When they enter the boss room, they find a Hulking, Semi-Gaseous monster waiting for them.
"So, this is Charon. The final boss" Midna said. Charon replied "Well, well, well, so the four of you have decided to challenge my power! You won't win, I can tell you that"
"We'll see about that" Link said.
The four of them engaged, and Charon immediately fired off a Chaos Quake. This Quake hit Link and Fierce Deity, but Zelda and Midna avoid it, dealing four hearts of damage to both, reducing Link and Fierce Deity to thirty-six hearts.
Zelda and Midna fired off Magic Bolts, but it did no damage, and they were hit by Charon's Chaos Slash attack, dealing four hearts of damage to both, reducing Zelda and Midna to thirty-six hearts. Link and Fierce Deity swung their swords, and they struck Charon but also did no damage.
"What the?" Link asked, to which Charon replied "My armour is almost impenetrable. Only the strongest attacks will be able to affect me"
"Right" Link said. Midna then leapt back and started to charge up a Twili Apocalypse Beam using both her power and the power of the Fused Shadows. Link and Zelda then started firing arrows at Charon, and although it did not damage, Link did notice that the arrows were
making a funny noise.
"We need something more, and we might be able to damage him with it" Link said. Zelda agreed, and Fierce Deity used the Twili magic he had inherited from the Twili who's body he was occupying to infuse Link's Twilight Arrow. As Charon fired off another Chaos Quake, which all four of them avoided, Link fired his Magic-Infused Twilight Arrow, which did one heart of damage to Charon, reducing him to nine hearts.
"RAH!" Charon yelled, unleashing a Chaos Roar that did two hearts of damage to everybody, reducing them to thirty-four hearts. Midna, in the meantime, had charged up her Twili Apocalypse Blast, which did one heart of damage to Charon, reducing him to eight hearts.
"Take this! Chaos Shockwave!" Charon said, and he unleashed a Shockwave, which everybody except Fierce Deity were hit by, dealing five hearts of damage to Link, Zelda and Midna, reducing them to twenty-nine hearts, but Fierce Deity managed to get close enough to launch a combined Sword Stab and Sword Beam attack on Charon, which inflicted
one heart of damage to Charon, reducing him to seven hearts. As soon as he did, he smacked away Fierce Deity, dealing five hearts of damage to Fierce Deity, reducing him to twenty-nine hearts.
"Now then. Zelda, you're the only one who hasn't launched an ultimate attack" Link said. Zelda nodded, and combined a Light Arrow with Twili Magic, then fired it. This hit, and, having reduced Charon to six hearts, the first phase was over.
"ARGH! OK, you've managed to defeat my first stage. Now then, can you take my second form?" Charon said, and he turned himself into his gaseous form and started flying around the arena to deal damage to Link, Zelda, Midna and Fierce Deity. As he flew around, he took damage, as it was painful to remain in this form. Charon intended to use this form to defeat Link, Zelda, Midna and Fierce Deity, but Link, Zelda, Minda and Fierce Deity moved around quickly, using either warp abilities or Shields to block many of their attacks. And as a result, Link, Zelda, Midna and Fierce Deity took four hits, and a total of sixteen hearts of damage, reducing all of them to thirteen hearts.
"ARGH, NO, I CAN'T HOLD THIS FORM ANYMORE!" Charon said, and he returned to his humanoid form. Also, his armour was damaged. Now the damage inflicted to him was reduced from ninety-five per cent to fifty per cent. However, it had also increased the number of hearts he had to a hundred.
"So, this is it. The last fight" Link said. The four of them used Fairies to restore the number of hearts they have from eleven to thirty-three.
"Now what?" Link asked, to which Charon replied, "Now I kick your asses" and at this, he generated two big swords and two big shields.
"Now he means business" Link said.
The four of them got into position, and they engaged.
It was immediately clear that Charon had jumped in skill and power, as Link, Fierce Deity, Zelda and Midna found themselves completely outmatched. Link and Fierce Deity charged in with their swords and were immediately deflected by Charon's massive swords. Zelda and Midna fire off Magic Bolts at Charon, but he stops it with his shield. Charon then unleashed a Chaos Quake attack, dealing 5 hearts of everyone, reducing them all to twenty-eight hearts.
"What do we do?" Link asked, to which Fierce Deity replied "I have an idea. Zelda, Midna and I will try to distract him, you get behind him and strike him".
"Alright" Link said. Fierce Deity then magic-tipped Link's arrows, and when Zelda, Midna and Fierce Deity start firing off their Magic Bolts and Sword Beams, Link gets in position.
