Leone was a denizen of a realm who wielded a weapon called an Imperial Arms she died long before her realm was abandoned by it's inhabitants. she was resurrected by Quan-Chi in order to use her unique skills. Before she died in her former life, her Imperial Arms was destroyed. Quan-Chi resurrected her and recreated her Imperial Arms. Leone eventually regained her memories and escaped into the forests of Outworld and formed an alliance with another fugitive named Yang Xiao Long.

After defeating the elemental named Blaze the power flowed into Leone causing her Imperial Arms to merge with her as she became a goddess of beasts.
