"Rooooocket~" Lianna cooed, gently nudging his shoulder. He moaned and lazily swatted at her hand, curling up more on Groot's lap. "Come on, Rocket. Breakfast is awaitin' for ya," She hooked her hands under his armpits and lifted him up to his feet, him just moaning in rejection to wake up.
"I am Groot(I guess he had too much sleep)," Groot chuckled, slowly detaching himself from the wall.
"I guess he did," she giggled, laying a kiss on Rocket's forehead.
Peter was kneeling down by Gamora's sleeping body that laid curled up behind the co-pilot's seat. He watched her sleep peacefully instead of acting like a brutal, killing assassin. But soon, he felt a hand slap him across the back of his head.
"Ow!" he yelped, looking back to find Lianna there. "What was that for?!"
"You don't think I forgot about the 'No Adora-Gamora' challenge, do you?" she slyly said, putting a hand on her hip.
"U-Um...maybe?" he pleadingly smiled, only earning a hand run over his hair and ruining its curly waves.
"I'll give you one day, one day, to try to redeem yourself in the challenge, but you must try to avoid Gamora for the whole day; starting after breakfast," she said, walking over to Drax to wake him up.
"Fine," he bluntly said, angered that the bet had notched up to a higher difficulty for him to abide.
She just giggled as she knelt down in front of Drax, who was sleeping against the wall with his legs and arms criss-crossed.
"Drax, wake up," she said, resting her hand on his shoulder. He quickly fluttered his eyes open and looked up, smiling a little to see it was her.
"Good morning, Lianna," Drax said, putting a hand on her shoulder too.
"You slept well?" she asked, taking his arm and helping him up.
"Yes, I did," he said, stretching his arms back.
"Glad you did," she said smiling, before turning around and walking behind the counter to announce "Breakfast in session!" With that, she opened the microwave, laying out the food with multiple arms she formed.
"I am Groot(Come on, Rocket)," Groot said, standing Rocket up before betting up too.
"Why'd you wake me up so early?" Rocket whined, slowly walking over to the counter.
"It's actually near afternoon, buddy," Peter said, taking a seat.
"Well someone should've woken me up so I didn't sleep in," Rocket said, lazily making his way up the stool.
"Well eat some breakfast," Lianna said, "There's a reason why your supposed to eat three meals a day,"
Rocket just grumbled something and laid his head down on the counter, soon being greeted by a plate of steaming scrambled eggs, pancakes, and bacon.
His eyes lit up with delight as he inhaled the delicious aroma. He sat up straight and grabbed the fork, immediately shoveling a forkful into his mouth.
"Looks like someone's hungry," Peter teased, spreading butter on his pancakes. Rocket just glared at him with his cheeks full, slowly putting another forkful in his mouth.
Lianna giggled at the both of them. "You two are goofballs," she said, giggling a little more. Peter just looked at Rocket and began to chuckle too, Rocket turning his focus back on his plate with a slightly annoyed expression.
Soon, Drax, Gamora, and Groot were chuckling too, and Rocket couldn't help but to smile too with the others.
"Where's the dish soap?" Peter yelled, standing at the currently cluttered counter sink.
"I don't know," Gamora said, passing by.
"Never saw it in my life," Rocket said, going by the other way while carrying a box of scrap metal.
"Groot?" Peter asked.
Groot nodded 'no' and followed Rocket.
"Drax?" Peter asked.
"No, I have not seen the soap for dishes," Drax said, going down to the storage space below.
"Liaaannaaaaa," Peter yelled, soon hearing footsteps coming his way.
"God, Peter, you want'ta whole planet to hear ya?!" Lianna said, sitting on the counter. "What d'ya want?"
"Where's the dish soap?" he said, smiling from how stupid he felt.
"Are you kidding me?" she said, looking at him annoyed.
He just shrugged his shoulders as she face palmed herself, slowly raking her fingers down her face. She sighed and stretched her arm over to a nearby cabinet, pulling open the door and revealing a full bottle of dish soap.
"So that's where it is," Peter said, nervously chuckling to himself.
Lianna just store at him with a 'really?' face while setting the soap down and closing the cabinet door. "You could've tried looking before yelling at everyone where is it," she said, tossing the bottle to him.
He clumsily caught it in his arms and embarrassly smiled at her, setting the bottle by the sink before clearing his throat.
"So, when are you gonna continue telling the story?" he asked, running the faucet water.
"Sometime when their asleep or out without us," she said, turning herself sideways to have her feet on the counter and back against the cupboards.
"Why not now?" he asked, squeezing some soap on to the sponge.
"Because I can't risk anyone else hearing, especially Rocket,"
"Why can't you tell the others?"
"Not to be mean, but Drax will asked many question and explanation through the story, more than what you did, Gamora will almost be like Drax but with 'why didn't you' questions, Rocket will have more nightmares and get angry at me, and Groot, it wouldn't bother him, but he doesn't like remembering the fight I had with him whole ways to when I had to leave them,"
"Wait, you left them?" Peter asked, putting his attention on Lianna.
"That's near the ending of the story, where I me-"
"Don't tell!" he exclaimed, flicking his wrist to splash her with some water from the sponge. "I don't want any spoilers!"
Lianna giggled and said "Okay then, no spoilers," as she wiped the water off her face.
"So how will we get the chance to continue?" he asked, going back to the task of cleaning dishes.
"Like I said, either asleep or alone by ourselves," she said.
"Well don't we need more food and stuff?" he asked.
"I guess," she said. "But remember?" She gave him the reminder look and he remembered.
"Oh yeah," he said. "But, wouldn't it be fine if we just quickly went to a planet and back outside the quadrant?"
Lianna thought about that for a moment. Could that work? she thought. Or would they be able to immediately track us down?
