As soon as the battle begins, Phantom Zant fires a ball of Chaos Matter into the sky. This ball generates a Chaos Portal, and a hundred Chaos Keese charge out of it. Link, Zelda and Midna all start attacking. However, although all 100 were destroyed, Link, Zelda and Midna still took 5 hearts of damage each, lowering all of them to thirty-two hearts.
"Right. Midna, remember this fight?" Link asked, to which Midna replied "Yes I do. This was back when we were trying to retrieve the Sols from the Twilight Realm. So, what do we do about this fight?"
"Well, we stand back-to-back, 120 degrees apart, and watch Phantom Zant. Once he starts charging another Chaos Matter Ball, whoever's closest to him can attack" Link replied. Zelda and Midna both nodded, and they followed Link's orders. Zant started warping, and all three watched him carefully, powerful attacks at the waiting.
After about a minute, Midna did a fake out. She fired a weak magic bolt at Zant, which he effortlessly dodged, then, just as he generated his Chaos Matter Ball, Link, Zelda and Midna all fired off their strongest attack. Link fired a Bomb Arrow, Zelda fired a Light Arrow and Midna fired a powerful Magic Bolt. When all three hit, just as Zant fired his Chaos Matter Ball, it did a hundred hearts of damage to Phantom Zant, lowering him to three hundred hearts.
"Four hundred hearts, and he almost certainly has more in his full-power state" Link said.
"Huh. It's a good thing this form has 10x the Hit Points it used to have, or it would have gone down in one hit to your combined attack" Phantom Zant replied. Link then looked up and saw seeds fall from the sky.
"Chaos Deku Babas, watch out" Link said. One tried to bite him, but only got a mouthful of his shield. It was then destroyed by one slash from Link's sword. Zelda and Midna had to be a little more careful, although their shields proved effective.
Link meanwhile was chasing Phantom Zant around, but his warping was stifling his efforts to damage him. However, Link's swinging with his sword, as well as effective use of his bow, meant that Phantom Zant didn't have enough time to generate another Chaos Matter Ball.
"Impudent" Zant said. He finally managed to get the Chaos Matter Ball fired but was struck by an overhead slash from Link's sword, dealing twenty-five hearts of damage, reducing Zant to two hundred and seventy-five hearts. Zelda and Midna managed to catch Zant just before he warped, and dealt twenty-five more hearts of damage each, reducing Zant to two hundred and twenty-five hearts.
"So, now what?" Link asked, but they were shocked by Phantom Zant suddenly warping between them, blasting them apart, dealing ten hearts of damage to all three, reducing them to twenty-two hearts. Link managed to do an overhead swing on Zant and followed up with several slashes before Phantom Zant warped, dealing seventy-five hearts of damage to Phantom Zant, reducing him to one-hundred and fifty hearts.
"Two more big hits and he's beaten" Link said, and Zelda replied, "Let's get these two last hits". Once again, Phantom Zant started warping. Once again, he tried to warp between them. This time, however, Link, Zelda and Midna were ready.
"NOW!" Link yelled, and all three of them struck with their melee weapons, and each blow did twenty-five hearts of damage, reducing Phantom Zant to seventy-five hearts. [hantom Zant then fired off one more Chaos Matter Bomb. This time, Link, Zelda and Midna were ready for the Chaos Beasts that appeared, and they destroyed them without taking damage.
"One last shot, let's go" Midna said. And when Phantom Zant attempted to fire off one more Chaos Matter Bomb, Link struck, dealing twenty-five hearts of damage, reducing Phantom Zant to fifty hearts. Zelda and Midna also struck with their attacks and defeated Phantom Zant.
"Impossible. How did you defeat me?" Phantom Zant asked. He then exploded.
"Now what?" Link asked, to which Midna replied "We'll have to head back and see if the path to the Stone Tower Temple is open"
"Right" Link said. The three of them then departed.
"You won" Astron said when they reunited. Midna replied "Yeah, but it was tough. And that was just his phantom. The real Zant is much more powerful"
"Yeah, but when we confront Zant and the Majora's Mask, we'll have the power of the Fierce Deity on our side"
"Yes, we will" Zelda then asked, "How long do we have left?"
"Fifty minutes by the time we get to the temple if we move now" Astron replied. Link then replied "Then let's move" and, after Astron cast a spell to regenerate all of their health, they raced out.
Ten minutes later, they found themselves in the shadow of the Stone Tower Temple.
"Here we go. The Twilight Dial is in there, as is Zant, and the Majora's Mask" Astron said. Link nodded, then asked, "How long do we have to work our way through this?"
