Episode 43 – Looking Back
Yogostein looked back in stunned awe as the glowing monster named Long stepped forward. His incredible aura burst off of the many gems surrounding the two, making the once dark room nearly blinding.
"W-what… How?!" The robot yelled as Long continued his advance. "Everyone thought you were dead!"
Long chuckled in response. "You think being trapped in a wall would kill me? I've suffered worse than that."
Long placed his golden armored hand on Yogostein's shoulder. "It looks like you were the one who ended up freeing me." He said. "And now that I'm free, I suppose I require a bit of catch up over the last few months?"
"Uh, right." Yogostein said, trying to hide his fear. "Not a whole lot has happened, you know. A lot of losses, a few major wins…"
"Hah." Long let out in response. "How could any of you win anything? I'm surprised you weren't all wiped out while I was out of commission."
"We're more competent than you think." Yogostein retorted. "Enter managed to get his hands on the Zoolizer for their last member, and is using its power for his own, meaning he's reduced their strength and bolstered our own forces!"
Long grunted in response. "That was just luck, I can assure you."
"Well, he did something YOU couldn't." Yogostein started. Long glared at him with his glowing red visor.
"What?"
"Enter managed to actually tame that Savage… thing." The robot explained. "That's how he's powering the Zoolizer he stole, and believe it or not, they don't want to kill each other!"
Long, quickly and silently, reached forward and grabbed Yogostein by his neck. He started to squeeze as he lifted the robot into the air, he could feel the metal about to compress.
"How!?" Long growled. "How did he manage to do that!?
Before Yogostein could respond, a massive red light blared on from the back. A shockwave of red energy flew through the room, hitting Long and slamming him back into the wall. Yogostein fell to the ground, and then looked back. Without a word, he quickly scampered off, looking to avoid whatever outcome was about to happen.
Long got to his feet and glared at the massive red cylinder in the back of the room. He let out a laugh, trying to hide any fear he had. "You call yourself an omnipotent being, yet you couldn't even destroy me for good."
Another shockwave erupted through the room, though this time Long prepared himself and stood firm.
"I HAVE NO NEED TO KILL YOU YET" The Omnipotence boomed. "BUT YOUR TRAITOROUS TENDENCIES ARE ANNOYING AND UNFIT TO MY CAUSE"
"…YOUR cause?" Long muttered to himself.
"FOR NOW, I WILL LET YOU LIVE" The Omnipotence continued. "BUT IF YOU WISH TO CONTINUE DOING SO THEN YOU WILL LEAVE AND NOT RETURN"
Long scoffed. "Like I need anything you have. I can destroy this world myself."
A burst of red lightning shot out from the glowing cylinder, barely missing Long and hitting directly at his feet.
"LEAVE"
"NOW"
Silently and willingly, Long headed out the exit. He looked down at his hand, as energy started to form into a small statue.
"I don't need this place anymore, when this is all I need."
A week later…
A train rolled into the station. A crowd of mammals, of all sizes, headed into the city as the doors opened. Stepping out of a smaller sized door in particular was a dark grey rabbit.
He was dressed sharply in a business suit and combed his ears back as he stepped off the train. In fact, he was the last one off, carrying a black briefcase alongside him.
He looked like an average businessmammal. But he wasn't.
"Testing." He said to himself as the train left. His voice was fairly deep, but calm. "Can you hear me?"
"Sure can." A female voice said, coming from a hidden earpiece. "I take it you've arrived at the city?"
"I have." The rabbit said as he started to walk off. "How long has it been since I was here? Five years?"
"I mean, probably." The female voice said. "I'm not the guy who runs records."
"You were there, though."
"Whatever." The voice said with a chuckle, though the rabbit had no reaction. "You got the files?"
The rabbit stopped at a nearby bench and hopped up onto it. He opened the briefcase and pulled out two pieces of paper. "I do." He said, before going over them. The papers had information regarding two police officers, a fox and rabbit, who had recently been dealing with odd disturbances in the city.
"Ooh, another rabbit-fox duo." The voice said. "How many of those do you think there are?"
The rabbit didn't respond. "Strange that two mammals with the skills they seem to have are living at a run-down apartment."
"Economy's a bit of a shit, Jack."
"I'll head over for the questioning now." Jack said as he put the files away. "It should only take me ten minutes. I'm silencing communications until we get there. See you, Skye."
"Hey, hang on." Skye said. "I think I know one of these two…"
"Really?" jack said, a bit shocked.
"Well, one of them has the last name of someone I used to go to school with." She continued. "Might be a coincidence, but the species is right…"
"Well, it isn't important to us right now." Jack said as he put everything away. "I'll get in contact with you once I reach the apartment. See you."
"See you, Stripes."
"Hey, where'd that ugly lump in the wall go?" Yabaiba asked. The villains had gathered in the main hall, preparing for the mission of the week. The Org got no response, and then looked back. All the other villains weren't even paying attention to him.
"I'm telling you, my plan is going to be amazing." Sambash said to the other villains. "Big boss is definitely gonna want to see what's going on, so I'm PUMPED for today!"
"Just keep in mind you might not be the one chosen." Kyuemon responded. "Best to prepare for disappointment."
Sambash scoffed, and then sat down on a chair.
Kyuemon looked over at Enter, who was in turn looking over at the massive hole in the wall. "I assume that something's caught your eye?" The yokai asked.
"Nothing." Enter replied, before turning away from the wall.
"Quiet, the boss is about to give out a mission!" Yogostein said. As soon as he finished, the massive cylinder started to light up.
There was a groaning electrical noise, something the villains had gotten used to by this point. The Omnipotence let out a roar as it awoke.
"THIS MISSION IS OF GREAT IMPORTANCE" The Omnipotence declared. "I WILL TRUST IT ONLY WITH THE MOST CAPABLE SOLDIER"
"Hah!" Sambash said as he stood up. "Don't worry boss, I'll finish the Zoorangers off, and I'll take their city with them-"
A bolt of red lightning flew from The Omnipotence's body and directly at the biker monster. It struck him and flung him across the room.
"SILENCE" The Omnipotence roared. "YOU ARE NOT THE ONE TO PERFORM THIS MISSION, SAMBASH"
"W-what!?" Sambash let out as he got back up. "But… I've been waiting for this for weeks!"
"Then you'll just have to keep waiting." Enter stated. Sambash scoffed in return.
"THE ONE MOST SUITED FOR THIS MISSION IS…"
The villains waited in anticipation.
"YABAIBA"
"What!?" All of them let out, excluding Yabaiba, who hadn't been paying attention.
"What?" Yabaiba said, having heard his name.
"How can you give a super important mission to that clown!?" Yogostein asked. "He's never done anything of use, let alone anything important!"
"What's happening?" Yabaiba said, still not having picked up on what was going on.
The Omnipotence shot a bolt of red lightning at Yabaiba. Instead of blasting him away, it instead formed into a piece of paper, with a list of streets and locations written on it.
"Oh, did I get picked?" Yabaiba asked.
"Yes, you did." Kyuemon sighed.
"YABAIBA, YOU MUST TAKE VACUUM CLEANER ORG AND GO TO THESE LOCATIONS" The Omnipotence started to explain. He shot another bolt of lightning at the feet of the Duke Org. This time it formed into a black egg-shaped device, balancing on four small legs. The top was slightly pointed and had a few more spikes poking off of it. The sides of the device were completely clear.
"HAVE THE MONSTER ABSORB THE CLOUDS YOU FIND THERE, THEN DEPOSIT THEM IN THIS DEVICE AND BRING THEM BACK TO THE BASE" The Omnipotence continued to explain.
"Uuuh, kay?" Yabaiba said. He glanced around for a moment. "How am I supposed to get a vacuum cleaner?"
"Just use the one we have, goddamn it." Sambash groaned as he smacked his face.
"Is that okay?" Yabaiba asked. "Is it okay if I use it"
"WHATEVER" The Omnipotence boomed. "JUST GET TO IT"
Yabaiba gave a double thumbs-up. "Alright, I won't disappoint you boss!"
"YOU BETTER NOT"
Yabaiba rushed off, the device in tow, leaving the rest of the villains behind. The red light started to fade, signifying that their master was asleep. After a moment of awkward silence, Enter started to walk towards the exit.
"Where do you think you're going?" Kyuemon asked.
"To do a bit of investigating." Enter said. "I've had my interest piqued, I need to figure out where he went."
"Hm." Kyuemon let out. The yokai eyed the hole in the wall for a moment, before looking back at Enter. "The Omnipotence doesn't want him dead, so you better not cause any trouble with him."
"I promise, I won't." Enter replied with a smirk.
The fox and rabbit were resting on their couch, TV turned off as they played on their phones and made small talk. Simply enjoying the company of each other. It had been nice for the both of them to relax, as it had been a busy past week. With everything that happened the last time a monster attacked, to the New Year's party that the station had held.
"That party was pretty fun." Nick said. "Remember when Ben ate that entire box of donuts?"
"Yeah, it was like a horror movie." Judy replied. There was silence for a moment. "You know, its been almost a year since we started this whole… superhero thing."
"Huh." Nick replied, lowering his phone. "Didn't this start in March?"
"Yeah, but its still been most of the year."
"Weird how time flies." The fox continued. "Feels like it hasn't been any time at all."
"Actually, it feels like its been a year and a half since then." The rabbit stated. "Everything's been pretty… slow."
"Maybe to you."
Suddenly, there was a knock on the door. "Visitors, at this hour?" Judy said, surprised. She hopped to her feet and headed to the door. She opened it and was met with something that was definitely a surprise.
It was a rabbit with dark grey fur, who was dressed in a sharp business suit with a red tie. He had black, triangular markings on his face, giving him a bit of a striped pattern. His eyes were light blue, but they had an intensity that could pop an egg behind them.
"Hello, are you Miss Hopps, first name Judy?" He asked.
"Uh, yes?" She replied, confused.
"Whoa there, buddy." Nick said as he headed over to the door. "She's already got a date, so don't even-"
"Agent Jack Savage of the IBI." The rabbit continued, seeming to have ignored the fox completely. He pulled out a badge, flashing it to show that he was the real deal.
"Never mind."
"What in the world is someone from the International Bureau doing here?" Judy asked, even more surprised.
"Actually, I'm surprised this hasn't happened sooner." Nick said. "We have been dealing with some pretty crazy shit."
"Trust me, Wilde, we've been keeping track of you for a while." Jack said. "To put you at ease, I'll tell you that I'm not here to arrest you or prevent you from doing your work. The government has ruled that you're doing a fine enough job on your own."
"So, if we aren't in it deep, why is a suit talking to us?" Nick asked, suspicious.
"Simple, really." Jack said. "I want to ask some questions. They might help with a current case I'm on."
The rabbit and fox looked at each other, a bit confused.
Jack looked around the dingy apartment for a moment. "…Do you two not have a table?" He asked, sounding confused.
"We have a coffee table." Nick replied.
"…Well, do you have an extra chair?"
"There might be one in the closet over there." Judy said, pointing to the closet. "But you really don't want to open it."
"I'll take that advice." Jack said. "I suppose I'll stand while I'm asking the questions."
A moment later, the rabbit and fox were seated on the couch, with Jack looking at them from the other side of the table. He fiddled with something on his suit.
"I'm reading you, Stripes." Skye said on the other side of the headset. Judy's nose twitched as she picked up the voice.
"Alright, let's start." The striped rabbit said.
"Hold it." Judy said. "I heard another voice, presumably coming from a hidden speaker on your body."
"Ooh, nice catch, Carrots." Nick said.
"Oops, should have turned down the volume a bit…" Skye muttered.
"That's just my partner, Skye." Jack said. "She's simply going to be recording our conversation for future notice. Nothing to be alarmed about."
The two mammals nodded, cautiously.
Jack cleared his throat, before staring at the two intensely. "You two are the Zoorangers, correct?"
"Yeah, we are." Nick said. "I'm Red, Judy's Blue."
"How exactly did you become these superhero identities?" Jack continued. "You two clearly don't have the money to develop technology like that by yourselves."
"Well, that's an interesting story." Nick started. "It started just one normal day, when Judy found a weird note on her desk."
"No, not yet, I found..." She uneasily walked over to her partner, and pulled out the card, and shoved it in his face. "This thing on my desk."
"What is that, a business card?" He questioned, pushing down the rabbit's arm.
"It's some kind of note, and it's addressed to us!" She checked the card over again, before continuing. "It's from... some kind of police organization, but I've never seen the emblem before."
"Well, what's the note say?" The fox queried, grabbing his cup of coffee back off the table, obviously he'd have time to finish it.
"It says..." She flipped the card over and began reading it. "To Judy L. Hopps and Nick P. Wilde. It is urgent that you visit behind the ZPD Police Headquarters at 11 PM tonight. I have a very important message to tell you, in secret, signed D.K."
"So a shady meetup behind the police station in about..." He checked his phone for the time. "Five hours. Sounds fun." He replied sarcastically.
"Do you think we should? It's from some form of police force, and I doubt they'd do anything illegal at the Headquarters itself, considering it has cameras everywhere." Judy thought out loud, trying to rationalize it. "But, it could be fake, and something could happen to us, or..."
"I say we do it." Nick said between a sip of coffee. "What's the point in being a cop if you don't have any trouble to get into?"
"Nick, that's not what..." She stopped herself and sighed, there's no way she'd be able to reason with him. "Alright, we'll go, just make sure to bring something to defend ourselves, alright."
"We did what the note said and met with the guy who sent it." Judy continued.
"And that was…?" Jack asked.
"His name was Doggie Kruger." The rabbit continued.
The clock on Judy's phone struck 11, and from around the other corner of the building, a figure emerged.
The first thing that caught Judy's eye was the head of the animal, which almost exactly matched the logo on the card, and was even more obviously some type of canine... but Judy wasn't entirely sure exactly what kind it was. The closest it came was a wolf, but she had never seen a wolf that looked like it before.
The second thing she noticed was the size of the animal, standing up straight it was around as tall as a gazelle, larger than nay canine's she had ever seen. Then, she noticed it's legs, which were, again, unlike any she had seen before, with large, clawed feet, and completely straight legs, unlike the digitigraded legs on every other canine.
The figure turned to them, the moonlight catching it's eyes, briefly making it look incredibly threatening as it stood there. Eventually, it walked forward, revealing itself more clearly to the two officers.
The figure was quite clearly male, and dressed in a longcoat, which was colored black, with red and white highlighting, similar to how the card was formatted. Ther right side of the coat's hanging bit had those letters again, SPD, while the logo was embroidened on the right side of his chest.
Judy had also noticed that the claws she had only seen in the dark looked less like normal, grown claws, and more like metal claws, with a hint of the metal trailing up his legs. His hands were relatively normal looking, covered with black and blue gloves.
However, the head was where it began to get weird again. His head had multiple distinct fur colors, the lower part covered in white fur, while the upper half was covered in strange blue fur, each of which were separated with black fur that ran all the way around his face.
The creature got closer, and the two officers backed away, reaching for their stun guns.
"Do not worry." It spoke, in a deep, commanding voice, "I am not here to harm you." It soon got on one knee, kneeling to make eye contact with them.
"My name is Doggie Kruger," He introduced, "I'm the chief of the SPD, or Special Police Department." He pulled out a strange mechanical device, again marked with SPD, and pressed a button on the top, causing it to flip open and reveal a badge, which was similar to the logo on the card, but gold, and with extra wig details, and five triangles above it.
"So, you're the one who left this card?" Judy asked calmly, edging her arm away from the stun gun. The badge gave her a sense of calm, this guy was probably official.
Nick soon did the same, and asked a question to the strange wolf, "So, what exactly did you want to talk to us about?"
Kruger got back up on both legs, and began to answer, "The SPD has chosen you to test out some experimental weaponry that we have created." He pulled out a large, steel briefcase. Whatever he was talking about was in there.
"What!?" Judy yelled, but before she could continue, Kruger began again.
"This isn't a request, Officer Hopps. You two are the only possible candidates for this, so at the very least you can take them and consider." His voice suddenly sounded even sterner than it had before, nearly emulating Bogo's "contained anger" voice.
He tossed the briefcase to Nick, who, while managing to catch it, stumbled backwards and flat onto his back, the briefcase's weight crushing him.
"Officer Hopps," Kruger began to ask, looking the rabbit directly in the eye, "You're here to protect and serve, correct?"
"Uh, yes, sir." She nervously answered. Briefly, she turned to Nick, who was still struggling to get the briefcase off of him.
"Well, you have more people counting on you now than you could ever imagine. I hope you know what to do." Kruger cryptically stated, confusing the bunny officer.
"Uh, little HELP HERE!?" a voice from beside her yelled. Breaking from Kruger's stare, she turned to see Nick, still trapped under the briefcase.
"In that briefcase were these." Judy said, holding up her arm and flashing her Zoolizer. She glanced over at Nick, and then lifted his arm up, showing his.
