-"To talk about Hanna means I have to tell you some stuff about myself. I grew up in foster care. My mom abandoned me when I was a child. She left me with my dad's sister. My aunt sent me to foster care and I spent most of my life living in the system. When I was 17 I arrived to Rosewood and met Hanna. She was the first person to show me what kindness was."

Caleb made a sign to the barista to bring them two coffees once they finished eating. He then continued talking, noticing how Emma looked completely relaxed sitting there in the Brew. He continued his story carefully, knowing he couldn't tell her the whole truth yet.

-"Hanna offered me a place to live. She and Ashley were going through a rough time themselves, but that didn't stop her from offering me a place to sleep and eat." Emma's eyebrow shot up in wonder. She sensed there was something more to Caleb's story.

-"I don't imagine her mom agreeing to have a new kid inside her house. Wasn't she worried? How did she convince her mom to take you in and not call the authorities instead?" Emma watched Caleb shift a little in his seat as he pondered how to answer her.

-"Truth be told, she didn't. I stayed in their basement several weeks before Ashley found out what was going on. She didn't react so good to the news and kicked me out. I honestly understand why she reacted that way. But Hanna wouldn't budge. We camped out that first night after Ashley kicked me out. The following day Hanna's mom had a change of heart and I was offered the chance to live with them in their guest room."

-"You mean she gave into emotional blackmail? Wow this girl you're talking about must have been quite some force of nature." Caleb shook his head, his eyes darkening as he stared off into space a little.

-"She was fierce and loyal and compassionate. When she gave you her friendship and her heart she would stick by you no matter what happened. The only things she ever did wrong were caused by her desire to protect her mom, or me, or her friends. But there was never a single vile bone in her body."

-"And you love her after all this time?" Emma studied Caleb's face, his words had struck a chord inside her heart. When he spoke she could virtually see the things he mentioned happening. Whatever had happened to these girls it was clear that Caleb still held a candle, waiting for his girl to return home. .

-"I will always love her. We had our share of problems and break ups but not once have my feelings for her changed. I will continue to do the impossible tosee her back home, no matter what the costs are. So yes, you could say I still do love her."

-"But what if you find her and she's changed? What if she's not the same person as before? What if she doesn't love you anymore?" A heavy silence fell between them as Emma looked around the room before she turned her head back to Caleb once more.

-"Even if she didn't love me anymore I would still want her to be home and safe and happy with those she loves. It's a decision that I made a long time before she went missing. I will always rather have her hate me and be safe than the other way around."

-"It sounds ... Complicated?" Emma rubbed her temple as she felt a slight headache. Suddenly it felt as if air left her lungs. "Just how far were you willing to go to help her?" .

-"Pretty far. I would have done anything to keep her safe even if that meant I would lose her." Caleb looked at her with a warm sincerity in his eyes and suddenly Emma's head began to spin with visions of a past life.

-"Hanna, you're talking to the guy who just kidnapped his own girlfriend." Images of a much younger Caleb flashed before her eyes. "And for the record? I am going to help you stop A and I'm not asking for your permission."

-"Uh, where's the food? Caleb, where have you been?"
-"He's a piece of crap, but he has a strong jaw."
-"Caleb you didn't!"
-"Of course I did..."

Emma managed to keep a straight face as her memories started to return. She remembered bits and small fragments, her entire mind becoming a mess of unsorted feelings. "What about Hanna's dad? I noticed it was only her mother at the police station today. Surely he would show up if there were news about his missing daughter?" Keeping her face straight Emma changed the subject. She needed to be very careful in handling her current situation.

-"They had a falling out a few weeks before Hanna went missing. Hanna's dad decided to pay for his stepdaughter's college instead of Hanna's and she couldn't forgive him for it. But that's just one of the reasons why they argued."

-"I see. Well I'm going to head back to my friend's place and try to get some sleep. I had a long day before leaving New York today and I could use some rest." Hanna stood up from her chair and headed for the door, Caleb following her quietly.

Once they arrived back at the police station Caleb waited outside the building near Emma's car. She walked back to her car, keys in hand. She opened the car door and stopped herself before she got inside. The wind picked up around them suddenly and Emma's loose scarf flew away from her neck. Caleb easily caught it. He returned it to Emma and leaned against her car.

-"Do you need anything else? I'm sort of in a hurry to get back to my friend's place." Opening the car door, Emma threw her purse inside before closing it and turning back to look at Caleb. He just grinned at her.

-"I thought fancy New York girls like you knew how to say please and thank you." Emma's eyes sparkled and narrowing her eyes at him she gave him an answer that made Caleb freeze in his tracks.

-"Please peel your sweaty body off my car. Thank you. Now if you'll excuse me I need to call a friend of mine that works at a law firm in New York." Electricity filled the air as Caleb moved his body away from the car, his eyes never leaving Emma's. She prayed that he would come to understand what her next few words really meant.

-"If you want I could ask the Hastings to help you out. They are the best attorneys in the state of Pennsylvania." Caleb interrupted her, volunteering to help her if needed, and she choose her words very carefully before answering him.

-"It's ok. My friend that I mentioned works at Dolce, Gabbana, and Leibowitz and can handle this quite well. " As understanding appeared on Caleb's face Hanna winked at him, giving him a look that said that they would talk later before getting in the car and closing the door. She carefully ignited the engine and drove away, leaving Caleb behind looking after her.

Once he couldn't see her car anymore Caleb walked back to the Brew. His friends Toby and Paige were there waiting inside while Ezra closed the place down. Caleb took a seat across from Paige while Toby sat near him. They remained silent until Ezra returned to join them, followed by a clearly agitated Mike.

-"My mom was at the police station when Emma arrived. Is it true? About her not having any memories? Is she Hanna?" Everyone in the room looked at Caleb, hoping that he would give them a good answer.

-"I wish I could say she is Hanna. But the rumors are true. She has no memories of who she is. And right now the police department are waiting for the lab results to know for sure if she is Hanna or not. I'm sorry about this, Mike. I really want her to be Hanna as well."

-"So we're basically back at square one? We still have no idea where A took the girls and Mona five years ago? Or how to find them?" Paige got up from her chair and started pacing through the room.

Frustration was written on everyone's faces. Caleb kept his eyes on the floor, trying to gather his thoughts. He knew it wasn't fair of him to keep secrets from his friends. They had spent years investing all their energy in finding the girls. Emma had made several references only Hanna could have known that evening. But for the moment Caleb couldn't be entirely certain that she really was Hanna.

Then there was also the fact that if Emma was Hanna and she was starting to recover her memories A would without a doubt try to kidnap her again. And that was something Caleb would not allow to happen under any type of circumstances.

Hy guys,

I'm sad to inform you that due to lack of feedback on the stories I'm currently working on I've decided to stop wrting once I finish the fics I'm currently working on. It has been one hell of a rde that I've experienced ever since I joined this world but now it must come to an end. I've seen a lot of peopl complain about the lack of Haleb writers and fanfictions existing on the internet. Guess what the lack of reviews is a big factor for that. I ersonally have always been motivated by your thoughts. For some reason you guys just won't review. So I'm sad to inform you that unless things change I ill stop writing.

Thank you for all of your attention.

Nico
