"So how was your life afterwards?" Peter asked, grabbing a pop from the fridge.
"Well like my mom said hers was like, 'full of adventure, danger, and fun'," Lianna said. "Sure, I did wanted to stay with my mom a little longer back in Langara, but it was just so dull and boring, especially since it seemed so strict with some rules,"
"What all did you do after leaving your mom?" he asked, taking his seat again.
"Mainly just turning in criminals for money so I at least had some money to get me a motel and two meals a day. But I did do a little stealing during that time," she said.
"What do you mean by 'little'?" he questioned.
"I stole ten ships, one thousand units, five plasmatic guns, and a bomb," Peter just store at her with his jaw dropped.
"How it that little?!" he exclaimed, surprised by the amount of things she had stolen.
"Because technically it's little since all the things I stole was small, including the ships, portion of money, guns, and bomb," she smiled, counting out the types of objects she stole on her finger. "In fact, I actually still have the bomb with me right now! Wanna see it?"
"NO! Nope nope nope, I don't wanna see," he said, waving his hands toward her. "God, no wonder you and Rocket get along so great,"
"Well, not all the time, ya know. We still have our moments," she said, having to slightly grin to his, technically, compliment.
But soon, her eyes were locked on to a red, flashing light that beckoned her to come towards it. she got up and walked over to her communicator that lied on the counter top.
"Strange, I must've not heard my com go off," Lianna said, then pressing a button nearby the light. A holographic screen popped up and showed an icon of an outline of a person with a question mark in the center, it reading '(1) message' underneath. She pressed the icon, and soon played a video of her father.
"Lianna, your in great danger," Henry's first words were. "Stein had found me and had beaten me up pretty bad, but don't worry about me right now, it's you you need to worry about right now. I don't know where you were earlier, but now your being tracked and he's immediately coming for you. I've always said 'Don't be afraid to be scared', but I've never thought I'd be tellin' you this, and it's to run," The message ended and a boxed popped up saying 'delete or ignore'.
Lianna just froze, quickly realizing she just jeopardized everyone. She felt like she just failed the most simplest test anyone could ever take. Soon, she felt Peter's hand on her shoulder and she jumped.
"Lianna? Are you okay?" Peter asked, waiting for a response.
"He knows where we are," Lianna muttered.
"What?" he asked.
"He knows where we are," she said louder this time, and rushed over to the control board.
"You mean Stein?" he asked, walking over to her.
"Who else?! And we're all fucking dead now because of me!" she pulled up the holographic screen and began doing calculations.
"Whoa now, you need to calm down now," he said, laying a hand on her shoulder to reassure her, but just receiving her push his hand off.
"Stay calm?! I just endangered everyone on this ship! You have no idea how powerful Stein can be!" she yelled, facing him.
"Then we'll hit him back with more power," he said, triumphantly raising his fist.
"Peter, this is almost like facing two infinity stones, he has sources and machines that could disintegrate you in a nanosecond,"
"Well then, what do we do?" he asked.
"Get everyone back on the ship, pronto," she ordered, typing in numbers on the holo-screen. "We need to leave as soon as possible," He just nodded a 'yes' with uneasiness and pulled out his com, contacting Rocket. As he did so, Lianna was shocked to see their estimate time of getting away.
"What do ya mean we need to leave now?" Rocket questioned.
"Rocket I can't really say why, bu-" Lianna interrupted Peter then. "Get yer asses on this goddamn ship right now or else we're gunna leave without cha!" She then ended the call and opened up the hatch. She jumped into the pilot's and started up the engine, quickly trying to calibrate everything for a quick getaway.
Soon she heard the others come in, huffing and panting from their run here, and quickly closed the hatch. "What da hells going on?!" Gamora yelled, and that was the last thing everyone heard once the thrusters engaged and rocketed the ship off the ground.
Everyone was thrown back by the powerful force as the ship shot towards space, almost plastering them all against the wall. But soon they gained momentum again, but were being slightly shook around with the quick turns being made around straying asteroids.
Peter managed to lift himself up with the table and looked over to Lianna, seeing her with two other sets of arms that were pressing buttons, flicking switches, and adjusting levers as her original arms steered the ship. He could read the amount of stress that was showing on her face and body language. He then heard the others coming up behind him, staring in shock to seeing Lianna's current state.
"What's wrong with Lianna?" Drax asked.
