*With Carliko in the throne room*
Carliko sits at the chair of his throne, in his throne room at the end of the Magic Temple.
"Kransor's about to engage Link and Zelda in combat. His Magical abilities will come in handy against those two, though how he plans to counter Wolf Link, I don't know" he said, smiling nefariously.
*Meanwhile with Midna, Auru and Ilia*
Ilia soon returned and said dispirited "There isn't a single song that I've found that matches the notes you wrote, sorry"
"Bugger" Midna said, unable to hide her disappointment.
"Don't get discouraged Midna, I think you may wind up using this while you're in Termina. Remember, for whatever reason multiple songs work differently between Hyrle and Termina" Auru replied. Midna then asked "So, should I get Link to test some of these songs in the Twilight Realm?"
", and Zelda can report on the results" Ilia replied, to which Midna nodded.
*With Link, Zelda and Kransor*
Kransor immediately teleported behind them. Zelda was struck by his blow, while Link barely blocked it with his shield. Zelda lost 2 hearts, down to eighteen hearts. Kansor attempted a second teleport, but Link was ready, and struck Kransor with an arrow, dealing five hearts of damage, reducing Kransor to twenty-five hearts.
"Good shot Link but watch out. You won't be able to catch me like that again" Kransor said. He then activated a mysterious power, and the strange fog suddenly appeared.
"Zelda", Link called, and Zelda ran over to him. Grabbing her, Link braced for hits. The first hit came from behind, dealing 3 hearts to Link, dropping him to 27 hearts. A second shot was blocked, but a third strike hit again, damaging both Link and Zelda, dealing 4 hearts to Zelda and 2 hearts to Link, dropping Zelda to fourteen hearts and Link to twenty-five hearts.
On the fourth hit, Link saw it coming and shot it back at him with his sword, though Kransor struck it back. Link swung back, and they bounced the attack back and forward seven times each, until Link's strike got it moving fast enough than Kransor was hit again, dealing ten hearts of damage, reducing Kransor to fourteen hearts.
"Not bad. Round two is somewhere else, see you there" Kransor said, before he teleported away, also activating the switch that let a nearby force field deactivate.
"That was tough" Link said as Zelda healed both. Zelda replied with "Now what do we do?" to which Link added "I did see two paths off to the left, we're going to have to take different paths again"
"Alright" Zelda said, and they headed off.
*With Kransor*
Kransor teleported to just in front of the entrance to the secret chamber of the Magical Temple and said "Whoa! I really didn't expect Link to be able to deflect my attack when it was getting that fast"
"Kransor, how the hell did you lose?" Carliko asked through the communicator, to which Kransor replied "I was caught out by Link's senses and skill, OK? That won't happen again", and the communication was then cut.
*With Link and Zelda*
Link decided to head down the diagonal path, while Zelda headed down the straight path. Link quickly encounters another Wallmaster but destroys it quickly.
"I hate those things" Link said as he destroyed the Wallmaster. He then barely avoided a magical arrow from a dispenser, controlled by Carliko.
"This is going to be fun" Link said. He put his shield up and started tanking the arrows. However, he had to move slowly. And each time one of the arrows hit his shield, the magic did a quarter of a heart of damage to Link. Since Twelve arrows hit him before he could leap over it, he lost four hearts, dropping him to twenty-six hearts.
"OK, that's, expected" Link said, sighing as he saw another force field barrier stopping his progression.
Meanwhile, Zelda is heading up her own path towards another force field. She suddenly saw a Wallmaster jump out, and she had to shoot at it, and soon, she destroyed it. She then headed for the next stage, but found a dark fiend waiting for her. Then it teleported behind her. She had to dodge out of the way of it's attacks, and Link, hearing this, raced back, eventually found Zelda and the dark fiend trying to grab her.
"TAKE THIS!" Link said, slashing it. Zelda then stabbed it with her staff, then used a huge energy blast into the dark fiend, destroying it. The invisible switch then appeared, and Zelda activated it.
"I had better get to the other path" Link said. He then ran back, and Zelda noticed that, even though she could see Kransor, she couldn't pass to the part of the temple that he was in.
"Link will have to bring down this force field" Zelda said.
Meanwhile, Link had arrived in a part of the temple, well away from Zelda. However, just as he returned to the trail he had previously run, another Wallmaster leapt at him. He dodged it and destroyed it with just a few sword slashes.
"What the? So, it seems that these creatures regenerate" Link said
*Meanwhile with Carliko*
"I love regenerating creatures if you leave the room that they were in" Carliko said, smiling nefariously.
*Back to Link and Zelda*
As Link arrived in a part of the temple that had previously been blocked by the force field, and, just like Zelda had encountered a dark fiend, Link found himself facing a similar one. He got an idea to try and face it. Turning into Wolf Link, he used his sensory ability to detect where the dark fiend had teleported to, and mauled him, biting and slashing him until it went down, though not without Link taking 5 hearts of damage from being slammed into the ground by an attack, reducing his hearts to twenty-one.
After defeating the dark fiend, just like with Zelda, the previously invisible switch materialises.
