"Wait, so a hybrid is actually real? I thought it was just a myth… years ago someone told me that if a werewolf had gotten bitten by a vampire, then their werewolf abilities fade away and they become a vampire." Clarke said.
Lexa nodded, "Whoever told you that is the biggest idiot on this planet. Do you know what this means now that you're a hybrid?"
" Um… no. Care to inform me?"
Lexa gave Clarke a toothy smile, "I was right all this time! I knew you weren't human; you had a scent of a dog."
"But you said that I didn't have a smell…"
Lexa shrugged her shoulders, "I didn't want to hurt your feeling, sorry. Anyways, a hybrid is extremely rare. A mixture of the blood of a werewolf and a vampire creates a deadly reaction in the bloodstream. I'm highly surprised that you're not dea-"
Clarke cut Lexa off in mid sentence, "So you basically knew that I was a werewolf this entire time and you still turned me into a vampire?"
Lexa knew she dug herself a hole, but she hesitated to answer Clarke's question knowing that it could backfire. She sighed and told Clarke the truth, "Yes… but I had no choi-"
Clarke shook her head and walked passed Lexa, "This is so unbelievable."
Lexa spun around and grabbed Clarke's arm to stop her from walking away. She pleaded, "Clarke, please…"
"Don't touch me!" Clarke's eyes turned black as she tugged her arm free.
"Clarke, I'm sorry!" Lexa's eyes faded into blue.
Clarke stood still, trying to gather herself together. She felt like ripping Lexa in half, she felt like screaming. Clarke began to breathe heavily, she clenched her jaw and spoke through her teeth angrily, "When did you find out I who I was?"
Lexa sighed trying to hold her tears back, "About a year and a half ago… the day you came back to school from the hospital."
Clarke was speechless, "Oh my God… I can't believe you've known all this time. Coming here with you in the first place was a mistake. I can't even look at you… I need some time," She turned around and began walking away.
Lexa began to get worried, "Clarke, time is the last thing we have! It'll be days, maybe less than that, before those Revenants touch our town. We need to stop them before they do. We can't do this without you... I can't do this without you!"
Clarke stopped dead in her tracks and looked over her shoulder, "Right now I'd rather be dead than have to deal with you." She turned her head back and zipped away.
Lexa's knees gave out and she dropped to the floor. With her legs folded beneath her, she began to shed tears of blood. Knowing that she'd messed things up with Clarke and failed the people of town, Lexa didn't know what to do.
…
Octavia flew back and her back slammed against the concrete wall. She spat blood from her mouth and grunted in pain as she landed on the cold floor. The young vampire looked down at her abdomen and saw a gash from her opponent's claws.
"Damn, they're a lot stronger than I thought." She mumbled.
Octavia placed her hand upon the wall and pushed herself to a standing position. She looked at the flesh decaying creature, "Why can't you just die already?"
Octavia huffed, she stuck her chest out and sprinted towards the revenant. Her eyes turned black as her war cry filled her ears like cotton. The young vampire began sprinting toward the revenant. She reached her arms out to grab the creature, but it dissolved and flew through the air like dandelion seeds.
Octavia fell to the floor, she looked around her in confusion, "What the hell just happened? Where'd it go?"
The rotten smell faded away as the scent of roses filled her nose. She because to hear footsteps, but couldn't tell which direction it was coming from. Octavia quickly stood up and closed her eyes, she began to concentrate on the footsteps.
While using her sharp sense of hearing, she located where the footsteps were coming from. Octavia opened her eyes and slowly turned around, a soft light blanketed the person walking towards her. The closer the person got, the better Octavia could tell who it was.
"You've made it, Octavia," the woman said.
Octavia held her breath as her eyes widen, she couldn't believe what she was seeing, "Luna? I-I thought you were dead."
Luna smiled, "My spirit lives on.
Her smile faded away, "You must know something… a few years ago, I had a vision of a revenant standing near my body. Ever since then my main focus was to try to prepare everyone for this day. There's a reason why I used to tell you about this place and it's more than my trust in it, it's about what it can do. My grandmother built this sanctuary with her bare hands, she was a witch. However, my mother didn't want me to have a relationship with my grandmother because she wanted me to live a normal life. Normal wasn't in blood you see, when I was a teenager, I found my grandmother. She brought me here and ever since then it made a big impact on my life. I didn't want to bring you, Lexa, and the others here because I was unsure if you all were maturely ready for it. It was my greatest regret not showing you all the wonders of this place and training you all for something this serious."