"Interesting." Jack said.
"They're called the Zoolizers, and they let us transform into our Zooranger forms." Judy continued. "We had to use them a bit afterwards, once a monster attacked."
"And that was your first day of this superhero business?" Jack asked.
"Can you ask them how to spell 'Zoolizer'?" Skye asked. "Spellcheck keeps trying to change it to 'Zoolite'."
"The first fight we had was something else." Nick said. "It was like… a rush of energy that I'd never had before. Beating that monster felt even better."
"It was a close fight, though." Judy followed. "If we had been more prepared, there could have probably been less damage caused."
Jack opened his mouth to ask something but was interrupted by Skye. "Hey, so, I just checked up on this 'Doggie Kruger' guy." She said. "There's literally nothing about him in our database, he doesn't seem to exist."
Jack glared at the two mammals sitting in front of him. "This… Kruger, where is he from?"
The rabbit and fox looked at each other and clenched their teeth. "Are you really sure you want to know?" Nick asked. "It's a bit of a big one."
"I'm trained to be prepared for anything." Jack said, fixing his suit.
"He's, uh, actually from a completely different universe than ours?" Judy answered, a bit nervously.
Jack looked at her blankly.
"Alright, these two have to be messing with us." Skye said. "I think you should get out of there, they aren't taking this seriously."
"…An alternate universe?" Jack said, a bit of enthusiasm popping into his once serious voice.
"Oh, GOD, Jack…"
"Yeah, he's from a world where hero teams like us are really common." Judy said. "We actually learned that a few days after we first met him, but that's a bit of a weirder story."
"No, go on." Jack said. "This is very interesting."
The two mammals looked at each other again. Nick shrugged, and then turned back to Jack. "Well, first we took a ride on a universe hopping, flying train."
"Welcome," Said a calm voice from behind them, "To the Rainbow Line."
They turned around, seeing something arguably stranger than the rest of the train. It was a tall creature, significantly larger than both of them, but not really resembling anything they had seen before, but they could tell it was completely furless.
Of course, the strangest part was the large, obviously fake rabbit head covering it's face. It was pink, and had a similar light to the puppet's head on top of it. Speaking of, the puppet from before also sat on the creature's right hand.
Nick slicked his hand across his face, obviously confused by what was going on, "Alright... whatever you are," He started, "I have a few questions about what's happening."
The creature began to speak, interrupting the fox before he could ask any questions, "I am The Director, the person who runs the Rainbow Line, and your current conductor, the Rainbow Line itself is a magical railway that can cross dimensions, I know exactly why you are here, but cannot tell you, and this," The thing said, pointing it's strange elongated paw towards the puppet, "Is Ticket, my co-conductor, he is not a puppet."
"I'm not a puppet!" Ticket yelled at them, a very clearly different voice coming from him.
Nick was about to speak up, perhaps to object to the Director guessing what he was going to ask, but paused and thought, "No, that actually answers everything, thank you." He said, stepping back, "But are you SURE that thing isn't a puppet?" He asked, pointing towards the not-puppet.
"I'm not a puppet!" Ticket yelled.
"He's not a puppet." The Director calmly said, both speaking in unison, confirming that he was, indeed, not a puppet, or at least, not a normal one.
"Why did you need us on here so urgently? Is there something going on?" Judy spoke up, after staying quiet for a few minutes, due to her being weirded out by the rabbit headed creature.
"Nothing incredibly urgent," The Director admitted, "We just need to keep schedule, is all."
The rabbit agent was listening intently at this point. "Where did this train take you?" He asked. "Was it to the alternate universe?"
"No, it was to this weird… red place." Judy continued. "We met the guy behind us getting these powers, he was named AkaRed."
"Yeah, and he told us about why we were chosen and stuff." Nick said. "it was all very… dramatic."
"He told us about the world of Super Sentai."
"What is this place?" Judy asked, disturbed by the endless red void.
"I wish I knew, Judy," Nick tried to answer, "I wish I knew."
"I can help you with that." Sounded a powerful voice from behind them.
They turned around, seeing a figure step out from the inky blackness surrounding them. It was a furless creature like the Director, but this time clad entirely in a red suit, broken up by a belt, which was designed to look like four crosses, clashing together, and a symbol on his chest, the V symbol that was engraved on the briefcase they received the devices, but with a large number fourty above it.
A short cape hung from the cowl around it's neck, which blew in a nonexistent wind. It's head, like the Director's was covered with an object, this time a helmet, much like the ones the two wore whenever they transformed. Despite the helmet having a large, red visor, they couldn't exactly tell if there was anyone behind it. The middle of the visor, again, had the V symbol, while just under the visor was a silver mouth, which looked like it was molded into the helmet itself.
"And you would be?" Nick asked the suspicious being.
"I..." The being placed its hand on its chest, letting off a certain intensity the two had never felt before, "Am AkaRed."
The two looked at him in silence, "Was that..." Nick looked at Judy, who looked back at Nick, "Was that supposed to mean something to us?"
Without missing a beat, AkaRed began to speak, "I am the one who has gifted you your new powers," He turned around, his cape spinning in the wind, "But there is more for you both to learn, danger is looming, and you are to discover something you could never have imagined. Follow me."
He started walking, and the two cops looked to each other shrugging. They didn't exactly have a choice, they were trapped in this weird dimension, and this guy seemed odd, but still trustworthy.
So, they followed him into the void.
They had been walking for what felt like hours, they weren't even sure they were going anywhere considering the complete barrenness of this place.
"Hey, red guy," Nick asked, a bit impatiently, to the masked figure walking in front of them, "Are we actually going anywhere, or are we just walking in circles?"
AkaRed suddenly stopped, "We are here." He said.
They looked around, it was still just the endless void of smoke and lights. Where were they supposed to be?
"Excuse me," Nick said, getting surprisingly angry at the creature standing there, "We're in the literal MIDDLE OF NOWHERE!"
They heard AkaRed let out a small chuckle, before raising his arms, causing the ground to shake as he did. A large stone stage appeared from the ground, directly in front of the red being. The bottom was lined with steps leading up to the flat surface, and a back wall decorated with that same V symbol.
AkaRed then turned his head to the right, raising his right arm as well, causing another large stone structure to rise, resembling steps, four in total, each with five statues of similarly costumed heroes on each step, totalling to twenty. He then turned to the left, and raised his left hand, causing another, similar, stone structure to appear, this one set up the exact same, but with twenty different statues on it.
The two stared in awe at the large structure that had appeared, as AkaRed stepped onto the stage.
"Fourty years ago," AkaRed said calmly, his voice somehow magnifying to a much louder volume, "The Earth was ravaged by evil."
He raised his hand again, causing a burst of black smoke to cover the stage, which cleared to reveal a large, white monster, with a black cross for a head, surrounded by four entirely black monsters, the only details being white rims around where the eyes should be, and white on the helmets. AkaRed had also disappeared from the stage during the smoke, but his voice continued to be heard.
"The evil Black Cross Army planned to take over the world," In a puff of white smoke, a floating model of the Earth appeared, which the white monster grabbed and lifted up, letting out a silent laugh, "The Black Cross King had wiped out the world's largest government agency, EAGLE, the world was in his complete grasp."
"However," The voice boomed, as five bursts of smoke appeared from behind the monsters, red, blue, green, yellow, and pink. Five figures jumped in and began fighting each of the monsters, four going for the identicle black ones, and the red figure fighting the large white monster.
"The heroes the world needed had arrived," The five heroic figures each hit the monsters with rather simple moves, causing them all to burst into smoke, as they leaped into the middle of the stage, performing a group pose, "The first Super Sentai, Secret Sentai Goranger!"
The five disappeared suddenly in bursts of multicolored smoke, with a larger red burst overtaking the multicolor ines, AkaRed stepping through it.
"Over the next thirty nine years, the heroic warriors of the Super Sentai teams have protected the Earth from evil threats of all kind." AkaRed stepped to the edge looking at the two mammals, and then pointed to them, "And as of now, that includes you two."
"What!?" They both said, shocked at what the being had just said.
AkaRed nodded, "Yes, you two are part of the newest team in this long legacy, Zyuman Sentai..." He raised his arm into the air, pointing towards the darkened sky, "ZOORANGER!" Another burst of smoke, this time red, blue, and yellow, appeared from behind him.
"Well," Nick said sarcastically, "At least we have a name now." Judy shushed him in response.
You probably don't believe us about any of this." Judy said. "But, we have proof!"
She quickly hopped off of the couch and rushed to the bedroom. She came back out, dragging a large book behind her. "When we got back from AkaRed's dimension, we met a hero from the other universe named Gai, who gave us this book!"
She threw the book onto the table. It was the Sentai encyclopedia that they had received almost a year back at that point. Jack quickly started to flip through the book, going over the pages of info that were in it.
"This is incredible." Jack said. "This is a breakthrough."
"It is?" Judy said, tilting her head. "I thought you were here about a case."
"I am." Jack said. "Keep going, I want to hear more about your adventures."
"'Bovine Avenue'?" Yabaiba said to himself as he and his new monster looked around the street. "I don't see what's so special about this, do you, VC?"
"Sorry, I don't know either!" Vacuum Cleaner Org replied.
The new Org had a rather top-heavy look to it. Its upper half consisted almost entirely of a corrupted vacuum cleaner, with the rounded back forming a hunched back, but now with two large yellow horns poking out. The actual vacuum hose was coming out of the monster's chest, which it held in its right hand. It was mostly blue, much like the rest of the monster's upper half. A cord dangled off its back, with the plug of the cord plugging into the monster's side.
The monster's head was placed directly above the hose and resembled the standard vacuum head. It was wide and had rows of sharp teeth. Its two red eyes were set to either side, and small horns poked out near them. Yellow veins spread out from the large horns on its back, connecting to the monster's neck.
The wheels of the vacuum cleaner had popped off and formed into shoulder guards, with arms coming out from under them. The arms were blue but had an almost camo-pattern-like series of yellow blotches over the forearms. The upper arms looked bunched up, like a vacuum hose. This was shared with the monster's fingers.
The monster's torso and legs were almost entirely grey. The torso seemed to melt into the upper half, the bottom of the vacuum. It was smooth until it got to the feet, which had large holes instead of toes, and round blue balls pushed into the sides of them.
"I don't even know what I'm supposed to be looking for." Yabaiba said as he scratched his head. He acted unaware of the many mammals that were surrounding him, and the two monsters continued to search for whatever it was.
As they walked down the street, several vehicles swerved around them and mammals ran away in fear, none of which Yabaiba reacted to. Vacuum Cleaner Org, however, was startled several times by the cars, and started to scare the citizens away himself.
"What are we supposed to do about all these bystanders?" The vacuum monster asked. "Want me to handle them?"
"They aren't what we're looking for, so why bother?" The jester monster said with a shrug. "Better to not stir up any real attention!"
"Oh, great idea boss!" The Org replied.
After a bit more walking, the two stopped outside a hardware store. "Seriously, what the heck are we even doing?" Yabaiba grumbled as he stamped his foot. "We've been down this place twice, and nothing interesting has popped up!"
"Boss, maybe we should use that thing you gave me?" Vacuum Cleaner Org suggested.
"The what? Oh right, that thing! Spit it out!"
The Org backed up and reared back. It then thrust its body forward, spitting the egg-shaped object out of its stomach. Yabaiba quickly set it up straight. "Its not doing anything." The Duke Org said. He quickly hit the top of the device with his fist. "Stupid thing-"
Suddenly, a wave of red light emitted from it, covering a large radius around the two monsters. The two looked over to the front of the hardware store and watched as a massive red cloud appeared.
"Oh, that's probably the thing!" Yabaiba stated. "I don't know what it is, but its definitely a thing!"
The two approached the cloud and looked at it for a moment. "Hey, you see something… moving, in there?" Vacuum Cleaner Org asked his master.
"What?" Yabaiba looked at the cloud for a few seconds. It started to come into focus, there was something moving in the cloud, it looked like a recording of something. The two watched it for a moment, before Yabaiba spotted something.
"Those dang Zoorangers are in there!" He shouted. "They're fighting something!"
"What? I can't see them!"
"Right there!" The Duke Org pointed towards the cloud, his arm going through it. Suddenly, the vision in the cloud became clearer, and they could even hear what was happening.
Only a few feet away, Nick and the weasel continued sparring, his smooth sword clashing against the monster's many bladed chainsaws, sparks bursting every time they hit.
"Hah!" It laughed to his face, "You two really are just rookies!" In a flash, Nick found himself flung back by the monster, who was clearly only toying with them at this point.
"AIR CUTTER!" It yelled again, the chainsaws revving, and two familliar bursts of wind quickly gliding towards the fox, who held out his blade, which mnaged to somehow block the bursts that had previously cut down a building. Pushing with both arms, the fox stepped forward, slicing the air in half, creating multiple explosions behind him as the bursts launched harmlessly to the ground behind him.
Judy watched on, amazed by what her partner just did, despite him not even seeming to realize, as he ran straight back towards the Kamaitachi. Seeing her partner so determined, Judt decided to rush towards the monster as well, both blades in paw. Despite being farther away from the monster, Judy's light physique and fast feet got her there first, where she struck the monster, currently only looking at the red fox, directly in the back wit both of her daggers.
"AUGH!" It yelled in pain, turning around to face the rabbit who had just harmed him. Soon enough, though, another burst of pain flashed through his mid section, sparks scattering from the wound.
The fox that he had ignored for a second had slashed through him with that sword, the pain was immense, but all he could see in front of him was the two heroes, standing side by side, weapons clutched in their hands as they defiantly looked at him.
Rage filled it's eyes, as it began slicing at the two, chopping directly through the concrete as they swiftly dodged every strike it attempted, and with every dodge came yet another injury, as they sliced the weasel whenever it was vulnerable, keeping a close distance. Its anger was building, and the two could see it's previously yellow eyes turn to dark red.
"I'm done playin' around!" It yelled, beginning to rev up it's saws once again, "You two half-pints are gonna get SHREDDED TO PIECES!"
Without warning, the weasel began flinging its arms around shooting off dozens of air bursts, a swarm of them attempting to slice the two to bits. Luckily, they could feel their instincts tell them when to get out of the way, as they nimbly dodged each slice.
"How is this happening!? There's only two of you this time!" The monster was beginning to panic, teetering back from the shock of these two animals managing to evade every attack he made.
As quickly as it could, it rushed back towards the two, striking at them again and again, this time much more sloppily, which they responded to with even more hits and blocks, it was clearly beginning to break down.
With a slash from Nick's sword, the monster was knocked backwards, struggling to stand, but still managing to stay up. That was, until it heard a loud cry.
"HEADS UP!"
The rabbit had jumped up, and boosyed herself off the fox's head, annoying him, an then threw her daggers straight into the creature's face, causing an explosion that knocked it down.
"Let's finish this." Nick said with a snarl, raising his sword up above his head.
He then moved it counter-clockwise, gripping the handle as hard as he could. Suddenly, the blade burst into flames, not seeming to bother the fox, but startling Judy, and causing her to jump out of the way quickly as he suddenly swung it forward.
The flames caused the sword to extend, easily up to twelve, fourteen feet ahead of them, far surpasing the distance that the monster laid from them, it sttempting to get up as it closed in.
"FOX FIRE SLASH!"
With a deft burst of light, the elongated flame sword cleaved through the monster, it suddenly returning to normal size.
Somehow, the monster was still alive, as it staggered forward, "I can't lose! Not again! You two..." The Kamaitachi pointed towards the two, before teetering over into a fall, "You two aren't even ninjas!" With that last message, the finally fell over, creating a large explosion.
"What is this, Boss?" Vacuum Cleaner Org asked as the vision started to repeat.
"I think that was one of Kyuemon's monsters… which means…" He looked around for a moment. "I think this is the first spot those Zoorangers ever beat one of us!"
"How historically significant!"
"And ANGERING!" Yabaiba shouted. "Quick, suck that thing up and put it in the thingy!" He ordered, pointing at the egg-shaped object.
"Oh, that thing is a container!" Vacuum Cleaner Org said. "You're so smart, boss!"
The vacuum monster thrust his vacuum tube into the cloud, quickly sucking it up into his body. He then carefully examined the container and found an area that perfectly fit with his vacuum. He plugged it in and released the red cloud into the container.
The container was partially filled, the cloud rolling around in it and giving it a faint red tint.
"Alright, that's one down." Yabaiba said. "Let's see what's on the docket next…"
After trying to figure out how to pronounce the name of the next street on the list, the two monsters quickly moved on.
"What are we doing out here?" The floating skull groaned. Enter and Savage were out in the middle of the forest surrounding the mountain base. "Can't we just go to the city and destroy something?" Savage asked.
"No, it isn't our turn." Enter replied. "Besides, this is something more important."
"Hm? This related to the plan?"
"No, I just really want to rub my victory in Long's face." Enter bluntly, and uncharacteristically, said.
