Father's Day
Rose was curled into her Doctor as they lay comfortable on a sofa in the library, her head was resting on his chest, she wanted to be there for her dad when he died, but she didn't want the Doctor to think she was like Adam again, it had killed her to watch him die just so she didn't have to lose her dad, even after everything, he had still tried to spare her. She nuzzled into his chest, his arm tightened around her in response, pulling her closer to him.
"Doctor?" She started hesitantly, he hummed at her, looking down at her curiously as she played with the bottom of his jumper, "I was thinking, could we go and see my dead when he was still alive?" She smiled sadly, "Mum always said he was going off on adventures, that he would've loved to see me now."
"Where's this come from, all of a sudden?" The Doctor sounded concerned as he squeezed her waist gently.
She shifted slightly as she reassured him, "It's alright if we can't, I was just wondering."
"Nah," He pulled her up with him, grinning at her, "I can do anything, I'm just more worried about you."
"I wanna see him."
The Doctor smiled, though she could see the concern in his eyes, "Your wish is my command. But be careful what you wish for."

They were sat in the back of the church as they watched her mum and dad get married, Rose couldn't keep the grin off her face.
"I, Peter Alan Tyler, take you, Jaqueline Angela… Suzette Prentiss…" Rose giggled into the Doctor's arm as her dad repeated the words, flustered, "I, Peter Alan Tyler, take you, Jaqueline Suzanne… Suzette… Anita…" Pete looked to the registrar for help.
Jackie narrowed her eyes at him, sighing, "Oh, just carry on. It's good enough for Lady Di."
The Doctor huffed out a laugh and Rose tried to hold back more giggles as they watched the rest of the ceremony.

Rose looked at the Doctor when they were back in the Tardis, mustering up her courage, "My dad, he died alone, my mum… she always used to say she wished somebody had been there for him," She stared into his eyes, "I wanna be that someone. So, he doesn't die alone."
The Doctor's brow furrowed, "November the 7th?"
"1987."
They stepped out of the Tardis, her hand tightly grasped in his, "It's so weird, the day my dad dies and it's just… an ordinary day."
"The past is another country. 1987's just the Isle of Wight." He smiled grimly, looking down at Rose, "Are you sure about this?"
"No." Rose answered honestly, sure she was crushing his hand in hers though he didn't complain, "But I need to be there for him, this is it. Jordan Road. He was late. He'd been to get a wedding present – a vase. Mum always said that stupid vase."
Rose's voice trembled as a car rounded the corner, "He got out of his car…" The car pulled over, "… and crossed the road. Oh, God." Pete stepped out of the car, picking up the vase from the passenger's seat as another car rounded the corner, heading straight for him, "This is it." She tugged at the Doctor's hand, "I won't be able to stop myself."
The Doctor wrapped his other arm tightly around her, pulling her to his chest as she kept the death grip on his hand. She let out a strangled noise as her dad noticed the car, the vase smashing to the ground as it hit him, and then there he was, Pete Tyler, her dad just lay there twitching on the ground.
Rose rushed forward, falling to the ground beside him, her cheeks wet with tears as she took her dad's hand gently. She said nothing as Pete Tyler looked up at her, taking his few final breaths. Quiet sobs racked her body as finally the light went out of his eyes and he stared back at her blankly, she leaned down and pressed a soft kiss to his head, closing his eyes.
The driver of the car was just a kid, he'd had no choice but to stop as Rose and the Doctor had run forward, witnessing Pete Tyler's death. He frantically called an ambulance as Rose held her dad's hand.
The Doctor crouched down beside her as she cried quietly, pulling her towards him, his hearts broke as he felt her tears soak through his jumper as she sobbed into his chest. He pulled her to her feet as the ambulance arrived and led her back to the Tardis.

They lay together on her bed after they'd watched her dad die. The Doctor had apologised saying he should never have taken her, but she had smiled at him, her eyes red and puffy and had said she needed it. Her dad needed it, needed someone with him so he wasn't alone when he died. She cuddled into him, needing to feel him close to her.
Rose sniffled as her tears finally subsided, "I think I've ruined your jumper."
He huffed out a laugh, playing with her hair as she shifted next to him, his hand dropped as she sat up, gazing down at him, "Thank you, Doctor." He stared at her intently, "I mean, I-" She let out a breath, "This means everything to me, Doctor."
He examined her face closely for a moment before his expression softened, "Anytime."
Rose beamed at him, her tongue poking out between her teeth as she lay back down, resting her head back on his chest, her legs tangling with his as he wrapped his arms around her.
