Chapter 12
Mikado Sekimura's POV
.
Small wisps of chestnut hair blow in the cool mystical breeze. An elated light practically radiates from my exuberant smile while my pixie dusted, fingers squeeze tightly around a tuff of lustrous mane. With my heart coming close to beating out of my chest, I crouch down, preparing myself to take another leap. With unyielding muscles stretching and flexing beneath me, I practically feel unstoppable.
.
An evident upward smile tugs at my lips as I encourage the powerful, yet gorgeous creature to climb even higher, soaring through clouds of shimmering starlets. Gazing upon breathtaking views of brilliant kaleidoscope rainbows, vastly spreading out under galloping black hooves. While I utterly strive to catch up with the ponytailed goddess.
"Mamirin!" I desperately call out. Noticing her twinkling blue eyes teasingly glance over her shoulder, as she giggles. Revealing the sweetest smile, I've ever laid eyes on.
Eagerly lunging forward, beyond the winged unicorn's undulating head, and towards a bit of trailing silk. With a quick gasping moment, I'm confident of my captured prize. So with bated breath relentlessly pressing behind my sealed lips, I abruptly drop my anticipating eyes to my uncurling fingers. However, shattering disappointment consumes my pursuant heart, finding my held out palm desolate and without the ribbon.
Fearing what Mamirin will do next, my depressed eyes, begrudgingly crawl up, noticing her mystical wand, gracefully swishing. "Wait, don't leave!" With a quick, sharp nudge from my heels, I beg the magnificent creature beneath me, to enter a furious pace. Precariously teetering on the very precipice of my faltering balance. Looming over thunderous galloping hooves, I hastily stretch out further. Only to lose the battle, somersaulting off the magical beast. Seeing swirls of pink sparkles as she vanishes into thin air. Leaving only bell-like giggles as a teasing reminder of her brief presence.
Tumbling in a relative state of consciousness and subconscious, I vaguely feel my heavy hand suddenly fall. With the undeniable sinking feeling, my body sharply jerks, attempting to stop my pitch-black descent into nothingness.
Causing my consciousness to crash back into my stark reality, feeling my fogged head nestled against something familiar…something soothing. With a small yawn, I sluggishly lift two fingers to my exhausted eyes, slipping them under my spotless frames. With a frustrated sigh, I begrudgingly acknowledge my obvious failure… to the Moons.
Well, most of them, anyway.
.
Figuring everyone else could catch some desperately needed Z's while I caught up on the anticipated season finale ….since I missed it. On Prior years, I would have alarms redundantly set, for the special night. Scavenging for months ahead of time for the perfect collectibles…Then on that magical night bursting with excitement, I'd plop down, smack dab in front of the large screen. Ignoring the snickers from my misguided bandmates, as I enthusiastically don the ceremoniously swirling, ponytailed wig, complete with pink flashing tiara. With my fingers wrapped tightly, around, the ultra-rare, matching scepter. Literally holding my breath until the anticipated opening credits blasted through the speakers ….
Of course, none of that happened, this time around.
At the time… I silenced the alarms.
Once alone, I soon realized how much I was affected…how I zonked out after, a mere 5 minutes into the long-awaited episode. With everything that happened,
I was foolish to think otherwise.
It's funny how sometimes things can literally turn upside down in the briefest of moments. One minute you're trying to cram as much as you possibly can in a single day. Thankful for the briefest of coffee breaks …and next….Well the next, you can either revisit some long-forgotten site you haven't looked up in ages or stare once more at the hideous floor, spread below your feet…
..Of course, ANYTHING is better than watching a clock.
That doesn't ever seem to budge.
Now with my eyes somewhat adjusted, I ignore my flickering phone screen, with the finale endlessly looping, resting on my burgundy skinnies. With a heavy sigh, my searching green eyes slowly crawl across the same ugly white tiled floor.
One that I've seen far too much, for taste.
Slouched, in a self-induced exile with thin streaks of light escaping from the drawn blinds, illuminating what felt like the cavernous space, between us. His exhausted green eyes narrow towards a script resting against his lengthy legs curled out in front of him. Mussed blond strands sprawled across the arm of the small couch as our crumbling leader attempts to fill the madding void with lines from a script, he's been looking forward to.
.
Only from what myself and the rest of the guys have noticed, he hasn't had much luck, as his anxious emerald eyes only aimlessly stare out at the open pages. Noticing the sun had risen and faded, with our illustrious leader never budging….All the time remaining silent, except for the occasional sound of a turning page, coming from the isolated corner. As we anxiously wait for word,
Or anything for the matter.
.
With an exhausted yawn, Leader begrudgingly lowers the group of pages on his chest. Cautiously scanning the dimly lit room before wedging his long fingers under the blue sling, scratching his stabilized arm. I abruptly turn away, so not to get caught, only to catch Yuta's narrowing eyes. His evident glare towards our troubled leader is fleeting as he drops his searing eyes back to his phone...No doubt to the same old websites, we've all used to pass the time with, since the accident.
Of course, I'm only guessing...
Since NO one is speaking.
.
Flashback...
.
"It's a gas leak, damn it!" Leader screams out.
"Wait, are you serious?!" However no sooner did the words burst from my shocked mouth, then the putrid evidence curls around my nose, making it woefully clear.
"Yeah, now I smell it, too," Momo adds, using his opened shirt to cover his nose. "And it smells like it's coming from behind the door."
"Tsubasa!" Hikaru jumps up on his feet, slamming his fists to the unmoving door.
Nome rubs his tender shoulder, squaring them, ready to take another run. "Get him out of the way!" He throws out an arm, motioning to a panicked Hikaru, rattling the door handle.
"But-"Shocked, I barely motion to my phone, ready to call the ambulance.
"I'll do it." Momo hurries to our green headed bandmate, "Come on Hikaru, Nome doesn't want to flatten you in the process." With his hands on our big-hearted, bandmate's shoulders, Momo firmly guides him from the door.
"But, what about…" Hikaru begins to leave, peering over Momo's shoulder.
I nod my head to my calm ginger friend, with my thumbs ready to dial.
"No, wait! Mika!" Leader throws out an arm, stopping me. "There's a chance you could ignite the gas if you call!"
Unsure of what exactly to do next, my worried eyes bounce from our A&R door's to our leader while sharply motioning to my phone. "Then what should I do!?"
Leader reluctantly orders. "Call from outside!" Before both bandmates burls towards the door.
"Bam!" They both throw their shoulders into the unmovable object.
"Crack." The door begins to splinter.
"I'll get Tsubasa!" Hikaru spins out of Momo's guiding hands.
With determination filled eyes, Nome with a huff begins to back up. "No, Hikaru, it's too dangerous, especially for you! You'll have trouble breathing around the gas! "
"But what about Tsubasa?!" Hikaru sadly points to the door.
"Leader?" Nome purposely turns to our blond bandmate, knowing Hikaru wouldn't dare defy him.
"Damn it, she doesn't have time for this!" Our leader seethes, while backing up, "Fine, Nome's right, Hikaru." Dropping his arms from his shoulder, adamantly pointing down the hallway. "Now, get the hell out of here! Warn Adachi-san and the rest of the tenants! You're their only hope!"
"I am?" Hikaru asks.
