Sweet freedom! Wally thought as he carefully walked out of the hospital. It was a nice day and John was waiting for him outside.

"You ready?" John asked.

"Yeah, let's do this," Wally answered.

Wally no longer felt trapped in his relationship with Madison. If anything, he felt relieved. Relieved that he wasn't alone anymore. Turns out there are some things being stuck at the hospital were good for.

"Can we get some food first?" Wally asked hopefully. It had been a while since he'd had anything since hospital food and just as long since he had his speed.

John shrugged.

"There's this really great diner that I haven't been to in forever..." Wally and John chatted on their way to the diner.

After a meal of burgers and fries, Wally was finally on his way home. Where Madison would be waiting. He almost shuddered at the thought. Almost. But he wasn't afraid of her anymore.

They came to the door of Wally's apartment building. Wally took a deep breath and started up the stairs. As expected, Madison was waiting at the door.

"Wally, who is this?" She demanded.

"This is my friend, John," Wally answered simply. "Madison, I don't think this is working out." He looked at John for support. John nodded. "Please get your stuff and leave."

"You're dumping me? You can't do that! You'll never find anyone else! Never! So you have to stay with me. Without me, you're worthless," Madison sneered. "Besides, if you dump me, I'll tell everyone that you raped me."

"And I'll show everyone this," John said as he pulled out a voice recorder. "Everyone will hear what you just told Wally. Do you want that?"

"You can do whatever you want. Wally can't dump me," Madison said loudly.

"Madison, it's over. I don't want to date you. I'm tired of walking on pins and needles. I want my life back! Get your stuff and go home!"

A surprised Madison took a step back, then steadied herself. "Fine," she said, "But don't come crying to me when you end up with nothing!"

To Wally's utter astonishment, Madison actually got her stuff without breaking anything. As she passed him with all her things, she whispered that he was an idiot for leaving her. But Wally didn't care. Because for the first time in a long time, he truly felt free.

Author's Note: It's not as long as I wanted it to be, but here it is. I might add another chapter as an epilogue someday, but for now, it's done. I hope you enjoyed!
