this is long but i think you'll enjoy it
Cindy had gone back to her tennis shoes after having to lug around three different books for class. Wearing her high heels was a hassle and a hazard and she was better at maneuvering around in her sneakers. Still, the books were heavy and sometimes she wasn't exactly the best. That being said, today was the first time in a while that she ran into someone and did a complete fall out, books going everywhere and the like. She cursed under her breath as she tried to get all of her papers.
"This is almost like elementary school all over again." She heard from above.
Cindy looked up at Nick as he smiled at her. She didn't do anything, just gathered up her stuff. Nick bent down to help her.
"Here, let me help."
"I've got it, Nick. I don't need your help."
"Come on, Cindy, let me at least carry your books for you. You're trying to be brave and all but those books are heavy and even I can tell."
Cindy debated it but he was right, the books were heavy. She sighed but nodded as she gathered the rest of her papers and stood up. Nick grabbed the books and they headed to the class she was going to.
"So… how's things been? I haven't really seen you or Neutron around."
"Hectic… What's your angle, Nick?"
"Angle? I ain't got an angle. Just because we broke up doesn't mean I don't still care about you, Cindy. I didn't want to break up with you but I mean…"
Cindy glared at him. "You hit me and hurt me. I told you I would never tolerate that in a relationship. I don't know what came over you, but the first bruise was the end of our relationship, whether I kept it going at the time or not. You could have done a lot of things to me, Nick, but hitting me is something I can never forgive."
"Well, I know I'm not the best but do you think we could still just be friends?"
Cindy made a face. "Nick, a man and a woman can never just be friends."
"I meant just be civil to one another. How about you meet me at the Candy Bar and let's chat for a little bit. Nothing crazy or anything."
Cindy narrowed her eyes at him but he seemed to be over his jealousy of Jimmy and having a little truce with him would be nice…
"Alright, fine. Right after school?"
"Sure thing."
Nick followed her to her class and put her books on the desk.
"Girl, this is a bad idea." Libby said as Cindy shut her locker.
"Relax, it'll be fine. I need to get some things off my chest anyway."
"I'm telling you that something seems really fishy about all this. He just 'wants to be friends'? That's the oldest line in the book and you know it. What about Jimmy?"
"Jimmy is a little busy right now with the, ya know…" she said, making gesture to suggest his pregnancy. "Going to the Candy Bar for a drink and some talking isn't going to do anything."
"That would technically be called a date." Libby said, lifting an eyebrow.
"It's not a date. Geez, Libby…"
Libby only sighed as Cindy went off. She hoped that everything went well for her friend. At least somebody should have a halfway decent relationship around here.
"Hey."
Libby turned and saw Carl standing there. She smiled sheepishly at him.
"Hey yourself… Listen, I know you said-"
"Libby, I understand your sentiment about Sheen. Really… You've been in love with him ever since elementary school and the way things happened between you both was a cruel twist of fate. I was happy to help you bridge the gap between the time that Sheen was unable to be with you until now. Please don't take the break up as a defeat for me but as a triumph for you. Sheen seems to be on the mend now and now you can try to rekindle your flame."
Libby shuffled uncomfortably. "I know you say that, but it's not fair to you. I mean, I truly tried…"
"I know. Which makes it that much more meaningful to me. I could tell you were trying but I could also tell that sometimes you were forcing instead of trying. Forcing yourself to love someone you don't isn't the best way to live. I knew it, you knew it, no one's in the dark."
Libby sighed and kissed Carl on the cheek.
"You're a good man, Carl. Way too good for me."
"I know."
Libby smiled and walked past Carl as he sighed. Yeah… a good man alright… he thought to himself begrudgingly.
"Jimmy, shouldn't you be looking into the videos some more?" Sheen asked from the floor.
Jimmy didn't feel like doing much of anything anymore. He was depressed, horribly pregnant, and his back hurt like something fierce. He was also having really bad heartburn.
"I'm not really in the mood for it."
"Well are you just going to let James keep Goddard? I mean, he's your dog."
"Sheen, look at me for a second and tell me what the hell I'm supposed to do." He snapped.
Sheen furrowed his eyebrows. "You're the boy genius, you're the one who's supposed to have all the plans. So far, we've spent a day dealing with Carl –who, by the way, was actually being controlled- and another just sitting around here. James is out there planning who knows what and here we are, the dog and his owner."
"I don't own you, Sheen."
