Context: "Ninja Ninja Tactics" is Quest-style story posted by Viva01 on Questionable Questing, a NSFW story forum. My handle on that forum is Stormfury. Quests work through having readers post and vote on different presented decisions that effect the story, such as through decisions a character chooses, or loot that is found. There is also often a randomness factor using dice rolls to determine the results of character actions/fights/etc. NNT is a Quest that is based on an OC who is Kakashi's twin brother, and follows his escapades as he is growing up. This has greatly changed the timeline of Naruto, and is an extremely long read that is still on-going. Omake in Quests usually earn "points" that can be turned in to positively effect dice rolls for a single chapter, and I have written several for this Quest.
This Omake received Canon status in the quest. The chapter follows one of the many OCs in the quest, due to it starting when Kakashi/Karasu (the OC twin) were born, and only currently in story is around age 12-13ish... 743 threadmarked updates from the author later. Also, being a Quest on a NSFW forum means a lot of... "relationship building" occurs, and most girls Karasu's age are into him. Shibue is an OC Aburame who is by far Best Girl in the quest, and the Chuunin lead of Team Shibue, originally her genin cell, who is one of the girls closest to Karasu. Kenichi is an OC Kurama, Kaiya is an OC Uchiha, and Shiroko is an OC Hatake - Karasu and Kakashi's younger sister who is absolutely adorable. The other named Aburame are OCs I made up for this chapter. Sachi is an OC Senju is one of the two main girls of the quest, and is Shizune's best friend. Pumba is Shizune's pet pig (and is not Tonton, but when you have the ability to vote on rewards, sometimes things just happen).
If you want to know why Shibue is best girl... this Omake captured her personality well enough to be considered Canon for a reason. As is the fact that all of my Omake for her have titles that are Bond movie references.
In Shibue's Secret Service
~Shibue PoV~
All may be quiet at that moment on the Northern Front, but Shibue knew that wasn't a reason to be idle. Though of course Team Shibue still patrolled, it seemed that the evil Ty sisters were at least good enough to keep their word about moving to a different deployment. 'The blessed quiet... the absence of the dreaded -"
"Hey Bugsy! We got some visitors here, they were looking for you!" Kaiya didn't notice, she never did (until it was too late), but Shibue could tell that the three young Aburame clansmen following her could sense her growing agitation. Maybe it was her swarm's increased vibration and movement? Or perhaps it was the way Doomsday began to audibly growl from his perch on top of her head. 'He is coming along quite nicely in his training. Perhaps Karasu could train him to talk? Hmm, I'll have to think on this... Operation ManSpider? Operation Spidersong? I'll have to think on this.'
"Kaiya, you know the punishment for using that name" - "No, not the bugs!" - "but seeing as you brought me more minions, this lapse will be forgiven... this time. Remember this, Kaiya. Why? Because while I may be a brutally effective Dark Lady to my foes, I can be a magnanimous ruler to those who aide me." Did Kaiya just roll her eyes? Hmm, while punishing her for that would cement her image in front of the new minions, perhaps it would be better to let that one go. Best to not scare them off - better to have them learn their place as minions first before they realized all that went with it.
She took a good look at the boy and two girls. She knew who they were, though they did not socialize so often - They were younger than her, though not by much. Perhaps if her peer group was more traditional in their behavior, she would have been closer to them out of necessity, but luckily Karasu was... Karasu. Shiyori, Sanae, and Seiji were distant cousins of her, and were 7 or 8 years old. Dressed in traditional Aburame coats, as was proper, there was something off about each of them, that was not proper. Shiyori's hair was an odd electric blue color, Sanae was wearing red (though still opaque) sunglasses, and Seiji was wearing a happuri in place of a normal forehead protector, in the same style as the honored Nidaime... except that it was bright green.
'At least my new minions come color-coded. I do believe that this makes for ready code names as well.' Shibue nodded at Kaiya, who scampered off to do whatever it is she did when she was not under Shibue's direct oversight. Probably setting something on fire, if she had to guess.
"Well, new minions, what brings you to call upon Lady Doom Bug? Perhaps you need some training? Or am I to lead you on a patrol? I would be surprised by that. Why? You are younger than most ninja they allow to patrol on this front these days, due to not having the Mist front to maintain, and the returning veterans from Konoha. Or are you here to challenge me for supremacy? I must warn you, I will not go easy on you. Why? Because my minions belong to me, and I have spent too much time training them to give them up easily."
