Alison DiLaurentis parked her car across from the police station, got out and headed towards the Brew. When her fiancée Lorenzo had called the previous night and told her of Hanna's unexpected return home she had taken the first flight out from LA and came back to Rosewood. She was now working as script writer for several film companies.
Ever since the girls had been kidnapped and Mona was revealed to be alive, Alison had devoted her entire being to find them. She had changed over the course of the years. Lorenzo had been a very big part of it, supporting her and allowing her to discover the new Alison.
Alison stopped herself when she spotted Caleb walking out of the Brew with two coffee cups in his hand. She noticed him walk over to a petite brunette standing by his car. The woman's body was turned to her but she felt familiar. Clearing her throat, Alison made her way over to them.
-"How about we go for a walk? You can tell me what you've been up to these past few years?"
-"Sure."
Hanna's voice made Alison freeze in her tracks. She cleared her throat causing Caleb and Hanna to turn their heads at her. Caleb's eyes narrowed when he saw her but he refrained from saying anything to her. Hanna, on the other hand, studied her carefully.
-"I understand." Alison's voice sounded in the Marin kitchen. "You don't have to feel this way. I can show you how to get rid of it." Alison looked directly at her as Hanna felt tears streaming down her face.
-"I see the rumors are true. You're really back Hanna. I'm Alison, Alison DiLaurentis, resident spawn of evil in this town." Alison turned her head to look at Caleb who still looked at her with narrowed eyes. "Take it easy, Caleb. I'm here to play nice. Those were my friends that went missing."
-"You're absolutely right. Those were your friends who went missing because of you. So go play nice somewhere where your company is actually accepted and needed." Alison shifted on her feet a little, looking at them.
-"Caleb, this is not the time or place for such a conversation. Not when so many things are at stake." Hanna cleared her throat, trying to shake off the uneasy feeling she got around Alison.
-"Oh My God. Aria is going to die." Alison paced in front of the fireplace at the Montgomery household while Hanna pulled her sweater closer to her body, tears coming down her face.
-"Will you keep your voice down? They are all upstairs." Hanna whispered, trying to calm herself.
-"What would've happened if I didn't come down?" Alison narrowed her eyes at Hanna, pointing her finger towards the stairs. "You know what? No, don't tell me. It's too gross. That's Aria's baby brother."
-"He's two years younger than us." Hanna tried to defend herself and fight Alison back.
-"Exactly."
-"Look, Ali, I'm not like you. I don't have ten guys after me all the time. I'm not skinny or perfect like the rest of you guys." Hanna's voice broke again tears, filling up her eyes once more.
-"Oh honey that doesn't mean you have to settle for being a cradle robber." Alison answered her, her voice sweet, covering her sarcasm.
-"He was nice to me." Hanna whispered back to Alison.
-"Oh please. He just wanted to feel your boobs." Alison made a disgusted face. "And you let him." She turned to walk out of the room while Hanna got off the couch, trying to stop her.
-"Ali please, please promise me you're not gonna say anything." Hanna cried.
-"Okay. I won't tell Aria you hooked up with her brother and that's only because she would never forgive you." Alison looked at Hanna, pitying her. "And I just don't want to see that happen to you. Look at me." Her voice softened. "Someday someone will love you for exactly who you are. It just might take you longer than the rest of us, is all." Alison smiled and left the room leaving a crying Hanna behind.
Alison and Caleb continued to stare at each other for a few minutes before they both turned to watch Hanna. She remained quiet for a few minutes before taking the look around them. Though the street was still empty it finally struck Hanna that A could listen to their conversation.
-"Look, Miss DiLaurentis, I'm not aware of the sort of relationship you and I had years ago. I'm not sure if I want to remember any of it at all. But I do know that our friends are still out there and the only way to bring them back is for all of us to work together. We can all go at each other's throats later. However, this is definitely not the place to talk about this matter."
Alison and Caleb both seemed to understand where she was coming from, talking about A in public places. Alison cleared her throat, nodding her head slightly at them. "You're right. All of this can wait until later. Right now, I'm going to head to the police station and visit my fiancée. But we do need to talk about this. Perhaps we should all meet at the Brew later?" Hanna nodded her head before Alison walked away.