"I guess we could give it a shot," she said. "I mean, it's only for a little bit, what could go wrong?"
Henry was in the living room, watching the TV. He had known his daughter had left Earth to do some business and was fine about it. A busy girl she's became, he thought, smiling to himself.
Suddenly, multiple knocks echoed from the front door.
"Coming!" he yelled, shutting off the TV. "It better not be Mrs. Cheka again," he mumbled, twisting the door knob.
He was greeted by a thirties looking, brunette man wearing a lab coat. There was two other men behind him, wearing military-like uniforms.
"Why hello there," Henry greeted. "How may I help you?"
"Hello, I'm Professor Stein, head scientist of the Xandarian Science Control," Stein said, holding out his hand.
"Nice to meet you Mr. Stein," Henry said, shaking his hand. "Say, doesn't that name sound a little 'unearthly' to be a facility?" He knew who they were, and he hated them. He knew what they did to his daughter after Lela contacted him after finding her.
"Unearthly, no. Foreign, yes," Stein said, trying to keep their cover. "The main reason why we came here was to see if Lianna Argo was here, your daughter,"
"Yes, what about my daughter?" Henry asked, beginning to question their appearance here.
"Well we needed to ask her a few things," Stein said, looking behind Henry for any sign of her.
"Sure, sure," Henry said, "Come in!" He stepped back and let in Stein and the two men, grinning as they walked inside. But then, he slammed the door closed, getting the attention of the men. He turned the lock and reached into his jacket pocket hanging on the coat rack, pulling out a pistol. He pushed down the hammer and hovered his index finger in front of the trigger, pointing it at Stein.
"Tell me the goddamn reason why your here for my girl," Henry ordered, ready to pull the trigger in an instant.
"Oh no, what ever will I do," Stein said sarcastically. He snapped his fingers and the two armored men charged at Henry. Henry shot at the two, but the bullets just bounced off their armor, only leaving a tiny dent. They slammed him against the wall and ripped the pistol out of his hands, lifting him up by his neck.
"Where is Lianna?" Stein ordered, walking towards Henry choking.
"Gah...I...hak," Henry couldn't say a word. Stein just narrowed his eyes at him and backed up.
"Let him speak boys," Stein said. Immediately, the men backed off, dropping Henry to the ground coughing and gasping. As he got up, they grabbed a hold of him again, and threw him on to the coffee table, snapping it in half.
"AAAAUUGGH!" Henry yelled, arching his back from the immense pain. The men grabbed a hold of Henry again, lifting him a foot off ground.
"Now let's try this again," Stein said, walking over to him.
"You've hurt my daughter!" Henry yelled, still huffing from breathe lost. "You've injected shit into her and she became sick! She's not my same little girl anymore because of YOU!"
Both of the men just looked at Stein, waiting for a signal. Stein just walked to the other side of them, continuously staring at Henry. He then looked at his men, nodded his head to them. The two then gave Henry a blow to the jaw and stomach, him groaning in pain.
"Now, tell me where is your sweet, little girl right now," Stein said again, slowly feeling himself grow irritated.
Henry said nothing, just muffling groans and licking the blood off his lips.
"Where is Lianna?" Stein asked again, getting closer to Henry's face.
Again, Henry didn't respond.
"Tell me," Stein ordered, feeling angered by Henry's unresponsiveness.
Nothing.
"Tell, ME!" Stein yelled, slamming his fist on the other half of the coffee table.
"I DON'T KNOW!" Henry yelled, spooking Stein only a little. "I don't know! I don't know where she went! She hasn't been here for over a day and just left for something important,"
"It was to get away from me," Stein said, moving back to the other side of him. "She knew I was going to take her back along with her big and little friend. A clever girl I could say you have, very clever,"
"You stay aWAY FROM HER-!" Henry went to attack Stein when his men held him down, struggling against their grip. "If I ever, see near Lianna, you, will, DIE,"
Stein just looked over his shoulder to Henry and then turned around to face him. "You won't have to worry one bit, Mr. Argo, we'll take great care of her once we get her back to the laboratory,"
Just then, Stein's communicator went off. He picked it up, and deviously smiled before putting it away.
"Great news! We just picked up their signature!" Stein sarcastically exclaimed. "So you know what that means,"
Henry was first shocked, but then grew furious. He got lose from the armored men's arms and went to hit Stein in the face, when he felt a needle pierce the skin on his back.
"GAAAAH!" he yelled, falling to the floor. He pulled the object out his back quickly and groaned again, pain just filling his body, but mysteriously fading away. He looked and saw it was a tranquilizer dart.
"Fuck," Henry said, arms collapsing underneath him and landing him entirely on the floor. His vision became blurry, but he still knew where Stein was.
"Sweet dreams, Henry," Stein said, and Henry completely blacked out.
Everything in Henry's body ached.
His senses were slowly coming back along with the feelings of his body part. He groaned as he picked himself off the floor, slowly remembering what just happened.
His eyes then went into shock.
"Lianna," he muttered.
He immediately began to push himself to his knees, gripping on to the couch to help pull him up. Once he got on to his legs, he slowly made his way to his room.
"I gotta warn Lianna," he said, opening his bedroom door and stumbling across the room to his dresser. He opened the top drawer, and threw a stack of shirts out. Underneath was a communicator.
He picked it up, but soon fell to the ground. The communicator was still in his grip and he brought it closer to him. He press a red button that turned it on and punched in Lianna's address code.
It started calling.
He waited for her to pick up so he could tell her the bad news, but she didn't pick up after awhile.
"Would you like to leave a message?" the screen said, "Or would you like to recall?"
"Recall," he said, and the communicator began recalling.
Still no answer
"Would you like to leave a message?" the screen said again, "Or would you like to recall?"
Henry paused for a moment, and commanded "Leave a message,"
