Summary: Yukino gets a strange love note that suddenly appears at midnight… Regular AU

Author's Note: LoL This was a request from Lieutenant Myst. I had so much fun writing this.

Pairings That Might Be Involved: If you are strict with your pairings, warning, there is a little bit of YukinoXsomeone Unknown. Hehehe!

Love Not at Midnight~

Yukino yawned as she plopped down on her bed with a groan. It was 11:59, and all she wanted do was sleep. She has never been up this late, and her body was out of whack because it didn't understand on why she had gone to bed so late.

The reason why she was up late at night, was because Saber Tooth was having a game night and everyone was playing Blackjack. It was a stressing yet fun game. Even though, Rufus was the mean dealer, but no one was surprised.

Yukino quickly got on her nightgown and then laid on her bed. She pulled up her sheets and as soon as her head hit the pillow, she closed her eyes. Yukino was about to doze off, until right when the clock stroke 12:00, her eyes shot open as the loud noise the town clock always made. She blinked, getting ready to doze off again, until she saw a note lying on the ground. Yukino rubbed her eyes, wondering if she was just seeing things because of the late hour. She slowly walked over to the note, picking it up. The white haired wizard stared, reading the note. It had a nice pattern of small stars on it. The writing was elegant and clean. The person seemed to express their feelings very well. That's what she thought, because there were a bunch of hearts on it as well.

On it read…

"Yukino Aguria,

I love thee, I love but thee,

with a love that shall not die.

Till the sun grows cold,

and the stars grow old."

-Your Secret Admirer

PS: Meet me at the pavilion at 12:00 PM tomorrow.

Yukino's jaw dropped. A bunch of questions and terrifying thoughts coming to mind. Her face grew pale while the note slowly fell to the floor. She shivered. Clearly, it wasn't real! There was no way that she had a secret admirer! It may just be a cruel joke that was played by Rufus and Olga, but that didn't seem like their style to pull something off this mean. Just to be sure, she then took a peek at it again, to make sure that it was just her mind playing with her. Yukino's heart sank to her stomach, seeing the same words that had been there before.

She had to tell someone.

An expert in love!

"Minerva!" Yukino yelled, rushing into the black haired girls room. Hopefully, she was still awake. But, then again, it was 12:05, and took the white haired wizard some time to figure out on what she was actually looking at, and who actually would give it to her. That still would remain a mystery to her…

"What?!" said girl boomed, her long fine black hair, now a mess. Her slim cold eyes, now beaty red and tired. She looked to her extremely tired. The bags under her eyes said it all.

"I need your help!" Yukino answered quickly. Minerva didn't seem to care. She just rolled back into her bed, mumbling something about going to Frosch, and something about the 'frog hybrid' figuring it out. Yukino crossed her arms in annoyance. "The note… wants me to meet them…"

With that, Minerva tiredly walked over to where the white haired girl was standing. All she was interested in, was seeing who wrote the note, and who will have to face the Twin Dragon's fury. Minerva frowned as she looked at the note, but before she could say anything, Yukino cut in. "I got a love note! Look!" she yelled, shoving it in her face.

As if Minerva didn't realize that...

Minerva's frown deepened as she read the note, her frown then turned into a bright smile and somewhat of a blush. "Man! Hitch me up with this guy! What a romantic!" Minerva let out a high pitch squeal as she was bouncing up and down, her heart pounding fast as her face was a light shade of pink. 'Oh, this guy was surely a keeper!'

"Uh… how do I deal with it?"

"You go to him!"

"Uh… okay…"

11:50 AM

Yukino was in her regular attire. Shifting in her seat. The white haired wizard was extremely nervous. She's never had a secret admirer before… (*Cough!* Sting *Cough* Rogue!) Yukino looked at the clock. She gulped. She was supposed to meet this mystery man at 12:00 PM, and that was ten minutes away!

Her and Minerva were there first, to get there, and soon the Guild Hall was filled with noise once the clock struck 8:00.

Minerva was bouncing in her seat rambling on if the man was going to be handsome and sort of like a better looking Rogue. "Minerva… I'm nervous! What if he's an old man!? What if, he isn't a man at all?! What if he's Jura?!" the white haired wizard yelled before burying her face in her hands. What if, he was really a serial killer who wanted to kill her?! No big deal, she maybe will have to bring her keys…

Hopefully she won't need them.

