Hanna paced back and forth in her mother's livingroom. The house was swarmed by police that were trying to figure out how A had managed to break into and leave his message had returned home and was now watching over Abby. Claudia and James showed up as well worried by the sudden turn of events.
Caleb was currently talking with Mac. Apparently from the girls' first testimony given at the hospital they were looking for a guy. Hanna rubbed her head trying to understand what exactly was bothering her so much. If only she could remember how she escaped the dolls' house or how she ended up in New York.
Feeling that she had enough Hanna wrote a small note for Caleb and Mac letting them know she went out for a walk. Walking outside the house Hanna slowly made her way down the street towards Alison's house. Not really paying any attention Hanna jumped out of her skin as a car nearly hit her before stopping just a few meters away from her.
-"You trying to get yourself killed, Marin?" A pissed of Noel Kahn got out of the car and stopped in front of Hanna. He had been tapping the police lines and was aware of what was going on. Which made Noel even angrier to see Hanna act out so carefree, she was practically exposing herself to A allowing herself to get attacked again.
-"Noel?" Hanna looked at the man standing in front of her. Suddenly her headache returned causing her to space out.
"Well, well, well. Something new's been at it." Alison looked over the beach near the lake where her and the girls were sunbathing. "Noel Kahn's been inspecting the troops. Now you shouldn't go out so soon after a boob job." The girls watched Alison except for Aria who was focused watching Noel rub some lotion on a girl's arm." They could drop out from where they're supposed to be before you can take them out."
-"Prudence Finn had a boob job?" Emily chuckled turning her head and looking over to Alison.
-"She had do something to compensate being named Prudence." Alison looked over to Emily and gave her a small triumphant smirk. "Thinking about it, Aria?" She turned to look over to aria who was distracted.
-"Thinking about what?" aria pretended she had no idea what Alison was talking about. Alison shrugged.
-"Doing something like that to get Noel's attention?"
Hanna returned back in the present and looked over to Noel. He was staring back at her with and intense look on his face. Hanna cleared her throat. As far as she could remember, she and Noel had rarely spoken to each other. He had always kept a distance from her and the girls after the fiasco caused by him dating Aria.
-"Noel Kahn is A." Hanna could remember herself saying those words from a hospital bed. She and she remembered they had been wrong. He was just a guy that did a bad prank in the worst possible moment. Mona was in charge of the A game back then and as far as Hanna knew Noel was one of the few persons to have Ali's back no matter what happened.
-"Good to see you're remembering my name, Marin. Now tell me have you completely lost your mind? There's a maniac out there who kidnapped you and three other people once before. Why the hell are you out on the street at night alone?"
-"I needed to clear my head and I wanted to talk to Alison. What's it to you anyway?" Hanna's eyes narrowed as her back straightened while she looked at him. Noel contained a chuckle. That was the Hanna Marin that he remembered. His amusement quickly disappeared though.
-"Come on I'll take you there. I was on my way there as well." Hanna looked back and forth between Noel and his car, distrust clear in her eyes. "I'm not going to hurt you. As a matter of fact you should text Ali and let her know that I'm taking you there. Or Rivers if that's what you want."
-"Okay fine." Hanna reluctantly agreed to let him take her back to Alison's place. Noel opened the door for her letting her get inside the car and made his way to the driver's seat. Silence fell inside the car as Hanna tried to remember the last time she had been inside Noel's car.
Lindsay ran her hands through Jason's hair. She closed her eyes and let herself get caught in the kiss for a moment before taking a step back. "Jason... I'm sorry. We shouldn't have done this. I'm seeing someone." Jason released Lindsay and took a step back. She was flustered and looked at him completely surprised by the turn of events.
A door was slammed inside the house and Jason turned around to see his dad head up the stairs to his bedroom while Alison sat down on the living room couch. " What's going on?" Lindsay felt worried watching the state Jason was in. She had seen him looking like that only once before back when Alison was missing and he had suddenly learned his heritage.
-"I have a brother. Or I had one. His name was Charles. Charlie. And up until a few hours ago I thought he was just my childhood imaginary friend." Jason covered his head using his hand before eventually turning around to look at Lindsay. "Walk with me?"
-"Sure." Lindsay followed him as they passed through the yard over to the Hastings property. The couple passed through the Hastings back yard before making their way to the street. Jason stopped for a moment and stared at a place between the two properties.
-"The night that Alison was arrested for Mona's murder, Spencer and the rest of the girls stopped her. It took me a long while to forgive Spencer for doing that. It took me even longer to forgive myself for what happened that night."
Alison hurried through her living room. She stopped when she noticed the picture standing on the table. Picking it up she glanced at it wondering when her family had lost it all. What moment had sent them all to hell? Putting back on the table she headed towards the front door.