Her three new minions exchanged glances, though they kept their emotions well in check, as was proper. Or at least they tried to - she could see them exchanging kikaichu rapidly, and the vibrations of their swarms flexed unsteadily, a sure sign of weakness. It was important to learn how to observe how to read the swarm signs - such knowledge was crucial in dealing with more difficult foes, like her mother. But their swarms began to harmonize, so it seems as if they had come to a resolution. At least it did not look like they were hear to steal her current minions - perhaps them meeting Kaiya first was for the best?
None of the genin immediately spoke up, so Shibue decided for them. "You, Blue, answer my question." Taken aback, perhaps at her new title, Blue, formerly known as Shiyori, answered, "... My name is Shiyori, as you know, Cousin Shibue. It is good that you are well. We are here with Uncle Shuzo. Why? He had to deliver an important clan message, and we asked to come along. Why did we ask? To talk to you. Our own teams are not on the front, reason, it is as you said - we are too fresh genin, our teams are all still training."
Shibue stood arms crossed, silently continuing to stare down the slightly shorter preteen ninjas. To aide in her Dark Lady image, Doomsday also crossed two of his legs across his thorax, as she had trained him to do. He was such a good boy! "And why did you wish to talk to me?"
Her intimidation tactics were working - she could see Shiyori begin to sweat. Perhaps it was Doomsday, who had grown quite large? Maybe it was her emotionless stare, as she gazed down her nose at the three of them, in a manner she had practiced after seeing Uchiha Mikoto do it when Team Shibue had come across her at the market while Kenichi was acting... Kenichi-ish? Or maybe it was her swarm - an Aburame would be more sensitive to its increased activity. And maybe she was being a tad unsubtle as her bugs began shaping into a sort of cloak, "billowing" in the wind behind her, a move she practiced in the mirror regularly to ensure she had it down.
"W-w-well, cousin, we -" Unfortunately, for the sake of Shibue's amusement, Red decided to interrupt. Fortunately, for the sake of Shibue's time, that allowed their meeting to move along. "We wanted to ask you for advice. On what? Your spider. After observing subject Doomsday repeatedly fight subject Shade, we were impressed at the skill the much younger spider showed, along with its prodigious physical growth. We have all acquired Spiders with chakra potential of our own, and we obtained permission from the clan to travel here to seek your help." This seemed to rally Blue a bit, as she stuttered out, "Y-yes, that, thanks Sanae." Each of the three genin pulled out from within their coat a spider. Each spider was larger than normal, but not by very much. They were clearly enhanced in some manner, however.
'Hmm, convenient. Red's spider has enlarged eyes and fangs... that are both bright red. Blue's spider has much longer legs than usual, and is covered in long, blue hairs. Are the hairs twitching independently? And is Green's spider wearing Green samurai armor? Where would it obtain that? I must find this tiny armorer. Regardless, the further color coding is convenient, and justifies my code names. I am pleased. Why? Clearly, I am just that good.'
Shibue paced from spider to spider, observing, analyzing, and poking them. Spider-Red never took it's eyes off her - a wise decision. The hairs on Spider-Blue tracked her fingers moving around it, tracking either movement or chakra usage. Regardless, a useful ability. When it came to Spider-Green's turn, she was inordinately pleased. 'I am unsure where Spider-Green pulled out that tiny katana from, but that is absolutely adorable.' It took all of her considerable might to not squee. She had to still come up with something to make her new minions useful, after all.
'It seems as if Red is the more outspoken and fearless of my new minions, while Blue is the more timid and perhaps... moe? It reminds me of watching Sachi help out Shizune, whenever Shizune wanted anything but was too embarrassed or fearful to ask.' Shibue pondered her new minions' request. This was in her power to grant them, but what would she get out of it? It would be hard for her to make use of them, due to physical proximity - she would not have direct mission oversight, as it were. Aiding her minions was a given - this would strengthen the hive, and the village as a whole. But any forward thinking Dark Lady always made plans that achieved multiple goals, lest she fall behind and be caught out unprepared.
