Author's Note: One of my readers named darkchannel30 requested this. So here it is. Set in the Highschool theme, a couple weeks after Chapter 1:Payback.
Sorano came down the stairs of the old house they lived in, she beamed as she saw her younger sister Yukino, who had oatmeal on the table. The scent of the delicious cooked oats set her at ease.
Sorano was wearing a blue sweater with white jeans and blue sneakers. Her hair was down and held back with two blue clips. "Good morning."
Yukino smiled and watched as her sister sat down. "Good morning," she greeted. Yukino and Sorano usually had breakfast together, since their parents would leave so early for work.
Sorano rubbed her eyes, still tired from what happened yesterday. "Those idiots," she mumbled, stirring her oatmeal.
Yukino frowned as she noticed her sister's tiredness. "Is everything okay?" she asked, her tone filled with concern. She watched as her sister snorted, almost making her spit out her food, causing Yukino to laugh.
Sorano chuckled. "My friends were being stupid yesterday, and, apparently they got detention. They're a wild bunch. They kept me up all night trying to see if they could sabotage the Teacher's records to see if they could get through punishment without getting detention."
Yukino laughed, catching Sorano's attention. Sorano never really talked about her friends. All she would say is that they were stupid and wild, but yet warm and caring in their own little way. "They seem like great friends! I would love to meet them!" she exclaimed, a happy smile on her face as she took a bite of her oatmeal.
Sorano blinked. Oh no! She was not meeting them! Forget it! She'd think Erik is a cold jerk! And, she'd think Macbeth is a sleeping freak! Richard might appear really weird to her, and Sawyer might be rude! Sorano forced a smile. "Yukino," she started, her sister smiling at her. Sorano bit her lip. "Why not?" she asked, wincing at what she had just asked.
"Really?!" Yukino beamed at those words. "Oh, I can't wait! How about tonight?!"
Sorano paused. "I don't know.. I think Macbeth has ballet lessons, Erik has karate, Richard has cooking, and Sawyer has track… but, I do ballet with Macbeth, so, I could ask him if he could come after lessons…" Gosh. Their schedules were crowded. Especially Macbeth's and Erik's. They had sports and dance almost every day of the week!
Yukino squealed. "They sound wonderful!" she beamed, her smile was wide. Sorano tried to act all excited, but, at the moment, she was worried. The last thing she'd want was A: for her beloved sister to have a crush on one of them. B: for them to have a crush on her. C: for them to totally make her uncomfortable!
The two sisters chatted about how their friends were (mostly Yukino did). Sorano didn't talk much, the main thing on her mind was how to get the boys to act different around Yukino, like she was a guest. They mostly would just treat visitors like they were nothing, or family. (Family was worse…)
Sorano and Yukino finished their breakfast, putting their dishes in the dishwasher. The two girls smiled as they grabbed their bags and grabbed on their coats. Yukino's smile was still wide as she was babbling on about how she couldn't wait to meet her older sister's friends.
The two girls walked to the bus stop, happily chatting, until Yukino remembered something.
"Sorano, how did they get detention?"
"Well…"
Flashback
Sorano watched from a distance as she saw Erik, who was peeling his mango with his pocket knife. Apparently he was hungry because he didn't eat breakfast, causing his stomach to growl through History.
"Heh, you gonna eat the skin on that like you did the last time?" Sawyer asked, a growing smirk on his face. "It's gonna feel horrible coming out!"
Erik narrowed his eyes and lunged forward, shoving mango down Sawyer's throat. Sawyer let out a confused yelp, causing them to get Macbeth's attention. The dark haired boy groaned. Did they have to mess up one of the little classes he was good at?! The two idiots were getting mango on his essay! The dark haired senior got up, only to be shoved in the face with mango, messing up his new shirt.
"That's it."
Macbeth punched Erik in the face only to be kicked where it hurts by Sawyer. Macbeth let out a pained yelp. Richard, who was sitting right next to them, decided that he would break up the fight. The orange haired boy got up from his seat, pulling everyone into a bone crushing hug. "Don't fight! Fight together with the power of love."
"Mr. Midnight! Mr. Cobra! Mr. Racer!" the Teacher yelled, his face full of wrath. "Detention!"