"Alright, so now, I can use this to allow Zelda, and potentially both of us, can proceed" Link said. He activated the switch, and both force fields go down, allowing Link and Zelda to reunite. They then find a heart piece in front of Kransor, and they grabbed it, regenerating their hearts, but also giving more to both. Zelda now has twenty-two hearts, while Link has thirty-one hearts.
As Zelda and Link face down Kransor, Kransor said "You won't be able to defeat me so easily this time. I've learned a few things'
"Oh?" Link asked. Kransor replied with "That's right. So, one of the things I will do, is create the fog immediately" and at this, he cast a spell, and the strange clouds appeared, reducing Link's and Zelda's vision significantly.
"Secondly, I'll use this to reduce the damage I take from your attacks by half" Kransor said, and he cast another spell.
"Now then, let's go" Kransor said. He split himself into four, and both Link and Zelda struggled to differentiate between the real one and the three fakes.
"I'll try, this one" Link said, firing a light arrow. But it missed, and the remaining three fired energy shots at them, dealing 3 hearts to both Link and Zelda, reducing Link to twenty-eight hearts, and Zelda to eighteen hearts. Link then got an idea.
"You can fire an attack at one of them, and I'll do my damdest to reflect the blasts at both. That'll guarantee that we hit one of them" Link said. Zelda nodded, and fired an arrow at one of them. To her shock, she hit the real one, dealing 5 hearts of damage to him, reducing him to twenty hearts.
"OW! That was just a lucky shot" Kransor said, to which both Link and Zelda agreed.
Link raced at Kransor, but his sword was caught, and he was thrown at one of the pillars, dealing ten hearts of damage to Link, reducing him to eighteen hearts.
"Ouch, that his surprisingly hard" Link said, rubbing his head. Zelda stood between Kransor and Link, and said "Let's finish this"
"I'll still destroy you both" Kransor said. Carliko then decided to change the arena a bit, and suddenly Zelda and Link had to hold themselves to the pillar. It was also at this point when Kransor revealed that he can float.
"Now what?" Kransor asked, to which Zelda, who had just generated a platform to allow her and Link to stand on, said "I'll still beat you" and she fired more arrows at him, which Link assisted in. But all twenty arrows missed, and they had to move quickly to avoid his attack, where Kransor's fist slammed into the pillar, causing it to crash, though he easily avoided it. Link then struck his arm with a sword slash, dealing four hearts of damage to him, reducing him to sixteen hearts.
"Link. Move" Zelda said, and when Link jumped, Kransor was struck by a powerful light arrow, dealing ten hearts of damage to Kransor, reducing him to six hearts.
"Let's see if you can stop THIS!" Kransor said, and he started sucking the clouds around the area, and Link immediately knew that there was a BIG attack coming.
"Zelda, get us a grounding. If this attack blows us off this platform, we're done for" Link said. Zelda nodded, and they braced, with Link using his shield to brace for the new attack.
"TAKE THIS! DARK CLOUD STORM!" Kransor said, and he fired a huge cloud blast at both, they barely managed to stay on the platform Zelda had created, though they both took only two hearts of damage, reducing both Link and Zelda to fourteen hearts.
"Let's finish this" Zelda said. Link nodded, and he charged at Kransor. Kransor went to strike Link, but Link ducked, avoiding the attack, and Zelda fired a light arrow into him.
"ARGH! NO, HOW DID I LOSE?" Kransor asked, and he was destroyed.
"Whew" Link said as everything returned to normal. Zelda walked up to Link, and said "Now, we have to find the strange room that we found in the other two temples"
"Yep. In fact, here, I think that's it" Link said. He then saw a key that had fallen from Kransor, just before he disappeared.
"Nice, is that the boss key?" Link asked himself. He then picked it up, pocketed it, and headed back to Zelda.
"Are you ready?" Zelda asked, to which Link nodded.
Link and Zelda then enter the secret chamber.
"So, this is another one of those strange chambers that we found in the other two temples" Zelda said. Looking at the language, Link recognised it as Twili language.
"Of course, without Midna we don't know what any of this has said. However, they're not what we're looking for" Link said. Zelda replied "We're looking for the music that will allow me to power up"
"Alright" Link said. Zelda then saw a set of notes, just like in the Poison and Fire temples, and she grabbed her harp, she played each note. The tune played around them, and Zelda felt a major surge of power flow through her. A message in her ear said "You now have the power to properly fight Carliko, along with Link. Good luck", to which Zelda nodded.
"So, did it work?" Link asked, to which Zelda nodded. Link smiled and said "Great, this is exactly what I'd planned. By the way, check this out" and Link pulled a boss key out of his pocket, the one he had taken from Kransor when he was defeated.
"Then let's go" Zelda said, and they departed.
Once they return to the area where they had fought Kransor, they headed past the area where the force field was that had prevented their continuation. Soon, Link and Zelda arrived at the entrance to the boss room.
"Well, here we go. Let's see what trickery Carliko has for us" Link said. He then placed the key into the door, and as the key disintegrated, the door opened, and both Link and Zelda entered.
A/N: So, next chapter will be Link and Zelda VS Carliko, the Demon of Magic. He has proven to be a tricky demon, and next chapter will reveal what he has in store for Link and Zelda.