"I know that. It's just we need to take action and we haven't done anything. The old you would have had this resolved in like five seconds."
"The old me was reckless, not pregnant, and had no regard for the way his decisions effected the people around him."
"And we all liked that guy. He was a cool guy." Sheen growled, putting the back of his head on the mattress. "I know you're bummed out about what happened to me in both senses and I know you're depressed about what Carl said, but did you ever think that maybe the old you is who we need?"
"If that were the case then nobody would have given me flack about what happened to you back then. You know and I know that you were being an idiot and got yourself sent to space."
"Yeah. I know. We've established that I don't hold any resentment to you over that. In the meantime, you've got an evil clone of yourself that is just as smart as you running around with your robotic dog with who knows what secrets? And we're just laying here."
"If you want to do something about it so God damned much, then go do something about it. I'm not feeling well and your blethering on about me being lazy isn't helping me feel any better about the situation or about my body. You try carrying another life inside of you and then tell me how apt you are to go-"
Jimmy sat up and Sheen looked up from the floor.
"What is it?"
"That's it… That's why he did this to me!"
"What do you mean?"
"He did this to me because he knew that I would have symptoms that would make me not want to do anything as well as mood swings and I wouldn't want to put the baby in harm's way. He can technically do anything he wants because he knows that I would never hurt my kid… Damn…"
"Brain blast… yay…" Sheen said a little mockingly from the floor.
"Shut up, Sheen… I have to figure out how to stop James without hurting my baby…"
"Why don't you speed up the pregnancy or something? Don't you still have some of that fairy juice or whatever it was that you injected yourself with?"
Jimmy thought for a moment and got up, hissing in pain about his back, and paced as best as he could. He felt the baby move and closed his eyes in discomfort. Sheen watched him from the floor.
"Weren't you supposed to have an appointment with the doctor to have a checkup on the kid?"
"Yes."
"And? All is well. A girl."
"You're having a girl?"
"Yeah…"
"Why didn't you say something?"
"I didn't think it was pertinent. We have other things to worry about than the gender of my baby… Besides, if what you suggested is something that we can do, then you'll probably get to see her before the week is out."
Sheen made a face. "I take back what I said. I don't think you should so that. What if it damages her?"
"It won't damage the baby. I know that the 'magic' that the holograms do are specifically programmed not to harm people. I'm going to contact Timmy Turner in regards to this fact."
Sheen stood up, towering over his friend. He put his hands on his shoulders.
"Jimmy, listen to me for a second." Jimmy looked up at him. "I'm being serious right now when I say this: that was a stupid idea. Please don't look into it. We'll find another way to deal with James."
Jimmy moved from his friend's hands.
"Nothing can be ruled out until all things have been tried."
Sheen sighed. "I guess you'll do what you want… but… If something happens, I will give you a forewarned 'I told you so.' If you need me, I'll be trying to sniff out your man."
Jimmy nodded as Sheen left the house.
Cindy laughed as Nick leaned on the back of the booth.
"See? I told you we could be civil."
"I doubted you, it seems."
"Another Purple Flurp?"
"Sure, why not?"
Nick ordered another Purple Flurp as Cindy excused herself to go to the bathroom. Nick couldn't have picked a better time and when the waitress brought back the drink, he threw the Love Taps into it, stirring them into the drink. It made the Purple Flurp fizzier than usual but since it was already a soft drink, it luckily didn't cause any undo suspicion. Nick decided to move over on the other side of the table. If what James said was correct, then one kiss would be all he needed and if he had to force his kiss, it wouldn't even matter.
Cindy came back and frowned at seeing Nick in the same booth as her.
"What are you doing?"
"I was just tired of talking across the table."
Cindy made a face and sat down, drinking her drink. It was a little fizzier than normal and she coughed, almost choking on the carbonation. Nick put his hand on her back to pat it.
"Are you alright?"
"That's really fizzy. It went down my throat wrong I think." She said with a smile.
Nick nodded and made her look at him.
"You're so beautiful, Cindy."
Cindy frowned. "You were doing so well that whole civil thing."
"Come on, Cynthia. You can't blame me. We've been dating for a while now and just seeing you dump me for Nerdtron after a few months… I mean, how much of a blow to my pride do you need?"
"It had nothing to do with your pride, Nick. You know I have always been in love with Jimmy…"
"I thought you had always been in love with me?"
"I had a crush on you, big difference."
"Yeah? Well let me ask you this much: has he kissed you yet?"
Cindy made a face. "No."
