Welcome to another chapter of TCLS. This is quite a slow story, to be honest. But we're getting to the action/drama slowly, so I hope you'll stick around long enough to see things fall apart and things come together. The storyline is quite incomplete if I'm being honest, but I have an idea for an ending, so I just gotta fill up the middle, ya know? I'm sorry I wasn't able to update last week; I've been busy studying for some tests, and today I just had my math test, which I know I failed. But I felt that I should update TCLS again, since I'm done studying for my test.

Also, I've decided to bring back my "Previously on TCLS.." thing back because the long intervals are probably making it difficult for people to remember what happened in the last chapter. I have updated the other chapters so that they also include the "Previously.." thing, so yeah! Please enjoy Chapter Five of TCLS, and thank you for being patient with me.

That Cliché Love Story

Chapter Five

Previously on That Cliché Love Story:

"What's wrong?" He asked, eyebrows furrowed in confusion and concern, but that merely made Ally's smile grow.

"Did… did you say 'can you text us the deets'?" She snickered, her hand coming up to her mouth as a result of her uncontained laughter. "I can't believe you said 'deets'... Austin Moon said 'deets'!" The last part she said particularly loudly, prompting her boyfriend to let go over her hand to cover her mouth as she continued to yell loudly to the almost empty parking lot that the Austin Moon, the most popular guy in Marino High, playboy extraordinaire, and her boyfriend, said 'deets'.

She was so amused by it that she hadn't even realised she'd been referring to Austin as her boyfriend in her head.

As soon as Austin and Ally arrived at the party, they were handed drinks and were greeted by a bunch of kids from their year, most of whom Ally had never interacted with before. She was more amused than annoyed by this fact, merely because now that she was dating one of the most popular guy's in the school, she was regarded as someone worth talking to now.

What a bunch of kiss-ups, she thought to herself as she raised her cup to her red-stained lips for the fifth time in less than ten minutes, eyes searching for familiar faces among the crowd of people dancing in the makeshift dance floor. By the time that she'd realised that a bunch of girls had pulled her away from Austin to compliment her outfit five minutes ago, she'd lost Austin in the crowd of people in Cassidy's impressively large home.

Although Ally had known Cassidy was well-off, she hadn't realised how much money she'd had. It bugged her that she hadn't taken notice of these sort of things about her friend. Everything looked expensive, from the lush cushions on the velvet sofas that were pushed away to make room for a dance floor, to the DJ booth that sat at the very end of the room. The lights were turned off, allowing the colourful strobe lights and glowing light sticks to act as the only source of illumination in the dark. The silhouette of dancing teenagers was a strange yet familiar view, vaguely reminding her of those teen shows you'd see on TV.

Despite the exciting and loud atmosphere, Ally only hoped Cassidy put all her parents' expensive stuff away, because who knows how many things could've ended up broken by the end of the party.

"Ally!" Somebody squealed near her ear, causing her to choke on the mouthful of alcohol she'd just took. She glanced to her left, expecting to see someone familiar but coming face-to-face with someone she'd never even seen before. Judging from the contoured makeup on the girls' chests and the extremely short skirts, they were probably freshman or sophomores trying hard to fit in with the older crowd.

Ally briefly wondered how they'd gotten here and if their parents knew of their whereabouts, before realising that she'd been staring at them without saying anything.

"Hi," she tried, lowering her cup down. "What's up?"

The taller of the three girls perked up at the question, exchanging glances with her friends before leaning forward to say something over a Rihanna song. "Is Austin Moon here, since you're here too? We were hoping to see him." The redhead giggled in her hand, her friends joining in quietly, while Ally resisted the urge to roll her eyes.

"He is, actually." She told them before raising the cup to her lips for the sixth time that night, "but I lost him in the crowd of people so I'm not sure where he is right now. I'm sure you guys will see him around later, but maybe not."

As soon as they heard her words, they deflated like balloons, their smile dropping and jaw-dropping at the unfortunate news. The redhead perked up again, "will you tell us if you see him?"

Hell no, Ally wanted to snap, because I'm not some type of messenger or dog. But seeing the hopeful eyes looking up at her, Ally reluctantly nodded before spinning around in her silver ankle boots. She zig-zagged past the teenagers kissing in the hallways, diverting her eyes immediately when she saw the hands shoved in girl's skirts and up their dresses, and praying to god that she would find the bloody kitchen before she saw more skin than she had to.

As the sight of the open doorway to the kitchen neared, she hurried before turning left to enter it, her cheek flushing and her eyes wide. How could they do all of that in public? In someone else's house? Weren't they embarrassed? She shook her head, clearing her thoughts as she placed her cup of alcohol down and grabbing a glass to fill it up with tap water. She didn't want to drink any more alcohol if the chances of her doing something like that got higher with more alcohol consumption.