"1: This is clearly somewhat younger generation. 2: A woman couldn't write it, this letter is clearly a man's doing. 3: Jura isn't a romantic… at all," Minerva said dryly. She pushed a piece of her hair back behind her ear. "Don't be nervous. I'll go with you!" she assured, a wide smile on her face. No way she was letting Yukino go alone. She may need her help!

She was totally not going just to see if they guy was good looking!

Once the clock struck 11:55, Minerva looked at Yukino, a small glint in her eyes. With that, she grabbed the white haired wizard's arm, and dragged her off to their destination. Yukino's yelps could be heard, as well as her protests about how she could walk there by herself.

But, what the two didn't notice was that two particular Dragon Slayers were watching from a distance.

"We are so following them, right?" Sting asked Rogue, shooting him a look that said 'if-not-I-am-so-dragging-you-there.

"Agreed."

At the Pavilion

Yukino frowned, as she cocked her head seeing a young man sleeping soundly on the bench that was at the pavilion, small snores could be heard. He appeared to be in a deep sleep, and she would hate to wake him up. Maybe he knew where the mystery man was…

Yukino turned to look at Minerva, who shrugged. "I think that's him," the black haired wizard mumbled, pointing to the sleeping man on the bench. Yukino blinked, staring at the man. She couldn't see what he looks like, because he was laying down on the bench.

Minerva smirked. "Go kiss sleeping beauty." She laughed seeing Yukino's embarrassed face. "I'm joking. But, if he won't wake up, then, we'll just go back to the Guild." Minerva shot her look that said go over there and wake him up!

Yukino held the note in her hand, sweat pouring down her face as she glanced at the pillar Minerva was hiding behind. Minerva gave her a nod as Yukino stepped forward, taking a gulp.

Yukino walked up to the man, her finger shaking as she touched his shoulder. For a moment, it felt like time had stopped. You couldn't hear anything.

She sighed in relief, realizing that he didn't wake up. She looked at Minerva, trying to hide the smile on her face. "I guess he's in a deep sleep. Oh well," the white haired wizard said with a shrug, walking down the step of the pavilion. Yukino was caught off guard when strong arms wrapped around her waist. She let out a yelp, her face red.

She knew he was out to kill her!

"Are you Yukino Aguria?" the voice asked as Yukino tried to see who the person was who had held her 'captive' at the moment. She let out a squeak before jumping out of his firm hold and scurrying to a nearby pillar, and hiding behind it. The man just cocked his head. "Well?"

Yukino nodded. "Y-yes, I am," she stuttered. She then looked up firmly. "Are you the young man that gave me this note?"

"Let me see," the man said calmly. He extended out his hand. Yukino looked down, her legs shaking. Maybe, he wasn't harmful…

Wait! She was a wizard! A Sabertooth wizard! She could take him down if he tried to harm her! Yeah!

Yukino walked up to him, her hand shaking for some weird reason, even though she thinks she had gained full confidence. That didn't stop the fact that he looked scary! She quickly handed him the note, she sighed in relief, feeling on the pressure go away. He gazed at the note thoughtfully, before smiling. "Yes. This is my note."

Yukino gulped. She then paused. Wait a minute, he knows her name! Why doesn't she know his? "You clearly know my name. What is your's?"

"Midnight. But, you can call me Macbeth," Macbeth said casually, with that, Minerva and Yukino's eyes widened at the sound of that name. Midnight. One of the Oracion Seis. One of the strongest and most powerfulest of the dark guild. But, since the guild was no more and since the guild spent most of their time in prison, and since they were pardoned by Princess Hisui, and now a part of Crime Sorciere, he's harmless, right?

That didn't stop the fact that he was downright terrifying for Yukino. "Thee Midnight?" She didn't mean to say it, those words just happened to escape from her mouth. What if he takes it the wrong way?! AH! She would hate to be one of his spell targets!

Macbeth cocked his head. "Heh. I didn't know I was popular. Tell me, what am I popular for?" he asked leaning down to her eye level, making Yukino shake.

"Your powers," she started, a slight smile on her face. "and uh.. your defeat.." She winced at the last part, causing Macbeth to blink. Minerva sighed. This did not look good. That's it, maybe she should introduce herself to.

Macbeth looked like he was about to say something, but, before he could respond, there was a loud boom.

"Get away from Yukino, punk!" a voice yelled to reveal Sting who came charging at Macbeth. Sting, somehow, managed to find the way to the pavilion, after getting lost for six times..