"Nooooo!"
Flashback Ended
Ballet
Macbeth enjoyed ballet, it was actually the only class he was good at besides history, karate, soccer, figure skating, and hand to hand combat. He didn't mind how Erik and Sawyer would tease him about it being a 'girl' class. Many boys did it. Even Jellal Fernandes! The class president for crying out loud!
Macbeth noticed that Sorano was walking into the class. She appeared to have something on her mind. He really didn't care about how anyone else thought. It was none of his business in the first place.
Sorano stood across from him, all the way on the other side of the room. Sorano, noticed him and started walking over to him. The teacher hadn't showed up yet, so it gave the students time to warm up or talk to one another.
"Macbeth," Sorano started, now standing across from him. "Are you free tonight?"
Macbeth's eyes widened. 'Is she asking me out on a date?! No! I'm not ready! I still need to pass Freshman Biology!'. Macbeth frowned. "Yes. Why?"
"Go to Sawyer's dad's car garage. I need to tell you something."
Macbeth felt like something was up. Did she really have a crush on him this whole time?! "Okay," came the shakey response. Just then, the class started as Sorano went back to her position. Leaving Macbeth who was just standing there, looking confused.
"Oi! Midnight! Stop standing there!" the teacher boomed. Macbeth just nodded.
At the moment, he was so confused.
Erik walked over to his house, his arms folded, trying to keep all the warmth in. It was a freezing thursday evening, and, right now all he wanted to do was race to Sawyer's house. It was heated and it made it quite enjoyable. Then again, going home would be nice, but, he would have to face his crazy younger sister named Erza, who was obsessed with the whole class president voting going around her school that she was desperate to win.
"Erik!"
Erik turned in the direction he heard the voice. He stared as he saw Sorano running over to him, her nose bright red and fingers purple. She must've forgotten her gloves at the school. Or, maybe she didn't bring any at all. "What is it, Sorano?" he asked sharply, shivering as the wind blew.
"Are you free?" she asked, panting.
"Yeah."
"Good! Head to Sawyer's!"
"We're all meeting there. Macbeth won't be there in another 30 minutes, because his classes are long," Erik stated plainly. Didn't she know that they always go to Sawyer's Tuesday-Friday. The reason why they don't go on Mondays is because Macbeth and Sawyer have soccer, Sorano has ballroom dancing, and Erik has basketball. Richard works at a drive thru.
He didn't ask why Sorano looked so enthusiastic at what he said. He didn't really care. It was 2:30 PM, on thursdays they get off school early. Which, made it his favorite.
"Perfect!"
Erik leaned against the wall at Sawyer's dad's car garage. Sorano stood in the middle of the room, impatiently tapping her foot, waiting for the dark haired boy known as Macbeth to show up. Why did he have to take extra classes?!
Macbeth opened the door to the garage, rubbing his ankles, a tired look on his face. He looked at everyone and saw Sorano's displeased face. "Why are you late?" she asked, her tone cold.
"You never told us when we had to get here," Macbeth said, his face bored. "I had to run all the way here, after doing intense ballet exercises. Do you know how painful that was?" he asked with a raised eyebrow. He walked over right where the air conditioning was and grabbed his blanket with smiling yellow stars on it, the dark haired boy curled up in his blanket like a child.
"No."
"Not painful at all!" Macbeth shouted creepily, his hand moving together in a side to side motion, a dark grin on his face as he laid back, the warm air from the heater feeling amazing in the cold garage.
Sorano sighed, mumbling something about Macbeth being weird. She then turned to look at the group. "Alright, I have an announcement to make," she started, her face somewhat excited and worried. "My little sister, Yukino, will be coming to visit at 4:30."
Everyone stopped. "You have a little sister?!" Sawyer asked, more like yelled. He had no idea she had a little sister! She never even talked about her! This didn't make any sense.
Everyone's faces seemed shocked, except for Richard.
"Hopefully she isn't like Sorano," Erik commented, leaning back into the stone wall. He frowned. Why did he feel cold? His direction then turned to Macbeth and Richard. "Move out of the way. You two are blocking the heat!" he scolded, a scowl going on his face.
"It's warm!" came the snippy response from Macbeth.