"Very… Forward of you."
The two continued to search the woods, until eventually noticing a bright light coming from under a rock cliff. They headed to the base of the cliff and found a cave. Long was sitting in the middle of it.
The Eternal Dragon snapped his head in Enter's direction, but the android continued on without fear. "Long time, no see." Long said.
"Same to you." Enter replied. "I suppose you're incredibly interested in how I managed to make Savage's power my own?"
"Your OWN!?" Savage yelled. "We're sharing this power, thank you very much!"
"I was phrasing it in a way he would understand." Long retorted.
"Aw look, the beast has become a willing pet." Long said with a chuckle as he got to his feet. "And you got me, I am VERY interested in how you managed such a feat."
"It was very simple, actually." Enter started. "Do you remember back at the underground base, where you got utterly defeated?"
Long glared at Enter for a long moment. "How did you even know that…?" He asked.
"We have a screen in our base, it lets us watch anything." Enter said. "And I see you do remember."
Red and Blue set their combined weapon up, and aimed it as Dorou flew towards them. They pointed it up, and fired the energy arrow directly through him. It pierced through his chest, instantly causing him to explode.
All five of them let out a victory cheer, as the stunned Long and Savage looked on, having stopped fighting as soon as they saw the first hit. Savage started clapping his claws together. "Okay, gotta admit, that was awesome."
Long just growled and clenched his fist. He quickly shot Savage a look.
From the explosion flew Herder, and a Chaos Badge, which clinked against the ground. Emily and Henry rushed over to him, their armor folding back up into their belts. "Chief, you alright?" Pink said, shaking the goat.
He opened his eyes, and sat up. "Ugh, what happened?"
"The Zoorangers and us saved you." Henry explained.
"They did?" He mumbled, surprised. He fell silent afterwards.
"We haven't saved you guys yet!" Silver said, pointing to the Chaos Badge. "We still got a giant monster problem!"
The Chaos Badge lifted itself into the air, and then flew off… jabbing into the ceiling. It started to hit the ceiling repeatedly, before it started to glow.
"Uh, that's new." Red said, watching the badge.
"Oh god!" Blue yelled. "Everyone get out of the way!"
"What?" Red asked.
"It's going to grow giant IN HERE!"
The five ran as fast as they could, Emily and Henry helping Herder along to the very edge of the room, right by the steel sliding door that had let the truck in.
Blue's prediction was right, as the badge exploded, creating a bright flash of light. Chaos Dorou had reappeared, towering above them while still crouching down in a four-legged position. The monster took up nearly the entirety of the room, his feet touching the corners. He let out a groan, before thrusting himself upwards.
The monster crashed through the ground, creating a massive surge of sunlight to flood the room as he pierced to the surface. "SYSTEM RESTORE!" The monster yelled, before leaping out of the pit and up to the ground.
"Oh, cheese and crackers!" Blue let out. "He's right next to the city!"
"We can't let him hurt anyone!" Silver shouted. "Let's go take him out!"
The three quickly summoned their mechs, which leaped out of the pit as well. As they jumped out, ZooSagi and ZooKitsune formed into ZooRobo, while ZooOkami transformed into ZooKami.
"Well, looks like we'll have to handle this some other time, huh?" Savage said, starting to walk away from Long. "Don't worry, this isn't over!" He said, turning back to Long as he walked backwards.
"Oh, but it IS."
Long thrust his palm forwards, shooting out a stream of golden energy, which flew directly towards Savage.
"What the-" The energy started to flow into Savage, causing him to groan in pain.
"The hell's he doing?" Emily asked as they watched the energy flow into Savage.
"I have no idea, but its probably not good." Henry answered.
Suddenly, Savage started to swell up, growing slightly larger. He then started to grow rapidly, until he had been transformed into a giant monster, on par with the monster that had just escaped. He leaped out of the pit as well
"And what does that have to do with anything?" Long growled.
"Well, I found it quite fascinating how you manipulated Savage's body in order to make him grow." Enter continued. "So, I did some research into the Qi that you use and managed to develop a device that let me manipulate it as well. Not on the same level as you are able, obviously, but I managed to piece my partner here back together."
"And you know WHY I haven't decided to murder Enter yet?" Savage growled. "Because unlike you, he didn't stab me in the back."
Long glared at the two. "How exactly did you bring Savage back to life after that?" Long asked. "Last I checked, he was obliterated."
"Its fairly simple." Enter started. "As I can't interact with Qi, I developed a machine that could."
"Hah, a machine couldn't even sense Qi." Long laughed.
"Qi is a fundamental part of the world, and like any energy, it was fairly easy to create a machine to track it." Enter retorted, causing Long to let out an annoyed growl. "Once I developed the machine, I went to places where Savage's energy had lingered."
Enter looked on into the midday sky. It had taken a few hours for the energy he had collected to gestate and form. He had realized that it was ready when it started hopping around violently. He pressed down on the top of the device, causing it to open.
The energy started to swirl out, fully visible and taking on the form of green mist. It swirled around in the air, before taking on a concrete, though still intangible shape.
It formed into a skull, specifically the form of a canine's. The eye-holes quickly lit up with orange lights, and the skull started to look around.
"What? Where am I?" It snapped, in a slithering voice.
"'Allo there, Monsieur Savage."
The skull glared at enter for a second. "You! You're one of Long's buddies!"
"Buddies is a strong word." Enter said. "We're more like… business partners."
"What happened? I feel like I just woke up from a nightmare." Savage asked. "And… what happened to my body?"
"Long removed your energy from that lion's body, remember?" Enter explained. "Without anything to channel your form, you were just meaningless energy. I collected that energy up, and rebirthed you."
"I would have appreciated a body." The skull said.
"I have my limits." Enter said. "But, I would like to make a deal with you."
"No thanks, I've had enough deals for my immortal lifetime." Savage said, turning away from Enter.
"This is a deal with only good for both of us." Enter said. "I need your energy, and I can grant you a body at the same time. It's a win-win situation."
"Interesting, but how do I know you won't betray me like your 'business buddy'?"
"Trust me," Enter started, with a rather sly smirk. "I have more important people to betray."
"I don't know what that means, but I believe you… a bit." Savage said. "I'll go with it, as long as I get to kill some things."
"There will be plenty of killing." Enter assured.
"You just collected his remnants, nothing more." Long said. "Even with that, you wouldn't have been able to gain half the power he had while in the body I created."
"You don't think I didn't realize that?"
"These are incredible." Jack said as he continued to look through the book. "And you said you've actually met some of the mammals from this other universe?"
"They like to be called 'humans'." Judy said. "Apparently they evolved from primates."
"Fascinating." The striped rabbit said.
"Jack, snap out of it." Skye said through the earpiece. "We don't have all day, and we need to get something out of this or else we'll be in trouble for wasting time and money."
Jack looked up at the fox and rabbit. "Do you know if these kinds of super powers are commonplace in this other world?" He asked.
"I don't really think so." Nick said. "At least, it hasn't come off that way when we talked to them…"
"Well, there was-" Judy started, before she was interrupted by her phone ringing. She gave a sheepish smile to the agent. "Can you excuse me for a second?"
Jack gave a nod. The rabbit cop hopped off the couch and headed into the kitchen. Se answered it, Max appearing on the screen.
"Hey, how's everything going?" The wolf asked. He was standing in the middle of the police station's lobby.
"Max, me and Nick are kind of in the middle of something important." Judy whisper yelled. "If you just called to say 'hi', you picked a bad time."
"What? Oh, I called to tell you about the monster reports that just came in." He said. "Like, fifteen came in all at once."
The rabbit let out a groan. "Why did it have to be right now?"
"I don't know what's going on, but maybe this will help you feel better." The wolf started. "We haven't had any reports of attacks, just… reports."
"…How is that supposed to cheer me up?"
"Well, it means this isn't a major priority right now." Max said. "Em, Henry and I will go take care of it, you deal with, uh, whatever you're doing."
Judy sighed. "Alright, but call us if things get difficult, alright?"
The wolf nodded, and then hung up. Judy headed back to the couch. "Sorry about that."
"So, who is this 'Max' character?" Jack asked.
"What? How did you-"
"Hm, I wonder." Nick interrupted as he quickly grabbed Judy's ears. "Must have been magic." She quickly swatted at the fox's paws.
"Max is our third member, ZooSilver." Judy explained. "He's been a massive help to us over the last year, I don't think we'd be alive if he hadn't shown up."
"Weird thing, we actually didn't know who he was when he started helping us." Nick followed. "He wore a hood and a voice box, kept himself hidden."
Magnetroid slowly walked towards the two, pushing the Buglers out of the way as he did. It was time to finish them off.
He reached within a few inches of them, the two arguing organics not even noticing he was there. He pulled out two daggers, both marked red and blue. He was ready to strike them, finish them off for good.
But just as he was about to, a noise got all three of their attention.
"HOT HOT SUN!"
In a flash, the monster felt a burning fireball smack directly into its chest, resulting in an explosion that knocked it backwards.
"What was that?" Blue asked, turning to the direction the fireball flew in from.
They both looked in the distance. A rather tall figure walked towards them. Not as tall as a Sentai ranger, but taller than both of them by the looks of it. It wore some kind of black cloak over most of its body, covering everything but its legs and arms. Even then, a piece of black cloth, which looked like it was ripped directly from the cloak, covered something on the figure's wrist.
From what they could make out was a very similar look to their own suits, but colored a glittering silver. It also carried what looked like a rapier, with a very bulky, rounded guard.
"I suppose you need my help yet again, ZooRed." It said, its voice gravelly, deep, and almost definitely artificial.
"Wait, are you...?" Red said as the figure walked between them. The mammal gave a brief nod, affirming the fox's suspicions.
The monster hastily got up, obviously angry at the figure. "Who the hell are you supposed to be!?" It growled.
The figure raised the arm it wasn't using to hold the sword upwards, parallel to the ground. It then raised the hand holding the sword upward. "GUARDIAN OF THE ECLIPSE!" It yelled, before quickly spinning around and pointing the sword directly at the monster. "ZOOSILVER!"
"THERE'S ANOTHER ONE!?" The monster yelled, terrified.
"Oh man, that means I don't have to have this jerk as my partner anymore!" The two other rangers said in complete unison. They glanced at each other, and then turned away.
"It's time for your dawn to end!" ZooSilver said, stepping forward.
Magnetroid backed away slowly, retreating behind the crowd of Buglers. "Get him, you idiots!" He yelled, pointing towards the approaching silver figure. The army of Buglers quickly ran towards it.
"Behold my weapon, the Eclipse Thruster!" Silver yelled, dragging its paw across the blade. "With it, I can harness the very forces of the cosmos!"
Silver rushed towards the crowd of Buglers, quickly exterminating a few of them with a few slices. The figure stopped, and turned back to the two other Zoorangers. "It has three amazing modes for battle!"
It turned back, slashing a fe more Buglers backwards. Silver then dragged its paw across the guard, causing it to spin around incredibly quickly, visible sparks flying off. It then put its paw on it again, causing it to stop and emit a glowing red light.
"HOT HOT SUN!" A deep voice from the sword cried.
"Sun mode gives my blade the strength of the sun!" Silver cried, his blade suddenly lighting into a blaze. It slashed effortlessly through a large group of Buglers, the range of the blade increasing exponentially as it did.
"It also lets he harness solar energy into a powerful blast!" Silver said, demonstrating by thrusting the blade forward, causing the fire to fly off directly into another large group of Buglers, who were almost instantly vaporized in the explosion it caused.
Silver spun the hilt again, more sparks flying as it happened, and then placed a paw on it, stopping it in place. A blue light emitted this time.
"SHINE SHINE MOON!"
"In Moon mode, I can control light through my blade!" Silver slashed a few times, causing a long strand of blue light to shine from the blade, and also slash at a group of Buglers. It had functionally turned into a whip, but made of light.
Silver followed by showing just how whip-like it was, swinging it around to manipulate a group of Buglers into a straight line. Silver thrust it forward, the strande extending and going directly through the torsos of the Buglers, causing them all to explode.
"And with that, your night has fallen."
"Why did he keep himself hidden?" Jack asked.
"It was something about training." Judy answered. "He wanted to help us before he was finished training, but his master didn't want him to reveal his identity."
"He still helped us out that one time, though." Nick said. "We didn't even know he was ZooSilver when that happened."
"We had a bit of difficulty getting along once he actually did officially join the team." Judy said with a sigh. She quickly glanced over to Nick. "Mostly because of a certain SOMEONE'S trust issues."
"Bite me, he was acting cocky."
"But we got through it." The rabbit continued. "Max just has a real passion for this super hero stuff, apparently things like what we're doing inspired him to become a police officer."
"Listen, I know it doesn't make any sense, but I've been watching this stuff for years."
"Oh, so you're a nerd." Nick said, deadpan.
"Yes." Max replied, not catching onto the sarcasm. "I've watched Zoo Rangers since it started airing, it's really important to me."
"So, I guess this entire thing is like a dream to you, huh?" Judy suggested. "Must be pretty lucky."
Max nodded. "Ever since I was a kid, I wanted to be a hero like the Zoo Rangers," He started up, sifting in his seat a bit. "But obviously it was impossible for me to become a real super hero, so I became an Officer. Second best thing, right?"
"In a way, I suppose." Judy said.
"So, wait," Nick started. "You still watch Zoo Rangers? I thought it got cancelled decades ago."
"That's just what everyone thinks," Max started. "It's a kid's show, no one in the media actually cares about it."
"Huh." The two let out.
"Sounds like an… interesting individual." Jack said.
"Yeah, but it wasn't all fun for him." Nick said. "After a while, he started to feel more and more jealous of us as we got new weapons. Took a toll on the poor guy."
"His master helped him through it, though." Judy finished. "Now he's even stronger than ever."
Smoke was drifting from Silver's body as he started to pant heavily, hunching down slightly. He let out a massive, savage howl, rocking the ground they were standing on and even causing the water to shake.
Before any of the villains could react, Silver raised his right arm up, and fired several shots from the device directly at Kyuemon. They rapidly struck his hand, causing the Yellow Zoolizer to hit the ground.
Kyuemon looked at his hand, which was smoking, and in pain. He glanced back up, just in time to dodge out of the way as Silver leaped through the air, slamming his claw down into the concrete.
He let out another howl, before looking Chaos Pipe Banki right in the eyes. The monster let out a grunt, and lashed its pipe tentacles at the wolf. Silver slashed at the pipes as they approached, cleaving right through them. The beast let out a roar of pain as its tentacles tumbled off the sides of the dam.
Silver planted his feet firmly on the ground, before letting out another howl. The ears of his armor started to light up, and then fired out a stream of fire. The wolf was lifted into the air by the jetpack, grabbing onto Chaos Pipe Banki's neck with his massive claw as he continued.
In seconds the two were high above the dam, Silver still gripping onto the monster. He stopped, and threw the monster upwards. Hovering there, he then unleashed a torrent of fire from his gun arm, large explosions visible from below as the blasts struck at the monster.
The robot continued to fall, and was about to pass directly in front of the wolf. As it fell, Silver slashed upwards with his claw, slashing right through most of the monster's body.
The body continued to fall towards the purple water, and splashed down into it with a heavy burst of water. A second later, there was another burst of water, this one much larger.
"He managed to beat Pipe Banki by himself!?" Yogostein shouted, astonished and a bit afraid. "That thing is… terrifying!"
"But there's no way it can defeat the giant form." Kyuemon stated, confidently.
The water suddenly started to glow, before the upper half of a massive Chaos Pipe Banki burst from it. It let out a roar at Silver, who was still hovering there silently.
The monster used its sword to slash at the wolf, but he deftly dodged out of the way. With a growl, Silver prepared to let out another howl.
This one was loud enough to even cause the giant monster to stumble a bit. Silver then let out a yell.
"HOWLING ECLIPSE CANNON!"
The armor piece suddenly flicked open, like a mouth, revealing a large cannon inside of it. The tip of the cannon started to glow, before firing out a massive silver laser. It sliced directly through the monster's body, causing it to let out a massive wail of pain.
Silver started to tilt his body upwards, bringing the massive beast up alongside the laser. Soon, the giant monster was high up in the air, the beam still piercing through its torso.
It gave out one final cry of pain, before it exploded.
The two villains were stunned silent.
"Seems you've made quite a connection with Max." Jack said.
"Is this really the time to be talking about their relationships?" Skye grumbled.
Jack gave a slight nod. "How about we take a short break?" He suggested, clasping his paws together. "I could go for some tea."
"We only have coffee." Nick said.
"Haha, check this place out!" Yabaiba said as the two Orgs approached the massive building. "Pretty ritzy!"
"So, we're supposed to be finding another one of those cloud things here?" Vacuum Cleaner Org asked.
"Yeah, it says it right here." Yabaiba said, looking at the list. "'Inside the Central Tower'. Hopefully it isn't too far up there."