The former dark wizard smiled. He didn't seem to do anything, but then he raised both of his hands, green glowing magic coming out of them as he started to turn them in a circular motion. Minerva's eyes widened. That was Genesis Zero! Ahh! Before he could do the spell known as Genesis Zero, Minerva interfered.

"Stop! Do you know how much money it will cost?!" she boomed, her voice dark, making Sting stop in the air and Macbeth pause. Minerva turned to look at Sting. "And, what are you doing here?" She then turned in a direction. "I can see you Rogue."

A mumble of words could be heard that will not be shared due to young ones sakes.

"Yukino," Sting started, turning to look at her. "What are you doing with this chick?" he asked, a plain look on his face as a tick mark appeared on Macbeth's head.

"I am a man," Macbeth stated calmly. "And," he started, a sly smirk on his face. "Do you want me to prove it?" Macbeth's smirk never faded as Yukino's face flushed red, Minerva almost passed out because of a nose bleed, Sting looked confused for a moment until finding out what it actually meant, and Rogue didn't seem to care.

But then, shouts of no's could be heard as a loud shout of something about this being a rated T story and that it wasn't really allowed due to the cowardness of someone… (hint hint…)

"Fine," Macbeth said with a huff before winking at Yukino. "I didn't expect an audience. So, tell me, is milady Yukino really that popular?"

Everyone stopped. "Popular?" Rogue asked in shock, making Yukino's soul start to leave her body as Macbeth grabbed it and pushed it back in, a satisfied smile on his face.

"Yes, popular," he repeated, his eyes narrowing. Clearly showing that he did not like repeating himself. Macbeth looked at the group, a frown on his face, showing that he wanted an answer.

"No," came Sting's plain response before being elbowed in the gut by Minerva. A yelp could be heard. Sting turned to glare at Minerva, who shook her head. If looks could kill, the white Dragon Slayer would've been dead already.

"Oh, I see."

On a Hill, Far away from the Pavilion

"OH I'M GONNA KILL HIM!" Sorano screamed, as she was revealed to be tied to a tree. Right next to her was Erik with a bat in hand and Sawyer tying more knots while Richard was rambling on about how Macbeth appeared to 'love' her little sister, making the situation worse. "ABOVE ALL THE GIRLS HE HAD TO CHOSE, IT HAD TO BE MY LITTLE SISTER?! OH, HE'S GONNA PAY!"

"Sorano, stop screaming. You'll get us caught," Erik snapped facepalming. Why did she have to scream? It was more painful for him because of his hearing! "Sorano, he's just doing this to see if Yukino caught the attention of the Twin Dragon's. We all settled it that it would be him to send the love note."

Flashback:

Macbeth frowned in confusion. "So, you want me, to write Sorano's younger sister, a love note?" he asked, still confused on why the picked him for the task.

Erik nodded, a small smile on his face. "Yup."

"Why me? And why do we have to write a love note to her in the first place?"

"You're the most trustworthy," Erik stated. No, it was just an excuse for the other three boys to avoid Sorano's wrath. Out of all of them, Macbeth would be the most likely person to make it out alive. "And, she is worried that these guys like her. Yukino having a secret admirer, may get them upset." He then smirked and added, "And jealous."

Macbeth stared as Sawyer handed him a piece of paper. "Start writing!" Sawyer exclaimed happily. They were all excited to see how things went. The only problem was, they didn't tell Sorano. So, things may get complicated.

If they told her that Macbeth had no feelings for her younger sister, then things would go by fine, right?

One Day Later

Erik walked up to Sorano. "Hey, Sorano!" he called out, the wizard known as Angel turning to look at him.

"What?"

"Macbeth wrote Yukino a love not and-"

"He what!?" Sorano boomed, her voice literally shaking all of Fiore. Her face was red with anger. Right now, the only thing on her mind, was killing Macbeth.

"Probably not how you should've started the conversation," Sawyer whispered to Erik while taking out a bat. He whacked the insane white haired lady over the head, knocking her out cold.

Thus, leading them to Present Day.

End of Flashback

Erik then turned to see Richard taking a peek through the binoculars, before giggling. "What?" the snake wizard asked coldly.

"Macbeth is in love! He put his arm around Yukino's waist, making the two boys there get mad. And, he walked off with her! I think they're heading to the altar!" Richard exclaimed happily, making Sorano's face burn up, showing that she was literally, about to explode, while Sawyer gave him the zip it signal.

Richard didn't buy it.

"They'll have gorgeous children!" Richard cheered, making Sorano's eyes widen.