"Stop snuggling with Richard!" Erik shot back.
"I am not snuggling! I would never!" Macbeth yelled, staying in his spot.
"Oh yeah?"
Sorano wasn't planning on having them change how they acted, up until Erik and Macbeth's bickering.
Sorano's face fired up in anger. "Enough! You will not act like this, in front of my sister! You all need to act like educated, grown men!" she bellowed, nearly blowing everyone over. Sawyer and Richard felt afraid of the angry white haired lady, while Erik was quietly trying to push Macbeth out of his spot. She paused. "Except for Richard!"
Macbeth and Erik, weren't paying attention. "Scoot over," Erik whispered, trying to move Macbeth. The dark haired boy shook his head, only to be pushed really hard by the red headed teen. Erik beamed as he plopped right down, stealing Macbeth's blanket.
Sorano stared at the childish teens, her face unamused. The two boys seemed to be playing somewhat of a tug-a-war. Her direction turned to Sawyer, who was trying to avoid the white haired girl's attention. "You, will act like a dignified man, who is kind, caring, and respects other people's wishes! Am I clear?" Sorano's tone right now has grown dark as she pointed at Richard. "Erik, you will act very warm, affectionate, ooh! And british!"
Richard was drinking Earl Grey tea while watching the whole incident. Erik snorted. No way he was acting british. Sawyer didn't wanna act like a dignified man! He was already all those things she wanted him to be!
Sorano walked over to Macbeth. The dark haired boy didn't pay attention because he was right now, in lala land. "No sleeping, no acting weird, and no snippy comments!" She ordered, shaking her finger at him.
"I don't act weird," Macbeth said blankly, looking up at Sorano. "And, sleeping is my life! What am I supposed to act like?!"
Sorano beamed. "Act like a true gentleman, who is very hardworking and smart person!" Sorano looked at the group, everyone shaking. Richard wasn't afraid. At the moment he was having tea and crumpets. "Am I clear?"
"AS CRYSTAL!"
"Good."
Sorano pulled out her phone, she smiled as she noticed the time. "I'm gonna go pick her up." She then paused. Maybe forcing them to act completely different was a bad idea. "You guys don't have to act different. Just, dial down the craziness, okay?"
Richard smiled. "We will for you, Sorano! Will do it with the power of love!" He grinned. Sorano smiled back, her face full of relief as she walked out the door.
She then came back in. "Macbeth, sorry for being harsh on you. As well as you all," she apologized. Everyone frowned at that. She wasn't harsh. She's like that all the time.
"You weren't being harsh!" Sawyer protested, trying to not make Sorano feel bad. That was the last thing they all wanted. When she felt bad one time for burning Richard's cooking book, they did everything they could to tell her that no one was mad at her.
"Just go get your little sister already, okay?" Erik ordered, getting up and pushing her out the door. "Don't freeze your toes off like Macbeth." He then laughed, causing Sorano to laugh. She did have great friends.
"Okay! Bye!"
"See you later!" Sawyer called out waving.
"Remember, dial down our craziness. This is really important for her," Richard said, his tone serious, causing the three boys' eyes to widen. Wow. He was super serious about this!
"I can dial it down," Macbeth stated blankly. His eyes then slowly closed. "I just have to make sure I stay awake."
"How long will it take Sorano to get here?" Sawyer asked, a frown on his face as he was looking at his phone. "If it takes an hour then we could all make cookies for her sister," he said while googling a recipe on his phone.
"Sorano's house is ten minutes away from here," Erik informed, looking up at the ceiling. "But," he started, a wide smile coming across his face. "I would love some cookies right now."
"We don't have enough time," Macbeth told him, his face buried in his blanket. It was hard for Richard and Sawyer to make out what he said, but Erik could hear him, and that caused him to pout.
"Too bad," the red haired teen groaned, playing with the tiny twigs that were in the garage.
Sorano walked Yukino over to the little hideout they had. It was quite windy, making her rushing to the hideout. "You're gonna love them!" she cheered, a grin on her face. Regardless if Yukino didn't like them, what mattered was if Sorano liked them.
Yukino smiled, her eyes wide. Hopefully they dialed down their craziness just a tad bit. Sorano would hate for them to accidently embarrass themselves, and then make Yukino uncomfortable.
