Lindsay drove her car quietly. Don was sitting in the backseat with a sleeping Abby. As they reached the Rosewood town limits Lindsay gripped the steering wheel harder. She had spent years trying to avoid this place and one person in particular and now she was willingly walking into the lion's den.

-"Don? We're about 10 minutes away from the police station. You mind texting Em... I mean Hanna and letting her know to meet us there?" Lindsay remained focused on driving.

-"How do you know this, Montana? Ever been here?" Don teased her using Danny's nickname for her. Truth be told Lindsay always kept parts of herself private. There was a lot about her life before she joined the CSI team that no one knew about.

-"A couple of times, visiting a friend." Lindsay sighed in relief as she saw the police station. She quickly studied the area before parking. Don texted Hanna letting her know of their arrival and then he carefully picked up Abby in his arms and carried her inside the station.

Lindsay followed him quietly. She climbed the stairs halfheartedly, knowing that she could be asked to stay out of the investigation regarding Hanna because of her connection with one of the people involved with the case. She followed Don inside the building and soon they made their way to Jesse's office where they quietly awaited for Hanna's arrival.

Several hours before...

Caleb frowned after he and Hanna left Mac. He found it really strange that out of all the people on the planet Hanna had ended up getting adopted by the man Caleb owed so much to. Clearing his throat Caleb turned his attention to Hanna, figuring he could worry about Mac Taylor later after the girls were rescued.

-"You do know that A will see right through your plan and not fall for the bait, right? If it was that easy to set him up we would have gotten him a long time ago." They continued walking as Caleb turned his head to stare at Hanna.

-"I know, which is why I have a plan B. Since A wants Ali so much I think that the best thing to do is use her as a bargaining chip to get the girls out, but since the only way to negotiate with the bitch seems to be face to face I don't think it's a good idea to tell Ali about it."

-"What exactly are you saying? Are you actually planning on…" Caleb stopped and narrowed his eyes at her. Hanna licked her lower lip, feeling her throat go dry before answering him.

-"I plan on knocking Alison out and keeping her out of the way and talking to A by myself. Like I said she's the only real bargaining chip that we have." Caleb's eyes darkened and Hanna felt a shiver going down her spine. She knew that look and what it meant.

-"Hanna, you're talking to the guy who just kidnapped his own girlfriend." Caleb stepped in front of her despite Hanna trying to avoid looking at him. "And you know what? For the record, I am going to help you stop A, and I'm not asking for permission" Caleb grabbed her head, bringing their lips together while Hanna's hands went to Caleb's hair as he pushed her against the wall behind her.

-"You are not doing this alone. I am not letting you put yourself at risk like that. Think of our daughter. You can't risk your life like this."

-"I am thinking of Abby. That's why I'm doing this. I don't want her to be in danger because of a lunatic who spends his free time torturing people." Hanna removed a lock of hair from her eyes, a determined look on her face. "That's why I'm telling you this Caleb. There's something only you can help me with. You are going to put a tracking device on me somehow so that you can track my every move. That way in case things go wrong, you'll know where to find me."

-I'm still not sure how I feel about this but I will help you. I have access to very small tracking devices that can be put inside one of your earrings. It's so small that no one should really notice it. I can also keep Alison safe."

-"Fine. Now all we have to do is make sure Ali keeps her press conference." Hanna heard her phone ring and looked to see who was calling. She frowned noticing the caller. "Stella? Hey, what's wrong? What? Why? I don't understand. Okay, I'll wait for their arrival."

-"Everything alright?" Caleb placed his hand on her shoulder when Hanna didn't answer. "Hanna, what's wrong?"

-"One of my friends from New York is bringing Abby here. Somebody broke inside my house and took some items. They did it while Danny's girlfriend was inside. And she's a freaking police detective. A detective, not a dummy like the ones working here in the Rosewood police department."

-"Do you think A is behind this?" Caleb's question made Hanna freeze in her tracks. She slowly looked into his eyes, exhaling before answering him.

-"I'm really trying not to go there. I can't handle the fact that A would really go this far and try and harm a small child." She stopped in her tracks, however. She and Caleb had been walking for over an hour and had just arrived in front of the Cavanaugh house. Or more accurate, the place where the Cavanaugh residence used to be.

-"Oh My God!" Emily screamed as an explosion tore up her living room, causing everyone inside it to duck for cover from the debris.

-"What the hell was that?" Caleb stepped away from the place where he was standing, protecting Hanna's body. They all left the house, making their way to the street. When they reached outside, they saw things on fire and everything covered in debris.

-"Guys, what just happened?" Ali asked in a state of shock. They all made their way quietly down the street and stopped a few feet away from the place where the Cavanaugh residence was burning.

-"Toby... Your house." Spencer and Toby exchanged a look while everyone seemed at a loss as to what to do or say.

-"I take that back. A is capable of anything. Even going after an innocent child. Caleb, we have to stop him for good. I will not let A come after Abby."

-"We will. Come here." Caleb extended his arm and she stepped inside his embrace, taking in his scent. She placed her head against his shoulder and squeezed his back trying to find comfort in his presence. Her mind went to the last time he had used those words while talking to her.

-"Caleb, I liked her and I wanted to help her and now she's dead... And you were... You were in that car. You could've ..." Hanna's voice broke as she finally took in the fact that she almost lost Caleb for good. Not to A or to another girl but to a freaking car accident.

-"Come here."

Her thoughts were interrupted by her phone and Caleb's going off simultaneously. Alison had texted them, letting them know that everything was set for the press conference. Now all they had to do was send A the message.
