Chapter Thirty-Three:
Yuzin and Naoki watched as Republic City approached fast. "We are almost ready for drop." said the pilot.
Yuzin glanced over at Naoki "You ready?"
Naoki let out a deep sigh "Ready as I'll ever be."
As they passed over Republic City the door on the back of there plane opened up. Yuzin stood up. "Let's go."
He and Naoki walked towards the back. Yuzin leapt out of the plane and felt the air rush up at him. The ground quickly approached, so Yuzin pushed out his feet and let out a blast of flame. Yuzin's descent slowed down as he continued to push the fire downwards.
Yuzin looked and saw Naoki spiraling downwards, controlling his descent with airbending. He looked downwards and saw the ground coming. He spread out his feet to brace for the impact. His feet slammed into the ground, and he pushed fire out of his hands to prevent himself from falling onto his face.
Naoki landed beside him, and there troops followed shortly. Yuzin glanced around him to make sure everyone was present. "Move out and stay sharp."
After moving down the street Yuzin and his troops ran into a large group of Triad gangsters and White Lotus soldiers. Yuzin furiously threw fireblasts at them, and they replied back with various elements.
Yuzin and his group tanked the blasts sent at them, and then spread out. Yuzin boosted himself up into the air, bounced of an awning, and then boasted himself again up onto the roof. He punched a few blast at the enemy forces and ran when return fire came towards him.
He jumped over and alley, and onto the next roof. There he fired some more blasts towards the enemy. A man leapt up onto the roof with Yuzin, who recognized the man as the Triple Threat Leader Hibiki. He ducked and leapt when Hibiki sent airslashes at him.
Yuzin launches fireblasts at Hibiki, who batted them away. Yuzin then ducked down and kicked another blast at him. Hibiki formed a scooter and rushed at Yuzin. Yuzin leapt to the side to avoid him, then punched more blasts at him.
Hibiki turned and blocked them, he then pulled back to charge at Yuzin, but Yuzin sent more fireblasts. Hibiki shuddered as he struggle to block them. Yuzin advanced forwards keeping the pressure on him.
Hibiki glanced behind him, then jumped down from the roof, with the scooter cushioning his fall. Yuzin followed him, breaking his fall with a fireblast. He looked for Hibiki, but could not spot him in the midst of the brawl.
Yuzin decided to ignore him and instead support his troops. Up ahead, Naoki was clashing with a group of bending gangsters. He lept over a lash of a whip, then dodged fireblasts, and returned fire with powerful gusts.
While the gangsters were reeling back, Yuzin assaulted them with fireblasts. The waterbending gangster was sent to the ground, and the firebending gangster blocked just in time. The two briefly exchanged shots, but a gust from Naoki sent him flying.
Yuzin lifted his hand and pointed. "There" he shouted. "It's Hibiki."
Naoki leapt up and swirled a large scooter beneath himself, he motioned to Yuzin. "Climb on."
Yuzin jumped onto the scooter behind Naoki, and the two charged through the crowd. Yuzin let out a blast of fire too push aside any enemies. When they reached Hibiki, they saw he had the same idea. He and Red Monsoon leader Jiang where on a scooter of there own.
The duos clashed into eachother with there elements bursting into steam. Jiang recovered his whips, and slash at Yuzin and Naoki. Naoki swerved and steered to keep away from them, but Hibiki kept himself on them.
Yuzin punched out a series of fireblasts to keep Jiang's whips busy. With the pressure on, Jiang went on the defense, batting away the blasts. Yuzin leaned back and took a deep breath. "Duck" he said.
Naoki ducked down and Yuzin leaned forward letting out a sheet of fire. Naoki charged towards Hibiki who quickly backed off. Naoki kept pushing forwards, but then Jiang froze his water whips and sent shards at Yuzin and Naoki.
Yuzin melted the shards midair, but Jiang kept sending them. Even with Yuzin firing back, Jiang continued to attack, sending relentless salvos towards Yuzin and Naoki. "Jump off" Naoki declared.
Yuzin hopped off the air scooter and Naoki dissipated it. Naoki then let out large gusts knocking away the incoming shards. Yuzin pushed harder, assaulting Hibiki and Jiang with fireblasts.
Jiang continued to block the blasts, but then suddenly fell of the scooter. He slammed into the ground and glanced back to see Hibiki speed off. "Coward!" he shouted.
Jiang looked around himself and saw the Triple Threat gangsters follow suit. His Red Monsoon gangsters fought furiously against the Fire Nation and Air Nomad forces but they were outnumbered. He looked back to Yuzin and Naoki, now surrounded by allies.
Jiang took a deep breath and lunged back at them. He slashed his whips and fired shards with all the strength he could muster, but his attacks were being intercepted. The volleys of blasts and gusts overwhelmed him, no matter how hard he fought.
Suddenly something hit Jiang's wrist. A cable coiled it's way around his arm and he was dragged to the ground. He lifted his other arm, but it was restrained quickly. He watched as his men were tied up.
Yuzin and Naoki saw a group of Metalbending officers join them. They made quick work mopping up the remaining gangsters, who were already struggling under the assault. Soon everyone in the area was restrained.
The leader of the officers approached Yuzin and Naoki. "I'm Katashi." he said.
Yuzin and Naoki introduced themselves. "Thanks for the help." Yuzin said.
"Oh I should be thanking you." Katashi replied. "Didn't expect you to show up personally."
"There's still more work to be done." Naoki said.
Yuzin and Katashi glanced over to him and nodded. The three lead there troops through the city, searching for White Lotus soldiers and Triad gangsters. Pretty soon they caught up to a group of Triple Threat gangsters.
The gangsters opened up with bending blasts, but where outnumbered. Yuzin fired furiously at a duo crouched behind a stone wall. The wall crumbled and the two were restrained. Naoki pushed large gusts disrupting attacks from attacking gang forces
As the combined forces fought there way through gang territory, the gang members began to scatter. A metalbending officer chased one down an alley. He saw the gangster standing strangely still. "Put your hands up." the officer demanded.
The gangster did not comply, the officer wrapped his cables around him. He pulled at the gangster fell right over. Standing behind the gangster was Tsume, and his nails blood on them.
The officer's cables suddenly wrapped around his neck. Before he could cut himself loose, he was pulled to the ground. Tsume strolled over to the officer and observed his plight. It was quite interesting to him to see the officer struggle. He could prolong his fate.
But alas, Tsume had more work to be done. He leaned over and stabbed the officer through the head. He stepped out of the alley and watched as everyone reacted in shock. He then glanced around to see more of his assassins on the rooftops, accompanied by Visola's troops.
