It had been seven years since the Battle of Hogwarts and the subsequent demise of Voldemort. In the aftermath of the war, the wizarding world had changed. Nothing drastic; there were still bigots and supremacists, but they were in the minority now.
In Harry Potter's personal life, there were a few changes. He had been engaged to Ginny for a while, until they had realized that their goals were too different. Ginny was focused on her quidditch career while Harry was focused on Teddy.
After Remus and Tonks' deaths, Andromeda had taken Teddy in, but when she had a heart attack less than a year after the end of the war, Harry had moved in with them. Andromeda became the mother that he had never known and Teddy the son that he had always wanted.
On this particular day, Harry Potter and Teddy Lupin were in London, just leaving Diagon Alley after a visit to Weasley's Wizarding Wheezes when all of a sudden a giant scorpion came charging past them, scattering tourists to the right and left. Harry grabbed Teddy, apparated back to Grimmauld Place and left Teddy there, telling Kreature to keep an eye on him. Then he apparated back.
Most of the tourists had already gotten out of the path of the scorpion. Most of them were hiding under tables, but a few of them seemed to be fighting the scorpion.
Harry frowned. The people fighting the monster were a group of teenage girls. With bows and arrows. His frown deepened. What were they doing with bows and arrows?
He shrugged off his questions and attacked. After the scorpion had been defeated and had dissolved into sand, which only raised more questions, Harry turned to speak with the apparent leader of the girls, a rebellious looking teenager.
"What in Merlin's name are you doing?"
She gave him a searching look. "A wizard, are you?" She waved a hand past his face. "You didn't see anything. These are not the Hunters you are looking for."
Harry blinked away the moment of confusion. "Did you just try to obliviate me?" He pulled his wand out again and stuck it in her face.
"Woah," she said, raising her hands. "We're friendly, I swear. No need to call your ministry over here, we'll just leave and you can forget that you ever saw us."
"I don't think so." He glared at her.
At that moment, one of the other girls came over. "Hey, boss, you need any help?" Harry saw her face and gasped. It was Daphne Greengrass. She saw him and froze. "And what's Potter doing here?"
The girl in charge froze. "Potter? Harry Potter?" she asked Harry. He glared at her. "Who wants to know?"
"Potter, this is Lady Thalia," Greengrass said.
"Charmed, I'm sure," Harry said coldly. "Now what is going on here?"
"You knew Remus Lupin?" Thalia said.
Harry nodded cautiously. Despite how long it had been, the use of past tense still startled him. "Why? And who are you?"
"We used to work with him," Thalia said calmly. She gave him a searching look, then nodded. "Come. Our Lady will speak with you."
"What if I don't want to come?" Harry protested belligerently.
"Potter!" Greengrass hissed. "Our Lady doesn't speak to just anyone; this is a great honor, you would have to be an idiot to refuse." Her tone implied that she already considered Harry an idiot.
He shrugged. "Fine, then." Even if things went downhill, he could take anything that they threw at him. He was Harry Potter, after all.
Harry watched as the girls set up their tents in a nearby park almost miraculously fast. None of the muggles seemed to notice them, but Harry didn't see any signs of a wand among them. Not even Greengrass was using a wand. Who were these people? And why did Greengrass look like she hadn't aged a day since the Battle of Hogwarts?
"I'm sure you have questions," a quiet voice said. Harry jumped and turned to face the young girl who was sitting next to him. When did she sit down?
"Who are you?" he asked.
"I am Lady Artemis." She said. "You are Harry Potter, the guardian of Teddy Lupin?"
He nodded.
She nodded, looking away from him to watch the other girls finishing setting up the tents. Something about her reminded Harry of Luna.
"Remus was a friend of ours," she said.
"Oh," was all he said. It was times like this that reminded him that he didn't know much of what Remus did between graduating from Hogwarts and coming back to Hogwarts as the Defense teacher.
"But who are you? And how did you know him?"
She smiled. "I am Artemis, the goddess of the moon. Remus Lupin was one of my children."
Wow, it's been two years since I updated this...sorry. I kind of forgot about this story until I was cleaning out my google drive and found the half-finished last chapter. I think I originally had plans for an epilogue, but I don't remember what they were, and to be honest, I don't really like this story anymore. But thanks for reading it, especially if you've been with it since the beginning. Y'all are all awesome.