Zelda, Midna and Fierce Deity constantly warp around, striking at him with their attacks. Charon is blocking all of them but find that he has lost track of Link when he is struck by a Magic-tipped Twilight Arrow, dealing fifty hearts of damage to Charon, reducing him to two-hundred and fifty hearts. Charon immediately responds by unleashing a Chaos Roar attack, dealing two hearts of damage to everyone, reducing them to twenty-six hearts.
"It worked" Link said. Fierce Deity, Zelda and Midna warped next to him, then Midna said "Well done"
"I must admit, you caught me out with that one" Charon said, turning around to face the four of them. Charon then smirked, and added "But I can tell you now, I won't let that happen again" and he started spinning around with his swords, forcing Link, Zelda, Midna and Fierce Deity to avoid his attack.
As Charon continued to spin around, Link, Zelda, Midna and Fierce Deity can't launch any attacks. Link then suddenly gets an idea.
"How about I transform into my Wolf form, then use my sensory powers to see if I can stun him so the three of you can damage him" Link whispered to the others, and when they agreed, Link transformed into Wolf Link and discovered that he was low enough to the ground to get in close to Charon, and unleashed his Wolf Sense powers, stunning Charon.
"NOW!" Zelda said, and she unleashes a Light Arrow, Midna unleashed a Magic Bolt and Fierce Deity unleashed a Sword Beam attack. The combined three attacks inflicted fifty hearts of damage to Charon, reducing him to two hundred hearts.
"ARGH! HOW? NOW I'LL DESTROY YOU!"
Charon yelled as his spinning attack was stopped. He then unleashed a Chaos Quake attack, which did five hearts of damage to all, reducing them to twenty-one hearts. The Quake, however, also brought all four of them close together, allowing all of them to combine in a shield to block Charon's Chaos Blast attack.
"Well done, you four continue to surprise me" Charon said. Link replied "Thanks?"
"However, I'll now unleash one of my favourite attacks. Take This!" Charon said, and he turned the area into a concentration of Twilight that nobody except a Twili-based being could survive in. Realising this, Midna yelled "ZELDA!" and she threw her Fused Shadows to
Zelda, then said, "Put it on!" and Zelda obliged, protecting her from Charon's attack. Link transformed into his Wolf form to Protect himself, Midna was shielded by her Twili blood, while Fierce Deity was Protected as the person who was acting as his host was a Twili.
"Right, inventive" Charon said. He then smiled and launched at them. Link, Zelda, Midna and Fierce Deity were forced to scatter, and he charged at them in turn. He swung his fists multiple times at Wolf Link, but Wolf Link used this to get up onto Charon's back and started biting. Wolf Link was quickly thrown off, and thrown into Midna, dealing eight hearts of damage, reducing them to eighteen hearts.
"NOW!" Fierce Deity said, and he started firing off Sword Beams at Charon, which he easily blocked, and quickly went across to smack Fierce Deity away, dealing eight hearts of damage to Fierce Deity, reducing him to eighteen hearts. At that exact moment, Zelda fired her Magic-Tipped Light Arrow, dealing fifty hearts of damage to Charon, reducing him to one-hundred and fifty hearts. Charon slammed his fists into the ground at Zelda, and despite Zelda using her warps, the shockwave attack still hit Zelda, dealing eight hearts of damage to Zelda, reducing her to eighteen hearts.
"Are you two OK?" Zelda asked as she and Fierce Deity warped to Wolf Link and Midna. Pulling themselves up, Midna said "We're OK. We've got him half-way down, even though we're half-way down, so this is going to be close"
"You've managed to get three hits on me. Well done. But I've learned from these mistakes. You won't defeat me" Charon said. He roared, and a hard armour appeared all over him, except, and initially, nobody knew about this, a few tiny holes in his armour near his right
shoulder.
"Quick, restore magic" Fierce Deity said, handing a huge amount of Magic Bottles to everyone, restoring their magic.
"Now then, DIE!" Charon said, and he leapt up and started firing off Chaos Bolts at all of them. They had to scatter, and Midna decided to transform back into her Imp form and ride Wolf Link, while Zelda and Fierce Deity attempted to distract him with Magic Bolts and Sword Beams. These attacks, however, just bounced right off him, not even enough for him to notice that Zelda and Fierce Deity were attacking him. Charon finished up his Chaos Bolt storm attack, which nobody had been hit by, and he attempted to use his fist to unleash a powerful Chaos Fist attack, which was caught by Imp Midna.
"NOW!" Midna said, and Wolf Link jumped in and bit at Charon's arm several times, and although it did no damage, it did wear the armour down a bit.
