Mac entered the police station and headed straight to Jesse's office. He knocked once before entering it. Jesse smiled from her chair while Danny was focused on reading a file and taking notes. Jesse, on the other hand, was trying to come up with a timeline for the events leading up to the kidnapping.

-"I see you guys have already started working on figuring this mess out." Mac closed the door behind him. "Did you guys manage to get some rest?" Jesse and Danny exchanged a short glance before laughing.

-"We didn't actually. Danny snores and I have an uncomfortable couch. Or so he tells me." Jesse answered him while Danny mumbled something, his eyes glued to the file in his hand. Mac noticed several boxes were scattered across Jesse's office and on the floor. "What about you and Hanna?"

-"Didn't get much sleep either. Em... She was looking a little glum this morning. She has a lot to take in, which reminds me. Jessie, what do you know about her father?" Jesse cleared her throat before responding but Danny beat her to it.

-"He's an ass." Danny closed his file while Jesse gave him a disapproving glare.

-"Danny! That was uncalled for and very unprofessional of you to say." Danny closed his mouth for a second. He then gave Jesse a reply that made her groan.

-"Okay. You're right. I was out of line. He's a big douche who would rather pay for his stepdaughter's college tuition rather than his own flesh and blood's tuition. Furthermore, his child comes back home after being presumed dead for five years and he does nothing. He didn't even bothered picking up the phone to call Emma."

-"Danny, if you're not capable of controlling yourself, then I will remove you from this case." Jesse gave him a warning look while Mac took a glance at the board behind Jesse, memorizing the details. "Now why don't the two of you just tell me what we know about this case?"

-"Well, from what we know so far, the first time the kidnapper made his existence known to the girls was Labor Day weekend right before the girls' senior year. That was when Bethany Young's body was stolen from the grave."

-"She's the girl this police department believed to be Alison DiLaurentis up until she came back home." Jesse sighed and then settled better into her chair. "When Alison came back, heads in this police station should've rolled, but the detective that handled her case was dead."

-"Okay, so the body was stolen and, from what I see in this file, some personal items were stolen as well." Mac grabbed a file with a report that Wilden had made about the events. Going through it, Mac sighed. "Detective Wilden really seemed to have a personal grudge against these girls."

-"From what we found out, he may have had a thing with Alison. At one point, her friends believed he had gotten her pregnant and killed her because of it. Not sure how much of it is true though. Alison is not a reliable witness and she most certainly never gave anyone straight answers."

-"Wait up. Are you saying that a police officer, a man well within his 20's, had an affair with a 14-15 year-old girl? And no one noticed this happening? No one bothered reporting it? No one told her parents what was going on?" Danny watched Jessie, incredulous.

-"I said they may have had an affair, but that has never been confirmed. And besides, Danny, people don't act normal in Rosewood. It's the only conclusion I managed to come up with in the time I have been here. Anyway, apparently CeCe Drake, one of Alison's friends, was the one to mention rumored affair to the girls. She is still on the run for killing Darren Wilden."

-"This is getting so confusing and hard to follow. But I don't see how Mona Vanderwaal factors in. How was she connected to this?" Mac headed over to the board, making notes on it based on what Jesse told him. He made sure to start adding questions and also to connect arrows between people that were a part of the case.

-"Well, she was the original A. When she was discovered, she was sent to Radley Sanitarium. The person that we assume to have kidnapped the girls apparently stole the game, as she called it, while she was in there. And after that, Mona became expendable. So A kidnapped her and faked her death, framing Alison and her friends for the "murder" and causing the entire police department look like idiots And then, A kidnapped the girls as well, which brings us to today."

-"So basically there's a mad man out there that we know nothing about except for the fact that he's obsessed with Hanna and Alison and their friends. And we have no starting point to track him down." Danny's voice sounded irritated as he almost threw the file on Jesse's desk.

-"Not quite. I want to see the bank records for everyone these girls were connected to. Parents, lovers, friends, classmates. Also have someone inform us who went on vacations and who stayed in Rosewood. The amount of food they are buying and how. What incomes they have. Ask Adam to work on this as well. Those girls are still alive, but their time is running out. Jesse, I'm going to need a list of the patients, medical staff and visitors at Radley from the time Mona was there. This is our starting point. Now let's get to work."

Danny got out of his seat and dialing Adam's number, he walked out of the room, talking to his friend. Jesse watched him go and sighed. She felt much better knowing she had the support of her friends in dealing with this particular case. "Mac? Do you really think that going through that information will do any good?"

-"I'm not sure yet. But whoever this person is, they heavy a very large pocket to be able to hide their tracks so well. A large pocket and also a very high I.Q. My mind keeps going to the night those girls were kidnapped. This person is probably a man. I don't see a woman being able to kidnap four girls so easily. They would need a lot of strength to do so."

-"How do you feel about going to the place the girls went missing? It's still a sealed police crime scene and people aren't allowed to go there anymore. Maybe we could find something new. And don't tell me it's a bad idea. You are one of those people who always notices new stuff and I'm getting cranky being tied to a desk."