Octavia had never seen Luna so disappointed in herself, "Don't say that. You've done everything you could and we're all so grateful for you. If it wasn't for you I'd still be in juvenile detention or even running a crack house by now. You saved me, Luna, you saved us all."
Luna smiled once again and placed her hand upon the side of Octavia's face, "Thank you. I've always admired your optimism. You must understand something..." She removed her hand and continued, "As you have just experienced, your battle with the revenant wasn't real. That's another amazing things this sanctuary can provide, you get to experience realistic simulations."
Octavia was confused, "The how was I wounded if it's a simul-" She looked down at her abdomen and saw not a single mark on her.
Octavia looked back up at Luna, "How's any of this possible? How are you still here even though you're dead?"
"This place is built on magic from the walls to even me. My grandmother taught me some spells, so when the time came I was able to apply a part of myself into this sanctuary. Any time need me just call on me, for now there's no time to waste you need to train. Aim for the heart or head and with that you'll succeed." Luna rested her head on Octavia's, she sighed peacefully.
LA- May we meet again. Remember, Jus Drein Jus Daun. Don't ever forget that, O.
Luna stood up straight and turned around to walk way. The light that haloed around Luna began to fade into the darkness the further she walked away.
Octavia then smelt the presence of a revenant. She turned around and was once again faced with the zombie-like creature. Octavia acted fast on her feet as she wrapped her hands tightly around its head. She felt tried not to let her feelings get the best of her, but she wanted flee in disgust as she felt her fingers sink into its rotten flesh.
Octavia let out a roaring war cry as she pulled the head off completely detaching it from the rest of the body. The body then slumped over and hit the floor motionless. Octavia dropped the head and sighed of relief, "Well, that was gross."
…
The guards had Lincoln and Indra down on their knees with their hands behind this heads. Looking straight ahead they saw a young man walking towards them.
LN- This was a terrible idea.
I- As long as we don't do anything we'll regret, then we'll be fine. Just let me do the talking before you get us killed.
LN- I really hope this works, Indra.
"Well, look who we have here, a couple of bloodsucking cavemen paid us a nice visit," The man said as he stood in front of them.
LN- Who does he think he is calling us bloodsucking cavemen?
I- Don't say a single word, Lincoln.
Indra spoke up, "We come in peace, no harm shall be done to anyone. We need your help."
The man began to laugh, "This must be a joke. After your people slaughtered my people, you have no right asking us for help."
The man looked at his guards, "Take them away. They're using up my precious oxygen."
The guards that stood behind Lincoln and Indra grab their arms and pulled them up on their feet. They tried free themselves, but more guards came to hold them steady.
Lincoln couldn't believe how he was being treated, "You can't do this! We didn't come here for trouble, all we wanted was your help!"
"Cage Daniel Wallace! What's all this shouting and chaos for?" The man stood still and held his breath as he heard his father calling out to him. He gulped then turned around, he smiled innocently, "Father, what a surprised! Nothing is wrong here I'm just enjoying the company of my fellow grounders. They seek our help."
The older man began walking towards his son, he stood in front of him and calmly said, "Do you think I'm stupid? I may old, but I will be damned if you claim me to be stupid. I can see exactly what you're doing. We'll talk more about this in my office."
Cage looked at his father defeatedly, "Yes, father," He walked passed the older man and down the hall silently.
Wallace looked at the guards, "Let them go."
The guards nodded and obeyed their orders. He looked at the grounders, "You want our help. For what exactly?"
Indra held her head high, "There are revenants walking amongst the land. Now they're killing innocent people who are in contact with them. We need your help defeating them all."
"My people and I are safe behind these metal walls. Why would we need help, let alone trust you vampires?"
"Everyone knows you elves are the sneakiest and defiant of them all. Look, we know you have the best technology and materials to make the strongest weapon on the planet. All we need are some weapons and hopefully some of your men to help us fight these revenants off. They will kill every last being on this earth, including you all."
Wallace took a second to think, he wanted to do what was best for his people, "We will provide you with the weapons you need. I will not have my men risk their lives for others when it's their own people they must protect."
Indra was grateful for the small mercies he had provided for them, "Thank you."
Wallace turned around and began walking down the hall, "Follow me," he commanded.