There wasn't much they could provide for her that she didn't already have access to, except perhaps most likely being more competent at following orders than Kaiya, which may or may not be a problem for much longer depending on how soon the transfer request for Yuri finally got processed, or training more diligently than Kenichi, but they'd still have to train to at least catch up to him. Their only advantage that Shibue could see was their location - Konoha. None of her active agents were currently in Konoha, but that did not mean she did not have plans that could be accelerated with assistance. Operation: Silver Hive was her longest term plan, as well as her slowest - it was a plan that could not be rushed, lest it lead to failure. Failure was not an option - too much was riding on this plan. Most components of the plan also actively sought its fulfillment, whether they knew about the Operation or not (they did not); but there were a few components that could be... given a boost.
A new plan was forming; how best to utilize her new assets to achieve its goals? There was one obvious choice, who needed the biggest push at each step. And Blue did remind her of her...
"Very well. This indeed is an area I can aide you with. Clarification: I accept your offer of service; in return for advice, training, and leadership, you will aide me in my own goals. Be warned - traitors are not tolerated. Traitors will be punished. Betray me at your peril. Reason, I have developed a wide array of punishments due to the antics of some members of Team Shibue. Warning, just because you are Aburame, do not think you are prepared to handle the 10 Year Swarm Infliction, much less the Corrupted Horsefly Branding, the 30,000 Chaos Lice, or, most fearsome, the Silent Shade Surprise." Shibue deliberately ignored the bushes shaking behind her - after her recent string of betrayals, she had taken to deliberately tracking Team Shibue's locations when they were not present during important meetings. 'Perhaps Kenichi and Kaiya, watching from the treeline, would enjoy hearing a more detailed description of the numerous punishments they have undergone or will undergo? No. Reason, that would take too much time, no matter how amusing it is.'
Her listing of threats also allowed Shibue to get a read on her new minions. Blue was clearly rattled, as was right and proper. Red upheld a more traditional Aburame demeanor, but a glint of determination reflected off her stylish red lenses. Green, however, was the most Aburame of all - he only showed stoic silence. Shibue was impressed - not many would hold up so well.
"Now, to begin with, there are numerous training routines you can and will undertake with your spiders to increase their strength. In many ways, it is similar to training any of your other insects, but there are differences. Example, you will have to spend more direct time working on techniques and tricks with your spider friend. I have already detailed in my own notes and journals many of these, and I will make them accessible to you. Another example, you will have to feed a dramatically larger amount of chakra to it, as often as possible. Further clarification, the quality of the chakra also matters."
"Query: The quality? Where does one get the best quality chakra from?" Green finally spoke up, as emotionless as to be expected.
There was only one accurate answer to this, and Shibue was proud that she could say it so honestly, even if Blue and Red would not be as properly jealous as they should be. "The highest quality of chakra I have regularly obtained was from Karasu Hatake." What she was not expecting is the reaction she received.
"Hatake?" Green's stoic demeanor had immediately fallen away. Well, as much as any Aburame's stoic demeanor left. His cheeks were blushing red, though, he started to tap two of his fingers together before he caught himself doing it, and his swarm... 'Is that a heart floating above his head?' The moment was quickly dispelled by Spider-Green poking his master with his tiny katana - 'soooo cuuuuute', which brought him back to his senses, though a faint blush remained.
Shibue looked questioningly at Red and Blue. Blue quietly giggled to herself, hiding behind her collar the same way Shibue's Mother did. Red, however, facepalmed. 'This must be a common occurrence. However, it is one I understand.'
"Yes. I assume this means you are familiar with Agent Shiroko. Good. She is not a minion, she is an independent operator. Our missions often cross paths with similar purpose, and thus she is a reliable ally. Clarification: she will not be one up against the wall when the revolution comes." At that, Green visibly resolved himself, firming up his stance, and clenching his fists. It was almost as if he was a completely different Aburame for an instant, before he relaxed back into his normal stoic mien.
"Seiji, you know that means you will have to actually speak to her." Seeing the vicious hit rattle Green, Shibue decided that Red had what it took to be team leader.
"Regardless, yes, she or her immediately family would likely have the most potent chakra your spider could reasonably acquire. Clarification - non-Aburame do not take it well when you take their chakra without permission, but I've come to understand that this is apparently even more so when it involves spiders. You must ask for permission, so therefore you must ask Agent Shiroko. This will require you talking to her. If you want what is best for Spider-Green" "Correction, his name is Decapitator" "... You are now my favorite minion. If you want what is best for Decapitator, you will have to steel your resolve and, as they say, man up." Shibue tried not to feel too smug after Green saluted her.