"Fifty minutes" Astron replied. The others nodded, and the four of them entered the temple.
When the four of them arrive at the room with the big face that's the entrance to the Stone Tower Temple. Upon arrival, they find someone waiting for them.
"So, how about you four get a slight powerup. Link, Zelda, Midna, you three will have your Hearts increased to 40. As for you, Astron, your Hearts will increase to 25. In addition, Link, you'll obtain Twilight Arrows. Once you hit the Twilight Realm, you'll find the Twilight Sword. As for Zelda and Midna, you two can now warp" the figure said. It then disappeared,
"What was that about?" Astron asked, to which Link replied "Not sure. We'd better get going though"
"So, what are we going to do?" Midna asked, to which Link replied "I see three switches. I reckon Zelda, Midna and Astron, you stand on each of the three switches. I'll go across, then you warp to me, OK?"
"OK" Midna said. Her, Zelda and Astron stepped on the switches, and the pathway formed. Link had to transform into Wolf Link to cross, but once he was across, he turned back to human, and Zelda, Midna and Astron warp to him. The four of them then enter the temple.
When they go through the door, they find themselves in a blue-and-orange floored room. Immediately, they were attacked by Chaos Bats, which were shot down by Link's arrows.
"There's a switch over there Link, get it" Zelda said. Link looked up, saw the eye, and shot it. It turned out to be a switch, and a chest appeared. Link then walked over, and when he opened the chest, he found a Twilight Bow.
"Twilight items? How?" Midna asked, to which Link replied "I don't know, but we had better get going"
The four of them passed into the next room, revealed to be a small corridor. As soon as they did, there was a chaos Staflos that charged at them.
"NO!" Astron said, and he cast a spell to stun the Chaos Stalfos. Midna then struck with her staff and killed the Chaos Stalfos after three hits.
"Alright, it looks like there are several switches that we're going to need to press" Link said. Zelda and Midna nodded, and both Astron and Zelda step on two of the switches.
"Right" Link said. He briefly looked around, then discovered a cracked wall. Grabbing a bomb, he placed it in front of the wall, and when the bomb exploded, the wall disintegrated.
It was revealed that behind the wall, were two more switches. Midna stepped on one, while Link used a box to activate another one. At this, a door was opened, and Link went through it. Then, Midna, Zelda and Astron warped to him once again.
As soon as they arrive in the next room, four Chaos Caterpillars attack, and one hits Link, dealing two hearts of damage, reducing Link to thirty-four hearts. Link quickly destroyed the one that had hit him, while Midna took out a second. However, a third Chaos Caterpillar wrapped some string around Zelda, and channelled Chaos energy to her, dealing 3 hearts of damage before Link could destroy the Chaos Caterpillar, reducing Zelda to thirty-seven hearts.
The last Chaos Caterpillar was destroyed by Astron.
"There's another crack, this time in the floor" Link said. He set another bomb, and when it exploded, another hole was generated. There was also a chest that generated, and when Link opened it, they found a Small Key.
"Where's a locked door?" Link asked. Midna found it and pointed to it.
"Over there" Midna said, and the four of them headed into the next room.
Here, they enter a room which had a large pool in it.
"Looks like I'm going to have to swim through the pool and see where it goes" Astron said. He then cast a spell to allow himself to breathe underwater, just like he used in the Great Bay Temple.
"Good luck" Midna said as Astron dived into the water.
Astron followed the water and found the other side. However, as he ascended, he was attacked by a Chaos Bone Fish, which did seven hearts of damage to Astron, reducing him to eighteen hearts. After destroying it, he pulled himself up onto the platform. He then cast magic bolts to destroy the other enemies that had tried to attack him.
"Now, what is next?" Astron asked. He looked around, and soon, found both a small key and some scuba diving gear for Link. He warps back to Link, Zelda and Midna, then said "Alright Link, put this on. I'll help you get through, and once we're there, Zelda and Midna can warp to us"
"Alright" Link replied. Once he had gotten the scuba gear on, they swam through to the other side. When they pulled themselves onto the platform, Zelda and Midna warped to them.
"Right. Now, here's where we go next" Astron said, pointing to the locked door. He put the key into the lock and opened the door.
Once they go through the door, they find several large stone objects blocking their way.
"Let's move these" Zelda said. Her, Midna and Astron used telekinesis to move the stone objects, and when all of them are moved, a sunbeam is revealed, which also hit a sun sticker, which destroyed a sunblock blocking their way.
Suddenly, several Chaos Clouds attack them, but they're easily defeated. As Link destroys the last one, he finds that his Twilight Arrow is glowing.
