Me: Thank you for all the love and I haven't even gotten to the good stuff yet! Typical disclaimers apply so unless you want to fail at suing me don't bother trying. And a bit of a warning I will make a lot of musical and movie references throughout the story. Bonus cookies to those that can id them.

Megakat City Hospital: Amelia's POV

I groaned as I was being pulled from the wreck of my rental truck and placed into an ambulance, it was strange though it felt different than the last time I was in an ambulance, my eyes were covered throughout the trip but I still heard and felt things, for one thing they referred to me as "subject" rather than her or she, for another it felt like they were wearing padded gloves like mountain climbers wear to grip better on rough terrain. After what felt like an hour I could feel myself being lifted up and taken into the hospital, I felt a needle poke into my arm and the sounds started to fade away as the sedative kicks in…

My eyes slowly open due to the sound of a heart monitor beeping in rhythm, I slowly sit up I could feel the thin hospital gown covering me but it was a bit shorter than I remember Probably what they had at the moment. I thought to myself looking around the room, it looked to be your stereotypical recovery room, sterile white with water colored paintings typically found at a garage sale, and an old television more suited for showing videos on sex education at a high school biology lab than in a hospital room. I reach around for the remote for the TV but the remote was missing Odds are that all that would be on is bad soap operas and cheap daytime talk shows. I thought to myself.

There was a knock at the door "Come in." I said my voice a bit raspy, I look to the nearby table to see a glass of water, I reach over and grab the glass and start to drink from it just as the door opens…and I perform a textbook spit take because the person walked was wearing a white hazmat suit carrying a clipboard and notebook, the visor on the suit was polarized making it impossible to see the person on the inside. I quickly wiped my mouth "Sorry." I apologized at my reaction.

The voice inside the suit sighed "No it's my fault for not informing you." The voice was feminine "We've had an influenza outbreak so we felt it would be better to avoid any possible exposure to the strain by wearing these." She explained, that was weird; an influenza outbreak in April? Then again some strains are more resistant than others I reasoned as I shifted my weight so that I was sitting upright "Can you tell me what you remembered before you woke up here?" she asked me.

I thought for a moment before answering "Let's see…I was on the highway about to pull into a nearby motel for the night so that I can continue making my way home, it was starting to get dark when I saw the sign for the Motel California, personally I think whoever owned the place listened to the Eagles way too much before building the place seeing as I was in Tennessee but I digress. Anyway, I started to pull into the parking lot when a bright flash of light came out of nowhere blinding me, after that I tried to hit the brakes but I felt an impact and I was out cold." I explained while the doctor was writing this down.

"You were in an accident, luckily you managed to get a slight concussion but we would like to keep you here overnight for observation." She replied handing me the clipboard "Please fill out the patient information, I need to step outside for a moment and talk to another patient. Just leave the clipboard on the table so I can collect it." She replied before leaving me to the paperwork. Luckily the questions on the sheet were standard questions which took little time to answer.

?'s POV

I exit the room and take off the hazmat suit just as Deputy Mayor Briggs and an Enforcer arrived. If not for the fact that awhile back hostile aliens nearly doomed us all by taking all the water from the planet I would be most interested in how she ticks. In a non-invasive manner of course, I had taken the precaution of removing anything that would give the fact that she is no longer on her world from the room, this included unplugging the television and hiding the remote control as an additional precaution.

"Doctor, this is Lt. Felina Feral." Miss. Briggs introduced the Enforcer, I reached out and shook her hand "Felina, this is Dr. Marie Coone." Miss. Briggs introduced me to Felina "So what can you tell us about our resident alien?" she asks me.

I lightly cough "It seems that aside from a slight concussion she is in excellent health, our x-rays show that her bone structure resemble that of a primate but I am no expert on the subject. Her organs are not that different than ours meaning that she has a similar diet to a kat but more focused on red meat than fish." While kats can eat red meat our diets are more geared towards poultry and fish "I suggest stepping into a hazmat suit before talking to her since we have no idea if she has a disease, it would be a good idea to take precautions until the analysis of her blood can determine if she is a threat to us. It would also prevent her from seeing our physical appearance since we do not know if she would react to us violently." I advise them, they nod and Felina removes the tactical vest and Miss. Briggs removes her high heels before slipping on the suits, once I am sure they are securely on I relayed what the patient had informed me. I opened the door and the three of us entered the room.

Felina's POV

I look at the patient that was sitting up looking at us with a look of boredom wishing that she wasn't here Not that I can blame her. I mused to myself, Dr. Coone hands me the patient information, I take a quick glance Amelia Jonas: Age 24, born in Perfection, Nevada. Her mother's named Heather. I read before handing the papers back to the doctor "It's good to see you awake." I tell her.