"Right." Momo nods while pushing Hikaru down the hall. "Come on…eye candy."
Leader jets out his shoulder, ready for another go. "And make sure he doesn't "accidentally" blow all of us up, in the process!"
"Right! Come on Hikaru, time to be a hero!" With a sigh, Momo tugs on Hikaru's shoulder.
"But..." With worry etched in Hikaru's features
"No buts." Nome stubbornly stands, with his shoulders braced next to our leader.
With determined green eyes never budging from the damn door, Leader quickly waves him away. "We've got this, now go!"
With a sudden infusion of bravery from our blond leader, Hikaru sharply nods. "Your right Momo, we can't let our neighbors down! What kind of idol would I be, if I did that? I'm glad I thought of it! " Hikaru begins to pick up his pace.
"UH yeah, I was thinking the same thing." Momo begins to pick up his pace. "Mika, are you coming?"
Lifting my phone, I begin to follow, "Uh yeah, I'll call the ambulance from there." Except my feet stumble to stop, being instantly drawn in. Mesmerized by our heroic leader readying himself, shoulders taught, gritting his teeth. Filled with determination, although not exactly overflowing with masculine strength, well at least compared to Nome.
"AAAGGHHH!" Screaming through clenched teeth, ramming their shoulders to crash into the weakened door.
"CRACK!" wooden splinters explode around the door. Covering a small awful. "Crunch". The sickening sound that would make anyone's stomach flip, just by hearing it. Alerting everyone around you, something went terribly wrong.
With the door hanging on its broken hinges, unblocking the entryway, a rolling cloud of invisible stench practically bowls us over. I instantly throw out a hand catching the wall, as I suddenly feel lightheaded. However, our courageous leader shakes his fogged head, ignoring his escalating condition. Without another word, he purposely swings his arm around, concealing the lower half of his face, in the crux on his arm. With only piercing blue-green eyes shining over his dark green sleeve he knowingly stumbles past the forced entryway.
"Leader, at least wait, for one of us!" However, it's like he didn't even hear my warning, as I quickly watch his stretched out shadow slowly disappear into the silent apartment.
My wide panicked eyes, flash to Nome, about to yell at him. Only to see the big guy slowly slide down the wall, shaking his head. Abrupt freezing on my lips. Noticing the lavender-haired singer gritting his teeth, his palm gently messaging his tender shoulder.
With my fuzzy head and Nome wincing on the floor, we made up a rather helpless pair. As we couldn't help but stare after our vanishing leader. Anxious minutes strangely lingered with what felt like an eternity. Not knowing what life or death situation would appear. Neither of us could scarcely take a breath.
…Until gasps of desperate coughing echo from the smashed entrance.
Sharp splintered wood crutches under his stumbling feet as he forces another step with his arms full. My heart pounds with elation seeing Polka dotted, PJ pants hanging over our determined leader's strained arms. Suddenly stunned by the sight of his wobbly knees collapsing beneath him, while desperate trails stream down the side of his grimacing face. With my feet cemented to the floor, all I can do is helplessly stand. Starring at waves of golden chestnut, swaying in the morning light, appearing lifeless, draped across his clutching arms.
"Tsubasa!"
End of Flashback.
End of Mikado's POV

.
Kento's POV
Present time.
"Aw, you naughty boy," A long graceful finger teasingly taps the end of my nose. "I'm afraid my boss wouldn't like me doing that. "
Giving a mischievous smile, being sure to lean a little closer, and deliberately slipping my hand pass her shoulder, down the hollow of her back. "Yeah, but who going to tell? Hmmm?" My sky blue eyes begin to smolder towards the ebony beauty. "You could seal my lips, then I wouldn't be able to tell."
She giggles in her hand. "They do look tempting."
"Please love," Using my most sultry voice, my free hand lightly slides under her chin, nudging it closer, "No one will find out, I promise." Although just as I say this, my smile falls just a bit as I suddenly catch sight of some piercing blue, eyes. Some "familiar" disapproving eyes. However, he doesn't say a word, he just lifts his hand, anxiously running it through his platinum hair, pretending not to notice me. While walking with a bunch of business types.
I can't help but chuckle to myself while shaking my head, the big secret of our missing bandmate has been effortless solved. Noticing the secluded idol quickly vanish, as fast as he appeared.
….Of course, I had my own plans.
She seductively runs her hands over her little white dress, regaining my attention. "Well, maybe," With blazing cheeks, she quickly scans over my shoulder, blindly fumbling in the pockets of her powder blue sweater. "But you'll have to be quiet." Giggling once more.
My toned, well-crafted chest, "accidentally" brushes against hers. "I can try." Giving her a knowing wink.
"Well, yes, I guess that's all a girl can really ask for." Almost giddy, she lifts her hand, between our faces jingling, what looks like her car keys, and a couple of key cards. All the while giving a knowing smirk. "I uh, mean a few minutes shouldn't hurt, right?"
"Aw, you're a doll." Letting out a small seductive laugh.
She adjusts her white hat while peeking over my shoulder. "Shhh!" She motions to follow her with a curled finger. While trying her best, but failing profusely at inconspicuously walking down the wide bustling corridor. She just couldn't do it. Her sinful body language unconsciously exudes her expectations as I casually stroll behind her. Quickly stopping at an entrance of a hall, while tugging the back of her short uniform, before swiping a card. Her cautious brown eyes scan the hall, before waving me forward.
.
After anxiously going through a seemingly endless labyrinth of similar looking hallways, we FINALLY arrive at a somewhat isolated area. She giggles while sliding a chart from the door, before nodding her head. The ebony haired nurse cautiously holds up a finger, before beckoning me to follow, in the most teasing way possible. My heart actually starts racing in my chest just from the thought of what comes next. "We only have till the end of my lunch, after that they'll start wondering." She stands in front of the door. "Promise, you won't stay, after that?"
I lift my hand to adjust my bangs, relaying a beaming flirty smile. "Alright doll, I'll try. But I should probably tell you, just the thought of leaving has hit me hard." Nodding my head. I can feel my heart almost pound through my chest, as I agree.
She giggles. "Aww, I'll see what I can do?" The dark haired nurse scans the room once more, as she nervously nibbles on her glossed lip. Her petite back presses against the wooden door as her crimson nails blindly twists the knob.
With my hands dangling to the side, I begin to feel my palms sweat. Noticing her blushing smile as she slowly pushes the door open, backing up into the still room. My lips fall, determined to take full advantage of the expertly obtained situation.
She shuffles her pristine white shoes aside, letting me in before closing the door behind her. "I'll be here when you're ready." Once the door softly closes, the room grows still, with only my footsteps mixing in with a steady beep, echoing in the occupied room.
.
Flashback…
.
With steady even huffs expanding my chest, I glance down at my pristine running shoes. Nimbly dodging small reflexive puddles from yesterday's rain, trying to keep them spotless….Well, attempting anyway. As my horror-filled eyes, take in brown goo, suddenly splatting against the side of my once sparkling sneaker. "Damn it!" I hiss to myself, as I continue down the sidewalk.
Suddenly two hands slap down on my shoulders, as someone uses them to rocket far pass my head. A forced beaming smile shoved in my face. "Aww Ken Ken, it's going to be hard to finish if you don't put that thing away." Dressed in a pair of loose cut off sweats, Yuta jogs backward, holding out his palms. "It's not even raining." He playfully teases.