"Strike there!" Midna said, and both Zelda and Fierce Deity fired off a Light Arrow and Sword Beam, respectively, which, combined, did fifty hearts of damage to Charon, reducing
him to one hundred hearts. However, he then grabbed Wolf Link, and Midna, and,
just before throwing them, cast a spell to briefly stop Zelda and Fierce Deity from warping, then threw Wolf Link and Midna into them, dealing seven hearts of damage to all of them, reducing them all to eleven hearts.
"Well then, now we know, we're going to have to find other areas to attack him through that Armor" Fierce Deity said, to which Zelda replied, "Where is it?"
"Wolf Link could probably sense that" Midna said, looking at Wolf Link, who barked his approval. Zelda and Fierce Deity then started attacking and warping against Charon, while Wolf Link could use his Wolf Sense ability to find weak points in Charon's Armor.
"On his right shoulder, hit there!" Midna called, and both Zelda and Fierce Deity immediately warp behind him, and fired off their attacks, which hit, and did fifty hearts of damage to him,
reducing him to fifty hearts.
"One hit to go" Midna said. Zelda and Fierce Deity nodded, and Charon said "Good luck getting that last hit in. My armour is now immune to Wolf Link's bites, and so, you won't be able to damage me"
Link, Zelda, Midna and Fierce Deity start dodging his attacks, as Charon unleashes another storm of Chaos Bolts at them. It took a few deflections, but, finally, they forced Charon to stop.
"Take this!" Charon said, and he unleashed another Chaos Quake. Once again, they avoided it. He started swinging his Chaos Blades around, but, once again, he found himself unable to hit any of them.
It soon became clear that nobody was going to be able to hit anyone else. Charon wasn't going to hit Link, Zelda, Midna and Fierce Deity, and Link's, Zelda's, Midna's and Fierce Deity's attacks weren't doing any damage to Charon. It was at this point that Zelda got an idea.
"I have one final idea" Zelda said. She then whispered something to Midna, and she agreed.
"Let's go this. Link, Fierce Deity, unleash your full powered attacks at him" Midna said. Wolf Link and Fierce Deity nodded, and they started attacking.
Zelda and Midna started pooling their powers together, combining the power of Twilight with the Power of Light. But Charon had kinda seen this coming and fired off a Chaos Quake attack, which hit Link only, since Zelda, Midna and Fierce Deity avoided it, dealing five hearts of damage to Link, reducing him to six hearts. Then, Charon unleashes a Chaos Bolt attack, which hits everyone but Link, dealing five hearts of damage to them, reducing them to six hearts as well.
"How far have you two charged your attack?" Link asked, to which Zelda replied "Twenty percent"
"Right" Fierce Deity said. He then started combining warping with Sword Beams, while Link kept his Wolf Sense powers on, which forced Charon to concentrate on blocking both and not being stunned by Wolf Link's Wolf Sense.
"You won't win" Charon said, and he unleashed another Chaos Quake attack. This time, however, everybody avoided it. Not only that, but the subsequent Chaos Bolt attack was also avoided by everybody. When Link, Zelda, Midna and Fierce Deity met up again, Zelda said "Fifty per cent charged"
"Great" Link said. Charon roared again, but this time they all protected themselves, but as Zelda and Midna started charging again, Charon fired off a Chaos Bolt, which Zelda and Midna were able to dodge, but Link and Fierce Deity were hit, dealing five hearts of damage to them, reducing them to one heart. Zelda and Midna continued to charge but only got to seventy-five per cent when another Chaos Bolt hit both, dealing five hearts of damage, reducing them to one heart.
"We're almost ready to unleash our ultimate attack" Midna said. Charon fired off another attack, this one a Chaos Bolt, but Fierce Deity was able to deflect the attack with his sword.
"Ready?" Link asked, to which Zelda and Midna both replied "YES! CHAOS APOCALYPSE BEAM!" and a gigantic beam of Light and Twilight energy was shot at Charon, slamming into him, dealing fifty hearts of damage to Charon, finally defeating him.
"You, actually, defeated me. When, I, said, that, you, four, surprise, me, I, had, a, feeling, that, you, might, be, able, to, defeat, me. Congratulations. The team, Work, makes, the dream, work, as they, say" Charon said. Then, he disintegrated. And at that moment, the Castle began to collapse, a door opened, and the Twilight magic that Charon had generated dissipated.
"Let's get going" Zelda said. Link transformed back to his human form, and Midna transformed back to her princess form, and they ran out through the door. They just got out in time, before the Castle collapsed.
"And that is the end of our first ever castle" Midna said, sighing sadly. Link put a hand on his shoulder, and Malcolm, who had been watching from outside, said "You did it! Well done"
"Thanks" Fierce Deity replied. Malcolm then asked, "What now?"
