Chapter Two:
Kaze had her supplies packed up and was flying through the sky. She had brought maps, food, bedding materials, and some money with her.
Kaze looked at her map of the world. She decided that Republic City would be the best place to search first. Kaze had been to Republic City a few times, but it was mostly to visit the temple island, and she had never seen the metropolis. Still, the temple island probably was a good place to start her search.
After an hour, Kaze came up temple island. She landed her bison, near the stalls, and climbed off. "Oh hi Kaze." said one of the acolytes. "What brings you hear?"
"I'm searching for the Avatar." she replied.
"That's a very important duty." said the acolyte. "I wish you the best of luck."
"Do you think you can show me the city?" Kaze asked.
"I would like to." he replied. "but I don't know much of the city myself."
"Alright, I'll go myself."
Kaze climbed back onto her bison and flew towards the city. She flew past the Pro-Bending Arena. It was quite an impressive structure. Maybe she could start a team, when she found the Avatar.
Kaze landed her bison, grabbed her supplies and began to walk down the street. When she turned down an alley, she saw three men. One was tall and skinny, one was short and squat, and the other was big and muscular. The men looked at her with smiles, Kaze smiled back. Then they pulled out knives. "Who are you?!" the big man asked.
"I'm Kaze, and I shouldn't talk to strangers."
"We don't want to talk." the skinny man said. "We just want your money."
"You don't seem very nice." Kaze remarked.
The men laughed. "We are very nice indeed." the fat man said as they closed in.
"You don't seem very smart either."
The men looked at each other in confusion. "What are you talking about?" asked the big man."
Kaze pointed to her forehead. "Do you know what this is.'
"It's a funny tattoo." said the skinny man.
Kaze bent her elbows in front on her and swung them out. A massive gust of wind shot out knocking the men flying back. She then made an air scooter and flew down the street towards her bison.
Kaze continued to search the city, but they rest of the search was uneventful and produced no results. Kaze bade her farewells to the Air Nomads of the Temple Island, and headed off to search elsewhere.
After a few days of travel, Kaze came across the city of Ba Sing Se. It was a massive city with enormous walls. The walls would keep people out until they were admitted in. Unfortunately they did nothing to stop flyers like Kaze.
She flew over the first wall and came across a vast field of crops. This was the place where food was grown. After flying over the fields Kaze came across a zoo. It was a wall, with several enclosure for the animals. She flew down to the entrance and paid the fare.
Inside there were many interesting animals like hog monkeys, rabaroos, turtle seals, and armadillo lions. "Wow this is amazing." Kaze remarked.
"It's quite impressive." a visitor said. "You know this place has quite a lot of history with the Avatars. Aang was the one who built it, and Korra expanded on it."
"Speaking of the Avatar." Kaze asked. "Do you know where he is now."
The visitor laughed "No, I can't say I know where the Avatar is." he said. "I heard rumors he in the south coast of the Earthing Kingdom, but I have no idea how true they are."
"Well thanks." Kaze replied.
Kaze searched through the other rings of the city. At the upper ring she stopped at a Tea Shop. It was the Jasmine Dragon. Kaze was not that much of a tea lover, but decided to stop in because of its history with the Avatar. She walked in and was sat down at a table. "Welcome to the Jasmine Dragon." said the server. "What would you like young lady."
"This is my first time here so I would like to see the menu."
Kaze looked through the menu. She wasn't quite sure what to order, because she didn't know tea very much. Eventually something stood out to her. She waited for the server to come back. "I would like the Bubble Tea." she said.
"Coming right up." said the server.
In a few minutes the tea was brewed and served. She took a sip of it. "Quite good." she remarked.
The server laughed. "You know the first people who drank that spit it out."
"Really."
"And here's the best part. It was Fire Lord Zuko and Avatar Aang."
"Really?!"
"Yup."
"Speaking of the Avatar." said Kaze. "I am looking for him. I heard that he might be south of here. Have you heard anything."
"Yeah." replied the server. "I heard that too. Somewhere in a small town in the South Earth Kingdom. I don't remember its name. I believe people came to watch him bend."
"Thanks"
After finishing her tea, Kaze did some more searching in the city, but she did not find anything worth noting. She soon took off to look elsewhere.
Kaze flew over the city, and past the Serpent's Pass. After that there was nothing but miles and miles of desert. She had heard that Aang did not have his Sky Bison while going through the Si Wong Desert, and she couldn't imagine how hard that would be.
Kaze had also heard that the great library used to be in this desert, but it had been pulled down to the spirit world, ever since Aang's visit.
After days of exhaustive flying, Kaze finally came across the city of Omashu. It was a large mountaintop city consisting of large pyramid like structures. This probably wasn't where she could find the Avatar, but she might be able to find information here.
Kaze walked down the narrow path, in through the gate, and into the city. When she got a closer look at the city she could see that the pyramids were covered with houses and other structures. The pyramids also had ramps where small small carts traveled down.
"So the city still uses those as its delivery system?" Kaze asked.
"Don't fix it if it ain't broke." someone replied.
Kaze walked up to the top of one of the pyramids. If the Avatar would play on the mail delivery system why wouldn't she. When an empty cart came up onto the top, Kaze leapt aboard it.
The cart speed down the pyramid at incredible speed. She airbended to slow down the wind, but she kept it at a good pace to keep things interesting. Kaze watched in amazement as the city flew by. Soon the excitement was over, but Kaze was still shaken.
Kaze wanted to try it again, but she knew she had a job to do. She still had to find the Avatar. Where could she find information to his whereabouts.
A pair of guards looked at her and grumbled. "Oh no, not another Bumi wannabe." one of them said.
"They would probably be a law against that, if he didn't do it." the other one remarked.
One of them walked up to her "What are you doing here."
"There's not a law against doing this." Kaze said. "You said it yourself."
"Yeah but we are still wondering who you are?"
"Oh, I'm a Air Nomad from the Western Temple. I'm looking for the Avatar. I heard he's in a village somewhere in the south."
One of the guard laughed. "Yeah it was the place where the Bei Fongs used to live, one of them still does." It is called...'
"...Gaoling." the other guard interrupted.
"Yeah that's it."