My sky-blue eyes bounce up to my rather wide, shade umbrella. "Cute, Yuta, your freaking hilarious!"
He clumsily jumps to a stop, taking a quick bow, forcing an upbeat, playful mood. "Thank you, thank you very much…I do try." Shaking my head at his juvenile mask. "Besides Ken Ken, how can you run with that thing, anyway? All it seems to do is slow you down."
"Yuta you should be used to this, by now. Besides, it wasn't my idea to accomplish our cardio like this." I dramatically swing my free arm out, gracefully gesturing to the looming bright orb, beaming overhead. "The treadmill at the gym does far less damage to my illustrious skin." Just as I say that, I suavely lower my mirrored sunglasses to the bridge of my nose. "Although-" I suggestively trail off as I get a closer look at two spandex wearing, sidewalk bunnies. "I will say- the view is quite inspiring, out here." The front of my body naturally gravitates towards them, until I'm playfully jogging backward, playfully wiggling my fingers.
"Hey pervert, eyes front." Our grumpy bandmate catches up, before sharply elbowing me in the ribs.
"Oof!" I lift my hand, rubbing my tender side. "Ow, that's smarts, do you have any idea how easily I bruise? You damn grump!"
The hothead gets up in my face. "No girls. This is 'Thrive' time, so get a move on, you damn pervert!" He continues to jog ahead, while grumbling. "Maybe since the Moons are spending the day, celebrating Hikaru's birthday, with our A&R, we might "actually," get some work done, for once?"
"Uh yeah." With the mere mention of our enchanting A&R, the pinket's forced expression abruptly falls. "So you heard about that?" Hiding his obvious feelings, he drops his eyes to his feet.
"Tsk, of course, he wouldn't shut up about it, during practice…He's just like most of you emotional dolts! It's always the same thing when it comes to HER."
Irritated, I throw my arms up. "Is that why you dragged us out here BEFORE the SUN was even up!"
"Well, if you spent more time hustling those pretty white sneakers of yours, and less time checking out the Chickys," The brunet spins around, sharply motioning over my head ." You wouldn't need that damn thing!" With a sharp nod, the hothead continues down the road. "Cause we would already be done, by now! Now get moving, I have better things to do, then wait for your distracted asses!"
"Damn, who does that guy think he is, anyway? Yes, idols are supposed to be diligent, but were also supposed to be gorgeous, captivating, appearing almost carefree, even." Lifting a hand to my bangs, as I watch my hotheaded bandmate make his way down the sidewalk. "We're only supposed to be toiling away BEHIND the scenes." Shaking my head. "Otherwise, it ruins the carefully crafted illusion…the dream."
The pinket chuckles, "Yeah, Hikaru would call him the deep thinker type."
"More like the grumpy, asshole type." Lifting my hand to my chin "If I just knew more about the guy then, maybe- I could begin to understand…possibly cut him some slack….but-"
"Sorry Ken-ken, I mean, I 'REALLY' wish I could help, especially if it would lead to you two getting along…but you know Goushi, he doesn't open up much, unless it has something to do with our music."
"Yeah, I know, it just makes a guy wonder, that's all." Knowing neither of us had said much of anything about last night, I stopped, next to the pinket. "Relax Yuta, I'm sure she's fine." patting him on the shoulder.
Yuta eyes flash wide over blushing cheeks. "Why would you-?"
Quickly cutting him off. "Yeah, uh about that hothead, he wouldn't know a good time if it strolled up and smacked him over the head with his own guitar."
"Ken-Ken!" The pinket steps away from my comforting hand, shaking a finger. "No matter what heartless, thing Goushi, might grumble, you can't do that! We are ALL members of the SAME group. We all worked too hard to mess that up." Yuta drops his hand, resting them on his hips.
"Yeah, I know," lifting my hand to my blue hair, running my fingers through it. "But that doesn't stop me from thinking it."
"Not the point." His bubble gum colored chest expands, as the pinket tries to catch his breath.
Resting my hands on my hips, mirroring the pinket. "Ok then, shouldn't you take some of your own advice, I mean B-pro, IS considered a single unit, no matter the size. I mean lately, I wasn't going to say anything, but you have to admit you've been rather cold to some of the other members….Like maybe a certain princely platinum? "
Yuta shrugs his shoulders, with his hands on his hips. "Yeah I know, Tomo is usually great, I mean I can always count on him to uh calm things down," rubbing the back of his neck as He forces a chuckle, "Even with you two." The chuckle freezes on his downturned lips. "But, lately-" Shaking his head in frustration before, letting out a heavy sigh, flopping his hand back to his side. -"I don't know, the guy has just been getting on my nerves lately, that's all."
Nodding my head, I cross my arms across my fitted black T. "Yeah, I can definitely see that ... And uh, I'm pretty sure the rest of the guys have noticed too….I uh, do have an idea WHY you're feeling like that." I teasingly wink at the pinket. Also, having to do with a certain brunet?
"Wait, you do… and you're not pissed?"
I just shake my head, while chuckling. "Why would I be?"
"Well, I mean," The pinket awkwardly scratches his face, "Ken- Ken you know you're a major flirt with almost every girl you meet."
"All beautiful jewels in their own rite." A wide smile flutters across my lips.
Yuta awkwardly throws out his hands. "… Yeah, and we know that's how you are ….usually?" The pinket avoids my eyes. "It's just with Tsuba- "
My mood suddenly turns serious, as I sharply motion to my glowing complexion, cutting off my bandmate. "Yuta, do you have any idea what "that" kind of anger, can do to a face?" Throwing my hand out motioning to our bandmate ahead of us. "I mean you'd actually shiver at what that grumbling hothead is going to look like, in the future."
"Wait, are you telling me Goushi has feelings for-"Yuta trails off, throwing his hands out. "Great that's just ANOTHER bandmate to watch out for!"
Realizing the pinket is beginning to freak out I abruptly fling out an arm, resting it on Yuta's tense shoulder. "No no no, relax Yuta, it's nothing like that …well, and I mean maybe-" Deep in thought my hand slips off, lifting it to my chin. "Although" letting an amused chuckle slip out of my radiant smile. "If that was true, he sure has a crazy way of letting a person know."
"What, but you just said-"
"Easy Yuta, I honestly couldn't say how the grump feels." Crossing my hands in front of me.
The pinket avoids my eyes. "So so ...I uh, guess that makes us-"
Adjusting my bangs with a chuckle. "Rivals? …Oh no, not me. Well, I mean not, in the way you're thinking, anyway." My stomach tightened with my words. "Jeeze, who has the time for all that jealousy? This might sound cliché, but I'm more of a lover than a fighter."
"So from what you're saying, you do have-"
"Feelings? Whose to say, really, " Ignoring the sharp pain twisting in my gut while forcing a teasing smile towards my bandmate "The only thing I'm sure of, is while you guys go around wasting time, avoiding that natural attraction, I've made her aware, repeatedly."
"Yeah, but most likely Tsubasa will just miss take it for your constant flirting ."
"If that's all it is …of course, I figure sooner or later the best man will-" Giving my bandmate a playful wink. "Well, you get the idea, no need to shamelessly gloat."