-"Okay. Let's go see the kidnapping site." Mac watched Jesse grab her keys. They walked out of the office and she locked it. Once they reached the lobby, Jesse went over to Danny and gave him the keys to her office, explaining where they were going. Danny nodded his head in acknowledgment. He made sure to promise to keep Jesse's office under lock and key if none of them were there.

Hanna felt restless as she and Caleb walked out of her house, got into her car, and drove off. She hated the idea of being back in Rosewood, knowing that someone was always watching her moves. She stopped the car once they reached the Rear Window Brew. As Caleb got out of the car and headed towards the coffee shop, she followed. Turning her head to close her door, she was struck with another one of her memories.

Caleb walked out of the Brew, a tired, strained look on his face, carrying a cup of coffee. Hanna leaned against his car, her heart beating fast against her ribs. When he finally walked the few steps to his car, Hanna closed her eyes and shook her head slightly.

-"Look, whatever happens... I'm not going to let that be the way we say goodbye." Each word seemed to cut through her heart as she anxiously waited for him to give her an answer. Hanna still prayed that he would not leave, but she was also certain that he would.

Caleb nodded his head in acknowledgement, placing his coffee cup on the top of the car. "Goodbye."

-"Goodbye." Hanna smiled sadly, wondering how she was still able to keep herself together knowing he was leaving her for good. She stepped aside from the car door while Caleb got inside. Turning around, she noticed his coffee cup. Taking it into her hand, she handed it to him. "Hey, you'd forget your head if it wasn't attached." She managed to make a joke at him.

-"I'm not going to forget anything." Caleb's bleak response was muffled by his sad voice before he started the engine, causing Hanna to step aside while he drove away.

-"Hanna, is everything alright?" Caleb turned from the Brew's entrance to look at her. She shook her head at him slightly.

-"Yeah. I just have a lot on my mind right now. Do you mind getting me a black coffee while I wait for you here?" Caleb nodded his head at her before walking right inside the Brew. Hanna closed her eyes, letting her mind continue to wander.

-"Can I ask you something?" Caleb's voice sounded tired as he waited for Hanna to place her bag inside her car.

-"Sure." Hanna nodded her head at him.

-"Do you believe me?"

-"I don't know what to believe. I know what the smart thing would be, but I don't think the smart thing would make me as happy as you do."

Caleb seemed relieved by her answer before shifting his eyes to stare at the ground. "What are you going to tell the others?" Caleb finally turned his head to look at her.

-"Nothing. We know how to keep secrets." Hanna bleakly smiled at him.

-"There's nobody like you in the entire world." Hanna could hear Caleb's relief filling his voice after she gave him her answer. She took a step towards him and wrapping her arms around his neck, she brought his head in for a kiss. Eventually she took a step back, releasing him.

-"Keep that in a safe place. Don't lose it." Caleb looked down at her, a soft, loving smile appearing on his lips.

-"I won't." It was all the answer Hanna needed before getting inside her car and driving away, leaving Caleb behind...

-"Are you sure you're okay?" Caleb's voice interrupted Hanna's thoughts. "You seemed to be in a very distant place." He handed her the coffee, watching with a little wonder on his face when she took a sip from it. "This feels weird. The old you hated black coffee. You never would've traded your latté for any other type of coffee under no circumstances."

-"The old me didn't have a stressful job and a small kid depending on me to provide food and shelter for us both. Right now, this is my only vice and believe it or not, I'm still trying to get rid of it. How about we go for a walk? You can tell me what you've been up to these past few years?"

-"Sure."

So are you guys still alive after the premiere? I couldn't stop thinking about it the entire week. That hug was so ... got me all over the place. It still does almost one week later.

Chiruri, my dear, it's been so long since I've read one of your reviews. It's good to know you are still here with me.

Safrena, I'm glad you liked this chapter.

Anon, I sometimes take a cue from my readers and from what they tell me. For now Ashley is still in the dark about Hanna. however Mamma Marin will definitely pay a lot more attention to how Hanna behaves right now. And so will her friends from the CSI team. I'm actually terrified of writing the chapter about Hanna's escape. while I will remain as canon as possible about the way the girls escaped Charles dollhouse Hanna's way of escaping will make you guys hate me, if I manage to pull it off the way I plan for it to happen.

Liss, hang in there. I'm really trying my best to keep you guys guessing and wondering what will happen next, this fiction hasn't even reached it's half point. It probably might be one of the logest fics I ever did.

Ella, the premiere was nuts. Literally nuts, but if I talk about it I might think of the haleb hug and get the feels again. So I won't, I'm still trying to keep it together long enough to post this.

And now I have a small announcement to make. Lately I've been feeling lazy. I do have inspiration and I do know where I'm going with this story, buuut I just can't find it in myself to write anything, so I'm going to take a break from updating my fics for like 2-3 weeks. Which might seem a lot but it's something that i need to do. I know you guys will be left hanging but if I'm to keep up writing goo stuff then I need to take a break. Now! However I still want to know what you guys think of this chapter so rememeber to review. Make me proud.

Nico.