Ally turned with the glass cup filled to the brim with tap water, and barely stopped herself from screaming at the sudden sight of Austin standing in front her. Her back was met with the edge of the counter and the water from her cup spilled onto her sparkly, black crop top. "Austin!" She exclaimed, ignoring the slight pain from her back. "You can't just sneak up on me like that, you dick!" She backhanded his chest, shoving past him to set the glass down the island and peeling the crop top away from her chest.

Austin chuckled from behind her, adding to her irritation. With a glare, Ally pulled herself up on the island, grabbing a bunch of tissues from the box nearby and pat-drying the water from her top.

"I didn't mean to, I swear," he said, but Ally merely shook her head in disbelief. "Did I really scare you?"

"'Scare'? Pfft, don't flatter yourself. I was just surprised."

Austin nodded at her response before picking up Ally's abandoned red cup, sniffing at the content. "Shit, you actually drank this? Aren't you supposed to go home sober or something?" He arched an eyebrow at her and she rolled her eyes at him, clenching the used tissue up into a ball and putting it beside her.

"Why do you think I got myself a cup of water?" She lifted the glass up and took a large gulp of the water, glad to get rid of the bad taste of beer from her mouth. She'd only ever drank alcohol once, and that was in the holidays when her father and her uncle had a barbeque and her uncle persuaded her parents to let her have a sip. She hadn't touched any alcohol since and hadn't planned on it tonight either, but it was extremely tempting while random girls came up to her like they were close friends. "So, where did you go off to after you abandoned me with the wolves?"

The blonde shrugged, stepping closer to her legs and nudging her knees apart to stand between them. "Went to find the boys and see what they were doing." He took a sip out of red solo cup, smacking his lips afterwards and placing it back down next to her. Austin tilted his head up towards hers, pulling her closer as his hands came to rest on her denim-clothed hips.

"Oh?" She asked, trying her hardest not to stutter. The sudden, casual proximity was alarming and sudden, but she didn't hate it. "Did you find them?"

He shook his head, his blonde locks suddenly attracting her attention as his hair became dishevelled. She tentatively raised her hand, watching his face to see if he would move back, but he'd merely gazed at her in silence, no sign of protest on his face. She avoided keeping eye contact with him, instead focusing on running her fingers through his hair and attempting to tidy it back up.

Austin cleared his throat and Ally immediately looked at his face, expecting him to pull away or something. But he merely began talking as he brushed his thumb against the exposed skin between her crop top and her high waisted denim shorts. "How are you enjoying the party so far?"

She snorted at his question, returning back to his hair. "Well, it's been about 15 to 20 minutes now and I've been complimented on my outfit by seven different girls who I've never talked to before so… it could be worse." Ally smiled as she remembered the three freshman girls who had approached her earlier on.

"What's with the smile?"

She glanced down at him, dropping her smile and shaking her head. "Nothing. Don't worry."

Those words prompted him to grab her hand, bringing it back down from his hair as he rubbed his thumb against her knuckles. "Are you sure?" He asked, concern lacing his voice. Ally's eyebrows furrowed in confusion, unsure if he was acting out of genuine concern or if he was immersed in his role as her boyfriend.

"I'm fine," she said, before assuring him once against when he raised an eyebrow at her. "Really, Austin, I'm fine. It's just that some freshman girls were asking about you and stuff, that's all." She shrugged, attempting to look nonchalant about it.

Austin still looked doubtful but didn't say anything else on the matter. Instead, he pulled her hand to his lips and gave her a quick kiss, immediately grabbing the red solo cup afterwards and downing the rest of the alcohol left over.

Ally exhaled in relief quietly, realising that he had just been playing the part of her boyfriend. Austin definitely wouldn't have casually kissed her hand like that, like he'd done it a million times before, unless he was acting. Glad that that was the case, she leaned forward, not noticing the way he tensed up as she closed the space between them to whisper in his ear. "So, what do couples usually do at a party like this?" She glanced over his shoulder at the doorway, remembering the people who were too occupied to care or notice that everyone could see what they were doing. When she pulled back, she arched a curious eyebrow at him, "do they usually make out in public with no shame or care?"

She watched as his cheeks began to pink, probably due to the alcohol he had just consumed, and waited for him to give her a response. If that, making out in public without shame, was what normal couples did, wouldn't she and Austin have to make-out too? To sell the fact that they are a couple?