Looking down, my pinket bandmate chews on his lip before his wide innocent eyes cautiously crawl up, looking me in the eye. "Ken-ken do… do you think the rest of the guys…have they um, figured it out?"
"HONK!" A small compact car screeches to halt, the driver flinging out a fist, toward our bandmate.
"Hey, look karma." I point to the car, with an amused chuckle.
"Alright, alright Ken-Ken, let's just go get him before-"
With the side of my lips quirking in a smug smirk, I quickly cut off my pink haired bandmate. "Before he makes an ass of himself, chuckling, "Too late."
He swings a handout, slapping me in the gut. "Aww Ken-ken, let's just go before he-" Yuta trails off, starting to run towards the angry brunet, getting ready to pound his fist in the car's hood. "It's just the right thing for Thrive!" He yells over his shoulder.
With my shade umbrella positioned over my head, I begin to hurry after the pinket. "Yeah, and possibly that unsuspecting driver." Grumbling the unspoken truth to myself.
A little later …
With cautious sky-blue eyes skipping over my shoulder, I continue to begrudgingly move forward, being sure, I wasn't followed. Chest heaving as I sacrifice my beloved fangirls' utter elation, for my lustrous skin. Since that darn tree caught the tip of my umbrella…at least Yuta was able to distract them, with his usual crumbliness. An amusing thought causes me to chuckle to myself. Besides, it may serve as a sort of "distraction" for both parties evolved.
This morning, the pinket tried to hide it …except, well at least for me, it wasn't hard to see that last night, has been bothering him, seeing those two …together. Honestly… it's messed with quite a few heads, today. Letting out a heavy sigh,
…including my own.
The irritating thought causes me to glance up at the unforgiving sun, for a second, before I drop them to my exposed skin. Avoiding the uncomfortable thought, I force myself to think of something else…like worrying about my skin under this blasted orb. Reminding myself even without my umbrella, I'm still under the strongest sunblock's protection, that I could get my hands on…so I should be alright, right?
A lingered exhale mingles with the smooth vocals spilling from my earbuds, as my poor dirty sneakers take even strides, against the pristine pavement. Quickly chuckling to myself as my sky blue eyes dance around something rare, but rather amusing.
Deciding to get a closer look I slow my pace, being sure not to make a sound. Rolling my eyes at the utter audacity of it, as I attempt to sneak behind his back. Trying to get a peek at what actually is more important than, "Thrive Time." Once close enough I covertly drop my curious eyes over his sweaty back. …Although a sudden sharp gasp alerts my grumpy bandmate.
Goushi hurries up and turns around, being sure, the screen of his phone is hidden, against his leg. "Hey, what the hell do you think you're doing?! Sneaking up on a guy, like that!"
"Damn it, looks like SOMEONE should, or at least NEEDS to?!" I roughly snatch up his hand, from his side, sharply gesturing to his phone's screen. "How long has THIS been going on?!"
My hotheaded bandmate jerks his hand away. "It's none, of your concern!" He glances around while making a conscious effort to lower his voice. "WHO, I text and what I do, on my OWN time, isn't ANY business of yours! I don't go snooping around that massive contact list of yours!"
"Maybe you should, it wouldn't hurt you to occasionally have some fun."
"Your point?"
"Fine, part of what you're saying may be true." Scoffing as I poke a finger at his chest. "Except wasn't it you, who said something about "THRIVE time?" Purposely making air quotes, while mockingly smirking.
The brunette rolls his eyes, "Whatever. Mine was unavoidable."
Raising a knowing eyebrow, "So was mine." Crossing my arms.
Irritated, he roughly points at my chest, above my crossed arms. "Please, flirting with two fangirls," He pulls his hand away, motioning to the sidewalk. "During our group's workout, isn't something unavoidable, you damn pervert!"
"Oh nice, so the ASS, making the rules, is willing to bend them, when it suits him!" I hold up my fingers, an inch apart, in front of my quarrelsome bandmate's face. "But only just a bit! Just enough so that he can be free of any judgment! Is that about right?"
"What's your problem, I was only answering a text." Goushi knocks away my hand." It was only for a minute." Grumbling while shoving his hands in his pockets.
Shaking my head, while crossing my arms. "And here, I thought we all agreed to-"
"Hey, guys wait up!" A familiar voice can be heard about a block away.
"Not a word." Goushi hisses, as his crimson eyes cautiously glance down the sidewalk, before looking directly into mine. "He doesn't need to know." Letting out a sigh, "No one does."
"Fine, but we're NOT done here… not by a long shot."
"Yes, we are." Goushi's jaw tenses with frustration. "Kento, this is my business, no one else's."
"We'll see about that." Shaking my head.
Yuta quickly stops in front of us, with his hands resting on his hips. "Oh wow, I really thought you guys would go ahead without me." Throwing out his arm, hitting my stomach. "Ken-ken, what's the deal back there, don't you normally stop? Those were fangirls back there, dude!"
"Well, with my poor umbrella destroyed, I didn't want to risk any kind of exposer."
"But aren't you and Goushi just standing out here?" Yuta's chest heaves, as he rests his hands on his hips. His pink eyes purposely climb over my head, towards my now absent umbrella. "Uh Without it?"
"Technically?" Lifting a hand to my bangs, adjusting them. "But I uh, just got here and well besides, I thought you could use some more practice, dealing with the uh LADIES."
The blushing pinket awkwardly rubs the back of his neck. "Well about that…"
I can't help but chuckle. "Never mind, Yuta, I trust you at least tried."
Goushi doesn't say a word but crosses his arms.
"So Goushi, what was it we were just chatting about, again?" Quirking a teasing eyebrow, over a knowing smirk. "It's become somewhat vague."
"Goushi?" Our pinket bandmate's eyes slide over to the dark-haired singer.
"It's not important, let's just finish this godforsaken run, and get on with our day." Goushi unfurls his arms and begins to run.
"Well, I guess, it can wait." I quickly go after my grumpy bandmate. "At least for a little while longer, right?"
"I told you, not a word," Goushi grumbles but continues to run faster.
"Ah come on guys, since when do you two keep secrets?! Guys? Awe, come on Goushi, Ken-ken, you know a guy can only take so much!" I quickly hear Yuta's pouting voice fade, my attention falling to my smudged runners. With every stride, my mind purposely drifts further and further, concentrating on coming up with some kind of plan in restoring their previous pristine glory.
"What the hell?!" Yuta quickly rips me from my inner planning, realizing he had obviously caught up. Streaks of blue and white fly right past us. My sky blue eyes suddenly widen, noticing a virtual sea of emergency lights, off in the distance. "Uh Yuta," For some reason my hand moves over my tightened chest. "Any other buildings in that direction?"
"No, it's ours." Now, I'm the one left behind, seeing Yuta bolt towards the crowd. "Tsubasa!" He desperately calls out.
"Damn it, he's right!" Before I even know what I'm doing, my feet are sprinting closer to the rotating red and blue lights.
"What?! You're jumping to conclusions, I'm sure she's fine!" I can hear the hothead's voice fall distant, mixing with my own rhythmic tones. Feeling like my strumming heart crawled up my throat and grew about a thousand times larger. "Now, you decide to run?!"