"They sound amazing!" she exclaimed, making Sorano smile. Yukino paused. "What are their names again?" she asked, a small frown on her face. Sorano could see tiny question marks circling around her younger sister's head.
"Erik, Sawyer, Richard, and Macbeth."
"Oh," Yukino said trailing off. "And you and Macbeth are the only girls, right?"
Sorano's eyes widened. Then she laughed. Then she cried out of laughter. "Yukino. Macbeth is a boy!" she yelled out of laughter, her face bright red from all the laughing.
Yukino's face flamed up. "I am so sorry! Please tell him I'm sorry! I didn't mean it!"
"You can tell him yourself!" Sorano cheered, opening the doors to the garage. Yukino blinked as she saw a boy with red hair and tan skin, wearing a black biker jacket with blue jeans and sneakers. Then, she saw a orange haired boy wearing a long sleeve white shirt with khakis. Yukino's face then turned to see a dark haired boy wearing a long black sweater with a brown trench coat along with dark blue pants and boots. He appeared to be curled up in a blanket with smiling yellow stars on them. Yukino saw a guy with a pointy nose, but she couldn't tell his hair color because it was covered with a baseball cap. He was wearing a red striped jacket with white pants and red sneakers.
"These are your friends?!"
"Yup!" Sorano beamed. Her face was bright and her smile was wide. And, her sister seemed happy to meet them. They are amazing, in their own unique way. Even though Macbeth fails in almost every school subject, he is actually cunning and smart. And, Erik may seem cold and distant, but on the inside he is warm and can even be sensitive.
Sawyer, on the outside looks like a total bully, instead he doesn't really care for it that much and tends to pick fights with bullies. And, Richard… looks just like his personality.
Sorano pushed Yukino forward. "Go say hello!" Sorano urged her sister. Yukino gulped, walking forward to the person who was closest to her. Turns out, it was Richard. Her was smile matching the orange haired boy. Richard was sitting next to Macbeth, who had a book open, he seemed intrigued in the book he was reading, so Yukino thought it was best to talk to Richard. "Hi! I'm Yukino! What's your name?"
Richard beamed. "I'm Richard!" he exclaimed happily. He then looked up at her. She was nothing like Sorano. "She's so divine! She's filled with love!" Richard, who was babbling on about love, made Sorano facepalm. But, Yukino didn't mind it. She was giggling.
Before Yukino could ask Macbeth's name, he responded. "I'm Macbeth," he said, looking up at her, an evil grin on his face. That grin soon disappeared. His eyes then widened as he saw the young girl is front of him. 'She's adorable! Nothing like Sorano!'.
"Nice to meet you!" she beamed, her smile warm and comforting. Macbeth smiled back, making Sorano blink in confusion. Yukino felt like these people seemed really warm and comforting. No wonder why Sorano loved them so much!
"I'm Erik, and this is Sawyer."
"Hey! You don't need to tell her my name! I wanted to tell her my name! You-" A brawl broke out between the two boys. Macbeth, who was next to the two boys, were messing up his book. Not to mention, it was a library book. Not his.
Macbeth groaned, walking over to them only to be kicked in the ankles, where it hurt the most for the poor boy.
"Okay! That's it!" he yelled, jumping in on the fight, causing a heap of dust around them. You could hear a bunch of insults, and some extreme swear words getting shot back at each other. If you paid close attention, you could also hear a bunch of 'oofs' and 'ow!'.
Sorano folded her arms, walking over to the two boys. Her face was stone cold and she looked displeased. She quickly dove into the fight, and grabbing them in the process. She grabbed Erik by the ear, Sawyer by the nose, and Macbeth by his wavy hair. "You're ruining this for my little sister!" she hissed in a quiet tone, not wanting to make Yukino hear what they were saying.
"Sorry," Sawyer and Macbeth mumbled.
Erik's eyes drifted over to a poster that was on the wall of the car garage. It said, Buy Tickets Now To Go See Movies! Erik smirked. Seeing a movie would surely make an epic visit. He then perked up. "Let's take her to a movie! I heard there's a horror movie out!"