"THAT'S IT!" the wizard known as Angel shrieked. The angel let loose all of hell's fury. They swore, even the ground looked like it was about to burst! "THERE IS NOOO WAY HE IS GETTING HIS FILTHY HANDS ON YUKINO! GREEDY-!"

With that, she snapped out of the ropes, the remains of them burning to ash. The former Celestial Wizard ran over Erik and Sawyer in the process. Sorano zipped off, either to beat some sense or maybe kill Macbeth, or to pull her sister in a bone crushing hug. Maybe she'll do both!

Somewhere

Macbeth, laid on the grass of a flower field with Yukino sitting next to him. "So, do you have any hobbies?" she asked, trying to spike up a conversation. He seemed to be quite friendly. Yukino decided that she would show him around the town.

Apparently, he chose to walk up a hill and take a nap.

"Sleeping," he replied calmly, his eyes slowly closing. "I never had a quiet place to sleep when I was growing up." Macbeth's eyes gazed at the colorful flowers being blown by the breeze. It was peaceful. The sun was shining, the sky was blue. And the spring breeze felt amazing.

Yukino's eyes widened. "That's so sad," she muttered, her face looking like she was going to cry. "Can you sleep well now?" Yukino asked, pushing back tears, trying not to cry in front of a complete stranger.

That would be pretty awkward.

"No, not really." Macbeth frowned as he heard sniffling. He then turned around to face Yukino, whose hands were covering her mouth. tears streaming down her face. "Are you crying?" he asked, his eyes wide.

"Your story is sad!" she yelled, as she wiped her eyes.

Macbeth cracked a smile. Nobody had ever cried about his story before. But, this girl, is bawling. Before Macbeth could comfort her, a loud shout could be heard.

Why was everyone interrupting them?

"HOLD IT RIGHT THERE, YOU-!" Sorano yelled stomping over and slapping Macbeth, making him frown, trying to figure out what was going on. "YOU MADE MY SISTER CRY! WHAT DID YOU DO?! YOU DIDN'T DO ANYTHING BAD, IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN BY BAD, DID YOU?!"

"No," Macbeth said before getting up. "And, why are you shouting?" he asked, his eyes narrowed. "I didn't get much sleep and I wanted to take a nap." Macbeth laid back down, his eyes relaxed. He was interrupted when Sorano grabbed his shirt collar.

Sorano then looked at Yukino. "You know you didn't have to go, right?" the former dark white haired wizard asked, her eyes wide.

"I know." Yukino then blushed. "I just didn't expect him to be this good looking," she said, her face bright red. With that, Sorano looked at Macbeth before whispering..

"Break her heart, and I will kill you."

Macbeth didn't say anything as he looked at Yukino. "She just said I'm good looking. Not that she liked me," he whispered with a small smirk on his face. "Finally someone recognizes!"

Yukino laughed while Sorano blinked. She then chuckled. "You know, I wouldn't mind you as a bro in-law."

Macbeth's eyes widened. No way he was marrying into Sorano's family. He'd have to be far far away from where she lived.

Erik finally reached to where they were. "It was all just a test to see if Rogue and Sting actually cared for her. Right now, it's looking like they see her as family. So, I think she's okay," the snake wizard said bluntly with a smile. What they all didn't know, was that the Twin Dragon's really did care for her.

Crime Sorciere's members aren't really love experts.

Richard then skipped up the hill. "And, it appears Macbeth loves her! Our Midnight has finally grown up!" he cheered as Macbeth face palmed.

"I have to admit, Yukino is a charming lady. I don't see her in that way…" Macbeth turned to look at Yukino who beamed. Also, it was an excuse that no one but Erik and Sawyer caught. It was a polite way of saying, I don't have any feelings for her. "Though, we could start being… friends.. if you would want that."

"Absolutely!" Yukino shouted with a bright smile on her face. Macbeth smiled back as the two walked off.

Sorano smiled, wiping a tear from her eye. "Aww! My little sister is growing up!"

"You know he doesn't like her, right?" Erick and Sawyer said at the same time.

Sorano looked at Macbeth with a smirk. "You aren't acting childish today."

"It's because I'm sleepy."

"Sure it is…"

~End

Author's Note: I really think Yukino and Macbeth would be pretty cute. Macbeth is probably my favorite character in Fairy Tail, even though he is down right insane. XD

But, it isn't a shipping story, unless if you'd like that. I'll think about it...