"What the hell is going on?" Hissing to myself, feeling like I'm moving in slow-motion. I begin to impatiently wade through the seemingly unmoving wall of onlookers. With each struggled "pardon me," I uttered, I quickly notice the clothes getting more and more…well, shall we say, scarce? Until I recognize one of the men, I normally pass in the lobby. A rather rotund fella, shivering, with his arms awkwardly over his chest, holding a long metal spatula. With only a bright red, "Kiss me" apron covering his silky heart boxers.
"Tsubasa! I need to get through!" Hearing a frantic Yuta up ahead.
I quickly dodge pass the shivering man, witnessing another man towering over my panicked bandmate. "Do I need to spell it out for you CANDY boy?" His steely eyes purposely drop down as he unfolds his tree trunk like arms. The police officer's sausage like finger adamantly points at the yellow strip of plastic laced in front of him. "Do you see this tape?" Raising a challenging eyebrow over a piercing eye as it slowly crawls over Yuta's entire body. "NO one is getting past me." Resting a freshly gnawed toothpick on his thick protruding lip. "This here building has a gas leak." Throwing his thumb over his back.
"A gas leak?" Goushi spurts out, just as he arrives.
"But our friends! We live here too!" The panicked pinket vigorously waves towards an ambulance parked a little closer to our building, among a slew of emergency vehicles. "Hikaru! Momo! Hey, guys over here! "
The beefy police officer turns his almost nonexistence neck "Where, oh please don't tell me." His shoulders fall with a heavy frustrated sigh.
"Over there, by the ambulance." I quickly add.
"They're our bandmates," Goushi adds.
"Bandmates? It figures it would be HIM." The man grumbles to himself. "Hey, are these guys with you?" Holding his hand to his mouth, he begrudgingly hollers out. Immediately getting an excited wave back from Hikaru. "Yup, it's their friend, alright. Damn it."
"See, now please, will you let us through?" Yuta holds his hands together, practically begging the man in uniform.
"Great another one …although-"He trails off, eyeing both Goushi and myself. "Maybe they can help control him?" Letting out a sigh, he closes his eyes and lifts the yellow tape. "Fine, go ahead." Before we're even on the other side, he quickly adds. "But no closer ...by the way the radio just alerted me, that the rest of your friends are being escorted outside, by emergency staff….since they refused to leave the gurney."
"Gurney!" All three of us whip our heads back.
"Wait, but you said it was a gas leak!" Our dark-haired bandmate questions.
A chill crawls up my back as I watch the man, awkwardly rubbing the back of his head, avoiding our eyes. "Yeah, uh better let your friends explain … just make sure you tell your green haired buddy…He needs to leave the rest to the professionals. I mean, even though he and his red-haired friend were a lot of help, in alerting the other tenants. The fire marshal did say, I'm obligated to throw the cuffs on him, if he tries to enter that building again, without it being cleared …hero or no hero, tell him I have no choice."
"I'll let him know…and uh thanks." I hastily nob my head, trying to catch up with my pinket bandmate.
"Yeah, Thanks ...will uh give you some tickets to our next show," Goushi grumbles.
"I don't understand Ken-ken, Tsubasa should be with them … I mean they had plans for Hikaru's birthday didn't they?" With his pink eyes glued to the oncoming ambulance, Yuta anxiously asks while sprinting.
"Uh yeah." With my worried bandmate's question, that eyrie chill I was feeling before, comes back.
"Then where is she, Ken Ken!?"
"You need to calm down, I'm, –I'm sure everything is uh fine, at least that's what will find out." Picking up my pace, my feet begin to blur "I mean, once we reach the rest of the guys."
"But the Gurney, Ken –ken?" Yuta shouts out.
"Gurney, wait a minute, do you know something?" Hikaru's anxious eyes suddenly appear in front of me, as we hadn't realized we made it to the back of the ambulance.
"Oh, hey guys." Momotaro leaps off the ambulance's open back.
"Know what, we just got here." A panicked Yuta grabs Hikaru by his arms.
"Yuta, not so rough!" Hikaru tries to pull away.
Impatient for answers, I quickly step closer to my green haired bandmate. "Hey, the officer just told us, the rest of our friends were coming out, with a GURNEY. What's that all about?"
My words instantly stop Hikaru's hands, before awkwardly rubbing the back of his neck, and avoiding our eyes, letting out an almost woeful sigh.
"HE said something about refusing to leave." Seeing Hikaru's worried face I quickly add to Yuta's panicked words, being a tad anxious myself.
"Oh, thank goodness…that's really good news." The calm ginger's shoulders visibly fall.
"That sounds like Leader, I knew he wouldn't leave her behind," Hikaru adds
"Wait, Kazu?" Knowing the Moons, I can't help but question.
"So Kitakore is with them?" Goushi grumbles.
"No, we thought they already made it outside, but no one has seen them," Hikaru answers why he wiggles his way from the suddenly drained pinket.
"I uh, called, Reji, and apparently their safe….but he didn't say where they were." The ginger adds.
"Wait for her?! Guys where's Tsubasa?!" A sharp sick feeling ran through my stomach. "Hikaru, why isn't she with you, for your freaking birthday!?" Yuta adamantly points to our green haired bandmate.
"Yeah, she uh coming." The ginger avoided our eyes, reaching out a hand, pulling on the back of Hikaru's shirt.
"What is it you're not telling us?!" Seeing the ginger's protective nature, Yuta sharply questions.
A dark-haired man wearing a stethoscope peeks out from behind the ambulance. "Hey guys, just a heads up, we're getting ready to leave, once the patient arrives…ONE of you can come with, the rest can follow." The man's chestnut eyes flit from one bandmate to the next. "So who's it going to be?"
"I'm coming!" A little surprised to hear my voice suddenly shouting out with the other two.
"No, he's not, I am!" All three of us point to our chest.
"Uh oh." The ginger shakes his head.
"Ken- ken? What happened to what you just said, back there? " Yuta throws out an arm where we just came from.
"I should be considered, like everyone else." Unable to reason why I just shrug.
"Really pervert, you should be the last person left alone with her" Goushi hisses.
"Why are you even involving yourself, you big grump." Crossing my arms over my chest.
"Damn it! I knew this would happen." He grumbles to himself.
"Wait wait, I'm the hero!" Hikaru jerks away from the ginger's hold, swinging a proud thumb to his chest. "I should go! After all, it's my birthday!"
"True, but she's been spending way more time with Thrive, so let her go with us!" Yuta squares his shoulders leaning in closer, throwing a sharp thumb towards his pink t.
Standing between the two, adamantly toe to toe. "Hey guys, we should probably -" Feeling the tension radiate from the two of them I try and work my charming magic.
"That's not true, she was supposed to be with me all day!" Hikaru blurts out.
"Well, I'm not moving!" Yuta stubbornly crosses his arms.
"Neither am I." Hikaru shadows the picket's behavior.
Of course, it blows up in my face, as my charms are only suited for the ladies.
"Hey, if anybody cares, here they come." Goushi points toward the front of the building, noticing a group of people huddled around a pristine gurney.
"Tsubasa!" Yuta takes off.
"Will let her decide." Hikaru runs after Yuta.
Suddenly it hit me, I wasn't actually seeing our brunette A&R, which meant…. I feel my stomach drop. I mean I know the moons had said something about it, but it just didn't click, until now. "Tsubasa!" Running towards …her.