Yabaiba rushed up to the door and kicked it open. The first floor was crowded with mammals, who all fell silent. Then they started screaming, and quickly rushed past the two monsters in a hectic attempt to escape.
Both Orgs ignored them. The vacuum monster spit out the large device, and Yabaiba reached down to tap it.
He was quickly interrupted as lasers fired at his arm, causing him to yelp in pain. "Stop right there, clown!" Silver yelled as he, Pink, and Green rushed into the building. "Whatever you're planning on doing, stop planning it!"
"What!?" Yabaiba shouted, gripping his head. "We didn't attack anyone, how were we found out!?"
"If you want to be hidden, try actually hiding." Pink said before firing a few shots at the vacuum monster.
"You two take the monsters, I'll handle… whatever that thing is." Green said. The other two Rangers gave a nod, and quickly ran into battle.
"Augh!" Yabaiba shouted. "Don't let them break the thing!"
"Got it, boss!" Vacuum Cleaner Org said. It quickly whipped its tube, causing a secondary grey tube to appear. It appeared to be made out of a harder material compared to the rest of the tube and had serrated blades on its side.
Silver attempted to strike the vacuum monster, but it quickly blocked with its own weapon, and then pushed him back. Pink ran up and delivered a kick to the vacuum monster's side, knocking it back.
As the two fought the monster, Green rushed past and examined the device that was planted in the middle of the room. The bull didn't have time to examine it carefully, and assumed that it had to be some kind of weapon.
He pulled out his cannon, and aimed it at the device, preparing to destroy it with one blow. Then, there was a sudden pain in his side. He looked down, noticing that a knife had been lodged into his side.
"I'm not letting you guys ruin this one!" Yabaiba growled as he flashed two fans of knives. "This is an important job from the big guy, and I'm the only one who can do it!"
"Whatever it is you're trying to do, we're going to stop you." Green retorted.
The Duke Org quickly threw all of his knives at the bull, who quickly spun his cannon around. Most of the knives hit the weapon, but a handful of them lodged into his suit. He was strong enough to take a few of them, however.
"VC, get this guy away from the thing!" Yabaiba ordered.
"Yessir!" The monster said. It was currently twisting Pink's arm while its weapon was locked with Silver's. The Org quickly kicked Silver in the feet, causing him to fall down. It then followed up by twisting Pink into a grab, and then throwing her off.
The vacuum monster spun around and aimed its weapon at Green. A massive, powerful burst of air shot out. The blast was strong enough that the bull was sent effortlessly flying to the other side of the room.
"Goodo Jobbu!" Yabaiba exclaimed while giving a thumbs-up. He quickly skipped up to the device and tapped its top. There was a flash of red light, and the Zoorangers watched as a red cloud appeared in the middle of the room.
"The hell's that?" Pink asked as she and Silver got to their feet.
"Alright, not a bomb…" Green said as he picked himself up and tore the knives out of his suit.
"I wonder what's on this one?" Yabaiba said as he swept his hand through it. The Rangers watched, confused, as what seemed like a video started to play.
"BLUE!" Red yelled, getting up. "YOUR PLAN'S A BUST!"
"I HAVE A BETTER IDEA!" She yelled back, letting out a pained whimper as she got stung by one of the bees. "FIRE!"
"Fire?" Silver questioned, helping Red up.
"The bug spray!" Red said, pulling the cans out. "Bug spray is flammable!"
"If we use our fire attacks, we could destroy it for good!" Silver chimed in. "But we'll have to do this together if we want to finish him off right now."
Red nodded, and turned to the bee prison. "You're a miracle worker, Carrots!"
She let out a horrible, pained yell.
"We should probably hurry on this." Silver said.
"Alright," Red started, holding out the bug spray cans. "This will take a bit of dexterity. You up for it?"
Silver spun the guard on his sword, switching it to Sun Mode. "I am now."
"What the hell are you two up to?" The bee questioned. "I'm excited to see how you butcher another chance to beat me!"
Red then chucked one of the cans at the monster, it hitting him in the face. Silver turned to look at the fox, who now had the Vickscannon in his paw. "What?" He said. "I need an extra paw."
The two pulled back their arms, and chucked the cans at the same time. They both attacked, Red firing a shot from the cannon, and Silver slashing his sword, sending off a blast of fire. The shots hit the cans, which burst into a surprisingly massive explosion, charring the ground with flames and destroying any wooden object in the room.
"Wow." Red said, shocked. "I didn't know they were that flammable."
"It might just be our attacks."
The fire cleared, and the monster was still standing, albeit on fire. It let out a scream of pain. "BEES! HELP!"
The swarm of bees flew away from the rabbit, and began swarming around the monster. The flew back into the monster's shoulder, having cleared the fire. "Ah, much better."
"You just made a big mistake, waspy!" Blue yelled, running up to her partners. "Now you have to deal with all three of us!"
"Uh oh."
"TIME FOR THE ZOOKAIZER!" She yelled, pumping her fist with an enthusiastic leap. She recoiled in pain a bit as she landed. "Oh, yeah, bee stings still hurt."
The three flung their weapons into the air, where they combined into the massive gun, aimed directly at the monster.
"SOLAR NATURE BLAST!"
The cannon fired a large orb, which split into smaller red and blue orbs. The orbs flew through the monster, and flew up above it, combining back into a large silver orb, and slamming down onto the beast, causing it to explode. A small mole flew out of the explosion, landing unconscious on the ground.
The three sighed in relief, watching as the massive needle dissipated. "Thank goodness that's over." Blue said, wiping her brow. "The stress was killing me."
"What was that?" Pink asked, even more confused than before.
"That was one of my first battles with Red and Blue…" Silver said, quietly. He looked around. That was right, this was where he had fought that bee monster. But… why?
"Alright, suck it up!" Yabaiba ordered.
Vacuum Cleaner Org sucked the red cloud into his body, and then quickly retracted the weapon. He plugged the tube into the device, causing the mist inside to grow slightly redder.
"That's another one down, two more to go!" Yabaiba said, holding up four fingers. "Let's get out of here before these guys recover."
The vacuum monster sucked the device back up, and the two monsters bolted, leaving behind three very confused heroes.
"Once more, the hell?" Emily said as her armor retracted.
Max untransformed and continued to look around the room. "Why did that weird cloud have a fight inside it?" He asked himself, at that moment realizing how bizarre it was.
"Little help over here?"
The two turned to Henry, who had also untransformed, and was unfortunately starting to bleed out from his stab wounds.
"Oh god!" Max yelled as they rushed over to him.
"You alright, Horns?" Emily asked.
"Not really." The bull said. "I probably need to go to a hospital. They cut in deeper than I thought…"
"I've never seen Yabaiba like that." Max said as the two helped the bull to his feet. "And it was over something like that…"
"He said that this was a mission from 'the big guy'." Henry weakly said. "Probably… probably his boss…"
"I'm not liking this." Emily said as the three reached the SPD's truck. "We should call in Nick and Judy, they can probably help."
The two seated Henry in the back of the truck, as gently as they possibly could, which unfortunately wasn't very gentle. "Judy said that they were in the middle of something important." Max said. "And if she's saying that when there's a monster around, it must be pretty important."
"Yeah, usually she's pretty gung-ho when it comes to finding monsters." Emily stated as she started the truck.
As the three headed towards the nearest hospital, Silver couldn't stop thinking about how strange that entire thing was. He had no idea what was going on.
Long scoffed at the android. "All I see from your efforts is a floating fairy companion, not a beast worthy of my own powers."
"That was only the first step." Enter continued. "After I collected the remnants of Savage's body, I put him back together like this."
The floating canine skull snapped its jaws a few times. "Not gonna say it isn't a downgrade, but this is STILL only half the story!"
Enter continued. "You wouldn't know what happened next, being stuck in a wall, but the Zoorangers ended up getting their hands on a new transformation device."
"…They what!?"
"So, Finn, as it turns out…" Nick paused, and rubbed his paws together, the fennec shooting him a glare. He spent a few seconds trying to find a good way to ease him into the knowledge of being a Zooranger.
"You're a Zooranger now." Judy bluntly finished, a smug look on her face. She shot a quick look at Nick, telling him she definitely did that on purpose.
"Excuse me?" The fennec said, waving the device around. Suddenly, a grin crept across his muzzle. "Oh, I get it, this is some kind of prank, right?" He said, walking away, from the three, still carrying the Zoolizer.
"What? No it isn't-"
"Yeah, good attempt on you, Nick." Finnick interrupted. "Just because its been years since you pulled one on me doesn't mean I don't know how to read them."
"Finnick, seriously, this isn't a prank-"
"Yeah, yeah, yeah, 'not a prank, this is serious', you don't think I've heard that a hundred times from you?" He continued. "What, were you just expecting me to put this thing on my wrist," He said, quickly placing it against his left wrist. "Then what, snakes would pop out of it or-"
Suddenly, the wrist strap wrapped around his wrist, buckling it tightly.
"What the hell!?"
The Zoolizer started to glow, and there was a burst of yellow light throughout the entire house. It shined out the windows, like a star had exploded inside the house, strong enough that it was clear even in the broad daylight.
When it cleared, the four were all dazed by the light. Finnick rubbed his paws against his eyes, managing to get them to settle back to normal. "Oh, I got it, some kind of light show." He groaned. "You know I'm sensitive to light, Nick."
"We ALL ARE!" He shouted. The fennec noticed that all three were trying to steady their eyes as well.
"This isn't a prank, Finnick!" Judy shouted as she finished rubbing her eyes. "Look at your wrist!"
"What are you-" The fennec lifted his wrist up and looked at it. The device was directly attached to his wrist now, and had shrunken considerably in size to become more proportional with the rest of his arm. The design had changed as well, it now resembling somewhat of a fennec face with a nose-shaped button.
"Welcome to the Zoorangers." Nick groaned. "I was going to try and ease you into this, but Ms. Smartrabbit here decided to be clever."
"You're not exactly the kind of mammal who can 'ease' someone into something." Judy replied. "I just did what I had to, to speed things along."
"What, so I'm actually one of your super hero team guys now?" Finnick asked, in disbelief. "This isn't a prank?"
"No, this is very serious." Nick said. "We were going to ask if you actually wanted to join us first, but I guess its too late for that."
"Whaddya mean 'too late'?" he asked, starting to sound a bit panicked. That wasn't an emotional state Nick had heard Finnick in a lot. "Can't I just take this thing off?"
He started to tug at the device, and then tried to play with the strap, in a desperate attempt to get it off of his arm. "WHY ISN'T IT COMING OFF!?"
"They don't come off." Judy stated. "You need modifications to do that, and we don't have anyone here right now that can do that."
"So, I'm just stuck with this thing forever!?" He shouted.
"Looks like it!" She said, smugly.
"Judy, you're acting like a real jerk right now." Max whispered.
"Eh, guy deserves at least a bit of this." She replied, shrugging.
"You're scary sometimes."
"Alright, so, Finn." Nick started. He quickly grabbed the fennec by the shoulder, and moved him over to the couch. "Just sit down for a moment, and we can talk about all of this."
"Yeah, just relax for a bit." Max said.
The fennec nodded, and hopped up on the couch, laying down on it. Nick hopped up after, and was quickly followed by Judy. Max moved behind the couch, and looked over the back of it.
"We're going to have to tell you EXACTLY what's going on." Judy said, Nick nodding in agreement.
"This is slightly bigger than just us being super heroes." Nick started. "What we actually are now goes back a lot longer."
"Basically, we're sort of a branch off of another group of super heroes from an alternate universe." Max stated. "Well, actually a bunch of other super hero teams."
"Let me handle this." Nick said. He cleared his throat, and took a deep breath. "Basically, there's another universe where these superheroes called the Super Sentai protect the world from monsters, and a bunch of their past villains have been revived somehow, and we were tasked to become our own team in order to fight against them and protect the world."
Finnick turned to glare at him.
"Everything I said was completely true."
"Yeah, it is, sorry to drop all that on you at once." Judy said.
"I wasn't told any of this when I joined." Max said. "That's what a god told them when they met with him. You forgot to mention that, Nick."
"I left that part out on purpose, Max." Nick groaned.
"So…" Finnick said, sitting up. "I'm supposed to help you guys fight against monsters and protect the world, or whatever?"
"Yeah, pretty much." Judy said.
"What if I… don't want to?" The fennec asked. "What if I just want to go home and sleep?"
"Too late for that now, buddy." Nick said. "Like Carrots said, that thing doesn't come off once you put it on." He paused for a moment. "But if you REALLY don't want to do it, we can try and figure something out."
"Yeah, just give it one day." Max suggested. "If you don't want to, we can just not bug you about it after."
The fennec groaned. He wasn't getting out of this one without at least an attempt at this super hero thing. "Fine." He grunted, sitting up. "But I have no idea how to work this thing."
"We can guide you through that." Judy said. "Step one, if you want to transform into your superhero form, you need to say 'zoo on' and then press the button on your Zoolizer."
"The Zoolizer is the wrist thing." Nick continued.
"Alright, if I'm going to do this, might as well try it out." He groaned, before hopping off the couch. He walked towards the middle of the room, and placed his paw on the button. He hesitated for a moment. Did he really want to do this? Did he even have a choice at this point? The fennec gritted his teeth.
"Zoo on?"
He pressed the button in, causing two large ears to fold out from the Zoolizer, as well as causing the eyes to open up and light up a bright yellow. There was a flash of light, a lot weaker than the one before.
A second passed, and Finnick had transformed into ZooYellow.
His suit was nearly the same as the other Zooranger outfits, the same markings and such, but it was done in yellow rather than in blue, red, or silver. The suit even covered his puffy tail. The largest change was the helmet, specifically designed to fit around his head, and even covered his ears, still letting them move around.
"This is weird as shit." Yellow said as he moved around in the suit. "What is this stuff made out of?"
"We're, uh, not entirely sure." Nick answered.
"Indeed, they did, but thanks to a lot of clever planning from Kyuemon and I, we managed to, well…"
"We stole that thing right from under their noses!" Savage laughed. "And then… maybe it would be better to show him, right?"
"Oui." Enter said. He held up his wrist, revealing the Dark Zoolizer attached to it. "I corrupted it using Savage's own bio-energy, granting his power directly to me."
Long clutched his fist, attempting to stay collected. "And you really expect your technology to beat my ancient technique? Have you forgotten that I'm immortal!?"
"Who said I was here to fight?" Enter said with a laugh and a smile. "I'm merely here to brag to you about what I've accomplished. Didn't I tell you about how I defeated the Zoorangers utterly only a short while ago?"
A twinge of fear struck all three as it walked forwards. The figure stopped, and let out a small, familiar sounding laugh.
"...The hell are you?" Red asked, trying to hide the fear.
"Come now, you don't recognize your old enemies?" The figure said, before laughing again and placing his hand to his chin. "Though, I'm not surprised. None of you have seen me in my true form…"
"Don't mess around." Blue said, pointing one of her blades at the figure. "Tell us who you are, or else."
"You may call us…" The figure stepped back, and then took a bow.
"ZooDark."
"Zoo… Dark?" Silver said. "What are you, some kind of knockoff?"
"Non non non," ZooDark replied. The rabbit's nose twitched as he said this. "Knockoff implies a lower quality, I'd consider us an upgraded version."
"Upgraded? That's… incredibly arrogant of you to say." Red said. "Let's show this guy what arrogance gets you."
"Guys, I don't think that's a good idea." Blue said, starting to sound worried. "We should get out of here, NOW."
"Oh, come on, Carrots," Red started. "You're gonna have us run away from a random cosplaying loon?"
"The is making a good suggestion." ZooDark continued. "But, since you insist on a fight…"
ZooDark held his arms out, a sickly green aura covering him. Out of his back burst two, large, ghostly skeletal arms, armed with massive claws on animalistic paws. A ribcage and skull then followed. The skull was distinctly canine.
The skeletal ghost let out a maniacal laugh, causing the three to stumble back in fear and surprise. "Haven't seen you three in a while!" It said, in a familiar, slimy voice. "Surprised to see me?"
"S-Savage." Red muttered. "But… we destroyed you for good… didn't we?"
"Can't destroy something without a body." Savage explained. "My good friend, Enter here, gathered my remaining energy and brought me back to life."
"Enter!?" Silver shouted. "Wait, what? How did you-?"
Enter… ZooDark held up his wrist, shining the corrupted Zoolizer at the three. "Surprised? I got my hands on that device of yours, and figured out how to use it myself."
"And thanks to ME, we're even more powerful than the three of you will ever be!" Savage boasted.
"We've beaten you three times, we can take you a third." Red said. He felt like he was pushing it a bit, but he really didn't want to show how scared he was.
"Nick, stop." Blue said. "We need to get out of here, right now, and-"
Before she could finish, ZooDark suddenly rushed forwards, the spirit of the savage beast following behind him. He quickly slashed at the three as he seemingly phased through them. Savage copied his movements as he swung at them.
