Chapter 17: Villain on a Mission

Frantically, Sheldon stormed on foot to reach Mandark's home, approaching the entrance where Mandark's visage loomed over via computer monitor.

"All right, Mandark. You've got my attention; now promise me the girls are safe!" Sheldon told Mandark.

"Oh, they're fine, for now. First, give me the moon, and then we'll talk business," Mandark instructed.

"Very well," Sheldon responded. "Sheldon Lee Cooper is nothing if not a man of his word." He then pulled the moon out of his pocket and set it inside a deposit tube, where it went over to Mandark.

"Help us!" Sally cried out from her prison alongside her sisters.

"Ah, pipe down, Peanut!" Mandark sardonically remarked to his prisoners, as he turned back towards Sheldon.

"There, I gave you what you wanted. Now let the girls go!" Sheldon demanded, before taking notice of the shifty grin plastered all over Mandark's face.

"You know, I actually plan on holding onto those three for a little while longer," Mandark replied.

"What?!"

"You've gone soft, Sheldon. You're forgetting one of the perks of a villain: being unpredictable!" Mandark laughed.

"Listen to me, punk. When I find you, you'll be in for a world of pain!" Sheldon threatened.

"Oh, I'm shaking in my boots," Mandark remarked sarcastically just as Sheldon punched the camera lens, fracturing it into spider web-like cracks, making him jump in surprise.

"He's gonna kick your butt!" Sweetie Belle assured, met with Mandark's scoffing as a response. Mandark then turned towards his missile launching system, firing nearly everything he had at Sheldon, who, by pure determination and grit dodged them all and then smacked the villain's sewer shark in the nose, causing it to flinch and retreat.

"Holy Toledo, he punched my shark!" Mandark gulped as he felt there was no other choice but to launch his rocket into the sky to evade Sheldon. Sheldon, in his continued state of euphoria, jumped onto the craft and clung on as tight as he could, only to feel his grip loosen as the ship increased its altitude. Eventually, his grip slipped and he was sent falling back down to Earth. Fortunately his aircraft flew in from under him and saved him in the nick of time. Coming back to his senses, Sheldon saw Haymitch piloting the ship and all the Minions cheerfully waving hello to him.

"Hurry, he's getting away!" Sheldon instructed his partner as they accelerated after Mandark. "What happened to this ship anyway, it got big again."

"Not as big as the moon is going to!" Haymitch told Sheldon. "I found the larger a base object is before being hit by the shrink ray, the faster its effects will wear off. I haven't come up with a name for it yet, but I was thinking on the 'Haycoop Principle'." Sheldon's eyes started to widen at the realization that the girls were in danger, and that assumption was slowly proving itself right aboard Mandark's ship as the moon was slowly starting to regrow.

"Hey, four-eyes!" Karin shouted to Mandark in panic, while the other girls yelped in fear as well. "Stop the ride now, or you'll get us all killed!"

"Heheheheh, and why would I do th-" Mandark began to question, when he saw the moon begin to grow and roll around the ship and pin him against the wall. "Ouch," he grunted as the girls broke free from their bonds and approached the exit hatch, seeing Sheldon latch the two ships together with a grappling hook. Sally and Sweetie Belle took this opportunity to ride the rope over to Sheldon's craft as Karin began to hesitate. She was about to climb the rope when it broke free as she reached for it.

"Karin, you have to jump now," Sheldon instructed.

"Are you insane?" Karin asked in exasperation.

"I'm not insane, my mother had me tested. But now's not the time to be hung up on that. I'll catch you, I promise."

"But you gave us back to Diane," she pointed out.

"Yes, I know," Sheldon replied. "And that was the worst mistake I ever made. Now, I willcatch you, and I'll never take you three for granted ever again!" Finding the resolve to jump, Karin began to make the leap only for Mandarin to grab her.

"Not so fast, missy!" Mandarin chortled, before he got hit by the still growing moon rolling around in the ship. She started to fall back to Earth, but she was caught in the nick of time by Sheldon before she got out of reach, with the Minions forming a chain to pull the two back up and into Sheldon's ship. Together, the four of them watched as the moon continued to grow, and propel Mandark with it back into space.

"Well, that's the last we'll be seeing of that loudmouth, I'm certain of that," Sheldon observed.

"He was a jerk and all, but I hope he's okay up there," Sweetie Belle piped up. Speaking of which, on the lunar surface, Mandark got back up on his feet- a convenient air bubble serving as a helmet- and gulped nervously as he realized he was stranded on the moon. And he knew for sure that his father wouldn't be too happy to bail him out if he knew that his son failed in returning the moon to him.

"Oh, poop," he remarked in defeat.

There goes another chapter taken care of. Sorry it's short, but we're getting close to the end now. I hope that if you liked it, you would leave a review to tell me what you think.