"Has my Twilight arrow absorbed some of the light?" Link asked as he saw the glowing Arrow. Nodding, he decided to test it by firing the arrow at the Sun Block, and when the Arrow hit, the Sun Block was destroyed, allowing them access to the next room.
In this room, they find themselves in a room with multiple platforms, but all in lava.
"I'll clawshot over, see what we get on the other side" Link said. He then activated his Clawshot, and fired at the structures on them, pulling him to each platform.
After a few shots, Link got to the other side. Transforming into Wolf Link, he saw a series of symbols. He used his voice in line with those symbols, an anvil dropped from above and hit a switch in the lava near where Link was sitting. This caused the chained door to unchain, allowing Link, Zelda, Midna and Astron to access the next room. When Link gave the all clear, Zelda, Midna and Astron all warped to his location. They then went into the next room.
It is here, that they discover the mini-boss room.
"What is that?" Astron asked, to which Zelda replied "A Chaos-style Iron Knuckle"
"That's not Iron, that's Platinum. It looks like a Chaos Platinum Knuckle (C.P.K.)" Link said and at this, the C.P.K. stood up, and the battle began.
Immediately, the C.P.K. whacked its massive sword into the ground, generating an earthquake that hit Midna for four hearts, reducing her to thirty-six hearts, but nobody else was hit.
"Strike it with Magic Bolts" Midna said. When they did, however, the bolts just bounced off the C.P.K. as it charged at Link. The C.P.K. swung its sword, but Link blocked it. He then stabbed the C.P.K., dealing twenty-five hearts of damage to the C.P.K., reducing it to One-hundred and twenty-five hearts.
"Take, this!" the C.P.K. said, sending Link flying with another sword strike. The C.P.K. fired magic bolts at Link, and it did five hearts of damage to Link, reducing him to thirty-three hearts.
Both Zelda and Midna took the chance to strike C.P.K. with their staffs, dealing thirty heats of damage to C.P.K., reducing it to ninety-five hearts.
The C.P.K. then tried to strike Midna and Zelda, but they were too fast and warped away.
"ROAR!" the C.P.K. roared, and the roar damaged everybody, dealing 4 hearts to Link, Zelda and Midna, reducing them to twenty-nine, thirty-three, and thirty-two hearts respectively. Astron, by contrast, took eight hearts of damage, reducing him to ten hearts.
Knowing that Astron was weak and that one blow would be enough to defeat him, the C.P.K. rounded on Astron. But before he could make more than a couple of steps, Link stabbed him with his sword, dealing twenty-five hearts of damage and reducing C.P.K. to seventy-five hearts, and breaking the last of the armour.
"Now take THIS!" the C.P.K. said, swinging its sword in a boomerang fashion, partially hitting Link and hitting both Zelda and Midna, dealing two hearts to Link, and four hearts to Zelda and Midna, reducing Link to twenty-seven hearts, Zelda to twenty-five hearts and Midna to twenty-four hearts. Astron completely avoided it.
"Midna, Zelda, are you two OK?" Link asked, to which Midna and Zelda both replied "Yes"
"Good" Link replied. Link, Astron, Zelda and Midna all struck with their attacks, dealing forty hearts of damage to the C.P.K., reducing them to thirty-five hearts.
"Take this!" the C.P.K. said, and did another earthquake, though this time, ready, all four of them dodge it. Link then struck with another sword strike, before Zelda, Midna and Astron all hit with Magic Bolts, killing the C.P.K.
"Well done, I'll reveal my knowledge. If you shoot that which releases the twilight into the blood-stained, red emblem outside the temple, it shall rearrange things, in which the Earth is born in the heavens and the moon is born on the Earth" the C.P.K. said just before he died.
"Well then, we'd better get back to the first room" Zelda said. Link, Midna and Astron nodded, and Midna added "Once we flip this place, we'll be able to access the room which has Zant in it, and the Twilight Dial"
"Good idea" Astron said. They then went through the next door, as Astron cast a regeneration spell on all four of them.
When they went through the next door, Link climbed onto the upper platforms and took on a Chaos Charger. Link blocked the charge with his Shield, and he destroyed the Chaos Charger with his sword. Then, the four of them head to the next room.
In the next room, they found themselves face-to-face with a Chaos Eye Monster. Immediately, it attacks, throwing rocks at them. Link blocked them again with his shield, while Zelda used her light arrows to destroy it in a few hits.
"Alright, let's get going" Link said. They continued and soon found themselves in the first room again.
"Alright then. Now we're fully healed, you know what to do Link" Astron said. Link nodded, found the red emblem, then loaded his Twilight Arrow into his Twilight Bow.
