Chapter Eight
The Star Gazer
The arrival of the heiress's return spread through the estate like wild fire. Soon it reached the deepest parts of the mansion where the ancient star gazer resided in. Upon hearing about his protege's poor health the star gazer chuckled madly.
"It seems my prediction was correct. The time for her awakening is finally nearing!" He said in a delighted voice. "But I mustn't be too impatient. For now, I should go see that low breed swine~. Yes, after all if it weren't for her tampering Arashi's seal this would never have happened~"
Gleefully the star gazer got up from his seat and headed towards Hoshito Satsuki's nearby chambers. Once he arrived at her doors, he slammed them open, startling the widowed woman inside. As she met eyes with the star gazer her lifeless brown eyes widened and she ran towards him in pure adoration.
"Arata! You finally returned you finally came-"
However, to her horror instead of being wrapped in his warm arms she was struck coldly to the floor by his steel fan.
"Aaaarata?" Satsuki stuttered, trembling under the pureblood's piercing glare.
"You seem to have forgotten just who you are speaking to swine." He growled out. "Did you think that if you got rid of her that HE would come back?!"
"Iiiiiii"
Dissatisfied at her answer the star gazer was about to strike Satsuki once more when the door creaked open and the Hoshito head stepped into the room.
"Ah, Araki just in time. I just caught our culprit~" The star gazer said smiling at his old friend. "It turns out this thing had the gall to tamper with my darling Arashi's seals when we renewed them."
"Iiiiit wasn't me! Please Arata! I wasn't the one who-" the woman was cut off by the star gazer who slammed his hand harshly over her lips. "Do not test my patience lowborn swine. I'm already at my limit."
Araki stood watching this in silence, not even daring to look at the other pureblood's face. This caught the star gazer's attention and with one swift movement the whimpering woman grew still and the star gazer moved towards his old friend.
"Araki why do you stay so silent? Is it because of this body?" He said smirking bitterly as he caressed his own face. "Is it because this body is of your own son...is it because I took your precious son's body?"
Although Araki stiffened slightly at this comment, he continued to stay silent which angered the fair-haired pureblood. All amusement vanished from the star gazer's face in an instance, replaced with a piercing glare. "Remember this Araki, Arata is dead! This body is now MINE! I am Hoshito Arashiro! I am this clan's star gazer! I am its past and its future! Never forget that Araki!"
After his outburst the star gazer's face returned to its signature smirk. "I have to say I've grown quite fond of this body. Though it's the first time I've taken a man's body it suits me better than those old hags no?"
When Araki didn't answer him once more Arashiro tsked and finally turned away from him. "Hmph. Tell the other swine to throw this thing in the basement while I go fix Arashi's seals. Her fate will be decided by the elders." With that he left the room leaving Araki to grieve once more for his son who was trapped within the monster of their ancestors.
When Arashiro entered Arashi's room he came across the amusing sight of Arashi once again draining her dear cousin.
"Ara, ara, it looks like I'd better hurry before this one dies of blood loss." He joked, pushing the half conscious Senri out the way to take his place by Arashi's bedside. He slipped the thin sheets off of the younger pureblood's bare body and smirked once more at the disorientated markings that were tattooed onto her skin. "Such beauty. It's a shame I have to get rid of these." Arashiro said as he trailed his long fingers over the dark marks.
For a moment the star gazer took his time to admire the works of the late Hoshito Satsuki. The bliss he felt when the darkness eloped his fingertips was orgasmic. But he had a job to do and no matter how much he wanted this star to fade he still needed its light. The playful smirks and meaningless words of Arashiro faded into the serious expressions and low chants of the star gazer.
The fair-haired vampire took out a small vial of blood and a thin brush from his sleeve pockets and dipped the brush into the vial. When the brush had absorbed enough blood he started, drawing new seals over the old ones, chanting vigorously to separate the old from the new. Once that was done Arashiro slammed his palm down onto Arashi's shoulder causing all the seals to start glowing a bright blue before disappearing underneath her pale skin.
It didn't take long for him to redo the seals and as he finished, he took one last look at his work before draping the sheets back onto Arashi's unmarked body and disappearing out of sight. Once he was gone Senri quickly retook his place by her side and waited patiently for her to wake.
Shortly after his departure the heiress slowly began to stir from her disturbing slumber and weakly called for the mahogany haired aristocrat. "Sen...ri."
"Shh." Was all the younger vampire said but it was enough for Arashi to know that he was there.