"I don't know, but I do know we should buckle up!" Gamora said, then trying to steadily walk over to one of the seats. The others began to follow along as well, Rocket and Peter heading towards Lianna to latch on to her seat.
"Lianna, what's wrong?!" Rocket almost pleaded, looking up to her uneasy expression.
"I-It's nothing! It's just w-we need to go to Nova Corps!" Lianna said, not breaking her dead, straight stare from the invisible road in front of her.
"But I thought we were being given an assignment by that guy who called us?" he asked, slowly growing suspicious of his lover's behavior.
"O-Oh yeah, well he just cancelled it," she said, feeling herself being to sweat nervously.
"Don't cha think that's very sudden for him to do?" Peter then asked, and she knew what he was actually trying to tell her: 'Tell him the truth'.
She hesitated for a moment, but sadly gave in. "Rocket, there's something I have to tell you,"
"And what's that?" he said.
"I've been lying," she said, looking at him dead in the face with the expression of rueful remorse. "There was no guy asking us to catch someone and we're being chased by Stein,"
He was first off dismayed, but then became infuriated. "Stein?!" he yelled. "He found us?! Why didn't you tell me?!"
"I didn't want to make you feel insecure about it, you were looking so happy once again in your life," she blithesomely stressed, but was soon override by his frustration.
"Lianna, why would you lie to me!? I could've handled the situation!" His voice began to raise and make her want to back up into a corner. "Why do you always have to be so protective?! I can care for myself ya know!" The words struck her heart like a mother hearing her child say 'I hate you' in a way, and her mood quickly accelerated. She went to rant at him then, until 'watch out!' and 'big ship!' were suddenly thrown towards her.
She gasped and pulled hard on the steering wheel, rearing them to the right from the sudden appearance of the huge, white ship. She saw the side of ship have 'X.S.C.' printed in big, bold letters, and the abbreviation was well to known to her.
"Brace yourselves!" Lianna yelled, and thrust a lever forward. The ship then began to speed up more, and she curved it around the cargo ship before being able to go the opposite way it was going.
"Great! They found us already!" Rocket ranted, making her blood begin to boil. "What're we supposed to do now?!"
"Why don't you shut your fat mouth and let me drive!" she yelled, dodging another asteroid and throwing everyone off balance.
"Well at least my fat mouth doesn't lie to my close ones!" he spat back, his fur beginning to go on edge.
"I was just trying to keep you HAPPY!" she growled at him, whipping the ship around a smaller ship that was passing by.
"Rocket! Stop distracting Lianna, you're gonna get us killed!" Gamora yelled as she cling to the co-pilot seat with all her life.
"You don't need to! I've got plenty of other things that make me happy! And you know what else that'll make you happy?! I banged someone RIGHT after you left with your mom that day!" Everyone just went silent, awaiting for Lianna's action.
Her irises turned purple and her hair spiked up again. She gritted her sharp fangs and clutched the steering with knife-like nails. She grew twice her size and whipped her head to Rocket. "You diD WHAAAAT?!" she roared with slight demoniacs in her voice, and pulled the steering out of its socket. It violently flashed electricity at her and she quickly realized she messed up bad.
Soon they felt the cargo ship hit them forward, enough to make them enter the atmosphere of a desert planet that they were nearing. "Fuck," she said, before suddenly blacking out.
"Guha! Huff..huff," Lianna shot her eyes open, her conscious quickly snapping awake. She laid there in the orange sand for a while, huffing as she was trying to go over what just happen.
"Drax! Lianna! Where are you!" Peter yelled, quickly gaining her attention. She went to push herself off the hot, sandy floor, when pain shot through her. She immediately dropped herself back on to the ground, and just rolled over to her left.
There upon her hip was a deep, bloody cut that, by a doctor's view, would need to be stitched up. She looked down her right arm then to find a shorter cut like the one on her hip, still looking to the needs of stitching it up. She carefully sat herself up with her left arm, and soon discover another deep cut on her left thigh, blood and sand mixing in the cut.
"Fucking great," she huffed. She pulled out a pocket knife and zipped down her suit, revealing the tank top she wore underneath. She cut the tank top following the outline of her sports bra's rim. She zippered her suit back up and cut the cloth into three pieces before putting her knife away.