The Zoorangers froze for a moment, before a sudden eruption of flames burst from beneath them. They yelled in pain as the monster turned around. ZooDark let out a chuckle as he and Savage looked on. The flames dispersed, revealing the three, heavily damaged.
"What… what WAS that?" Silver said, weakly. "He just hit us so hard…"
"He's too strong." Blue said as she tried to get up. "We need to head out and figure out a plan…"
"Aw, running away so soon?" ZooDaark asked, feigning disappointment. "I guess this isn't any fun for you if you don't have a chance… how about I give you a free hit? All of you, give me your best!"
Red and Silver got back up to their feet, and readied their weapons. Red swung his staff around, while Silver shined his claws.
"Guys, don't this is obviously a set-up!" Blue said.
"We can't just let this guy run around, can we?" Red said.
"Yeah, we have to protect the city, fighting this guy is part of our job!" Silver followed. "And besides, one free shot is better than none!"
The two ran at ZooDark, who stood idly by. Red leaped in first, jumping up and sending his staff flying as he landed. It extended towards the dark ranger, but as soon as it hit, he vanished in a burst of dark smoke.
Red looked around for a moment, but in the second he had looked away, ZooDark reappeared in front of him. He now had a sword drawn, similar to the one that Enter had used before.
"You missed." The monster said, snidely. He quickly kicked the fox, with enough force to send him launching into the city's barrier. Red hit the wall, leaving a large cracked imprint in it. He fell to the ground, in horrible pain and unable to get up.
Silver let out a growl as he aimed his gun arm at dark ranger. He fired several shots, but ZooDark effortlessly slapped the shots away. They flew off, hitting parts of the field and the barrier. Silver then ran at him, preparing to strike with his claw.
As the wolf swung the oversized claw, ZooDark caught it in his hand. "Did you really think that would work?" The villain asked. "Didn't you see what happened to your friend?"
"I… uh…" Silver had no idea what to do.
"You are all so much weaker than I was hoping." ZooDark said, sounding a bit disappointed. "Shame, I'm barely putting in any effort."
The wolf growled, and attempted to punch at ZooDark with his gun arm. The dark ranger caught it, punctuated by a laugh.
"I think he wants to see full power!" Savage said, hovering above the two.
"Well, I can't just end this here, can I?" ZooDark replied. "I'll give you a taste test…"
The dark ranger's hands started to glow with an impossible black light. Silver attempted to pull himself away from him, but his grip was too strong.
"NO!"
Blue rushed forwards and performed a leaping kick. ZooDark quickly turned to her, and let go of Silver's paws. He quickly smacked her with the back of his hand, knocking her to the ground. He then turned back to Silver, and raised his hand, which still glowed with the black light.
The wolf's eyes widened.
The dark ranger fired a blast of energy from his hand, directly at Silver. The force of the blast charred the ground around him, and burned his entire body. The wolf started to breath heavily, before falling to the ground.
ZooDark turned to the rabbit, who was just recovering. "I think that's enough for today." He said, before walking off.
"What!?" Blue shouted. "You're just going to let us go!?"
"Well, now that I've tested this power, I can safely say I can destroy you all at any moment." He explained. "Might as well let your demises seep into you before I take the finishing blow."
"And don't worry," Savage started. "We WILL be back."
"Ciao!" ZooDark let out, with a quick wave. In a flash of black light, he vanished.
Blue stood silent for a moment, and then fell to her knees. She let out a yell as she pounded at the ground.
"Your bragging is starting to give me a migraine." Long growled. "Why don't you show me these supposed powers head on? Give me a welcome home present in your inevitable defeat."
Enter laughed again. "Very well, but just remember one thing."
"SAVAGE ON"
"This was your idea, monsieur."
"Hello?" The rabbit said as she stood up from the couch and walked off, away from the fox and their guest.
"Hey." Max said on the other side of the phone. "We might have a slight issue?"
"You found the monster and things went wrong?" Judy replied.
"Yeah, basically." The wolf said. "We got into a fight, and then Henry got injured… we're having a bit of a break at the hospital, and we haven't gotten any reports or alarms on the monsters yet…"
"Can you at least tell me who we're dealing with right now?" Judy asked. "If this is small scale, I can't imagine what'd give you that much trouble…"
"It was Yabaiba and a, uh… a vacuum cleaner monster." The wolf said. "It should have been easy to deal with, but Yabaiba seemed very, VERY serious about whatever they were doing."
"Okay, yeah, that is weird." Judy said. "…What WERE they doing anyway?"
"That's the other weird part." Max continued. "They were trying to collect this big cloud of… red." He explained, unsure how to describe what exactly they had seen. "But… for some reason, the cloud had us in it, fighting against that bee guy from months ago."
"You mean back when you first joined?" The rabbit said, confused. "And what do you mean by 'had us in it'?"
"Like, it was a video of us, fighting against the monster." Max said. "I really have no idea how else to describe it."
"Hm." Judy said. "You three keep track of whatever those two are doing, we're still in the middle of something important."
"We'll be more prepared next time, so don't worry about us." Max said, confidently.
The rabbit hung up her cellphone and headed back to the couch. "So, another call about the monsters?" Nick said as the rabbit sat back down and brushed her ears back.
"Yeah, Henry got hurt during a fight. Max said they could take the next fight, but I'm getting worried." She replied.
"Henry?" Jack said, tapping his digits against the encyclopedia's pages. "I thought there were only supposed to be three of you?"
"Oh, right!" Judy said, clapping her paws together. "We totally forgot to tell you about the Special Police Department!"
"SPD for short." Nick followed.
Jack relaxed a bit more into the carpet he was sitting on. "Sounds fascinating."
"Oh, seriously Jack?" Skye said over the ear piece, exasperated.
"So, it started when we got framed for a bunch of crimes we didn't commit…" The rabbit started. "That probably sounds a lot worse than it is."
"There were evil clones of us running around, and one of our villains managed to trick a bunch of mammals into thinking we murdered someone." Nick followed. "Also not as bad as it sounds."
"Hey, everyone!" Judy said, untransforming. "There's been a horrible misunderstanding."
"Yeah, Nick said, also untransforming. "That monster we just beat had the power to copy things, and the Zoorangers that were attacking you were evil clones."
"You know how ridiculous that sounds, right?" Max asked. Nick nodded.
"Maybe they're right." A moose in the crowd said. "They did just defeat the monster they were claiming to be working with before."
"See?" Judy said. "It was just an evil plot to make you all hate us!"
The crowd started murmuring amongst itself. Judy sighed in relief as it seemed that things were calming down.
"Do you actually TRUST THEM!?"
The crowd let out a gasp, and began to part. Walking through them was a tan cheetah, in a longcoat.
Enter.
He was bleeding from multiple places. Max froze up at the sight of him. "These monsters attacked me out of nowhere!" He yelled. "Then they turned on the ones they betrayed you for! Are you really going to believe traitors like them!?"
The crowd started murmuring again, this time in a much more negative way.
"We didn't-!" Judy tried to yell.
"Are you denying that you attacked me?" Enter asked, shooting a devilish grin at them. "Traitors and liars, the lot of them!"
No matter what they said, they would be in the wrong. The crowd had no idea that Enter was a monster, and if they explained, they'd be calling an injured mammal a monster.
It was a no-win scenario.
The cheetah spat out some blood, and his eyes rolled to the back of his. He fell to the snow, motionless. "Oh my god!" Someone from the crowd yelled.
A snow leopard rushed over to Enter, and held his paw. "There's no pulse, he's dead!" He shouted.
"You're awful!" Someone shouted. "How could you just kill that mammal for no reason!"
"We didn't…" Judy said, ears dropping. She started to back up. "We didn't kill him…" She whispered to herself.
The crowd started to part, until no one besides the disgraced Zoorangers and the corpse remained.
"So, the city probably hates us even more now." Nick said. "But look on the bright side, Enter's dead!"
"That's not much of a bright side, Nick." Max said.
There was sudden laughing from the body of Enter. The corpse rose back to its feet in an awkward, puppet like manner. All the wounds started to heal, and the cheetah opened his eyes.
"That went even better than I thought it would." He laughed. "I wasn't too overdramatic, was I?"
"How are you alive!?" Judy yelled.
"I'm just data, amoureux." He explained. "I edited myself to be more organic, and it fooled those idiots quite well, hmm?"
"Just wait until the police get here and find there isn't a body!" Nick growled.
"Oh, but they'll probably blame you for that." He said, shaking his head. "There's still the blood." There was indeed blood on the snow. "They'll just think you tried to cover up your crime."
"You're awful!" Max said. "We'll figure out a way to solve this, just you wait."
"I think not." Enter said. "There's no way for you to get out of this. You'll be criminals for the rest of your short, short lives. Ciao!" he gave a wave, and vanished into a burst of red data.
There was silence, only the sound of the wind blowing could be heard.
Judy let out an agonizing scream, and pounded the ground.
They lost.
"So, that got the secretary of defense mad at us, and using these medals that accidentally got brought over here from the other world, he made the SPD to try and capture us." The rabbit finished.
"Coincidentally, the guys they chose to be the SPD were all mammals I had a connection to." Nick said. "Including one that was…"
The fox sputtered, trying to find the right words to describe the monster that was Clawbick. He couldn't, not to the level that they would understand.
"He was a real jerk." Judy finished for him, and then she continued. "So, they chased us around the city as we tried to fight the monsters while being 'off the grid'."
"It all culminated in a battle against… just a lot of bad guys in a bunker under the city." Nick said. "Two of them, Emily and Henry, got a pardon to keep helping us after we saved the secretary's life, and now they help us fight against the monsters."
"Hm." Jack said. "This means nothing at the moment, but if you ever meet up with another IBI agent, don't tell them you went off the grid."
"I'm still making a record of this, you know." Skye said. "Want me to get rid of it, or…?"
"Keep it there." Jack whispered.
"Last stop!" Yabaiba said as he and Vacuum Cleaner Org walked into the middle of a barren field. The Duke Org looked around for a moment, trying to find anything of note. "…There isn't anything here."
Vacuum Cleaner Org quickly spat the large device out of his mouth. It was nearly filled to the brim with the red energy. He quickly tapped on the top of the device, causing a red wave to fly out of it.
A red cloud still didn't appear.
Yabaiba quickly pulled out the list. "This is where we're definitely, absolutely supposed to be, so that last cloud thingy has to be here."
The two Orgs were startled as the roaring of an engine was heard. They looked over, and a few meters away was the SPD's massive truck. They watched as the three mammals hopped out of the truck.
"You really sure they're gonna be here?" Emily asked, a bit unsure.
"Going by what we saw, this place makes the most sense." Max replied.
"Alright, if you say so." The hyena said with a shrug. "Guess we just wait now?"
"I don't think we'll have to wait that long." Henry said, before pointing over at the two monsters.
The wolf and hyena looked over. Emily's jaw dropped slightly, while Max's ears perked up. "See?" He started. "Told you they would be here!"
Yabaiba started to stomp over towards the three, who quickly transformed and drew their weapons. "What the hell are you assholes doing, stalking us!?" Yabaiba yelled. "Can't you just let me go about my job in peace!?"
"Absolutely not!" Silver said. "Whatever you're planning on doing with that… stuff… is probably something we need to stop!"
"Hey, boss!" The vacuum cleaner monster yelled. "The thing just showed up, right over there!"
The four looked over to see a similar red cloud as the last time slowly materializing before their eyes. Yabaiba quickly turned back. "Well, get over here and suck it up!"
"The only thing you're gonna suck is our-" Silver started, before being smacked by Pink.
"Shut it."
"I don't have time for this!" Yabaiba growled. He pulled out a large shell, and quickly thrust it into the air. A large blob of sludge flew from it, before it suddenly turned into two dozen Orgettes. "Distract them for a bit, alright!?"
The Org quickly ran off to grab his compatriot, leaving the green ogre monsters slapping at their slimy bodies.
"Let's get this over with fast." Pink said, readying her blaster.
Her and Green quickly unloaded their weapons on the Orgettes, causing a chunk of them to fly off. Silver then ran in and kicked at one of the footsoldiers, before turning around and slicing through two of them with his blade, reducing them to sludge on the ground.
Green rushed in next and knocked some more of the Orgettes away with his horns, before firing on the same batch with his cannon, instantly destroying them. Pink simply unloaded rapid-fire shots at several of the monsters, defeating them quickly.
Silver quickly switched his blade to Moon Mode, before lashing it at the small remaining amount of Orgettes. The whip wrapped around them, and the wolf quickly lifted them into the air and twirled them around, before slamming them back into the ground.
"Alright, we're here!" Yabaiba said, now with Vacuum Cleaner Org at his side. He glanced around at the steaming piles of green goop on the grass. "Wow, you guys cleaned those up fast! But I bet you can't do the same to us!"
"Probably not, but we can try." Pink retorted.
The hyena quickly unloaded her shots at the two monsters but was surprised when the vacuum cleaner monster stepped directly into the line of fire. It opened its mouth wide and sucked the lasers into its stomach.
"Have a taste!" The monster yelled as it thrust its hose weapon forward. The lasers it had just absorbed got fired out, hitting the ground around Pink and sending her flying back in a large explosion of sparks.
The hyena crawled to her feet, before Green ran up and helped her. "Shoulda seen that one coming…" She mumbled to herself. She looked back to see Silver fighting against the monster… but Yabaiba had vanished.
Pink sprang from Green's grasp and looked over at the cloud. Yabaiba was there, holding the large storage device. She quickly readied her blaster and fired a few more shots. Yabaiba only quickly glanced as the shots flew and hit him, knocking the device, as well as the Duke Org himself, to the ground.
The hyena and bull ran up to the cloud and examined it for a moment. "You think up any theories on what this is?" Pink asked the bull.
"Best I can think up is some kind of… energy remnant." Green said. "That would explain what Max saw back there."
"Hey, hang on…" Pink said. "I think there's something…"
The two watched as an image started to appear from within the cloud.
Dorou grabbed onto the staff, and quickly pushed it off of him. He glanced up at the robot. "NO! My really cool mech! You ruined it!"
Blue leaped down, hitting Dorou in the face with her feet, knocking him to the ground. She jumped off, and landed next to Red.
"Nice work." Red complimented.
"Thank you." Blue said. "Why don't we keep that good work up and take care of this geek?"
"GEEK?!" Dorou yelled. "I'm a NERD, thank you very much! And I'm not out of this yet!"
He thrust his arms forwards, causing the robot to start shooting missiles. "I'll handle this." Red said. He started jabbing his pole forwards rapidly, striking every missile out of the sky, all of them exploding before they could touch the ground.
Suddenly, the missiles stopped.
"Huh?" Red muttered, turning back to the monster.
He seemed exactly as confused, thrusting his arms forwards, trying to get the mech to do something. "C'mon!" He said, trying it again. "Do something!"
"Hah, idiot!" Pink yelled from the other side of the room. "You used it too much, its gone muerta!"
"It's… it's out of fuel!?" Chaos Dorou said to itself. He turned around, seeing all five of the rangers standing there. "Oh, uh, hi?"
"You guys all ready?" Blue asked. The others nodded.
She dashed forwards first, performing an uppercut with her blades, launching the monster up into the air. Pink and Green followed up by shooting Dorou with their blasters, keeping him suspended in midair. Red and Silver were up next, and shot fireballs at him, keeping him in the air even longer.
Silver quickly jumped onto Green's cannon, who thrust it upwards, launching Silver into the air. Red leaped up next, both of them on each side of the airborne Dorou. They rapidly struck him with both their weapons, before slamming him down to the ground.
The ram monster bounced as he hit the ground, letting green bat him away with his massive gun. Blue quickly followed him as he flew through the air, and jumped up, kicking the monster before slashing it with her khopesh. He flew back to the group, but didn't make it before Red's staff extended, smacking him in the face and halting his momentum.
As Dorou recovered, he quickly found a whip wrapped around him. Silver quickly reeled him in, and flung him into the air. He fell towards Pink, who started to shoot him at near point-blank range. She shot him in several key locations, knocking all his horns off, and piercing through his armor, all while keeping him stunned in the air. She then placed both her guns together, and fired a larger blast, sending him flying again.
Red and Blue set their combined weapon up, and aimed it as Dorou flew towards them. They pointed it up, and fired the energy arrow directly through him. It pierced through his chest, instantly causing him to explode.
"That was that, uh…" Pink started, snapping her digits. "That was when we fought together with the Zoorangers the first time!"
Green thought for a moment. "If Max saw another fight with a monster in there… then that must mean that these are remnants from the fights that we've had, maybe even from the monsters themselves."
"Huh, you really think so?" Yabaiba asked.
"Its just a hypothesis, but it would make sense… even if just barely." Green continued.
There was silence for a moment. "Hey, what the hell!?" Pink shouted at the monster that was suddenly standing right next to them.