"And you are?" Amelia asks me raising an eyebrow.

"I'm lieutenant Feral and this is Deputy Mayor Miss Briggs, I have a few questions concerning the accident." I tell her.

"Sure, but I don't know how I can be of any help." She replies.

"Any information that you can provide can ensure that it was actually an accident rather than a deliberate act of life insurance fraud." It wouldn't be the first time a kat tried to play the insurance fraud game most of the time they're caught but the ones that slip away are most likely hiding in a tropical locale away from extradition.

"What?" she exclaims before I explain the reasoning, she calms down and recounts what the doctor had informed us earlier "Um, was anyone hurt in the crash?" she asked me obviously concerned for potentially harming someone.

"No, all that you hit was a light pole. You were lucky that no one was around when it happened." I partially lied to her since she did run into an undead sorcerer but she'll have a difficult time accepting that since it would be impossible to keep her isolated in the hospital. She would demand to leave and eventually piece together the fact that she's an alien here. I'll have to talk to Callie about this, my uncle probably would want her transferred to a research facility and let the scientists poke and prod her until she either dies from the tests or kills herself, and that limp dick suck-up Steele would want her dead just so he could take uncle's job. I thought to myself "If you'll excuse me, me and Miss Briggs have something to talk about." And the three of us leave the room.

We remove the hazmat suits "We need to make a decision since no matter what we do she will find out the truth about what happened." I said to the Deputy Mayor.

Callie nodded in agreement "Agreed, since the last time we had alien visitors they took all the world's water and no doubt the citizens would panic and call up a lynch mob to make her an example." I winced at the thought of that possibly happening.

"She is an innocent bystander by all accounts since PastMaster brought her here when you and Dark Kat destroyed his watch rendering it impossible for her to return home." I said.

"I doubt we could use it anyway since we don't know anyone with magic or the ability or use it to create a portal for her home dimension." Dr. Coone points out.

"Actually there is Dark Kat, but I doubt he even knows what happened." Callie said.

"Not happening, he would kidnap her just so he could find her world and either steal weapons or invade it." I sigh "This is going to be a major pain in the ass." I said voicing everyone's thoughts apparently since they nodded in agreement.

"Might as well get this over with and hope that she faints rather than screams." Callie mutters putting on her hazmat suit.

"She will." Dr. Coone replies following suit.

"Isn't that a bit clichéd?" I ask the doctor putting mine back on.

"You'd be surprised how often it can actually happen." She answered sealing the suit shut. We knocked on the door and waited for Amelia to answer.

"Come in." she replied, I take a deep breath and entered the room.

Amelia's POV

The door opens to reveal the trio that visited me a few moments ago "Can't stay away from me huh?" I joked I could swear one of them choked thinking I was flirting with her. Can't say the possibility hadn't crossed my mind, at least it would alleviate the upcoming boredom. The first one sighs before speaking.

"There is a bit of a complication." The voice of Lt. Feral spoke from the suit.

"What is it? Is it the bill or did you find something wrong with me?" she asked in concern.

"Nothing like that but…" Miss Briggs spoke hesitantly.

"There isn't an influenza outbreak." The doctor replied shocking me.

"What are you saying?" I ask her nervously, one of the people reached up to the hood of her hazmat suit and slowly removed it, my jaw dropped her stunning turquoise eyes framed with black rimmed glasses giving her a sexy teacher look and long golden hair wasn't what shocked me it was the fact that the face wasn't human but it was feline in nature, I could tell that the face was too detailed to be passed off as a mask.

The unmasked cat-person spoke "It is nice to meet you, I am Deputy Mayor Calico 'Callie' Briggs, as I stated I am the Deputy Mayor of Megakat City where you are currently recovering from a crash." The now identified Callie spoke This is too much, this is a joke right? A prank to make patients pay up. I thought trying to make sense of the situation, so I naturally reacted like anyone would give the situation at the moment: my eyes roll back and I think I blacked out before my head hits the pillow.

Callie's POV

I watch as Amelia fainted from the news that she wasn't on her planet anymore.

"I told you so." Dr. Coone replied removing the hood of her suit. I could hear Felina facepalm at the irony of the statement.

To be continued…

Thanks for the reviews and keep them coming, and I promise that the lemony goodness will come later, the TV in the room is based off the one I used to own before it finally crapped out on me and I had gotten a flat screen. By the way I have a poll on my profile page so please vote when you get a chance, but in the meantime until next time…
