she changed the subject. She timidly asked, "So… We were talking about something else before all this shit happened."

There was a moment when I was confused before it finally clicked for me, "Oh yeah! We were talking about, well, your… you know."

"Disease."

I nodded, "Yeah, well I was saying that it is treatable. Well, it is pretty much curable. You just need good antibiotics."

Loona looked at me blankly before screaming, "Are you fucking kidding me?!"

I didn't know if I should approach what I said next seriously or jokingly. Therefore, I took a tone that was sort of in the middle, "Well, yeah. I am sort of surprised you didn't know that. I am guessing that guy who gave it to you didn't know. He is a dick, but he is also a fucking moron."

Loona pouted, "It's not like Blitzo knew either! Ugh!" Loona brushed her hand through her hair before saying, "Medication doesn't exactly come cheap down here. I don't know if-"

I placed my hand on her shoulder quieting her. She looked over at me while I said, "I don't want to interrupt your thoughts, but we can worry about that later. You still got that money Blitzo gave you?"

There wasn't much searching from the Hellhound as she held the money in her hand. After seeing it, I continued, "Since we are probably waiting on Blitzo and the other two while they do… whatever they are doing, why don't we go to a coffee shop. I am sure there is some joint with cheap, overpriced drinks around here somewhere."

With a pleased look, Loona responded, "Alright. That doesn't sound too bad to me." She then added softly, "Also, I am not sure how trusting I am of you, yet. But… I would like to think that I will trust you someday."

That got a wide smile from me as I decided there was nothing I should say after that. Instead, Loona and I walked side-by-side without another word out of the park just like Stolas and Octavia had done moments ago. I wasn't sure where we were going, but it was going to be a hell of a lot better than this place. Plus, it allowed me to think about how a lot happened today. Overall, I would say things had improved. Sure, it only took the destruction of a knockoff amusement park to get here, but some things are worth sacrificing. Sure, Millie might be disappointed. Still, it was all worth it.

There we go. That is another chapter down. I hope you enjoyed it well enough. Trying my best at balancing what there was for the show and making something unique.

If you enjoy this story and wish to support it, please feel free to Favorite, Follow, and/or Review for the story. It is both easy and free to do. Both qualities seem to fit in with Greed well enough. XD Enough of that shitty humor.

Beyond that, I thank you for reading. The next chapter will be completely unique once again as I won't be following an episode. Still figuring out what I want to do exactly, but I know basic plot points. I don't know when it will be out, but it shouldn't be horribly long until then.

I would also like to extend thanks to those who helped me with 'lore' or whatnot for this chapter and for the story overall. I don't usually keep up with that stuff very well, so I appreciate their efforts.

Until Next Time,
