how about a steaming chapter of slight libcarl? no? well, sorry, it ended up that way. actually, this kind of just focuses on carl's awesome computer skills that i feel he should have.

ps: that really is his full name. you'll see.

Carl fell into Jimmy's bedroom from the window as Libby slinked in behind him. He looked around and then went to the closet, finding the elevator to go down into the basement where the new lab was set up.

"I know he has surveillance in here. I think I can hack into the cameras and at least see what happened."

The two of them squeezed into the elevator and Carl laughed nervously from being so close to Libby. This was a one person elevator and Carl was skinnier than his younger days but not exactly fit like Nick, so the space was more than close.

"This is quite awkward."

"Just push the button." Libby growled, turning her face away as a blush hit her cheeks.

He did and they went down into the lab. When they came out, they saw that it looked like a small bomb had gone off, enough to char the lower half of the lab and blow out a few glass things. Luckily, the computer was still intact and Carl went to reboot it. Libby looked around, always fascinated by Jimmy's lab. Her phone rang and she answered it.

"Hello?"

"Libby."

"Cindy?"

"It's me. Listen, Nick… he did something to me… I… I don't know what but I don't feel myself. I know it's not me. I… Absolutely adore him. I think he's the sexiest man alive. I just called to tell you that, bye."

Libby looked at her phone and ran back to Carl, who was waiting for the system to reload.

"We need to work something fast. I just got a call from Cindy. She said that Nick did something to her and then she started talking about how great Nick was. Do you think there's a database in there of Jimmy's experiments?"

"I know there is. Whether or not some of them are actually invented is the hard part about it. Maybe he got better at categorizing…"

Something fell and echoed the lab, making the two jump. Libby looked at Carl as she looked at her, pushing his glasses up.

"Wh- what was that?"

"I dunno… You're brave, you go find it." he said.

Libby put her hands on her hips. "Carlton Ulysses Wheezer!"

"What, you want to try and decode this stuff and find what we're looking for yourself? You're the one who tagged me along."

She scoffed and went to go find what had made the noise. As she walked around, she found a small alcove at the back of the lab and walked towards it when lights began to flash around what looked like a hidden door.

"Halt, who goes?!" Jimmy's younger voice said.

Libby looked around in confusion. "Uh… Libby Folfax."

"Access granted! Have a nice look around, Libby."

The door opened and Libby walked in. Her mouth dropped as she took in the things she was seeing.

"C-Carl… Carl!"

"What?"

"Come here, quick."

Carl walked back to where he heard her and looked over her shoulder.

"Hey, it's the Space Armada… Wow, I didn't think he could get everyone's ship in here."

"This is an inter-dimensional pocket I created to keep all of my favorite things intact." Jimmy's voice echoed in the darkness. "I know I'm turning a star into a black hole to create this pocket, but what are memories for?"

"What's with this goofy commentary?" Libby asked.

"I saw a list in Jimmy's desk that said he was going to redo the 'tour voice' so I assume he's going to fix it."

"Good afternoon, James Neutron. How may I service you today?" the computer said, coming on.

"I got to go. Find out what that noise was."

Carl left to check the computer as Libby went deeper into the room. She passed the section that held all of their armada ships from when they went to save their parents from the Yolkians, the travel bubble that Jimmy tried to use, and many other inventions that Libby had never heard of. Probably ones he made in High Tech City. She thought. She turned the corner and found a completely different room labeled "The Evolution of Goddard". She went in and found different sections that had parts of what finally became the loveable mechanic dog that Jimmy always had around. When it got to the years he had lived here, she found where the noise had come from. On the table was Goddard in a heap, torn apart and laid to rest. His head had fallen on the floor.

Libby tsked sadly and picked up the head to look at it. She looked back at the pieces that were on the table and realized that he was sectioned off but not destroyed completely. She thought back to when they had been captured and thought she remembered Jimmy saying something about the malfunction of Goddard playing dead and how he could be put back together again after it. Maybe they could figure something out. She grabbed the pieces and went back to where Carl was.

Carl was having a bit of time trying to get through Jimmy's security system. After all, his friend was a genius so he had a security that was like trying to break into NASA. In fact, Carl was pretty sure it was NASA.

"Hey, I found what fell." Libby said, coming in.

"What was it?"

He felt Libby beside him and went to look at her but he saw a head instead and yelped, rearing back.

"What the hell, Libby?!"

"Goddard's head. Look what happened to him." She said, motioning to the parts.

Carl was still hyperventilating from the scare but looked down at the pieces and frowned.

"Why would Jimmy dismantle Goddard?"

"I don't think Jimmy did this. Remember when Goddard had that malfunction with his 'play dead' thing?"

"Yeah…"

"I was wondering if maybe there was a schematic in the computer that could help us locate that. Then we can just have Goddard piece himself back together and he might be able to tell us something."

"Maybe… if I could get past this stupid security then I could see what I could find."

Libby nodded and then looked around.

"Do you think he has an inventory of his stuff somewhere else? Like on paper?"

"I'm sure he remembered everything."

"I dunno…"

"Look around and see if you can find something then. I'm trying to hack into a genius' computer so I need some silence." Carl growled.

Libby just rolled her eyes and went to looking around some more. She came across a small library of sorts that was top to bottom filled with books. She looked through some of them, reading the spines when she came across a book she was sure Jimmy wouldn't read.

"&Twilight&?" she said with a face.