"I'm in!" Yukino cheered happily, overhearing the conversation. Everyone beamed, minus Sorano and Macbeth. All the dark haired boy wanted to do was sleep. Maybe he could do it in the movie theaters...
They seven were all in line. Macbeth and Yukino were in the back, making him lean into her for sleeping. She tried pushing him off gently, to prevent people from thinking they were a couple, but that didn't work. Thus, making Yukino shrug and just go with it. After all, she didn't mind.
"Uh…" A bunch of question marks were going around Richard's and Sawyer's heads. This was confusing. Senior Citizen? Students? Kids? Wha?
"Well?" the impatient person asked. Sawyer and Richard squinted to see that on the person's name tag was the name Zeref Dragneel. "What are you?"
"Um…. Human?"
"Well obviously!" Zeref groaned. Above all the people he's had to help with, these people by far were the dumbest. He sighed. "If you don't choose, I'm gonna go to the young couple in the back."
"There is no one behind us except… oh," Sawyer mumbled, seeing Macbeth and Yukino, the young white haired girl was smiling, as Macbeth was asleep. "Hey, snugglers!" he called out in a mocking tone, causing Macbeth's eyes to shoot open.
He growled. "Forget it. I'm not standing in line. I'm gonna go over and sitting down!" Macbeth shouted, crossing his arms and walking over to the seats, only to be grabbed by Sorano.
"You're making Yukino uncomfortable," she hissed in a quiet tone. His eyes drifted to Yukino, who was standing in line alone (weren't you supposed?), with an uncomfortable expression on her face.
Macbeth was about to snap at her, before he saw the nerd candies. "I'll stand in line," he said, a wide smile on his face. Yukino beamed.
"You like candies, don't you?" the younger white haired girl asked Macbeth. She was trying to spike up a conversation, yet, she thinks that she is failing miserably.
"Sometimes. It depends if I'm trying to stay awake," he stated blankly.
Yukino nodded. It was getting quite awkward between the two.
Erik folded his arms. "I think we're Senior Citizens," he pointed out (wrong). Surely they were. They are Seniors in highschool, and aren't the citizens of that place they live in?
Zeref blinked in confusion. "What movie?" he asked, rubbing his head, starting to think that he was hearing things.
"The Slenderman."
"Uh… okay… here you go. Theatre 2 on the right."
In the Theatre
Everyone was shaking in their seats as the opening played. Macbeth's nerds went flying everywhere as you could hear a lady scream. "Why'd you request this movie?" Erik snapped in a quiet tone, glaring at Sawyer.
"Not my fault! A friend of mine said it was quote 'to die for'!" Sawyer snapped back, his eyes turning back to the screen as another person was brutally murdered.
Sorano and Yukino were shaking while holding onto each other, while Richard was as pale as a ghost. Erik and Sawyer's eyes were glued to the screen along with Macbeth's, who's nerds kept on going everywhere due to him freaking out.
"She's gonna die," Macbeth whispered to Richard. The orange haired boy's face was pale, and, sure enough, she died. Her scream was loud and blood curdling. Erik and Sawyer's eyes literally popped out of their heads as Yukino was whispering to herself that it wasn't real.
They all, at the moment, were wishing that they would've watched The Nun instead. But, people said it was freakier than The Slenderman, so they didn't want to take any chances on watch that.
Erik wanted so desperately to jump out of his seat and bolt to the exit, yet, something was keeping his eyes glued to the screen. It was just so interesting, you just wanted to finish it!
Macbeth was staring at it, his skin more pale than usual, and his jaw dropped, as he saw the main character get killed off. "What the-?!" he was then shushed by everyone else who was watching the movie.
"Why'd we have to watch this movie?" Sorano asked herself, her eyes wide as she saw another main character get killed off. She knew that she should've wikipediaed it! But, nope! She just had to go in and watch the darn film without having a clue on what would happen!
Wasn't that the point of a movie?
Everyone stared as the Slenderman cornered and old man...
The seven of them walked out of the theatre, their eyes wide and still pale. "You should bring Yukino more often! That was awesome!" Macbeth cheered happily, trying to hide the fact that he was scared to death.
"Yeah, maybe next week?" Erik asked with pleading eyes.
Yukino smiled. "I would love to! We could go get tickets to the Comic Con!"