The Duke Org quickly drew his knives. "You ready to go? I'm not failing this mission, no matter what, so bring it on!"
Green quickly brought his cannon down directly onto the clown's head, causing him to drop his knives and stumble around in pain. Pink quickly ran up and pistol whipped him in the face, knocking Yabaiba back to the ground.
Meanwhile, Silver was still locking weapons with Vacuum Cleaner Org. "You really think you can blow me down!?" The monster taunted, before letting out a gust of air from his mouth, knocking the wolf away.
Silver shook his head. "Seriously? You could try a bit harder than that."
"I would, but I have a more important engagement!" The monster said. It quickly blew out another gust of air, strong enough to push it through the air. It flew towards the cloud, as well as Pink and Green.
The SPD Officers were quickly knocked to the side as Vacuum Cleaner Org rammed into them. The monster quickly climbed back to its feet and started to suck the cloud up through its mouth. The Org followed this by striking at the two as they attempted to get back up.
The monster headed towards the device, helping Yabaiba up along the way. He quickly jabbed the vacuum tube into the device, causing the red mist to be injected into its innards. The red became even thicker than before.
The monster quickly sucked up the device through its mouth, and then the two turned to face the defeated Zoorangers. "See you SUCKERS later!" The vacuum monster mocked.
"Yeah, we still have one more location to stop at, and there's no way you'll be able to stop us if this is the best you can do!" Yabaiba taunted. "Seeya!"
The two quickly turned into a pile of green ooze, which vanished in only a few moments.
"Damn it." Max said as he untransformed. "We got beaten by those guys twice, what are we supposed to do?"
"I dunno, maybe you can actually try and get Nick and Judy to come and help us." Emily said as her armor folded back into her belt.
"How am I supposed to get them to come fight if, you know, they can't!?" Max shouted at her. Both of them were getting frustrated, but luckily, Henry stepped in.
"Arguing about things we can't control won't help." The bull said. "We should focus on what we CAN do, which would be trying to stop the monsters from completing whatever they're doing with that energy."
"Right." Emily said with a sigh. "You should probably still call them up to let them know what's going on."
"Yeah, probably." Silver said as he got to his feet. "I'll try to think up where they'll go next while I'm doing that."
"Where in the city could they actually go?" Emily whispered to Henry. The bull just shrugged.
"Probably be pretty hard to find."
"Let's see, what else is there to ask you about…" Jack asked as he tapped his digit against the book. "I suppose it would be important to get some info on the… criminals, that you've been fighting."
"Monsters." Judy said. "They're just monsters. Calling them criminals would imply they have a reason to want to destroy the city."
"Well, the stupider ones might just be criminals." Nick said, speaking as a formal criminal himself. "But some of them are smart enough that they know they're just being assholes."
"Tell me about them." Jack said, flatly. "I've noticed some interesting pictures of what look like these monsters in this book."
"Well, okay." The rabbit said. "First, there's this guy named Sambash. He's a biker… insect… guy."
"Lately he's been stealing jewels from around the city." Nick continued. "No one's figured out why, but its probably not good. He's a real gun nut, and he has a flying motorcycle, too."
"Out of the guys we've fought, he's not the most dangerous." Judy said. "But he'se definitely more motivated than you would expect."
"Then there's Yabaiba." The fox said, rubbing his forehead in frustrated. "He's a jester guy with a horn, and he might be one of the biggest idiots I've met."
"On the danger scale, I'd call him the… least harmful." Judy followed. "But that doesn't mean his plans aren't dangerous, just… stupid."
"A mammal of… below average intellect, but with great power can be deadly." Jack said. "I'd recommend not taking something like that so lightly the next time you face him."
"You're telling us, he's been running around causing trouble all day while you've had us locked up in here." Nick grumbled.
"Long." Judy started, her voice getting more serious. "He's an immortal dragon warrior, who's probably our second deadliest foe at this point. He's cunning, and nearly destroyed the world on his own one time."
"He's also almost defeated us a few times, too." Nick said. "That whole business with the SPD we brought up before? Yeah, that was all because of him."
Jack continued to flip through the pages. "And what exactly do you mean by 'immortal'?" He said, without looking up from the book.
"We've destroyed him multiple times, but he just keeps coming back." The rabbit explained. She then thought of something for a moment. "…Maybe we should try and figure out a way to actually beat him before he shows up again."
Nick nodded. "We haven't seen him in… wow, a long while, now that I think about it." He said, the realization just dawning on him. "What'd you think happened to that walking torch?"
The rabbit shrugged in response.
"Yogostein, a robot who wants to pollute the planet." Judy continued. "He's smart, come up with a few plans that nearly beat us, but I wouldn't call him… clever."
"Oh yeah, he also comes from an alternate… universe… wavelength… thing." The fox finished for her.
"I thought all of these monsters were from an alternate reality?" Jack asked, breaking from the book to shoot Nick a suspicious glare.
"I think there's a difference between alternate timelines, and the alternate dimensions we're talking about?" Judy answered. "We actually fought two of Yogostein, one from the alternate timeline, and one from our timeline."
"We're the last mammals you want to explain this stuff to you." Nick said.
"Enter, probably our most dangerous foe right now." The rabbit continued. "He's a robot that disguises himself as a cheetah while he's causing trouble."
"We don't know what he looks like normally, though." The fox said. "But we do know that he's a real pain in the ass. He's the smartest of these guys by far, and he even managed to actually defeat us once."
"If he defeated you, shouldn't you both be dead?" Jack asked.
"More of just a general victory." Judy said. "He stole one of our transformation devices, the Zoolizers, from us, and started using it for himself."
"After what he showed he could do, we're honestly just lucky to be alive." Nick finished.
"Kyuemon is a fox ghost who has magical ninja powers." Nick started, waving his paws around dramatically. "Another smart one, managed to trick us for a good few months."
"More specifically, he used his ninja magic to disguise himself as a normal fox, and then made friends with us." Judy followed. "It… it went as well as you could expect from all that."
"Very poorly." Nick finished.
"Finally, there's this guy named…" Judy paused for a moment. "Oh, this is a bit awkward."
"What?" Nick asked, a bit confused. "What's awkward about sa-"
The fox stopped himself right there. "Oh, yeah, that's weird."
"What is?" Jack Savage asked, his ears seeming to perk with genuine curiosity.
"Well, we have a villain who, coincidence of coincidences, is named… uh… Savage." Judy said sheepishly, before shooting an apologetic smile.
Jack laughed. "Blame my ancestors for the name, I know the negative connotations that come with it." He said. "I was around during the pred scare, you know."
"Well, this Savage is a malefic embodiment of our world's pent-up violent tendencies who wants to kill everyone. He started taking over our bodies and then got a body of his own." Nick explained. "And he's not a thing in the other timeline, he's from here."
"He's NOT the kinda guy you wanna get involved with." Judy said. "Unfortunately, we kinda have to since he teamed up with one of the other villains."
"Yeah, he's half the reason why Enter is such a big threat right now." Nick said.
"All of these villains are under the sway of one big, bad boss." Nick said. "The only thing we know about him is that he's named The Omnipotence, and that he's strong enough to raise the dead and break barriers in universes."
"In other words, basically the biggest deal we're going to have to deal with." Judy said. As she finished, she realized how terrifying the thought of fighting something with that much power is. She quickly shook it off.
The wind stirred through the trees of the forest. Insects chirped peacefully as the suns hone through the small patches between the leaves. A nearby creek flowed down a rock, giving this small patch of the forest and incredibly serene feel.
In the middle of all this stood a figure clad almost entirely in black. His red glare gazed around, looking for something.
"Now where did you run off to…"
Suddenly, a rain of arrows made of flame flew from above. Hundreds of them fell, reducing the small section of the forest the figure was standing in to barren ground in only an instant. A fire hadn't even started, everything that was there was suddenly replaced by ash.
Expect for the figure.
It brushed off some soot from its outfit. "You really thought that would work." He said as he looked towards a golden figure slowly approaching from a remaining part of the forest.
"I thought I'd make our battleground a bit more even." Long said as he approached ZooDark. "Maybe then you'll have a real fighting chance."
"Hah, you say that like we haven't been kicking your ass for the last half hour!" Savage's voice snapped.
"I've just been toying with you." Long snapped. "There is no being in this world that can beat me in a fight, and you know it."
ZooDark let out a small chuckle in response.
He then darted at the armored dragon warrior, attempting to punch him. Long quickly blocked the attack and followed up with his own. In turn, ZooDark blocked that blow. The two quickly threw punches and kicks at each other, both parties blocking each other's strikes.
"Don't you think this is getting a bit tired?" Long growled as he quickly threw the Dark Ranger into an armlock.
"Oui." ZooDark responded. Neither of them seemed to have grown tired after their minutes long, non-stop bout of fisticuffs. "Which is why I'm going to mix things up a bit…"
Suddenly, a large sickly green skeletal arm came from behind wrapped itself around Long's neck. Another arm grabbed onto one of Long's arms, effortlessly pulling it from its clutch around ZooDark's own arm.
"What-?"
"Surprise!" Savage cackled.
The android pulled his own arm out from the loose grasp that was left, and elbowed Long in the stomach, pushing him away. Savage pulled Long back, and then pushed him forwards. "How in the world are you doing this?!" Long yelled, completely confused.
"You've been thinking about this all wrong." ZooDark said. "You've been assuming that I was like you, and just using Savage to power myself."
ZooDark quickly spawned his rapier, and leaped forward, slashing at the Infinite Dragon. He stumbled forward directly into the shadowy figure of Savage. "I've been waiting for this for a while." It said, barely containing its cackling.
The beast started to maul Long, striking him over and over. "Your assumptions would be completely wrong." ZooDark continued. "I am not using Savage as a power; the power is both ours. We are both ZooDark."
Savage let out a howl a few minutes later, once he had decided that he had mauled the armored dragon well enough. "I bet you couldn't STAND that!" Savage laughed as he retracted back into ZooDark's body.
Long crawled up to his knees, panting. He clutched his hands tight enough that they would break. He then relaxed and started to laugh. "So, what are you going to do now?" He asked as he got back up. "I still can't be destroyed, even if you're more powerful than me. You still lose this fight in the long run."
"Again, you're assuming something completely incorrect." Enter said as his armor vanished in a burst of darkness. "I've done exactly what I came here to do."
Long glared back at the android, his visor burning brighter than before.
"I came here to show you just how much better my partner and I are than you." Enter continued. "Why would I want to destroy you when I can leave you wallowing in your own pity instead?"
Enter started to walk off. Without looking, he held up his hand and said "Adieu".
Long was left alone in the scorched field.
The jackrabbit continued to flip through the large book. "So, you said that you gained these abilities, and all this knowledge, from beings from this other timeline, correct?" Jack asked as he looked up at the rabbit and fox.
"Yep, we certainly did say that." Nick said.
"Well, that must mean that you've met someone from there, correct?" Jack continued.
"Yeah, we've actually met a whole bunch!" Judy said. "We've met…" She quickly counted on her paws. "Eight different members from different Super Sentai teams."
"Eight?" Nick said, thinking for a moment. "I thought it was six?"
"Don't you remember Gai and Beet?" Judy asked.
"Oh, geez, those were a long while ago." Nick said.
"Are you going to tell me about them?" Jack asked, starting to get visibly unamused.
"Oh, right, sorry." Judy said as the two straightened themselves out. "Well, with each Sentai member we met, we were actually given new weapons for ourselves, and pieces for our giant robot."
"Except for the first one we met, he was a space pirate who was there to help us get… adjusted." Nick said.
"Gai, GokaiSilver, from the team Gokaiger." The rabbit continued. "He's the one who made the encyclopedia you're reading!"
"A bit after that, we ran into another one." Nick continued. "A guy who was both a ninja, and a cowboy."
"Kinji from the Ninninger team, codenamed StarNinger." The rabbit followed up. "Don't ask us why a cowboy was on a team of ninjas, we don't have any answers for you there."
"He gave me a really big sword." Nick said. "I don't really know how I hold it, but it has a lot of power. I also got a buffalo robot from the deal, which can turn into a pair of guns for our mech. He helped us fight off a wolf monster"
"I can't find any mention of this team in this book." Jack said, eyeing the two.
"Yeah, for some reason it ends at Gokaiger." Judy said. "Gai probably had personal reasons for not finishing it."
"Maybe it was because he was in space." Nick responded.
"It took a while after that, but then we ran into Ryuji and Beet J. Stag, Blue Buster and Stag Buster, from the special ops team Go-Busters." Judy continued.
"Don't forget the weird ape truck." Nick said.
"I can't forget that." Judy said with a sigh. "But, uh, he helped us get out of a jam with a monster that could put us into virtual dreamscapes." She continued. "I got a pair of boxing gloves that let me bunch at light speed, and a big ape robot that lets our robot punch hard too."
"Hm, the encyclopedia has little information on that team." Jack said, looking at the Go-Busters section of the book. It had a few complete pages, and then abruptly trailed off into blank space. But still, it was enough information for him to get what he needed.
"Then, after that, we started getting invaded by monsters from another… what was it?" Nick asked.
"Some kind of dimensional wavelength, but not another timeline like the Sentai heroes came from." Judy continued. "We had some trouble with them, but then Saki, Go-On Yellow, came to help us fight them off."
"What exactly do you mean by 'dimensional wavelength'?" Jack asked, inquisitively. "I thought all these monsters came from another dimension?"
"We don't really get it ourselves." Judy said. "But they were from this world, but aren't at the same time?"
"Okay, we should probably move on from this before my head starts to hurt." Nick said.
"A while after that, we had to deal with being turned into monsters ourselves." Judy continued. "Not a fun experience, but we had a member of the Gekirangers, Ken, help us with it."
"Actually, I'm pretty sure it was his master that helped us with that." Nick retorted. "Apparently there ARE talking animals in the other world, they just aren't common."
"After a bit, we were on a missing mammal's case that lead us to more monsters." Nick started. "But that also got us the help of GaoRed, who helped us track the missing mammals down."
"His name was Kakeru and was apparently some kind of animal doctor." Judy followed. "Guess that doesn't make him very special here, but it definitely helped to have someone with his skills on the scene."
"Then, finally," Judy said with a relieved sigh. "We had GingaPink, named Saya, come and help us with a bunch of jewelry robberies."
"That happened, what, like last week?" Nick asked. "It was a short while ago, though it feels a lot longer than that…"
"Well, I must say," Jack started. "What I'm getting from your descriptions and this book is that this other universe seems to be an inconsistent and strange place."
"You're telling us." Nick replied. "This hasn't exactly been a normal year for us."
"This is the last spot!" Yabaiba said as he looked around the park. It had been orderly and well kept, but it had quickly filled with screaming citizens and panic as the two Orgs arrived on the scene. "Sure is a nice looking place." Yabaiba finished.
"Alright, let's set the thing up and move on before the Zoorangers get here!" Vacuum Cleaner Org started.
"Hey, I give the orders!" Yabaiba yelled, hitting the vacuum monster in the back of the head. "Now set the thing up and move on before the Zoorangers get here!"
"Yes, boss!" The Org said as it quickly spat out the egg-shaped device, which was nearly filled with the red clouds. The device fell to the ground, and Vacuum Cleaner Org tapped the top of it. A wave of red light flew from it, revealing a red cloud nearby.
And then another.
And another.
And even more of them.
In a few seconds the entire park was filled with the red clouds, each one showing a different fight with a monster from the past year. Their voices muffled each other in a cacophony of yelling.
"W-what is this!?" Yabaiba shouted, covering his ears. "Why are there so many of these things here!?"
"I wish I knew!" Vacuum Cleaner Org yelled back. "Lets get these things and get out of here before-"
"What the hell is going on here!?"
Silver and the SPD ran to the side of central park, watching as the red clouds filled up almost the entirety of the area. "There's so many of them!" Silver shouted.
"And they're all of monster you guys have fought, right?" Pink asked.
"I mean, that's what I was thinking those things were…" Silver started. "But we definitely never fought that many monsters in the park."
"Hmm." Green started. "Maybe the clouds are converging on this location for some reason, like a magnet?"
"What would they be attracted to in a park?" Pink asked, incredulous.
"Well, it is close to the center of the city, could be related to that." Silver suggested.
"Whatever, we still have monsters to take care of, so enough theorizing!" Pink snapped.
"Right, let's go deal with those two!" Silver finished.
The three quickly ran into the park and through the red clouds. Visions of past fights filled their minds as they ran through them, and the noises nearly deafened them. After what felt like an eternity of this, the three made it to a small clearing.
The clouds swirled around them, showing visages of monsters that they had fought before glaring down on them. In the middle of the small patch of grass were Yabaiba and the Vacuum Cleaner Org, who seemed to be in pain.
The three Rangers had headaches. "Ugh, wish we brought some earplugs…" Silver said, shaking his head. He spotted the monsters, and quickly drew his sword. "Alright, we're putting an end to this here and now!"