Except before I get there, I practically run smack dad into a held out hand. "Stop."
"Nome, step aside, we want to ask Tsubasa, which one gets to go with her.' A desperate Hikaru whines towards his friend.
"Tsubasa!" Unable to get pass our lavender haired bandmate, a panicked Yuta shout out.
"No. It's already been decided." Nome shakes his head, with his hand still held out. Letting the gurney roll right past us. . "Leader is going."
"Kazue, really!? I can be just as much of help as he is." Yuta becomes desperate, as he watches Kazu walk towards the back of the ambulance.
"You can't decide for everyone," I add.
"But-"Hikaru glances over to his leader, before begrudgingly nodding his head. "Fine. I uh guess I mean I can sort of see why."
"Really? You're ok, with that?" Nome couldn't help but ask.
With his arms at his side, Hikaru waves a hand towards Kazu. "Yeah, I mean after what Leader has done, it wouldn't be a very hero like, if I didn't." He begrudgingly nods his head, while scribbling on the ground with his shoe.
"Wow, Hikaru that's uh-" Almost completely stunned by his friend, Nome trails off, rubbing the back of his neck. "That's uh…well then it's been decided." He soon recovers quickly, nodding his head as well.
"What? But –but, it's not HIS to make!" Feeling like he was losing the battle Yuta desperately throws out an arm, then motions to himself. "I... I, mean, I'm the one in love with her! It should be me!"
"What!"Everyone looked stunned…well, except for the members of Thrive.
In a panic, Yuta realizes what he just blurted out. "Wait, I haven't confessed to Tsubasa yet! I mean I've kissed her, yeah sure -" The blushing pinket immediately throws a hand over his lips.
"What!?" This time everyone is surprised, including me.
"Damn it. I shouldn't have said that!" He waves his arm in front of him. "Bu-but, but I haven't said as much! Please, guys, don't say anything!" After hearing Yuta outburst I couldn't help but flash my curious eyes to a certain blonde, noticing Kazu's hand tighten, as he walks along with the gurney.
Ignoring my stomach, I force a chuckle, patting Yuta on his back. "Wow man, way to drop a bomb."
Goushi shoves his hands in his pockets. "Damn it, I knew it! First last night and now lover boy! This is how it all starts! Some of the best bands have fallen to this nonsense. I tried to warn everyone, but nooo0. It's our A&R this, and Tsubasa that! "
I quickly give Goushi a knowing look, which causes his lips to begrudgingly clamp shut.
From behind Nome's held out a hand, Mika's concerned eyes discreetly slide over to their leader, who didn't once look up. Kazu only giving his head a slight, almost unnoticeable shake. "Yeah, well Leader ...is the one that saved her." Mika adjusts his glasses, standing on the side of the Moons while defending the silent blonde.
It appeared that the Moons had chosen their champion.
Whereas Thrive …well nothing is ever that easy for us.
"He what!" Yuta ramps up, standing next to myself and grump. "What the hell happened!?
Watching most of the Moons stubbornly stand between us and the silent blonde. As the gurney is being expertly maneuvered to fit in the back of the ambulance. "Yeah, I think mystery time is over, it's time to clue the rest of us in." Sounding like a cheesy line in one in our newest movie.
"The gas leak came from her apartment! Ok?" Mika snaps back.
"They had to break down her door, to get her out." The ginger backs up his friend.
"Yep, that's right." Hikaru sharply nods. "Our heroic leader saved Tsubasa!"
The blue blinding light starts to rotate. "Come on! Let's go! Let's go!" As if ending the escalating argument, a dark-haired man swings the door shut, sealing the blond inside, with the brunet. "See you guys at the hospital!" He abruptly smacks the back, before jumping in on the passenger side.
Yuta can only watch. "But, that should be-"
"Yeah, we'll be there." Mika nods.
"Sorry Pal, we'll catch up with them." Seeing the pinket utterly lost, staring after the now, shrinking ambulance, I quickly throw my hand around my friend's shoulders.
All we could do was stand there and watch, feeling an icy breeze blow through our hair. It honestly felt like she was speeding away from us, in more ways than just the obvious. With the thought a sharp irreparable pain, strikes hard, almost bringing me to my knees. "If it's any consolation, he uh actually 'needed" to go." Nome awkwardly pats Yuta's empty shoulder.
"Nome, what are you saying?"
Mika's eyes met with each of the moons, before speaking. "Leader, he uh really messed up his arm."
"What!? But he was fine when we left!" Hikaru's eyes blink towards his friend.
"I uh, shouldn't have let him continue, I heard that sound coming from his arm… I just needed a minute but he wouldn't wait."
"Stop Nome, you did what you could." Mika pats his friend on the back.
"It's like nothing happened, he forced himself …I knew I wouldn't be able to stop him." His hand slides off. "And now…" Nome lets out a heavy sigh.
Mika forces his shoulders back, "And now, because of it, the Moons-"
Hikaru questions. "What about us?!"
Momotaro adds, "It doesn't look good."
End of flashback
.
Back to the current time.
"Beep."
"Beep."
With all my perceptive walls dropped, I plop down in a seat as my fingers nervously twist along the side of a pristine blanket. "You know there are less extreme ways to be lone with me." I anxiously chuckle, lacing my fingers with another. "Of course, this isn't the first time someone has gained my attention via a hospital bed." My eyes quietly take in her beautiful chestnut strands sprawled out against a stark white pillow. "I uh, must admit, they uh don't hold a candle to you, even like this." I awkwardly stumble my words into silence, as I hope for some kind of reply.
..That doesn't come.
"This is when you blush while avoiding the topic." I let out a small teasing chuckle. "You know my dear, you need to remember your part…I mean how else will you become a fabulous actress, leading me down the red carpet, if you can't remember your lines?" Except for the moment, I said my rather amusing words… they practically withered and died on my awkward lips." No. that's not right, I know that….and in a way I'm glad…I have no doubt you would awaken the entire world with your timeless beauty and charms.
…Spreading like a contagion."
Seeing the motionless brunette causes a sharp pain to jab directly into my beating chest. "You know it would be nice if you'd wake up for me ….then maybe we could be serious for once." Unable to hold it in, a small sniffle twists around rhythmic beeping, of the various monitors. "You know, like that day on the hill."
"Psst Kento, you need to make it quick." The nurse peeks her head in.
I quickly throw my flirty "handsome" mask on.
….concealing my true feeling.
"Ok doll, just a few more minutes?" Letting go of Tsubasa's hand, while forcing a playful wink, towards the cracked open door. "Then I promise, you'll have me all to yourself. My sky blue eyes twinkle towards the eager nurse.
"Alright." She giggles. "I'll be waiting." Shutting the door.
With the door shut, I mentally let down my walls, with a sigh. "You know at first, I had absolutely no idea why I said all that stuff…there's uh, just something-." I feel my heart tug as I scoop up her hand, with my trembling fingers. "Yeah ….well, for a long time now, I uh, kept people at arm's length….only allowing the dazzling surface to show ...Even with my fellow Thrive members."
.
"But for some reason, you're different. You know my chest actually twinges ...and I have no idea why it does it, only around you." Unable to stand it any longer, my head falls. "You have to wake up soon, Tsubasa…otherwise, I'll never know why." All of my walls become absolute rubble with my forehead crashing against her limp hand. Noticing for the first time, lingering trails, down the sides of my face. "I'm just beginning to trust…someone other them myself.
