Chapter Thirty-Four:

I pushed a gust of wind downwards, propelling myself into the air. I braced my knees as I landed on the rooftop. Visola gazed up at me, then quickly scaled up the wall. I ran backwards, feeling for the edge of the building.

When I got there I leapt over the alley and onto the next building. Visola walked across the roof I was standing on before. I hurled fireblasts, but she batted them down. When she got to the edge she reached across the gap with her waterwhips and launched herself across.

I quickly jumped to another building, taking off before Visola landed. "This is quite a fun game." she said. "I can't wait till you lose."

Witty banter was not what I had in mind, so I threw more fireblasts which were knocked away. I crumbled the roof under Visola's feet, but she moved to quickly to trap. I kept retreating, moving off the roof before she got on it. Visola kept up with me eager to get her hands on me. I sent her a blast, not expecting to hit her, but hoping to stall her.

I backed off to the edge of the roof and jumped again. As I jumped my legs went upward and my head swung towards the ground. I pushed a blast of air downwards to break my fall. I tumbled into a heap in the alleyway.

I heard hurried footsteps and got up quickly. An Iron Assassin followed by a couple of Water Tribe soldiers came at me. I quickly pulled up a wall and sprinted away. I turned around and saw the wall shudder. It then exploded revealing the assassin behind.

I hurled fireblasts at him, filling up the alleyway. The assassin lifted up chunks of rubble to block them, and the soldiers threw watershots at me. I ducked and weaved the attacks, and kept up the offensive.

After having more fireblast blocked, I switched tactics. I hurled water and stone from the scattered puddles and rubble. Despite this I was unable to penetrate there defense, and found myself backing up continuously. I stepped out of the alley and into the street, where all three factions clashed furiously.

I ducked a water whip and then blocked some pieces of rock. I fired back at them with air and fireblasts. A couple of officers assisted, grabbing at them with there cables. After I stunned the enemies with more attacks, the officers restrained them.

A soldier launched a fireblast at me. The officers and I tried to hit him with waterwhips and cables but he dodged them and continued firing. As he came closer his face seemed familiar. "Yao!" I shouted.

"Nice to see you Avatar." he said with a wicked smirk. "Didn't think you were coming back."

"Oh I couldn't wait to come back here just for you, you traitor."

Yao chuckled, then punched some blasts towards me. I caught them and bent them past me. He swung and kicked a large blast that I ducked under. Using the motion slammed my hands into the road and sent a rock crawler towards him.

Yao jumped and stepped quickly to keep himself stable. I aggressively flung airblasts, interrupting his attempts. I closed in on Yao and pulled back for a massive airblast. Suddenly I heard something behind me.

I turned around and dodged a fireblast. I threw the airblast I prepared at him instead. I then dodged chunks of rock and waterwhips. Out of nonewhere I saw a bright flash and felt a powerful shock. I turned around and saw Yao with sparks on his fingers. I felt limp and fell to the ground.

In the middle of a chaotic brawl, Kinto saw a bright lighting flash. He looked and saw Arata on the ground. Kinto moved towards him, blocking and dodging various stray shots. He saw Kaze among the combatants. She smoothly dodged various attacks and countered with airblasts.

When Kaze came close to him Kinto shouted to her. "The Avatar is down!" he said. "Get to him quickly."

Kaze jumped over to Kinto. "What happened?"

"Hit by lighting."

Kinto continued towards Arata, while Kaze circled around him, blocking element blasts. A man stood over Arata with a large rock. Kinto froze up his hands and made him drop the rock on his own head.

Kinto sent water blast and whips and the various enemies in front of him to clear the path. He and Kaze got closer to Arata, but the resistance got tougher. Eventually they got to the Avatar.

Kinto stared towards Yao. "Worry about the Avatar." a resistance fighter yelled out. "I got this guy."

Kinto ducked down. "Kaze, you know CPR?" he asked.

Kaze nodded and opened up Arata's mouth. Kinto put his hands above his torso and felt for blood. He reached down the vessels into the heart. He gave a few squeezes and Kaze pushed some air into Arata's mouth.

Some officers and resistance fighter saw what was going on and surrounded the trio. Kinto continued pumping and Kaze gave him a breath. "How's the pulse."

"Feels good." she said. "Keep working."

An aid rushed over to Arashi. "The streets are in Chaos!" he declared. "Visola and Yuzin's forces are overrunning us. They are everywhere, even..."

The aid fell over dead revealing nails in his head. An Iron Assassin stood at the end of the hall. "Visola awaits." he said.

Arashi yanked the water out of a pipe. "If you, Visola, or anyone thinks I will give up my city and my life that easily, you are dead wrong."

The assassin sprayed nails and Arashi caught them with the water and froze it. He threw chunks of ice at the assassin. The assassin lifted his hands to stop the nails, but a spray of ice pelted him. He charged at Arashi, pulling up chunks of rock of the floor.

Arashi pulled water out of the leaking pipes and formed whips. He swung one at the assassin who blocked it with a thick rock gauntlet. Arashi tried to drag the assassin towards him, but the assassin dug himself into the ground and Arashi instead flew at him.

Arashi saw the assassin lift his hand with his claws extended, and let go of the water. He fell to the ground and hit the floor. The assassin walked over to him and loomed over him. Arashi threw the water up and into the assassin's face.

He crawled away and got up. The assassin continued towards him, claws still outstretched. Arashi grabbed the water on the floor and froze it into two icicles. He stabbed at the assassin, who dodged out of the way.

The assassin responded with a swipe, which Arashi dodged and then continued to stab at the assassin. The two of them engaged in a lethal ballet, slashing with there deadly sharp weapons. With more reach, Arashi kept stabbing to keep the assassin away.

The assassin backed of and shot nails at Arashi, who melted one of his spears and formed a shield. The assassin kept firing, and the nails cracked Arashi shield. Each impact made more jagged fractures, Arashi could fix those, but that was not the priority.

He instead heated the water in the other spear. He felt the pressure building, it was about to blow. Even as pieces came of the shield, he still focused on the spear. When the shield broke, Arashi fell to his knees. The assassin walked towards him to claim his kill.

Arashi pointed the spear at the assassin and released the pressure. The tip of the spear flew rapidly at him. Before the assassin could react, it was stuck in his gut. He felt up the spear and then collapsed.
