Inside the dark fortress in the Twilight Realm and the Magic Temple
The figure in the amniotic fluid is floating, and is sensing what is going on in the Twilight Realm. Viper Razor entered the throne room, and the figure said "Rise, what news do you have Viper Razor?", and at this, Viper Razor steadied himself, then said "I have good news and bad news. The good news is that we now have complete control of the Twilight realm, except for the barricaded area that connects between Termina and here in the far north. The bad news is that I have lost contact with Normak, I think he's been defeated as well"
"Ugh, how have Midna, Link and Zelda gotten so powerful?" the "lord" asked. He then sent a message to Carliko, then turned back to Viper Razor and said "How much of your forces have you lost?" to which Viper razor replied with "About 100. A little under 3% of my force. However, 80 of those deaths were attempting to breach the walls of the barricaded area. I can't do much to break it"
"Alright, then hold back, but make sure that your forces are far enough back to easily avoid the attacks of the enemy. Now be on your way" the "lord" said, and at that, Viper Razor left.
Meanwhile in the Magic Temple
"Carliko, do you know where your Twili power room in your temple is?" the "lord" asked. Carliko replied with "I have no idea. I'll get one of my soldiers to check everywhere, to see if the room you're talking about is there, and if he finds it, to destroy it"
"Good, you had better do that quickly" the "lord" said. The communication was then cut. Turning to face his lieutenant, he said "Now, it's time for your job. To find, and destroy, the Twili secret room"
"Alright" the lieutenant said. He then departed.
Meanwhile with Link, Ilia, Zelda and Midna
It is late at night now. As Link, Midna, Zelda and Ilia walk out of the Hyrle Medical Center, Link asked "So how do you know about the third Temple?"
"I found out about the Magic Temple because Vexona was being told about the three temples by his lord, that's how I know" Ilia replied. Link nodded, then said "Well I'd better get you back home then Ilia, your father is going to be extremely worried about you" to which Ilia nodded.
"So, Link, I saw that you borrowed the book that I was previously reading, why were you reading it?" Zelda asked. Link replied with "I was looking for more information related to the possible location of the Magic Temple, and I have found it. It's to the West of Ordon Village, although it is a long way to the West" and at this, Zelda said "I'm going with you, I still haven't got the powerup that you and Midna have both got"
"Alright, that's fine with me" Midna said. Link nods, and said "That's fine, we're the only two that haven't teamed up with one of the temples". They then continued to walk.
Soon, they arrived at the horse pen. Link had managed to get Epona to the pen, and said to Midna "She needs a quick brush, then we'll head to the village" and at this, Midna nodded, grabbed the brush, and started brushing Epona. After about five minutes, Link and Ilia mounted Epona.
"Can I go with you?" Midna asked. Link replied with "Sure, if you want", Zelda said "I'll stay here tonight, I'll come and pick you up tomorrow, alright?" to which Link nodded. The three of them (Link, Midna and Ilia) then headed back towards the village. As they left, Zelda noted that Link seemed to be more interested in Midna than in her or Ilia. That made Zelda feel a little bit lonely.
When they arrived at the Ordon Village gate, Bo, Ilia's father and the mayor, along with Auru, were waiting for them.
"ILIA!" Bo yelled, and as Ilia climbed from Epona, she was hugged by Bo. He then said, "I want to thank both of you for rescuing her, and send my thanks to Zelda next time you see her for helping to cure the poison in her" Bo said. Link and Midna nodded, and both said "Thanks" before Link guided Midna to his hut. After a few minutes, Link climbed up to his hut, while Midna floated up. Link then said "There's one bed and one couch here, I'll take the couch, you take the bed. I'll get a couple of blankets, so you can keep your ankle raised, alright?" but at this, Midna said "I'll be fine on the couch" but Link said
"I insist, it's going to be easier for you to raise your leg on the bed, instead of on the couch"
"Fine" Midna said. She then floated up the stairs, and Link got a big blanket to allow Midna to raise her foot, and another one to allow her to sleep without getting cold. Link then curled up on the couch and went to sleep.
*The following morning*
Midna was the first to wake up, and when she floated down to the lower floor, she saw Link still asleep on the couch. She smiled, and gently wiped some of his hair out of his face. She then decided to head out. She was surprised to see Ilia waiting for her, or more likely Link, she thought, near the hut.
"Good morning Ilia" Midna said. Ilia asked, "Good morning Midna, is Link up yet?" and Midna replied with "Not yet"
"Alright then Midna, I know how we can kill time before Link gets up, how about I show you around the village?" Ilia asked. Midna replied with "Sure, that sounds good" and at this, Midna followed Ilia around the village.
About half an hour later, Link also awoke. He climbed down from his hut, and asked Auru "Where's Midna and Ilia?"
"Ilia's showing Midna around the village, they'll be back soon, so you can wait here" Link nodded, and waited.
About ten minutes later, Ilia and Midna return. Link smiled, and got hugs from both Ilia and Midna.