And it's all because of you.
End of Kento's POV

Ryūji's POV
A few hours later.
.
The almost maddening sound of an unyielding pendulum ticking away. It's imaginary amplified sound, relentlessly hammering away at my consciousness. Causing my eyes to impatiently slide to the seat next to me.
Then, at that face….that damn expressionless face.
Realizing nothing has changed since the countless other times my eyes found themselves facing it. They anxiously drop down to an unwrapped sweet. Awkwardly twisting in my loosely held fingers, since there's virtually nothing else to do, but wait.
"Well, you started it, so wwwhy- not!" Hikaru pouts.
"Aww be reasonable, Hikaru?" My pink-haired friend holds up two hands. "As I've already said, a bazillion times already, I haven't said anything to her, so can you please just drop it? " Yuta crosses his arms at his chest, shaking his head.
"Yeah, but you have to admit it's a valid question …since we are ALL involved." Mika the sometimes, Mayhem reaper adjusts his glasses, while standing next to his Moon's bandmates.
Yes, nothing to do ….
Except maybe, watch the "dogs" growl at each other.
Normally, I wouldn't mind a little disruption…an uh, little distraction, I mean. My impatient eyes drop down to the multitude of spent paper stems, as yet, another lollipop thoughtlessly slides in my straighten lips… of course, the sweet taste swirling around my multicolored tongue does nothing to distract my eyes from that damn clock. That jeering inflexible clock, that's been taunting me ever since I stepped foot in this damn room. Just endlessly ticking. Giving me plenty of time to think.
About that night. About Tsubasa ….and about my friend.
"I don't think so, not in the slightest. After all, these are HIS feelings." Kento rolls his eyes, before dropping them from adjusting his bangs. "It's personal, we shouldn't be privy to ANY of this…even if he managed to inadvertently blab it to the rest of world." I couldn't help but notice a glimmer of real pain in those usual, flirtatious sky-blues, as they pause in front of the pinket.
"Ken- ken!"
"Well, how would you describe it?" My blue-haired bandmate, just kind of coolly shrugs his shoulders at a cocky smile still painted on his lips.
However, in the middle of this, Mika's worried eyes slide over to the Moons' leader, silently curled up on the couch, across the waiting room.
"Yeah, I get it." Yuta's shakes his head.
"It's just like you guys, you're ALWAYS starting something." Mikado sneers while uncrossing his arms, slightly adjusting his glasses.
"Hey, what do you mean about "you guys?" Are you saying something about Thrive?" Goushi snaps back, with his fists shaking at his sides while standing next to the pinket.
It seemed every passing hour, we've been …uh sitting …waiting...this damn room caused each singer to align with what's most familiar, even if they had trouble getting along, themselves. As raw nerves started to become stretched to ultra-sensitive threads.
It's like the island never happened.
No, worse, since the Sky, it's like everyone has now woken up, with impassable lines starting to be drawn around our naive A&R. However, I'm not so naïve, I knew sooner later, all my bandmates' escalating emotions would come crashing down. Like some kind of tidal wave ….of course like most sneaker waves, I didn't expect it THAT night!
I just wanted to steer my partner in the running or at least pull his damn anchor out of the water. …but now it seems the groups have taken shelter on their own separate islands.
…with myself weathering the storm on my own floating mound of sand.
With the thought, my anxious eyes drop down to the empty chair, next to me and for the first time in our musical adventures, I regretted being part of a two-man team.
There was no one left to sit with on Kitakore's island.
Before the sun even came up, we executed our act flawlessly, like a single unit. He left, and well, I gave our excuses. Pretending to prepare for a last minute booking… on our day off. Knowing the last things I've heard from my best friend, were his bedroom door closing, and his repeated voicemails…The only way I was able to pass along the news about the accident.
"Oh please everyone tiptoes around the subject, you guys don't follow any kind of a leader." Hikaru steps away from his lavender friend.
"We don't need one. Besides, haven't you noticed, you guys are forcing yours?" Kento backs up his bandmate. As the tense ignitable air around the two groups sparks, in the private, waiting room.
"What do you mean?" Hikaru's oblivious eyes bounce from the blonde to the ginger, "Momotaro what is he saying ?"
The ginger awkwardly scratches his head. "Well, uh, Hikaru, what he's trying to uh say-?"
"Just think about what the blonde is ALWAYS trying to say." Goushi snaps, "Face it, you don't really have one…well, a willing one, anyway."
"Hey guys, I think everything getting a little out of hand. Maybe we should grab some space. I mean, we're all on edge, with the whole situation."
Nome's eyes cautiously slide to each fuming member, on either side of him. "Yeah, he's right."
"Nome, how can you say that?" Hikaru sharply points a finger ahead of him. "Yuta's the one keeping secrets from the rest of us."
The dark-haired Thrive singer just shakes his head in disbelief. "You have no freaking idea about some of your own members, now do you ?"
"Tsk, please you should consider your own dysfunctional, trouble making group, before taking examples from other groups. You three can barely ride in the same elevator, let alone the same car." Mika lifts a hand before adjusting his glasses. "I mean, forget about meshing with the rest of us, you guys can't get along with each other, let alone anyone else. " The irritated brunette steps ahead of Hikaru, and Momotaro.
Kento teasingly snaps his fingers as the two groups shadow something from there latest movies, only this wasn't a movie. We're a damn boy band, not a street gang. "Really Mika, isn't that your job? You're just like a SMALL flickering match, ready to throw yourself on the closest puddle of gasoline!"
"Enough!" With his head pointed down, and his arms spread out, touching either side of the doorway, my bandmate finally makes an appearance. "We need to come together, in times like this, not be at each other's throats."
"Tomo." His name thoughtless falls from my lips.
I don't know who, but several scoffs could be heard right after Tomo's words. And for once, it wasn't from the dark-haired, Thrive, singer, who somehow always manages to be in a particular mood. "It's about damn time, maybe now we can get some work done?"
However, Kento gives him a knowing look, which quickly shuts him up.
"Maybe it's easier that way, giving them something else to do, rather then -?"Tomo lifts a hand to rub his chin while mumbling to himself.
Kento whips his head around, like some kind of stunning TV spoken, for some cheesy shampoo promo. "Tomo, What the hell are you saying?"
It didn't matter what was said, or how someone felt before his arrival, all eyes now anxiously sought the occupied doorway.
"Hey Toma, any word?" Hikaru practically jumps in front of the platinum.
"Yeah, you could say that." My friend uncharacteristically angles his head, so that his platinum hair obscures his eyes, worry evident in his tense body language.
"How is she?" A considerable toll now laid heavily on the solemn pinket. No longer freshly baby faced a beam of sunshine. Faint half circles were practically etched under his eyes. Riddled with relentless worry, Yuta stumbles ahead of everyone else. "When can I uh, see her?"
"Yeah man, when can we go see her?" Kento follows his bandmate.
"Yeah about that… you see the uh hospital has strict rules on who can and can't enter a patient's room," He avoids showing his beautiful blues to anyone in the room while rubbing the back of his neck. "I'm uh afraid we're not going to be permitted," Clearing his throat, "for the time being."