She stopped seeing Jason standing there. The sudden noise of a police alarm was heard through their window, outside the house. "Can you at least try and stall them?" She looked at him for a split second fear and hurt written in her eyes while Jason stepped aside and let her go.
-"You can't blame yourself for things that weren't of your doing. And from what I read in the police files both of your sisters have a really complicated past relationship going on. And you're the one who is really stuck with it all because they are both related to you. And I know you Jason, you're not the person to turn around and walk away from his family."
They both stopped when they saw a car coming up front to the Hastings house. "Speaking of sisters, have I ever told you about the time I went out on a date with Melissa? Whom you're probably going to meet soon. Or that her husband Eric, who was my best friend, didn't speak to me for years after it because he was jealous?"
-"Melissa? Your sister Melissa? How did that happen?" Lindsay looked at him shocked. Before Jason could answer it a pregnant woman got out of the car and looked over at them. She was followed by a tall man.
-"Jason?" Melissa made her way over to her brother and gave him a small hug. "I heard what happened at the hospital. Are you okay?" Eric followed her lead quietly. Melissa then turned around and looked over at Lindsay. "Hello, I'm Melissa Hastings-Kahn. And this is my husband, Eric, and you are?"
-"Melissa this is Lindsay Monroe, an old friend of mine." Jason tensed as Melissa looked over to him. She raised her eyebrow and stared at him giving him a look that only meant they would talk about it some more later.
-"It's a pleasure to meet you Miss Monroe. Normally I'd let my wife grill you with questions but she's been up on her feet for far too long and I plan on forcing her to get some rest. Jason we'll drop by the office tomorrow and do some catch up."
Conversation ceased to exist as Noel ad Hanna arrived at the house as well. Hanna got out of the car nodding her head to Lindsay and Jason before making her way to the DiLaurentiss house. Noel rubbed his neck making his way over to the group. "A attacked the Marin household leaving a message that the bitch can still get to Hanna and her daughter."
-"Have you spoken to Hanna? Did you tell her about...?" Melissa rubbed her belly worried filling her. Lindsay narrowed her eyes analyzing the people in front of her and taking in the conversation happening. A sudden scream coming from the house had them all running there.
Lindsay grabbed her gun from her holster running inside the DiLaurentiss household. She stopped in the doorway. Hanna was gripping Alison while a deceased Kenneth laid at their feet. "Ladies step aside. The rest of you stay where you are and nobody touch anything." Lindsay then pulled her phone and dialed the emergency number.
Alison rested her head on Hanna's shoulder sobbing while Hanna wrapped her arm around her. Jason went completely still staring at Ken's body. Melissa put her arm on his arm while Eric sent Noel over to the Hastings house to let them know what had happened.
The police sirens were once more heard inside the DiLaurentiss backyard. Alison and Hanna gave their statements quietly while a distraught Caleb drove to the house. He passed the police officers and made his way to Hanna. "Hanna are you ok? I've been trying to call you. What happened?"
-"I wanted to talk to Alison and Noel brought me over. After Alison opened the door and I stepped inside the house we heard a crash coming from the living room. Her dad was there lying on the floor. Caleb... He was dead."
-"Come here." Caleb extended his hands making Hanna step in between his arms. Ashley and Ted had graciously agreed to watch over Abby as soon as Hanna called Caleb telling him of what happened to Ken.
Jessie and Don made their way to the DiLaurentiss house. Danny had been at the station when Lindsay called. Jessie stopped looking over the group of people scattered across the yard. Hanna and Caleb were hugging while Jason kept a crying Alison in his arms. Melissa and Eric Kahn were talking to Lindsay while Noel Kahn was looking over to Hanna with a haunted sad look in his eyes.
Stella had called Mac earlier to inform him she was on her way over to Rosewood with the lab results of the break into Hanna's place. "What do you got Monroe?" Jessie made her way to her friend. "What happened here?"
-"Death by heart attack. Alison was inside the house with K... With the victim when Hanna showed up to talk to her. The rest of us had been outside the house. We heard a crash and when we got inside the house the victim was on the floor, dead."
-"What is it with this town and people dying everywhere? Especially here?" Don shook his head at Lindsay. "Just a curiosity Monroe are you as big of a cock blocker for Danny or you save it for me?" Jessie hit his arm while Lindsay shook her head and made her way to Jason. Lorenzo had arrived and was now trying to comfort Alison.
-"Jason, I'm so sorry for all of this." Jason hugged her while Danny looked over at them in silence. Lindsay returned the hug for a minute while everyone stared at them. "I am right here for you if you need me."