She grabbed the book and found that it was just a cover. Under the hand holding the apple, she found a bright red hard covered book that had etched in it 'Inventions: Vol. I'. Libby grinned and opened it up, finding detailed notes and pictures of inventions Jimmy had made. Nothing of relevance was in that one so she began to look through the library and find books that Jimmy would never read. Each book was an invention inventory but not something to use for Goddard or for Cindy.

"Woohoo! Who is the best decoder in the world?! Baby-Faced Carlton, at your service!" she heard Carl yelling.

Libby went back into the main part of the lab and found Carl doing a happy dance.

"Carl?"

"I got in!"

"That's great!" she yelled, running up to him.

He grabbed her into a hug and lifted her up.

"I outsmarted Jimmy Neutron the boy genius!"

Libby laughed as Carl set her down. He cleared his throat and adjusted his glasses.

"Sorry…"

"You have every right to be excited. That's quite the accomplishment… Now before you look into the surveillance tapes, can you find stuff on Goddard and something on like a love potion? We need Cindy but we can't use her if she's going to be all gaga for Nick."

"Right, give me a second."

He went through a couple of things and then found the 'search' bar. He typed in 'Goddard' and a whole bunch of files came up.

"I don't know which one to pick…"

"Try 'Goddard repair'."

Carl typed that in and it narrowed down the search. He clicked on one of the files and a schematic of Goddard came up.

"Will that help?"

"Yes! Print that out for me." He hit print. "Now look up something like 'love potion' or whatever and see if we can find something that may be going on with Cindy."

"How do you know that it's something Jimmy did?" Carl asked as he typed.

"I'm not saying it was something Jimmy did for Cindy, but you know he makes some off the wall stuff sometimes. It may have been a prototype but someone stole it. Probably Evil Jimmy to keep Cindy away."

"What if Nick is in on it?" Carl said.

"What do you mean?"

Carl turned to her, pushing up his glasses again.

"Before all this happened, I had cut my hand in Home Ec. and Nick gave me a Band-Aid. I went to talk to Jimmy about some personal things and ended saying some pretty mean things to him. Sheen got pissed off at me and stalked me into the alley where he took off the Band-Aid and found the thinnest of motherboards under the cloth where it must have been doing something to me to think weird thoughts. I don't think it was coincidence that Nick gave that Band-Aid to me."

"And Nick has been all butt-hurt about Cindy liking Jimmy again… so then that would make sense for a love potion of some kind."

"Well the computer pulled up three things regarding a love potion. Let's see… it looks like Pheromone 976/J was a failure… Haha, look at the notes on this one."

Libby looked over Carl's shoulder and laughed as well.

"That was when he hated Cindy. Uh, you feel in love with Jimmy's mom?" she said, pointing to another note.

Carl blushed and turned away. "Uh… yeah. I did… but look, it says that Sheen fell in love with you!"

Libby looked at the note and frowned. "Yeah… that was the start of it. Sheen told me when he was under one of his pills that that was the case. He was trying to get me to leave him."

"Well, this proves that."

"Let's just… move on."

Carl rolled his eyes and he scrolled down.

"Pheromone 976/J is counteracted by the chemical makeup of Guda-feta… The next one is called XJ9000. It says this one was a slight success but had to be drank and only lasted for three minutes. Notes say that it was more of a love/truth serum and could be used to see if someone actually really liked another person. Once the three minutes were up, the effect was over and the person knew nothing of what happened. The last one is called 4x4 or Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang. It says you must kiss someone to have it be effective but a drawback was the almost obsessive takeover of the mind towards the person kissed. The only way to remove it is for the effective person to be kissed by someone else. This will 'kill' the effects."

"That sounds like what's happening to Cindy. Damn it! I told that girl going to Candy Bar alone was a bad idea. I guarantee you he snuck that into her drink and kissed her somehow."

"Well the only way to get her back to normal is for her to get kissed by someone else."

Libby looked at him as he looked at her and then shook his head.

"Oh no! No, no, no!"

"Come on, Carl, it's not like I can kiss her."

"You could!"

"But I'm not going to. Take one for the team."

"Isn't there anyone else who could do it? I mean, I can't just go and grab her up and kiss her."

"Well does it have any other stipulations?"

Carl scrolled down and snapped his fingers.

"Ha, there. It says that the only way to truly unhook someone from Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang is for the person affected to be kissed by someone whom they love."

"That just made things go from bad to worse. Who could we get to kiss her now?"

Carl looked for a loophole and read the notes.

"Well, if it's any consolation, it says that he scrapped the project due to the 'formula's ability to act as a hypnosis agent and create a gateway of susceptibility that excels the brain into overdrive, causing an obsessive effect. The effects can only be reversed based off of the endorphic data of the person before they were affected and thus, recalibrating the mental state of the person.' I assume that means that the formula causes obsession for that person and the only way to fix it is to have them be kissed by someone they loved before they were affected. Right?"

"Looks like it… So who did Cindy love before?"

"Jimmy, duh."

"I know that but obviously Jimmy isn't here… What if Nick kissed her again? I mean, she must have had some feelings for him to trust him enough to try and play nice with him. Does it say anything about the person causing it being the person who can stop it?"

Carl scrolled a little. "I don't see anything… Although, if Cindy is fighting it then maybe we can give her a message and she can break it herself. What if we get her to kiss James?"

"Kiss the enemy?"

"He looks like Jimmy and maybe we can somehow convince her it *is* Jimmy for just a second to make her want to kiss him."

"That seems really far-fetched." Libby sighed. "I guess we'll have to get to that later. Find that security footage."

"Right…"

i hope that made sense about cindy. they are not dismissing her but they have bigger problems to deal with, like where jimmy went. libby thought it would be a quick fix but it isn't so onward with priorities