-"Why would Ali trust Noel Kahn?" Emily's voice sounded through the quiet room as the four girls waited for Noel's return.
-"Because he has secrets too." Alison's voice from the door took them all by surprise. They all turned their heads, getting off the couch simultaneously.
-"I wanna hug you and slap you at the same time." Hanna spoke, phrasing out the thought that crossed all the girls' minds ever since they learned Alison was alive.
-"I could use a hug," Alison admitted, defeated. She stepped inside the small apartment and went straight into Hanna's embrace.
-"I don't like this. You shouldn't let her get inside your life again, Hanna. Everything that happens in this town is either related to her family or Radley Sanitarium, usually it's related to them both." Caleb frowned, watching Alison cross the road and enter the police station.
-"Like I said, we all need to work together to get those girls back home. But before we do that, let's finish our walk and you can tell me what you've been doing so far."
-"Not much. I own my own web design company and on occasions I help the police with their investigations. I'm something like their resident go to hacking expert and in exchange they keep me in the loop with all the new developments regarding your investigation."
-"I see. I think it suits you. Still, how exactly were you able to start a web design company?" Hanna finished her coffee and threw the cup in a nearby trash bin. She started walking towards the park, Caleb by her side.
-"My mom. She gave me the money I needed for it once she realized that I would never be able to leave Rosewood behind. Not as long as there was a chance that you were alive." Caleb smiled as they reached the park's entrance.
-"Sounds great. I'm glad things worked out between you and your mom." Hanna smiled at him while Caleb took a seat on one of the swings, looking back at her.
-"If we did it's because of you. My entire current relationship with my mom and everything I have today is because of you." He looked up at her, remembering one of his most cherished memories of her.
-"Hey." Hanna arrived behind Caleb quietly. He turned his head to look at her from where he was sitting on the swings. "You know, you are the worst delivery guy in the history of pizza."
-"Sorry. I got sidetracked." Caleb tried to smile at her.
-"Mind if I sit?" Hanna threw her bag on the ground, taking a seat on the swing next to Caleb. She waited silently for him to talk and tell her what was going on in his head.
-"She had two other sons while I was in foster homes." Caleb finally started talking to her. "Why didn't she come get me sooner?" The pain in his voice told Hanna a lot about all the questions he had about his mom, being abandoned and how life had been for him until then.
-"I don't know but maybe she wants to make it up to you now." Hanna tried to comfort him despite knowing it would be in vain.
Caleb's response only served to confirm her thoughts. "You can't make up for something like that." Caleb's voice expressed years of pain and frustration.
-"I know that you're angry, but don't you want to at least hear her out? You have no idea what was going on in her life then." She looked at him.
-"I don't want to know." Caleb protested weakly, his words sounding like lies even to his ears.
-"Yes you do. Caleb, it has tortured you for 12 years. Find out what really happened so that, at the very least, you can stop guessing." Hanna felt like sighing when she realized he wouldn't budge. "Look if you call her, the worst that can happen is that you never speak to her again. The best that could happen is that you actually get to know her. And both are better than what you're doing right now." She smiled at him, taking his hand.
Hanna's phone started ringing, interrupting their thoughts. She smiled, answering it. "Hey baby! How are you doing? Did you have fun at the zoo?" She laughed, hearing somebody talk loudly over the phone and squealing before they hung up. Turning her head once more to Caleb, she sighed. "Abby loves going to the zoo and amusement parks. She literally adores all the creepy rides. Two of my friends from New York took her to the zoo today."
-"Is it wise? What if something happens to her?" Caleb frowned, unsure what to think, but Hanna shook her head at him.
-"I trust them, Caleb. These people have been my family for the past few years and I know Abby's safe with them. If she wasn't, believe me, they would bring her here to me ASAP."
-"I'm sorry. I guess I'm overreacting a little."
-"No you're not. It comes with being a parent." Hanna answered and then they both froze in silence at her words. Caleb had yet to completely adjust to the idea of being a dad and Hanna wasn't sure how to handle everything or if he'd really want to take on such a role.

How is anyone handling the argument between Haleb? On other news I hope you like this chapter and remember to reviews. Also to those that are reading Velvet and Jeans. That story has only 3 chapters left and they will be updated as soon as Leather gets updated. 2 of them are already written and waiting to be posted. The final one is currently under development.