-"Careful Linds. The way I need you right now isn't just as a friend are you sure you can afford to offer me your support?" Jason took a step aside looking at her before turning his head to Danny. "And as much as I hate it he seems to be a great guy."
-"He is." Lindsay smiled looking over to Danny, a pang of guilt crossing her mind as she remembered the kiss Jason gave her just a few hours before. "But so are you. And you mean a lot to me Jason, too. I don't want you to ever doubt this."
Noel looked over to Hanna before making his way over to Eric. "I'm heading home. If you need me call alright?" Eric nodded his head watching Noel make his way to Alison. She looked up from where she was talking to Lorenzo. Alison let herself be guided by her instincts. Hugging Noel she started crying again.
-"Don't leave me Noel. I can't take loosing you as well." Noel kised Ali's temple while she cried on his shoulder. Lorenzo watched his fiancé wondering when exactly she had become so close to Noel.
-"I'm not going anywhere Ali. It's still you and me against the world remember?" Noel lead her back inside the house while a strange look of understanding made his way inside Lorenzo's eyes. He followed them inside the house a determined look on his face.
-"I think you should leave. Alison could use some rest and time alone." Alison turned her head to look at Lorenzo from Noel's arms. She took a step towards Lorenzo but Noel's hand stopped.
-"And I think that that's not your call to make. My best friend just asked me to stay here with her, seeing as how she just lost her dad. You may be the fiancé but I am the one she needs here right now." Noel calmly stood his ground while Ali tensed.
-"Lorenzo I need Noel with me. He has been there for me when no one else was over the past few years. I trust him and he's my best friend." Alison spoke softly her eyes pleading with Lorenzo.
-"What about me Alison, just what the hell am I to you? Why do you need Noel and not me? Will you actually ever let me in? Just forget it... He can stay and I will leave, but make no mistake I am not coming back. I will take my stuff away tomorrow." Lorenzo walked out of the house and Ali sighed looking over to Noel.
-"He is an ass. To dump you on the night that your dad died. I told you he is not worth your time Ali." Noel shook his head and looked over to where Hanna was talking to Caleb. "What happened here Ali?"
Alison followed his eyes watching Hanna for a second before pouring two glasses of whiskey and handing Noel one. "I just found out I have an older brother named Charles. Dad and I argued about him keeping Charles a secret for so long. And now he is gone".
Noel sighed taking a seat looking over his glass. "We're quite a pair, Ali." Alison sat besides him resting her head on his shoulder. "So Kate, Hanna's step sister. What do you think about her?"
Noel's question made Alison flinch. She turned her head to look over to Noel. "Please don't make me loose someone else today, Noel." Ali pleaded with him her eyes clouded by suppressed feelings and memories. Noel nodded his head, an arm wrapped around Alison. He stayed like that until she fell asleep.
Placing his glass on the table Noel gathered Alison in his arms carrying her to her bedroom. Tucking her into her bed he turned around to leave after he kissed her forehead. "Goodnight Ali." He made his way out of the house running into Jason. "She's asleep. This day exhausted her." Jason nodded his head while Noel left the DiLauentiss house.
The following days were quiet. But as the town of Rosewood knew the silence only meant brewing storms. The girls were released from the hospital and soon the press left the town. Hanna and Caleb took turns keeping a watch on Abby while Ali made the arrangements for her dad's funeral.
The day of the funeral Hanna found herself standing in front of the small church unsure what to do. Caleb placed his hand on her back and she turned to look at him. He smiled at her as Toby parked his car in front of the church. A tired but determined Spencer made her way to them. Aria got out of the car as well followed by Ezra.
Emily and Paige arrived shortly after that. "Wow, I think that the last time all of us were in the same place together was during the Christmas we all spent at Spencer's place." Paige tried to break a small conversation while they all waited for Alison and Jason to arrive.
-"Oh god that was such a weird experience. The hacker, the gay girl, the cop with a broken leg and their former teacher posing in Santa boxers...?" Hanna smiled at the memory and everyone else chuckled. "I wish I took a picture of it."
-"I did." Aria blushed while Ezra coughed to cover his embarrassment. Caleb raised an eyebrow shaking his head. "I believed that once everything was over we would all need some good memories to look back to."
Conversation stopped as Jason and Alison arrived at the church. Noel showed up soon after that and wrapped an arm around Ali's waist leading her inside. "You know it still bothers me that we know nothing about Alison and Noel's friendship." Emily frowned at the sight.
-"Em, try to give Noel a break. He has never given us as much trouble as others have. I can't remember a time he was rude to me. Maybe to Aria or Spencer but not to me or you." Hanna felt the need to defend Noel. Everyone just stared at her. "We should get inside before the ceremony starts." She shrugged her shoulders questioning her own decision of defending Noel all of the sudden.
