Chapter Eleven:
Kuma sat on her desk, exhausted from all the work. How could she catch criminals when the government was falling apart. The President was killed, and no one wanted to stand up to Arashi now. She needed to bring him and his assassin Tsume to justice, but it wouldn't be easy at all.
Kuma heard a knock on her door. "Coming" she said and she got up and walked over to the door. She opened it and saw it was Katashi and three other officers. "Have you found any leads on the murder of the President?" she asked them.
"That's what we came in here to talk about." said Katashi.
"To get the obvious out of the way, we know it was Tsume of the Iron Assassins." added Michio."
"And we found tire tracks leading from the scene." added another.
"The problem is." said Katashi. "Is that we found they went in different directions. Obviously they split up, but they might have converged and we don't know where."
"Plus we found this." Yuval said holding up a bag with melted rubber. "A burned up tire. They obviously changed them."
"Where could he be now?" Kuma asked.
"Closer than you think." Kyoko.
Suddenly the three officer's cables shot out and wrapped around Kuma. A figure burst through the wall. It was Tsume. "What is going on?!" Katashi shouted.
Tsume walked towards Kuma and extended nails out of his fingers. Kuma grabbed on to the cables and weakened them. She then yanked on them ripping herself free, and drew her katana. "Sorry if I'm disappointing you, but Kuma Beifong doesn't die so easily."
Tsume smirked "Not all all." he replied.
Tsume lunged, and Kuma swung at him. Kuma's sword slammed against his hands with a metallic clang. The metalbending cops tried to tie up Kuma, but Katashi restrained them.
A few cables tied around Kuma, but she tore free and dodged a blow from Tsume. She went back on the offensive taking two swings at his head, which he ducked. Kuma stabbed at Tsume, but he grabbed her blade.
Kuma yanked at her sword, but Tsume's grip was too strong. Each time she yanked, he would cling on harder. Kuma briefly relaxed, the squeezed it as hard as she could. The blade cracked in half and the tip tumbled up into the air. Kuma dodged a swipe, timed in her head, and stabbed up into the air. The half of the sword fused together and she swung downward at Tsume.
Suddenly a cable wrapped around Kuma's sword. Kuma dodged an attack from Tsume, and yanked on her sword to free it. She weakened the cable and tore her sword through it. Katashi grabbed the cables of the dirty cops with his own, and Kuma slashed them apart with her sword. Together they threw the cables at Tsume and wrapped him up. He furiously struggled to break free. "That won't hold him for long." Kuma said. "Run."
Kuma and Katashi dashed down the hall until they reached the exterior slammed their hands against it and burst a big hole through it. They threw the cables at the buildings across the street and jumped down to the ground.
The cables slowed their fall and when they hit the ground they earthbent it too cushion their landing. Kuma turned around and bricked up the hole to cover their escape.
'I can't believe it." Kuma growled. "In all my career as police chief I have never had anything like this happen to me. What are we going to do now."
"I know a place." Katashi replied.
Tsume struggled against his restraints. He watched as the officers chased Kuma and Katashi down the hall, but they escaped through the wall first. Tsume soon broke free and quickly went down the hall. Their the officers stood dumbly. Tsume stabbed Michio in the head. Kyoko and Yuval jumped back in shock and terror. "Why did you do that?!" Yuval cried.
Tsume just glared at the officer. "Find them." he hissed.
I was in the new equalists building when the door opened up. In stepped Kuma and her aid Katashi. Akio jumped in in shock. "It's been so long." he exclaimed. "How have you been."
Takumi and Kuma looked at them in confusion. "Do you know him?" Kuma asked.
"He's my brother." Katashi replied.
"Man you haven't shown up for a long time." said Akio. "What bring you here now?"
"We need your help." Kuma stated firmly. "I know you guys were never planning a revolution, but now we need one."
"What's going on?" Takumi asked. "I know the President was killed but..."
"...Not just that." said Kuma. "I was nearly murdered by Tsume and my own fellow officers. The government was gotten deeply corrupt."
"What?!" Katashi exclaimed. "Your own officers tried to murder you?!"
"Yes I know." said Katashi. "It's crazy we need to do something."
"Well first of all, we need to relocate." said Takumi. "Take all of our equipment and take it somewhere hidden, so we can continue training."
Arashi strolled into the Presidents office, flanked by gangsters and Order of the White Lotus members. With the President dead and the Police Chief thrown out of power and replaced by one of his minions, he was in charge of the city. That was a good start, but he needed to unite all of the bender in the world.
Of course, first things first. There were plenty of laws to pressure the Senate into passing. He could blow some dust of Tarrlok's old idea of non-bender curfew laws. Maybe he could make them pay extra taxes, and force them to allow benders to take over their homes.
His best idea however was a perfect way to demonstrate bender superiority. In between matches, the arena could be used to deliver beating to non benders who break his laws. That way non benders could see that they are unable to fight back.
Most importantly he had to do something about those annoying New Equalists. He had sent a squad of metalbending officers to handle it. They should be arriving at the location soon.
The metalbending cops showed up at the location Arashi told them to go. It looked just like he said it would, but no one was there. "Are you sure this is the place?" one of the asked.
"Sure I'm sure." replied another.
The officers kicked down the door and stepped in, and found it empty. Not only was no one inside, but the everything had been removed too. They all listened carefully, but not a sound was heard.
The search continued, as the officers searched every nick and cranny, but found nothing. "What happened?" an officer asked.
"They must have packed up and left." another replied.
"Are you sure we have everything." said Takumi.
"Yes" Akio replied. "I triple checked."
All of the New Equalist equipment was stuffed into a van and was being shipped to a discreet location to set up at. I had helped load it up and now was hidden in the back. The van took a turn, and I lifted up my hands to prevent a training dummy from falling down on me. I shoved it between a pair of floor matts. "Don't worry too much about those." said Genji. "The mirrors are what we are really concerned with."
After a while we drove into a warehouse. The door swung open, and we grabbed equipment and stepped out. We folder out the matts and drilled the mirrors into the walls. Once everything was set up we looked around. "Looks good." said Akio.
"Yeah." agreed Takumi. "We'll be able to ship out again if anyone finds us.