"Oh, great!" Yabaiba yelled as he turned to the Zoorangers, clearly frustrated. "Now we have to deal with these guys!"
"Yeah, we're not in the mood for this either." Pink growled through gritted teeth. The hyena pulled out her blaster and aimed it at the two monsters. She quickly fired a few shots, but the pounding noise made her aim unsteady, causing her to miss the Orgs.
"I think we're going to need to take more direct action." Green said. The bull quickly rushed forwards, Silver quickly following behind. Green quickly swung his cannon at the vacuum monster while it was distracted by its own pain, knocking it off to the side.
Silver followed up by slashing at Yabaiba, who quickly blocked the blow with two of his daggers. The Duke Org quickly pushed him back, and kicked the wolf in the shins, causing him to stumble.
"This is the absolute least ideal place I can think of to be fighting someone like you." Silver said.
"Yeah, I kinda agree on that." Yabaiba replied.
Pink ran over to Green and the other monster and pointed her gun towards the grounded monster. "Alright, time for you to suck it up and give in." The hyena growled. "This has been a really long day, and I'd like to go home."
The monster quickly swung its hose at the hyena's legs, causing her to trip. It quickly scrambled to its feet as Green attempted to bring his cannon down on it. "No, I'm not giving up on the boss yet!" The monster said. "I have a job to do!"
It quickly turned to green and let out a powerful burst of air, launching the bull to the ground. The Org then started to suck in the red clouds, the air slightly thinning in response.
"Crap!" Silver yelled as he spotted the monster. He quickly stepped out of the way as Yabaiba attempted to strike at him, causing the Duke Org to miss and fall onto his face. The wolf quickly spun the guard of his blade, switching it to Sun Mode.
He quickly thrust the blade forward, firing a fireball which struck Vacuum Cleaner Org in the back and caused him to stumble. The monster's suction stopped, but all the mist he had collected resulted in the cloud being less thick.
"Alright, now this is more like it!" Silver said as he turned back to Yabaiba, who was just getting up from his trip.
"Gah, this isn't going well." Yabaiba grumbled.
"Don't worry, boss, I got it!" The vacuum monster shouted. He started to vacuum up more of the cloud.
"Oh, come on, doesn't this guy know when to quit!?" Pink shouted.
"Guess we just have to knock him down again." Green sighed. The bull and hyena rushed forward, preparing to strike the monster with their weapons…
"Not so fast!" Yabaiba said, pulling out a large shell full of slime. He quickly threw it forward, causing the slime to fly directly over his Org minion. The slime transformed into a few Orgettes, who surrounded the vacuum cleaner.
"Oh, great." Pink grumbled.
The two started to fight through the Orgettes, while Silver made a rush for Yabaiba. As they fought, the cloud got thinner and thinner.
"Shit, we're running out of time!" Silver yelled as Yabaiba blocked a sword strike with his knife.
"Hah, I'm actually going to win for once!" Yabaiba said, before giving Silver a swift kick to the stomach. "Maybe I should change my name to Sugoiba!"
Pink and Green both dealt with the last of the Orgettes, Green eviscerating two with a swing of his cannon, and Pink blasting a few holes into a few more. They then turned to the monster, preparing to take him down.
Silver tried to get back up, but Yabaiba quickly slammed his foot down on his back. "You guys are too late!" He said. "The sky has already cleared; Vacuum Cleaner Org has collected all of the mist stuff!"
Pink and Green looked around. The monster was right, all the mist had vanished, and all that was left was a dark sky.
"And that was enough of a distraction to let me do this!"
The two leaked at where the monster was standing previously, only to see that he was now holding the mist-filled pod in his arm. He quickly plugged his hose into the device, the mist flowing into the pod, causing the splotchy red inside to even out into a full dark red color.
Yabaiba quickly skipped over to the vacuum monster and slapped him on the back. "Alright, losers, we've done what we've set out to do, time for us to go!"
"No, you don't!' Silver gasped as he got up. He thrust his sword, firing a fireball from it. Pink and Green also fired blasts from their weapons at the two monsters.
Yabaiba gave a quick hand wave as the two melted into goo seconds before the projectiles collided with them. The blasts all hit each other, creating a large explosion that left a small crater in the ground.
"Shit." Max let out as the three untransformed.
"I guessing good things aren't going to happen now, right?" Emily said as she walked over to Max.
The wolf shrugged in response. "I'm gonna call up Nick and Judy, maybe they're done with their thing."
As Max started to dial, Henry spotted something out of the corner of his eye. In the crater the three had created, there was a small black object jutting out from it. The bull hopped into the crater and kneeled to look at it.
It was a smooth, black, pyramid shaped object. It didn't seem to be made of stone, or any natural material. The bull grabbed it with his hooves and tried to pull it out, but was unable to pull it out, like it was stuck to something.
"Hm."
The hyena quickly spotted Henry sitting in the crater. "Whatcha lookin' at, Horns?" Emily asked.
"I'll tell you later." Henry said.
"I think I've heard enough so far." Jack said as he stood up and straightened his suit.
Judy let out a sigh of relief. "Great, that means we can go and help our team, right?"
"Hang on just a second," Nick started as he got up from the couch. "We don't even know what Stripes here is even grilling us on. Why should we let him leave when he could get us into trouble tomorrow?"
"I promise you that I will not get either of you into any 'trouble'." Jack said, a bit annoyed. He then let out a sigh. "But I've kept you from doing your job long enough, so I may as well fill you in on what I was here for."
"Jack, that's classified information!" Sky whisper yelled. "You can't just tell them about something like that, they're basically civilians!"
Before Jack could even start, Judy's phone started to ring. She quickly answered it. "What's the situation, Max?" She asked.
"Well, you know that monster I said we'd take care of?" The wolf said, sheepishly.
"You couldn't beat him, and he got away." Nick interrupted, shooting a sly grin that only the animals in the room could see. Judy shot him a frown in response.
"Basically, yeah." Max sighed. "I'm not sure, but things might be worse than we thought it was."
"Do you have any info?" Judy asked. "Possible plans, possible future attack spots, anything?"
"We might have something to go off of." Max continued, started to rub his temples. "Well, every place we've gone to has had this… mist, and it's been… the mist has some sort of connection to the monsters we've defeated, it shows our fights with them when you look at them. There was a LOT of it, and I'm still having a bit of a headache from it."
"That's… definitely bizarre." Judy said.
"Wait, we've never seen any red mist before, if there was a lot of it, where did it come from?" Nick asked, a bit confused.
"Yabaiba and the monster had this device that could make it visible." Max said. And then the monster would suck it all up into his body, and then put it into the device."
"The monster sucked it up…?" Judy said, a bit concerned and confused. She glanced up at Nick, who was leaning over the couch, anticipating something.
"Yeah, it was a vacuum monster-"
The fox burst out laughing. "You guys got beaten by a vacuum cleaner!? That SUCKS!" He fell over onto his back and continued laughing.
"Seriously, Nick?" Judy said, glaring at him.
"I see you two take your job very seriously." Jack said.
Nick stopped laughing and frowned, before sitting back up on the couch and crossing his arms.
"Don't worry, we made a few vacuum jokes." Max said. "We don't know what the device is, or what the mist is, so we're at a bit of a loss at what to do next."
"I'm gonna say it's a bomb." Emily said as she leaned into the camera. "Why else would they be collecting weird gas?"
"Considering we were able to safely breathe it, I really doubt it's a toxic chemical." Henry said from off camera. "A bomb would barely do any damage and just release it all again, maybe even destroy some of the mist as well."
"So, yeah." The wolf finished. "We're kinda stuck right now, and we really need you two to come and work out a plan with us."
"We just finished what we were doing, just about to head out now." Judy said. "I'm sorry we weren't there to help."
"Its fine," Max said.
"If this turns out to have been really dangerous then its NOT fine!" Emily shouted.
"…Just hurry up."
Max hung up the phone, and Judy put it into her pocket. "Sorry we have to run out on you Mr. Savage." She said. "Think you can see yourself out?"
"Honestly, the sooner I get out of this place the better." The striped rabbit said. "You don't exactly live in the most pleasant of areas."
"Alright then, we're outta here!" Nick said as he jumped over the back of the couch. "And if you steal anything, don't take it from the closet!" He finished as the two ran out.
Jack was left standing in the dingy apartment. "Well, that wasn't a lot of concrete information." Skye said. "Looks like we hit another dead end."
"Actually, we didn't." Jack said with a smile. "In fact, I'm about to get us our concrete evidence." Jack looked over at the book on the table.
"Jack? What are you doing?"
"BOOM!" Yabaiba shouted as him and Vacuum Cleaner Org entered the base, startling all of the present villains. He hung the full capsule of mist over his shoulder, and then plopped it on the ground in front of The Omnipotence.
"Guess who completed a mission?" Yabaiba said, pointing to himself with both of his thumbs. "I did! That's one for Yabaiba, zero for everyone else!"
"You don't need to rub it in." Sambash said from his seat, quickly tossing a bottle at Yabaiba. The bottle shattered as it hit the jester in the face.
"Besides, I'd at least put Kyuemon and Enter with a one." Yogostein said from the chair across Sambash's. "They actually helped do anything."
"Speak of the devil, and he shall arrive." Kyuemon said as he glared at the entrance.
Enter walked back in, the ghostly Savage following behind him. "Sorry for keeping you all waiting, we had some trash to take out!" Savage snarled.
Enter looked at Yabaiba, and for the first time in a while, showed any emotion on his face. "He completed the task?"
"Sure did!" Yabaiba said. He and vacuum Cleaner Org started to laugh, joyfully.
"Color me genuinely surprised." The android sighed as he sat down.
Yabaiba quickly turned back to the large cylinder. "HEY, BOSS! I GOT ALL THE STUFF YOU WANTED ME TO!"
The cylinder flicked on, sending a wave of power through the base. "EXCELLENT" The Omnipotence growled. "NOW PLACE IT DOWN"
Yabaiba did as he was told and placed the capsule on the ground. Quickly and suddenly, the ground around the device started to part away, folding in on itself. It left the capsule sitting on a platform surrounded by a pit that seemed to have no end.
The platform slowly started to sink into the void below it, and as soon as it left the threshold of the ground around it, the floor quickly returned. It folded out from the edges of the pit, and the end result looked like nothing had even happened.
Yabaiba worriedly touched his foot to the ground that had just appeared. It still seemed solid. "So, uh…" the Duke Org said, trying to regain composure. "What exactly was that mist you had me collecting?"
"THE KEY TO OUR VICTORY"
"That doesn't answer much." Vacuum Cleaner Org replied. Yabaiba quickly slapped him in the face.
"W-well, can you at least tell me why I was seeing all those monster fights in them?" Yabaiba asked.
"What are you talking about?" Yogostein asked.
"The clouds of mist I was collecting had little videos of our monsters fighting." Yabaiba explained. "I dunno what was with that."
The Omnipotence let out another boom of energy. "YOU WILL FIND OUT IN TIME" It vaguely answered. "BUT FOR NOW, DO NOT CONCERN YOURSELVES WITH IT"
Enter looked over at Kyuemon, who then looked back at the android. The glance was a knowing one.
"BUT THE PLAN IS NOT YET OVER" The Omnipotence continued. "NOW WE MUST MOVE ON TO THE NEXT"
The cylinder shot a bolt of pure Chaos Energy at Vacuum Cleaner Org, causing the monster to be blasted to the other side of the room.
The villains reacted in shock. "Why did you do that!?" Yabaiba screeched.
"THE ROLE MUST BE PLAYED"
The vacuum monster rose to its feet as it started to glow red. Its entire upper torso fused together into a large egg-shaped lump. The Chaos Emblem was emblazoned across the front of the lump. Three arms then burst from different sides of its body, arms that resembled large vacuum tubes, but more organic and veinier looking. At the end of each was a different style of vacuum attachment… or at least that's how it looked.
The arm that burst out from under the Chaos Emblem ended in a standard vacuum ending, looking like Vacuum Cleaner Org's original head. Though now it lacked the eyes, was greyer, had sharper teeth, and a thin grey tongue slithering out from it. The second arm, located left near the monster's back, ended with a round vacuum end. It resembled the mouth of a hagfish, lined with sharp teeth that pulsed and gnashed.
The last arm, on the right, ended on a tube-shaped attachment that tapered into what looked like a pair of human lips. The arms were overly long, dangling on the ground, and the ends looked for too large for them to even lift. Finally, the top of the monster's lump shaped body opened up, revealing a single eyeball. It glanced around as the three mouths let out a hellish and harmonious screech.
"WHAT THE FUCK!" Sambash yelled as he fell off his chair. "THE SHIT IS THAT THING!?"
The rest of the villains, including Enter and Kyuemon, reeled at the horrid thing that stood in front of them.
"BEHOLD THE TRUE EXTENT OF CHAOS ENERGY" The Omnipotence boomed. "I HAVE INFUSED IT WITH THE POWER OF MULTIPLE CHAOS BADGES, BOOSTING ITS POWER TO NEARLY AS STRONG AS ALL OF YOU"
"WHY did you do that, though!?" Yabaiba yelled. "We… we completed the mission! We did what you wanted!"
The monster let out another screech before it suddenly vanished in a burst of red light. Almost instantly, the screen on the table turned on, revealing that the monster had appeared in the middle of the city.
"You're sending that thing into the city without a plan or any help!?" Yogostein asked, confused. "That's a death sentence, there's no way it will survive the Zoorangers!"
The Omnipotence remained silent, almost as if it was glaring at the gathered villains, if it could. The light quickly flashed off, leaving the villains alone to watch.
Kyuemon stared at the screen in disbelief as he watched the monster swing at a nearby building with one of its arms, causing it to nearly collapse in the process. He then felt something tap him on the shoulder.
He looked over to see Savage, who started to whisper into his ear, as quiet as he could manage.
"Meet us in the city tonight. It's very important."
Savage then vanished. Kyuemon looked around and watched as Enter left the chamber.
The three mammals sat in the park for a bit, waiting for Nick and Judy to show up. Henry continued to examine the strange rock, while Max and Emily sat on a nearby bench. The three quickly picked up the sound of motorcycle engines.
They spotted Red and Blue, who pulled up to the park and quickly ran over. "Alright, we're here!" Blue said. "…And you guys aren't transformed."
"We haven't exactly had a reason to." Emily said.
"Well, have you managed to work anything out?" The rabbit asked.
"No, not really." Max said. "Like we said, Yabaiba and his monster said they completed their mission. They might not even show up again."
"I highly doubt that bozo would just end his plan there." Red said. "Guy isn't the sharpest horn in the crowd."
"Yeah, completing a mission and not doing anything after is too smart for him." Blue said.
"You're not exactly making us feel any better about losing to him." Max sighed.
"Oops!" Blue said, her ears shooting up. "Sorry!"
Suddenly, the three Zoolizers started to beep rapidly, faster and louder than they had before. "That's new!" Red shouted over the beeping.
"Told you they'd be back!" Blue said. "Now let's go check where the monster is attack-"
There was a sudden loud explosion behind the five mammals. They all looked back to see a swirling maelstrom of wind and rubble slowly approaching them. Several buildings had been completely carved up, sliced in half, and was now floating in a massive tornado.
"I think we know where the monster is." Silver said as he and the SPD Officers quickly transformed into their armored states.
"Don't tell me we have to go into that thing." Red said. Blue quickly opened her mouth to say something. "Rhetorical question."
The five started to run towards the tornado, but as soon as they did, the tornado itself stopped moving forward. The five stopped in response, confused at what it was doing. The tornado's torque suddenly got faster, before it suddenly halted. The force of the stop caused the rubble to fly forward – right towards the Zoorangers.
"LOOK OUT!" Blue shouted as the five quickly leaped out of the way of the flying remains of an office building. It crashed against the ground and flew forwards, breaking apart and scattering across the park.
Rubble continued to fly around the five as they attempted to make their way towards the monster. The five eventually met up in the middle of what remained of a torn apart building. The monster stood in the middle, motionlessly, its three arms draped across the ground.
"Is that the monster?" Red asked.
"Yeah, but it looks like it got upgraded." Silver said.
The monster twitched, causing the five to ready their weapons. Chaos Vacuum Cleaner Org's eye then burst open and gazed around rapidly, before settling on the Zoorangers. Its arms started to rise into the air awkwardly, like snakes. The three mouths then let out laughter at the same time, each one having a different pitched voice.
"'Kay, that's really creepy." Red said.
"It was not like this before." Emily replied.
The monster then started to quickly spin around, before launching at the five at high speeds. It struck all of them, launching them into different piles of rubble. The vacuum monster then stopped, and the three mouths started to inhale air, sucking up rocks and other bits laying on the ground.
The suction was powerful, and the five Rangers had to keep their footing in order to not get sucked in. Green and Pink, both several feet apart, pulled out their blasters and started to fire at the monster, but the tube mouth quickly opened up and gulped the blasts down.
