Chapter 13: Tipping Points

Without hesitating, Sheldon contacted Justin Hammer over one of his personal computer screens, and displayed the Shrink Ray to him.

"I'm sorry to bother you, but I just wanted to tell you I finally have it." Sheldon began as he fired up the Shrink Ray before the astonished banker, aiming it one of the Minions and shrinking it down to the size of a sea shell.

"Ahem... well done. That is rather impressive, Sheldon." Hammer spoke up.

"Now the rest of the plan is very simple-" Sheldon explained as he pulled out a business plan graph, turning through the pages to show off his method to madness (so to speak). "First, I fly to the moon, then I shrink the moon. I grab the moon with my rocket's grip..." Sheldon then flipped the page, not noticing a crude crayon scribbling of him sitting on a toilet shown behind him. "...Then I sit on the toil- wait a second, what?" Sheldon remarked as he caught on and heard the giggling of the three girls from outside the door to the room.

"Good one, Sally!" Sweetie Belle laughed, as Sheldon frustratedly stormed towards the girls.

"I thought I told you never to bother me while I'm working!" Sheldon told the three with an angry whisper.

"You did, but I wanted to ask if we could order pizza." Karin asked her adoptive father.

"Pizza? But you just had lunch!" Sheldon groaned.

"Not now, but for dinner," Sally pointed out.

"Dinner? Urgh, whatever... fine, fine. Just wait in the other room until I'm done." Sheldon answered as he shooed them away.

"Wait! Could we get stuffed crust?" Sweetie Belle asked, as the other girls and the two Minions were drooling in hunger for stuffed crust pizza.

"I'll stuff you all in the crust if you keep bothering me!" Sheldon seethed, finally closing the door and resuming the meeting. "Now, where was I?"

"You were sitting on the toilet, Mr. Cooper." Hammer replied, unamused.

"Oh, no no no no... that was just an attempt at humor. Now if I can get back down to business-" Sheldon continued before he noticed the door was cracked open. As soon as his back was turned, the girls then popped up and looked through at the camera.

"Mr. Cooper, are those children with you?" Hammer asked in surprise, as Sheldon tried again to shoo them away, only to get a blast of Freeze Ray right from the neck up.

"As I was saying-!" Sheldon said as he tried to continue the meeting.

"No need; I've seen quite enough."

"B-but my plan..." Sheldon murmured in disappointment.

"And it's a great plan! I love everything about it, but let's face reality; you've been at this for far too long, with so little success. It's best if we put our faith and money into a younger, more worthwhile villain." Hammer told him bluntly. "It's over. Now goodbye, Cooper." And with that, he cut the feed, leaving Sheldon to break the news to his team of Minions.

"Ah, it has come to my attention that the Bank has cut off our funding. So, how will we get to the Moon, you ask? The answer is simple- we won't. We are doomed." Sheldon reluctantly broke the news as the Minions expressed their disappointment alongside the downtrodden Dr. Haymitch. "Now is probably the best time to start looking for other employment options, as-" Sheldon continued until the girls interrupted him. "What is it? I'm in the middle of a pep talk here."

Wordlessly, the girls handed him their piggy bank, hoping it would be enough to try and help him with his money problem. In response, the Minions piped up with a new sense of enthusiasm as they offered more money and whatever else they could find in their lounge space.

"Yes! We won't give up now. We'll use this money, and whatever else we can find! Grab everything and take apart what you will. Who needs the bank?!" Sheldon spoke with a renewed feeling of pride as their plans would not go as undeterred as he previously thought.