"Now, onto your actual mission. All three of you are on different genin teams. As you know, every genin team is required to have at least one member with medic training. You will all volunteer and begin this training as soon as you get back. Then..."
Even as Shibue laid out her plan to her new lackeys, Shibue decided it was acceptable for her to feel exceedingly smug at the moment. 'Operation: Silver Hive will succeed, and Operation: Ducklings will aide it'.

~With Kenichi and Kaiya, in the bushes~
"So, I had always thought it was just a Shibue thing, but it looks like maybe this is just an Aburame thing in general." Kaiya pondered what she had just watched. "I mean, sure, the 10 years Swarm thing is real, but she just made up the other punishments, didn't she? And they're taking her so seriously! They didn't even argue at all about becoming minions! I can't tell if this is terrifying or adorable."
Kenichi stared into the distance, a haunted look in his eyes. "No, no, they're real. The lice... the Branding..." Kaiya could hear the capital letter there, and looked at him pityingly, even as he rubbed his ass with memories of phantom pain, and patted him on the shoulder in solidarity.
"But they all acted like this was completely normal! I feel like I understand Shibue a little better, if that's the case."
"Maybe... but I'd really like it if she toned it down, just a tad. Just the punishments, at least?"
"Well, maybe you should stop screwing around then! I only get "punished" when she catches me 'betraying' her, you get punished when you 'embarrass Team Shibue'. If you stopped acting like an ass around every pretty woman you see, maybe you'd have an easier time. I mean, you're acting normal now, right?"
"Well, as you said, I only show off around pretty women." And, showing more intelligence than usual, Kenichi promptly ran off after saying that, forcing Kaiya to have to chase him down before repaying him for his insult.

Dear Sachi,
Life at the hospital is going well! I've been getting a lot of training on the side from your Aunt - she's been bringing her genin team around the hospital more often recently. Normally this causes trouble, what with Shiroko and Kuroko and their antics, but they've been oddly well behaved around me lately. Suspiciously so, in fact. I think they're setting up a prank on me, but I can't tell what. I even started planning some pranks to get them back, just in case, but the fake skeleton I found might be too scary to use on them. I've caught her following after me wearing that cute little fake mustache of hers a few times, but its so adorable I can't bring myself to let her know!
I've been getting a lot of encouragement lately, though! A bunch of new genin have come through for their team training at the hospital, for, you know, the team medic requirement, and for some reason a bunch of cute little Aburame kids all asked if they could shadow me! It's adorable! They keep their bugs really well contained most of the time. The spiders get to be a bit much, though. I think one of them has a crush on Shiroko, too! It's so cute, though she hasn't noticed at all. I've had a whole bunch of genin with me of late, though its mostly just those kids and Tsunade-sama's team. I've gotten the three Aburame kids to all call me sempai, its all I can do not to hug them whenever they say it! I am kind of embarrassed, though... They told me their names the first time I met them, but I forgot, as they each have this one brightly colored thing about them, and I just started thinking of them like that, and then it got too awkward for me to ask them their names later! Luckily, I can just call them all 'Trainee' or 'genin' Aburame and get away with it, but I'm waiting for someone else to arrive so I can get them to introduce themselves.
They've been very encouraging to me lately, which has been nice, with you and everyone else gone to the war front. I don't actually know what they're encouraging me to do, though. Blue and Red, the two girls, just keep on reassuring me that "I can do it", and "I should go for it", whatever that is. Green nods along, when he's not covertly staring at Shiroko ; ). He thinks he's subtle, and she probably hasn't noticed yet, but when she does, I'm not sure what she'll do!
Blue is my favorite, though! She's really taken to Pumba, too - I don't think Pumba needs to actually walk around the hospital anymore, she's always carrying her for me. I think she likes Blue because Blue's hair meets her approval - I don't know if she dyes it, or if its natural, but its a bright electric blue. She's the one who trains the most with me, and I'm just so proud of her progress, even if she sometimes scares the patients with that spider of hers. She's helping me plan out my welcome back party for all of you - it was her idea, even! Red and Green are helpful too, but me and Blue just seem to really click, you know?
Anyway, keep in touch! I want to hear everything about whats going on the war front! Keep me in mind!
Love from your bestie,
Shizune
