As Iruka left Kakashi's apartment, he let his mind wander.

So Shikamaru as well… I suppose I shouldn't be that surprised… There's just some vibe surrounding the boy. Always has. Actually, I was always surprised the girls didn't squeal over him, guess Sasuke proved to be too much of a distraction to them. Honestly, I'd say Shikamaru is the handsomer of the two…

Asuma… He's never going to just accept this, is he? I'm well aware that I don't even know the guy that well, but… He doesn't seem like the kind of guy who's deal with information like that very well…
And Shikaku… Kakashi's probably right, the guy knows by now. I can't help but feel a little sorry for the kid.

Kid. The chuunin all but scoffed. Kids aren't even supposed to know words like that. Especially not my former students. Just because… I taught him, he used to be so cute back then, they all were!
And now he's… Grown up, I suppose.

He's using words like that, and he has a crush – and what kind of crush! It's a guy, fine, I don't really care about that, but… Asuma's twice his age! Kakashi is too…

Do they even realize what's happening? Can they see it?
Kakashi said Shikamaru and I were in sync, but… Those two… Well, they are both geniuses of course, and they've gone through a lot together these past few days. They probably understand each other better than anyone else could ever manage…

I shouldn't even think about this, of course they're not. I must be wrong.
It's not like I'm an expert on love or anything…

What I need, is a nice cup of tea… and maybe some dango. Yeah, dango sounds really good right now…