"Then I'm still ahead of the game."
Before she could react, Nick was kissing her passionately. At first she was trying to push him away but something made her a little dizzy and she felt like her heart was going to beat out of her chest. She pulled back from him and shook her head.
"Are you alright?"
"Yeah…" She looked at Nick and he smiled at her. "Have you… always been this attractive?"
"I tried to be. Are your dreams turning into reality?" he said with a dorky look.
She smiled. "I think so…"
She grabbed a hold of his shirt and pulled him closer to her.
"So uh, what were you saying about Neutron?" Nick asked.
"Who?"
Nick smiled. "Thatta girl…"
James snapped a cover on and screwed it down. He smiled.
"Finished… Now I can finish what I had started. And all thanks to you, Goddard."
Goddard lay in pieces in the corner and James laughed out loud.
"Oh, I'm sure it will devastate Jimmy when he sees that. But it will be the least of his problems when he sees this."
Timmy lifted an eyebrow.
"Let me get this straight: you want to progress your pregnancy, give birth, and then save the world?"
"Can't I just progress the pregnancy and wish it out?"
Timmy frowned. "No. You would have to have F- holograms to do that. You injecting yourself with fairy dust isn't exactly safe anyway, but you're not capable of granting wishes. You're a human…"
"Well James wished this upon me so that I would be hindered in doing what I'm supposed to do and save everyone. I can't face him with a gorging stomach and a backache that's out of this world. I'm practically crippled… as well as the baby being there. He's right, I would never want to hurt her."
Timmy perked up. "Oh, you're having a girl? You gonna call her C-indy?"
"No. Listen to me."
"I am listening to you and although, yes, it can be done, I can tell you for a fact that doing it will not be good. You need to suck it up."
Jimmy slammed his hands on the controls.
"That's just the point! I can't just 'suck it up'! I have the world to save!"
Timmy watched him for a moment and sighed.
"You're going to do it anyway, I can tell. You're that stupid… If that is the case, then listen to me well: you cannot wish it out of you. You can progress her all you like but if you make a wish about getting her out, you will be messed up for life. Just go to the hospital, get a C-section, and go about your life."
"A C-section?! The recovery of that on a full scale is almost 6 weeks!"
"You can wish to heal faster for all I care, just don't wish to have that baby poofed out of you…"
"Would you do it?"
"One, I wouldn't get myself into weird predicaments, and two, I have an actual source. My holograms know exactly what they are doing and have the ability and training to do it without problems. You are injected yourself with a knock-off, human created formula that directly effects the body. My holograms can wave their wands and things happen, but this is your actual body, Jimmy. Injected it directly into you is bad enough but then you want to try and do something that is physically impossible and/or out of your jurisdiction with something you don't even really understand? You're an idiot if you do."
Jimmy sighed. "So… the best course of action would be the wish for the progression and then get a C-section?"
"If you're that determined, then yes… then again, you could make a way to do it yourself." Jimmy looked up at him. "I mean, I'm not sure how that would work but I'm sure you can finagle the wish to keep yourself… yourself and be able to have to baby on your own."
"Would it be faster?"
Timmy leaned back a bit. "Yes and no. You won't have to explain yourself at the hospital and all that but, since you're not made for reproduction in the first place, it could kill you."
"If I finagled the wish?"
"Only way to know for sure is to test it out… but that's your call. That's all I can help you with, I'm afraid." He said, pulling back and Jimmy noticed bars behind him.
"Are you in jail?"
"Yeah."
"For what?"
"I think I broke another rule in Da Rules. We'll see what Jordan Von Strangle says… false accusation."
"I hope all goes well…"
Timmy turned the phone off and Jimmy thought for a moment. Do it himself or go have a C-section? He didn't have much time to debate.
gah so much is going on! goddard is disassembled! cindy has been taken by nick again. james has something in store and jimmy has a difficult choice to make: regular or c-section. it would be quite helpful if you guys helped me with that. do you guys wanna see jimmy have the baby normally or c-section? leave your suggestions!
and my theory is that doing wishes from the outside is like when getting caught in a fire. the flames burn and are hot but there is a higher probability you won't die from them. now, if you were able to harness flames and inject it into your arm, you whole arm would probably go into ashes and then suck the oxygen out of your blood and flowing juices and you'd be not only frying on the outside, but frying on the inside as well. doing something like poofing the baby out seems like it would backfire horribly since jimbo isn't a fairy *shrug* just theory...