"So where are we going?" Midna asked. Link replied with "Zelda's probably coming here soon, so I think we should head over to wait for her" and both Midna and Ilia nodded, and they headed for the gate.
Just as they arrive, so does Zelda, who's holding a few pieces of paper in her hand.
"What have you got in your hand?" Link asked. Zelda replied with "Old maps of ancient Hyrle, including the location of the Magic Temple. Until very recently it had sunk under the ground, but now it's resurfaced"
"So that means that the third demon creature has also surfaced?" Link asked, to which Midna replied with "Almost certainly", finally Link turned to face Zelda and said "Well since we're the only two who haven't teamed up yet, I think it's time we did. And for you to get your massive power-up"
"Alright, but let's get inside so I can get this map opened up" Zelda replied. They then headed for Auru's house.
When they arrived at Auru's house, Zelda opened the paper, and, after about five minutes, they were looking at the map of Southwest Hyrle, including where both the old relic of the Magic Temple was and where the Hero of Time had gone when he travelled to and from Termina.
"OK, so there's where the Magic Temple is, and there's where the Hero of Time has sealed the gateway between Hyrle and Termina" Midna said. Link replied with "That's right, Ilia, Auru and Midna, can you three work on this map while Zelda and I find the Oath to Order, and get Zelda a major power increase, so she's as powerful as Midna and I?"
"Sure, I'm fine with that" Midna replied. Link then turned to Zelda, and asked "Are you ready?" to which Zelda, grabbing her staff, nodded.
"Then let's go" Link said, grabbing his Sword and Shield. The two of them then departed.
"Aren't you worried about Zelda taking Link from you?" Auru asked. Midna replied with "No, Link's more interested in me than Zelda. I reckon it's because of everything we did six months ago. The funny thing is, here everybody knows who I am and I'm unable to introduce myself, but in the Twilight Realm, Link's going to have the same experience, everybody knows who he is, so he's going to be unable to introduce himself"
"OK, interesting" Auru said.
Ilia then said, "And just to reassure you Midna, Link sees me more as a sister than a lover or friend, and I see him the same way, so don't worry, I won't take him" to which Midna nodded.
At that moment, someone came into the house, and said "You might want to check this out" and at this, Midna, Ilia and Auru leave the house. When they head outside, they see the sky has turned black.
"Wait, what time is it?" Midna asked. Ilia replied with "It's not even lunchtime, how is it night-time?" to which Auru replied with "This is the magic of Carliko, he's turned the sky dark, and it'll stay dark until Carliko is defeated"
Meanwhile on the passage between Ordon Village and the Magic Temple
As Link and Zelda walk towards the Magic Temple, they also see the sky turn black.
"What the?" Zelda asked. Link replied with "I think this is the magic of Carliko"
"And if I'm correct, to cure this, we have to defeat Carliko, the Magic Demon"
A few minutes further down, Zelda asked "Link, what are your feelings towards Midna? If you don't want to answer, I'll understand" it took Link several seconds to process answered "I'm sorry that I didn't admit to you about my true feelings. Yes, I do love Midna, during our travels six months ago, yes, I fell for her. I think she fell for me as well"
"So, why don't you tell her how you feel?" Zelda asked. Link replied with "I might, but we have to get back to the Twilight Realm and stop whatever it was that caused Midna to flee here first" he then turned to face Zelda, and was surprised to see that she wasn't upset.
"What the?" Link asked. Zelda replied with "OK, I understand. If you want to be with Midna, I won't stop you. Whatever makes you truly happy", Link nodded, then said " Don't think about it Zelda, we have a difficult Temple ahead, and a difficult battle against Carliko ahead. Put that out of your mind, we have to focus" Link said. Zelda replied with "Alright" and soon they arrived at the entrance to the Magic Temple.
Meanwhile with the Twili figure in Termina.
The figure from last chapter creeps along a mysterious (to people who haven't played Majora's Mask) pathway. He finds a series of ledges that he knows he must float over, complete with Deku Flowers. He had no idea why Deku Flowers were here, he assumed that it was to allow Deku Scrubs to traverse this area. He didn't need Deku Flowers though, he could float from one ledge to another. And so, he did.
When he arrived at a door, he went through the door and walked through a corridor with a purple floor, and green, purple, yellow and red markings on the lower sections of the walls.
"Where am I? Am I going in the right direction?" he asked himself. And yet he pushed on, his gut telling him that he was going in the right direction. And soon, he arrived in a room with a black, stone-like ground, strange white, black and green marking on the walls, and a generally gloomy atmosphere. In the middle stood a raised platform, with a strange light emanating from an endless black sky.
"Yes, this is where I need to be. That light coming from the endless void of blackness must be coming from somewhere in the Realm of Light. Thanks to my special cloak I can't be affected by the light, along with my own Fused Shadow, means that I'm safe from the lights that's usually very quickly lethal to any Twili. My lady, I'll be with you soon, and us, and your Hyliean friend, can take down the evil that has infested the Twilight Realm" he said as he started floating upwards, heading slowly towards the Realm of Light, a flute in hand, to allow him to play any tunes that maybe required during their journey.