He cleared his throat, breaking eye contact with her to look at the doorway, obviously recalling what the couples were doing as he walked past them to get to the kitchen. "Yeah, I-I guess.." His voice trailed off as his hands slipped away from her body, grabbing her glass of water and taking a sip from it. She narrowed her eyes at him, finding his stuttering suspicious. Was he nervous? Or just awkward about the question?

"Does that mean we should make out too?" She asked, leaning back on her hands. Austin spluttered in response, pulling the cup away as he struggled to swallow the water. Ally sat up straight, gently reaching over to rub his back. She was unsure if that actually helped in any way, but she couldn't just do nothing after all. Austin coughed into his hands, wiping water away from around his mouth and setting the glass of water down next to her as he tried to catch his breath after his coughing fit. "You okay there?"

"Yeah!" He replied, sounding too cheerful despite the fact that he was still coughing, though the coughs were lighter now. "I'm fine, you just surprised me, that's all."

She couldn't resist the urge to smirk at him, feeling satisfied that she was able to break Austin Moon's cool facade. It was entirely amusing to her that he would get shocked by her straightforwardness, seeing as he was the expert her out of the two of them. Ally had only ever kissed two guys; the first was some kid named Ethan during summer camp when she was 13, and the second was Austin just two days ago. She should've been the one nervous in this situation, but strange enough, she didn't feel that nervous about kissing Austin again.

"So? Should we? To make our relationship seem believable?"

"I think it's already pretty believable, Ally. And there's no one around right now; no one would see it."

"If we do it long enough, I'm sure someone will notice," she replied as she confidently placed her hands on his shoulders, rubbing them across the muscles underneath the cool black leather of his jacket. She perked an eyebrow at him, daring him to give in to the boyfriend act, but he frowned at her in return. "Come on, you were the one who said we needed to be believable. Even if no one sees us, they'll see my lipstick on your lips while both of our hairs are a mess, and they'll know we kissed or did something more than that. Then word will get to Gabrielle, and it'll piss her off even more, and-"

"Okay," he nodded, his hands coming back to rest on her hips as he stepped in closer. "Fine, you've persuaded me, oh mighty one."

Ally beamed down at him, resisting the urge to pump her fist in the air and choosing instead to lean down and connect their lips together. Immediately, she could tell Austin wasn't prepared for her to make the first move because he remained frozen, his hands still on her hips, and his lips not moving against her own. It was only when she leaned forward and slid her fingers through his hair, did he return her kiss.

His lips were gentle against hers, and despite the way he squeezed her hips, he didn't allow himself to go harder. Finally, Ally pulled away, groaning in frustration. "Austin, you can kiss me harder, I'm not fragile." She told him, her eyes taking in the lipstick stain on his lips, looking much neater than she hoped.

Austin stared at her for a while, as if contemplating her words and his next move before shrugging and saying, "I'm just not sure you're ready for it."

She rolled her eyes in return, "oh, please, I-"

This time, Austin made the first move, interrupting her sentence before she could even finish it. (If this was any other situation, Ally probably would have been pissed that a guy, especially Austin of all people, had interrupted her sentence by kissing her as a way to shut her up. But right now? Right then? She felt pleased that he'd done that so calmly and coolly.) Austin pulled her closer by her hips, pressing his lips against her own, so hard that she knew people would be able to tell what they had done afterwards. Her hands instinctively laced themselves around his neck, her fingers lightly tugging at his hair as Austin's lips parted against hers. He coaxed her lips apart with his tongue, and she wasn't even ashamed to admit how loud she moaned as her tongue met his in a fight for dominance.

Obviously, he won, but the groan he let out as she ran her fingers through his hair made her feel like the winner.

Just as Austin's arms wrapped around her lower back, pulling her closer to him as her legs tightened against his hips, a loud cough broke them apart. As quick as lightning, Austin and Ally sprung apart, untangling themselves and searching for the person who interrupted them.

Standing at the doorway to the backyard, the birthday girl stood awkwardly in the kitchen, a sheepish expression on her face as she glanced from Austin to Ally, from Ally to Austin, and back and forth in silence.

Ally resisted the urge to face-palm as reality finally hit her that she had been caught making out with Austin, and not just by anyone; Cassidy! Her friend who planned this party, who invited her, and who she hadn't even bothered to try to find for the half hour that she had been here.

This was definitely the worst present ever.

Oooh... awkward situation, amiright? Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this chapter; it's kind of just a filler chapter and one of my shorter chapters. Chapter Five is just here to serve the purpose of an Auslly make-out session to be honest.

Anyway, let me know what you guys think will happen next chapter now that they've been caught making out by the birthday girl, Cassidy! Also, does anyone else smell a very cliché Truth&Dare scene coming up next chapter? Or is it just me? ;)

Until next time, love from FashionLovah.