"Lianna!" Rocket yelled. She looked in the direction of the call as she tied up her thigh. "Where are you, Lianna!" She looked downed in worry as she quicken to tie her hip and arm. What if they're all hurt? She thought as she slowly pushed herself off the ground once more.
Once she was standing, she called out to them. "Guys! Guys! I'm over here!" she yelled, trying her best not to put so much pressure on her left leg. She heard nothing afterwards, until Rocket called back.
"Lianna! We're coming!" He yelled, and she had to smile with glee. She squinted and looked for any sign of them, finding nothing at first, but then seeing blurry dots coming in from the horizon and slowly grow in size.
"That's them," she said, and slowly began walking towards them. "Aaaand this is gunna take a good 'mount of time before getting with them,"
The others became to be more clear to see as she carried on with her good pace. And she couldn't help but to smirk all the way when she saw Rocket was in front of everyone, running like a mad man.
"Lianna!" Rocket yelled as she rushed over to her. "Your alive!" he quickly wrapped his arms around her leg and squeeze the cut.
"Take it easy, Rocket," she said through clenched teeth, and gently pushed him away from the injury. He noticed by then and went in a worry-panic attack.
"Oh my god-are you okay?! I mean your covered in bruises and all three of your bandages have blood on them and-your cheek's bleeding too-fuckin' GOD, Lianna! Your a bloody mess!" She just looked at him with a confused looked as she checked herself.
She indeed have a small cut on her cheek that was bleeding, but it wasn't like a gash like how he sounded like it was. Her bandages did have some blood, but she was going to fix them up with the first-aid kit. She had a few bruises in some areas, which didn't matter, and lastly, she wasn't bleeding anywhere else.
"Rocket, your overreacting, although I could really use an aid kit right now," she said, looking at the others. "Where'd the ship go?"
"Lianna, you broke the steering and crashed it," Peter said, trying not to frown since she destroyed his ride.
"O-Oh, yeah, well do you at least thought of bringing, the kit?" she said.
"I am Groot(I did)," Groot said, and walked forth to her, his chest opening up and revealing the white kit inside.
"Thank god one of who guys did," she said, grabbing the kit and watching his chest form back together. "But I think we should head back to the remains of whatever's left of the ship,"
"It's called the 'Milano', thank you very much," Peter snobbish said, still sad and mad about his beloved ship that was blown to pieces. "And it's this way"
As he began to lead the way to the ship, Lianna and Rocket just exchanged confused expressions before shrugging and walking off being Peter.
"I? Am Groot(Do you need some help? I could carry you if you want)," Groot said. "Sure I guess, I should really be off my leg," she said, soon being swept into his arms like a baby. "You want up here too, Rocket?"
"Pfft, I'll come up when I feel like it," Rocket said, continuing on with just walking. But a could seconds later, he crawled up Groot's back and sat on his shoulder.
"Well that was a very long decision you've made there," she joked, receiving a tug at the corner of his lip from Rocket.
Five minutes later, Lianna sees the wreckage of the 'Milano' ship.
It was broken into three pieces and the windows were all broke. Only one wing had managed to stay on and the nose of the ship was dented in cocked. Broken pieces of metal, glass, and machinery were scattered all over the place.
"Well, that was perfect parking," she muttered, hoping Peter didn't hear.
"We might be able to find or make a communicator from the Milano," Peter said.
"And by 'we' you mean 'us'?" Rocket asked, knowing he would end up making one.
"Yeah, cause I'm gonna try to find all my stuff from inside my current horror house ship," Peter said, and began walking down the hill of sand.
"But how is the ship a 'horror house' if it is not scary and not a house?" Drax asked, receiving multiple sighs from everyone.
"When you ever get the hang of this," Rocket groaned, squeezing the bridge of his nose with his fingers.
But suddenly, a gust of sand blew over them. The sound of something big and heavy was nearby them until it stopped like an engine. The sand wind finally settled down, but revealed the danger.
"Hello, Lianna," Stein said.
Well, at least it wasn't 2 weeks late, but it was 2 days late. Again, summer is very busy and people are usually are out more. Also I ran into some Father's Day card trouble so yeah; kinda hard to celebrate Father's day when you always make a card for them.
Sadly enough, I plan on ending the story with a total of 20 chapters, so there's still three other chapters you gotta read. But don't worry, I don't think this will really be the end or Rocket and Lianna ;)