"What?!" a shocked chorus of echoes sails through the room.
An anxious voice speaks out from behind the rest of us. "Wait a minute, how can that be? What about …the uh, boat? I mean we were allowed, then? Why the hell, not now?" A shaken blonde, with his arm in a sling, walks right past me, and between the rest of our bandmates.
My flat mate's breath abruptly catches, when the injured singer walks up to him. "Kazu." Slightly nodding his head, politely acknowledging his arrival. But his eyes remained hidden.
Kazu silently stood there, not only racked with unmitigated worry but utter disdain as well. No longer carefully concealing his feelings.
The entire room could feel the tension radiating from the Moon's leader. "The difference is, last time she was um briefly… awake ...and lucid enough to give consent, so we could see her ." Tomo voice cracks. "However this time–"
"She hasn't." Kento quickly cuts him off.
Tomo sadly nods his head. "Hospital policy is quite clear in the matter …I'm afraid for now, we should just head home … It's family only. Until a relative shows up and signs the consent form."
Yuta's face turns white, as he, quickly rushes between the two fuming singers, causing the already tense room to further escalate. "Wait, but Tsubasa-chan doesn't have any family, I mean that's what her doctor said. Tomo, I told you this already!"
A speechless Kazu looks surprised towards Yuta, causing the Thrive singer to silently apologize to the blonde, for letting out their discovered secret, to the rest to the group. However, Kazu remains focused, crossing his arm and shaking his head.
Tomo never looks up. "Yes, and now, you see our predicament. We're not even supposed to be briefed on her condition. But now since-" He trails off, before finishing his thought.
"And with all the groups she supports, it's not like she has a lot of time to make any new friends either." Mika sadly adds, cutting off the platinum.
Momo lets out a sigh. "I haven't seen anyone else visit, either."
"Wait, so she's alone? She has no one?" A practically panicked Hikaru whips his head around the room.
Nome places a comforting hand on his distraught friend's shoulder. "Looks that way."
Hikaru sadly questions his friend, over his shoulders "I don't understand, how someone, so kind, and beautiful can?" Almost overcome he trails off, turning in to his friend's chest.
Mika's finger slips under his glasses, rubbing his eye. "When Tsubasa saw I was upset, she encouraged me to blather on about myself, even when SHE was the one in the hospital." The singer slowly walks over, taking his hand out of his burgundy skinny jeans, awkwardly resting a hand on Hikaru's trembling back. "Selfless."
Momo steps closer to his glasses-wearing friend. "She has no one."
Kazu's eyes slide over towards the pinket, seeking approval. "Well, she doesn't have, no one, she has me...I mean us." Swinging his free thumb to his chest. "We've already decided, haven't we Yuta?"
"Yuta slaps his head. "That's right…we're going to be Tsubasa's family, now, so she not alone."
"Hey!"
The pinket throws out his hands towards his blue-haired bandmate. "And I'm sure we can squeeze Ken-ken in to," Then, as if to keep things fair, he turns, scratching his head." And maybe- even-?" Asking in a hopeful tone.
"Leave me out of this, I wouldn't be here at all if everybody else wasn't already." With his arms stubbornly folded, Goushi blindly plops down in the chair, behind him. "Once again, you left a guy with no choice." The dark-haired Thrive singer grumbles.
"Fine, it's decided. This is what Leader wants, and I agree. We'll hang out here until Sleeping Beauty wakes up. Like a real family." Mika sharply nods his head. Then maybe will get this whole "prince" thing sorted out."
"Mika!" All but two of the Moons, verbally warn their bandmate.
Hikaru pulls his head away, wiping his face, a determined searing look sparked in his eyes. "It can't be too much longer. Then the hospital will have to let us in!"
"Guys?" With his head pointed to the floor, Tomo sadly shakes it.
"Yeah, but maybe, we should take shifts, go back and get some fresh clothes for the ones that refuse." Mika gives a meaningful glance towards Kazu and Yuta.
"Not to mention some rest and food," Momo adds.
"Fellas, please listen!"
Suddenly all of the Moons and Thrive, minus the grumbling Goushi, huddle around, to come up with a plan, ignoring the platinum in the doorway.
"Yeah, that's a good idea. Otherwise once Tsubasa is up and around, she won't like hearing we neglected yourselves, waiting for her." Kento adds while pushing back his bangs.
"We can't! We just can't do that! "Tomo uncharacteristically cries out. Can't you see, no amount of planning will help us now?"
"Forget about work, this is Tsubasa we're talking about!" Yuta reminds my flatmate.
A fuming blonde steps forward, sticking his face in Tomo's." I've had enough! Damn you! From what I saw the other night, I figured you would be fighting the rest of us, to be the first! Waiting for her to open her damn eyes! But are you? No! You now, just stroll in here, only to tell us to leave …what kind of rich asshole are you?"
Tomo flips up his head, revealing barely controlled tears in shattered blue eyes. "The hospital is asking us to vacate the room, they promised to call." Tomo struggles to stay calm, ignoring Kazu's outburst.
The Moons' leader is enraged by the sight. "But, not you, right? They wouldn't dare tell their precious heir to take a powder…sounds like what happened at dinner. You taking advantage."
"That's not it." Tomo pleads.
Kazu crosses his arms. "So what we're just supposed to leave her, act like it's just another workday?! You're as bad as Goushi! "
"No, but we could all use some rest!" Tomo tries to calm everyone down. "That's all I'm trying to do."
Kento shakes his head. "After waiting …after what we just figured out, it doesn't seem right to leave her without …anyone….If we can't use this room, I'll wait in a regular waiting room…I don't give a damn if I'm recognized or not."
"That's true." Mika nods. "They can't kick us out then."
"I'll take a chance for Tsubasa," Hikaru adds. I'm sure Nome will stay too."
Yuta shakes his shaggy pink head. "Tomo, I don't care what you say, this time I won't be happily following your lead...Like some damn puppy! This time, Kazu is right."
Kento steps closer to my distraught roommate, placing a hand on his shoulder. "Man, I've never seen you like this, you're supposed to be our prince, not this. What the hell happen? What's causing you to turn your back?"
Tomo shoves his hand away. "Nothing on this earth could cause such a thing! I was only thinking of you, alright!"
A stunned Kento questions, "Me, you were thinking about me, Tomo?"
"No, not just you! All of you! I was giving you some…time." His voice trembles as his shoulders fall. "Before you find out the truth."
"What truth?" Yuta anxiously breaks in.
Tomo's words barely leave his lips. "She uh, slipped."
"The other night, she fell? While she was with you? What, happened, did she hit her head?" Kazu's eye flare towards the platinum.
Kento shakes his head, toward the enraged blonde, wordlessly asking for a minute, so he can continue. "I...I don't understand, what does that have to do with all of us waiting? You're not making any sense, Tomo."
"It's all that exposer, it's barely fighting. It's just too extensive… to her brain.-"Toma tightens his fists at his sides, no longer able to fight the tears, as they stream down his face. "They just informed me," Tomo forces his shoulders back, using his last bit of strength to look at each of his bandmates, in the eye.
"Tsubasa, our friend, my-" He swallows his unspoken words, almost unable to continue, as he throws out a shaky hand to support himself, against the door.
Has slipped into a coma and it's likely... she'll never come out of it."