The circular mouth then quickly fired the two blasts it had just absorbed out towards Silver, who was just getting up. Explosions erupted from below him as he was sent flying again.
Red and Blue quickly met up and leaped at the monster, attempting to bring their bladed weapons down onto its large eye. One of its arms quickly whipped around and smacked the two back to the ground.
"Alright, I can see why you guys were having trouble with this guy." Red sputtered.
"No, he really wasn't this strong before." Silver said.
"We can't give up yet," Blue started. "Let's give this thing all we've got!"
The monster let out another screech as its frontmost arm reached around and started to suck up some rubble. The rubble started to collect at the end of the mouth, until it formed a large ball of debris.
The monster quickly slammed the massive mace down at Blue, who barely leaped out of the way. She quickly pulled out her blasters and started to fire at the ball, causing chunks to fly off of it.
"We'll need to deal with these arms!" She ordered. "Red, you're with me, we'll take this one out."
"Gotcha."
"Silver, you deal with the round one!"
Silver readied his blade. "Alright."
"Emily, Henry, you deal with that pipe one!" Blue finished.
"Ugh, do we have to?" Pink groaned. "Its really damn gross."
"We don't have much of a choice, Em." Green said. The hyena groaned in response yet again.
The SPD Officers quickly readied themselves and headed for the large tube with lips. As they ran forward, the lips opened up, and out popped an organic looking barbed spear. The mouth aimed at Pink, and quickly fired the spear out. She dodged out of the way as the spear quickly shot right through the ground.
"Hey Horns!" She shouted as she aimed her blaster at the spear. "That thing will PROBABLY kill us if it hits!"
"Yeah, I can tell." The bull responded as he too aimed his gun, this time at the arm tube.
Both quickly fired. Pink's gunshot barely missed the spear, even from near point-blank range, as it quickly retracted faster than she could pull the trigger, dragging some of the debris along with it back into the mouth.
Green's shot, however, managed to hit the body moments after the spear had retracted. The mouth let out a high-pitched screech as the cannon blast hit, causing it to writhe around, lashing out and nearly hitting the two.
"I think we just made it angrier." Pink said.
Meanwhile with Silver, he prepped his blade as he and the circular mouth stood off. That was certainly not what the wolf had expected to be doing today, by any means.
The mouth then fell to the ground in the middle of their standoff, and then started to chomp into the stones and dirt. It quickly zoomed forward, leaving an empty trail behind it. It was eating up all of the dirt in front of it as it was heading towards Silver!
The wolf quickly leaped out of the way right before the mouth came near him, but it quickly swerved towards him again. He started to run, quickly sliding under the monster's limb as he curved in on it.
The mouth went right under the arm and continued after him, leaving the tube in a loop. As he ran, Silver quickly spun the blade's guard, turning it to Sun Mode. He quickly spun around and shot several fireballs from his blade, directly at the mouth chasing him.
The fireballs hit the ground around it, causing the mouth to recoil. The tube arm had been stretched out at this point, and this loss of concentration caused the mouth to loop around and crash into the ground where it had originally started eating from.
"Alright, just gotta shut that gob and-" Silver started as he prepared to finish off the monster. Unfortunately, he realized that the monster was quickly recovering, as its mouth was now back in the air.
It then quickly started to suck in air. The suction wasn't as strong as before, but as it inhaled, the monster's pulsing… lips… started to grow larger. Silver cocked his head to the side, confused about what was happening.
The mouth's lips started to pulsate and pucker for a moment, a visual that made Silver very uneasy. The wolf prepared for the worst but was no where near ready when the monster released the air from its mouth all at once.
It hit with what felt like the force of a sonic boom, sending Silver flying back at incredible speeds and punching him through a few nearby walls. When it was over, the wolf was laying in the middle of a pile of rubble in an abandoned office building – a few yards away from where he had started.
The wolf was paralyzed for a moment, stunned at what had happened. He slowly climbed to his feet and stumbled, attempting to shake the blow off. "Yeah, I definitely need to shut that thing up." He muttered as he shook his head. He quickly ran off the way he came, heading back for the monster.
Meanwhile, back with Red and Blue, the two were squaring off against the monster's third arm and mouth, still clinging a massive ball of dirt and rubble to its edge. The two jumped out of the way as the vacuum monster attempted to slam it down on them.
"We need to work on getting rid of that thing's weapon!" Blue ordered. "I think your cannon can get rid of that thing a lot faster than my blasters can!"
"Yeah, but you're going to need to distract him for a bit." Red said as he pulled out the Vickscannon. "I can't exactly jump around when I'm trying to aim this thing."
The rabbit nodded, before pulling out her daggers. She quickly leaped at the monster's arm and slashed at it. The arm writhed a bit, before attempting to slam down onto Blue. She backflipped out of the way as the massive wrecking ball hit the ground. In turn, Red aimed his cannon, and fired a shot from it.
The blast struck the orb of debris, causing a large chunk of it to be taken out, leaving it with a slight crescent indent. "Alright, just need to do that a few more times and we're good!" Red said, giving a quick glance over to his partner.
She nodded back before going in for another swipe at the monster. However, it quickly reeled back instead, causing blue to stop in her tracks for a moment, briefly hesitating. Unfortunately, this bit of hesitation was enough for the monster to react.
It quickly spat the ball forward, directly at the rabbit. In a moment of adrenaline, Red quickly shot at the ball several times with his cannon, causing it to explode into rubble. While the boulder hadn't hit Blue, the explosion had, and she was sent flying towards a beam that was stuck in the ground.
"Sorry!" Red shouted as the rabbit got back to her feet.
"Well, at least we got that taken care of quickly." Blue said to herself. "Now we just need to find a way to beat this thing for good."
Blue quickly pulled out a pink ZooTag and slid it quickly into her Zoolizer.
"GING GALACTA!
REACH FOR THE STARS!
LEGENDARY HERO!
GALACTIC CLAW WHIP!"
The whip weapon appeared in Blue's paws. She twirled it around for a moment, preparing to attack the monster's large arm. It let out a loud roar in response, before jutting forward, attempting to slam into the rabbit.
She quickly leaped out of the way, and grouped back up with Red. "Got any ideas for this?" Red asked as the two watched the arm raise back up into the air and turn towards them. It let out another roar in response.
"It's a vacuum, we need to cut off its ventilation." The rabbit said.
"Squeeze the tube, got it." Red replied.
"I'm going to try and use this to do that," She started. "But we need to keep it distracted too, so it doesn't realize what I'm doing."
"Yeah, yeah, I get it." Red sighed. "I'll be the bait while you get your plan started."
Red pulled out his sword, preparing to attack the monster, but paused. "Wait, this guy has three mouths, what's cutting one off going to even do?"
"That… is a very fair point." Blue said.
As the two contemplated this, the monster let out another roar, before it crashed right into them. They only barely managed to dodge and got sent flying about, crashing into the ground several feet apart from each other.
A safe distance away, a striped rabbit was watching all of this happen. Jack, who was now carrying a large duffel bag behind him, had just happened to be passing through the park on his way to the train station when he got a glimpse of the Zoorangers and the monster.
"It doesn't seem like they're having the best of times with this one." Jack said. "Certainly a lot less impressive than they made it all sound."
"Cut them some slack," Skye started. "They haven't even fought the guy yet because of you, of course they're having trouble. Imagine if I asked you to give your life story to me while you were in the middle of a case."
Jack chuckled in response.
"You know the train is leaving soon, right?" Skye asked. "You should probably hurry to the station before you're late. Higher-ups are gonna get mad if you do that again."
"I think I'm going to… stay for a bit." Jack said as he put the bag down and sat on it. "Might be helpful in the future." He finished.
"Future…?" Skye said before sighing loudly. "Alright, whatever, but if you miss the train just know that we can never work together again."
Jack chuckled in response.
Back with the Zoorangers, everyone had gotten back to fighting the monster's heads. Blue quickly dodged another lunge from the head Red and her were facing, before she started to speak into her helmet's microphone. "Listen, I have a plan." The rabbit started.
"Well, get on with it!" Red said as he leaped away from a follow up lunge. "We're kind of getting our butts kicked!"
"Silver, Emily, Henry, I need you three to try and close this thing's tubes." Blue quickly said. "Do that, and Red and I will finish this guy off."
"Close the tube?" Silver said to himself. "Alright, that should be easy enough." He quickly spun the guard of his blade around, switching it to Moon Mode.
The wolf rushed forward and whipped his blade forward, lashing out the energy whip. He jumped out of the way of the vacuum monster's head as it attempted to strike at him, rolling as he hit the ground.
He threw the whip forward, causing it to wrap around the monster's tube neck. Silver slammed his foot into the gravel and pulled as hard as he could. The monster attempted to let out a screech, but it simply wheezed as the whip quickly closed the tube off. The mouth well to the ground, motionless.
"Alright, I got mine down!" Silver said into his communicator as he quickly slammed a foot down on the neck. He wasn't going to let this thing get back up.
Meanwhile, Pink and Green were still fighting against their arm. "Close the thing off?" Pink said as she fired a few blasts at the monster. "How are we supposed to do that?"
"I'll show you how." Green replied. He quickly glanced around, spotting a large pile of debris. The bull rushed over and grabbed a large chunk of concrete. Pink watched in amazement as the bull lifted it over his head with some struggle.
"Wow, you can do that?" Pink said, shocked.
"These suits increase our strength, remember?" Green grunted in response. "And I'm already really strong."
With another grunt, the bull tossed the massive slab of concrete at the monster's arm-neck. It prepared to smash the tossed debris but was quickly distracted as Pink fired a few more shots at it. It hissed at her, right before the slab fell directly on the thing's arm, crushing it.
It let out a final wheeze. "We're done over here!" Pink said.
Back with Red and Blue, the two were still managing to hold out against their head. The head quickly stopped, however, as the body struggled to pull its arms back. The two finally had a breather.
"Alright, now we can finish this!" Blue said. She quickly placed the whip weapon on the ground and pulled out her two blasters. "We're gonna form the Zookaiser and finish this off!"
"But, wait…" Red interrupted. "Won't it just shoot it back at us again?"
"Just follow my lead."
The two quickly formed the large cannon and aimed it at the monster. They fired a shot directly at the Vacuum Org, and like Red had predicted, the mouth quickly swallowed the shot up.
"Alright!" Blue said, pumping her fist.
"What!?" Red replied.
Blue quickly leaped over to grab the whip she had left on the ground, causing Red, still carrying the Zookaiser, to tilt over and drop the gun to the ground. The rabbit rushed forward and lashed the whip at the monster's neck, causing it to wrap around.
The claw at the end of the whip dug into the tube, letting her easily pull back and choke the monster.
The blast continued through the throat and into the monster's main body, which started to radiate a red light. The vacuum attempted to let out a cry, but instead it came out as a wheeze.
It then promptly exploded, like a balloon being popped.
The three heads dropped to the ground, severed from the non-existent main body. They quickly vanished in a red light. A vacuum cleaner flew overhead, dropping to the ground and shattering.
"I can't believe that worked." Red sighed in relief, dropping to the ground. "Was it just me, or was that thing a lot stronger than some of the others?"
Silver, Pink, and Green ran up to meet with Blue and Red. "Everyone alright?" Blue asked.
"Yeah," Silver said. "Not excited to have to deal with that thing when it turns giant." He sighed.
On cue, the Chaos Badge left from the remnants flew out from the flames the monster had left behind… only it was quickly followed by a second one.
"…You guys saw that too, right?" Red asked. The others nodded.
"Ah shit."
The two red objects spun around each other, before bursting into a flash of light. The monster had reappeared on the city's horizon, completely restored, and let out a roar.
Red, Blue, and Silver quickly called on their mechs, forming into ZooRobo Brave Oh Kami. The mech stomped forward and drew its blade, prepping to strike the monster. In response, the Vacuum Org started to spin around quickly, turning into a small tornado. It quickly zipped past the mech several times, striking it each time.
As it attempted to zip by again, ZooRobo slashed at it with the sword. It connected and caused the monster to fall to the ground. It rolled across the field for a moment, before springing back up. The vacuum monster's arms then all flew out and struck at the robot, gnashing and wailing as sparks flew.
"Okay, we are NOT doing this again!" Red shouted.
In a swift motion, ZooRobo swung its blade right through the three arms, slicing them all off. The monster yelped in pain as the arms fell to the ground.
"Listen, we've had a long day," Red continued. "So, it'd be very polite of you to just be destroyed."
The monster roared in response, and started to charge towards the mech. ZooRobo swung its blade down in response, leaving a crescent shaped trail of energy, before the lion head on its chest opened up.
"FULL LUNAR ECLIPSE SOLAR STRIKE!"
The lion head fired a burst of red energy, which combined with the crescent and slammed directly into the monster. It roared one last time before it exploded, for good.
The three quickly landed back in the city and untransformed. "Well, glad that's finally done with." Nick said with a sigh.
"Yeah. We should probably be heading back to the apartment." Judy said to him. The fox gave a quick nod.
"God, are you two still doing whatever it was that kept you from helping us?" Emily said, frustrated.
"Listen, what else are we supposed to do when a secret government agent knocks on our door?" Nick responded. "Besides, everything turned out fine!"
"Wait, you guys were busy talking to a secret agent?" Max said with a bit of a laugh. "Seriously?"
"Yeah, and hopefully he's gone by now." Judy said. She quickly looked up at her teammates. "So, any ideas about what just happened?"
"Absolutely not." Nick responded.
Max shook his head. "The red clouds, the super powerful monster, two of those red things instead of just one…"
"It seems to me like the enemy is getting serious." Henry interjected. "I have a bad feeling about everything that just happened."
"Well, I say that we should take this moment to relax." Nick said.
"I have a feeling it might be our last chance to for a while."
The train creaked as it started to wheel down the tracks. The striped rabbit was sitting in the car by himself, looking at his phone.
"So, what evidence did you get?" Skye asked over the earpiece. "You said it was concrete, but I didn't get anything from that conversation."
"But you weren't there." Jack replied. "Everything I needed from them was in that book. Sending the email to you now."
Skye audibly clicked the mouse of her computer a few times. "You took pictures of the book? How exactly are these supposed to help?"
"Just look at the first one."
"You're really not that good of a photographer, Stripes."
"Please, Skye, this is serious."
"Yeah, yeah, I know." The fox said with a laugh. There was a bit of silence from her for a moment. "Oh wow, I think you're on to something."
"Every picture of an object I found in that book matched up with one of the devices we've been finding around the world." Jack said. "The first picture has the same shape and symbol as the lighter, there's a number that match the phones we found…"
"What do you think it means?" Skye asked.
"Well, it definitely isn't a coincidence." Jack said. I can only assume that this crossing over with the alternate universe they described has something to do with it."
"So, what do we do?"
"They seem to be fairly preoccupied… and don't know anything about the devices." Jack said. "My plan is to keep collecting them and let the Zoorangers finish off this threat they're dealing with, then we can inform them."
"I agree with that plan, but the higher ups might not."
Jack shrugged in response.
"Why did you want to meet out here?" Kyuemon asked as he stepped towards Enter. The two were standing on a roof in the middle of the city.
"You know that he'll figure us out if we talk about it in the base." Enter replied. "It's best we keep this private for now."
Kyuemon nodded. "…I'm assuming you understand what those clouds Yabaiba was collecting were."
Enter sighed. "Unfortunately."
"Well, I'm a bit in the dark!" The floating skull Savage said, materializing from thin air. "Everything that happened today was just nonsense to me."
"Of course you didn't get it." Enter sighed. "The red clouds were the remnants of our own monsters. That's why all of them had their memories in them."
"For most of them, the spots were where the monster died." Kyuemon continued. "Why would The Omnipotence want these remnants?"
Savage's mouth flapped open before he was quickly interrupted by Kyuemon. "Rhetorical question. He's been using us since the start."
"The red clouds matched the color of this 'Chaos Energy' he talks about." Enter said. "I think that it may be residual Chaos Energy left behind by the monsters."
"Wait, so…" Savage said, thinking for a moment. "So, he wanted your monsters to be destroyed?"
"It certainly seems that way, with how he was acting like all this was important." Kyuemon answered.
"So, you know what we're going to do, oui?" Enter asked.
"Of course. Should we let the others in on the plan?" Kyuemon said.
"Most of them are idiots, and the one that isn't is less trustworthy than our 'glorious' leader." Enter replied.
Kyuemon let out an understanding, but for some reason disappointed, grunt.
"Oh, I know what we can do with 'em." Savage cackled.
"I think they'd act as GREAT distractions!"
Hey its been a year sorry for not posting anything.
Last year was kind of Rough for a lot of reasons, and also I was distracted by Smash Bros. for the entire year. But don't worry I'm going to be trying to update on a monthly basis now. Hopefully.
Guess it was serendipitous that the clip show episode is the one that happened after people stopped caring. It's here to help you all remember what happened.
Next time, a major character dies.
