Aro stood there with his phone beeping signifying the call ended. He couldn't have cared less. The guards were simply staring. They didn't mean to but what else were you to do when the impossible has happened. 'I found her Aro. My reason for living again.'

Aro thought of those words over and over. Then those thoughts morphed into those of his sister. The way he so mercilessly killed her to keep Marcus from leaving. Now here was another woman threatening their ways again. He couldn't imagine Marcus being able to form another mating bond. It was unheard of. His mind raced a mile a minute with thoughts of his own self hatred toward his guilt of murdering Didyme and trying to wrap his head around what could have possibly happened.

Caius came storming into the throne room being alerted by one of the guards. He took in the odd scene in front of him.
He noticed the annoying sounds coming from the phone, the wide eyed stares coming from the guards, but mostly he noticed that his brother appeared frozen in place. Frozen and not speaking for once.

"Aro what is the matter?" Caius asked but it sounded more like a demand.

Aro stood still unable to snap out of the vicious cycle in his mind. That is until Caius the ever patient man grabbed him by the arms and shook him.
"Aro!"

"Yes, brother what is it?" Aro asked slightly annoyed and relieved to be out of his own mind.

"That's what I want to know." Caius said.

"Oh. Well, Marcus called." Aro said finally stopping the annoying beeping. "Apparently they ran into some sort of trouble." Aro said now remembering.

"Do they need our help?" Caius asked wanting to know why that would freeze Aro.

"No, they took care of it. I still don't know what 'it' was. He said I wouldn't believe it unless he showed me. Then he." Aro stopped and didn't speak again for a minute.

"He what!" Caius said tired of his slow pace.

"He made a joke and laughed." Aro said letting the words sink in.

Caius just looked at him as if HE was joking. Then when he took in his seriousness he was taken aback. That hadn't happened in about 3000 years since Didymes death.

"Then he said he had found 'her', his reason for living again." Aro said still unable to think of what was going on.

"What?" Caius asked mostly to no one. Aro simple gave a nonchalant nod. They both stood there now.

The guards were still processing the information themselves. They couldn't wait to get the information out of Felix and Alec when they returned. Life in the castle would change forever.

Felix sat in the plane not really paying attention to anything. He wanted to ask Alec what the girl looked like and what the hell did he witness in Master Marcus since he couldn't turn. But since they weren't alone he couldn't really open his mouth.

"Alec." Marcus said getting Alec's full attention.

"Yes Master." Alec replied wishing he didn't know where this was going.

"You already know that she is important to me. This of course means that she is important to you." Marcus said as he slowly turned to gaze into his eyes.

"Yes Master." Oh fuck. Alec thought really not liking where this was going.

"Since you didn't mean to hurt her I will forgive this transgression of yours for injuring her. But if it ever happens again it WILL be the last mistake you ever make." Marcus said making it very clear Alec had dodged death by the fact that he hadn't known.

"Thank you Master. It won't happen again." Alec said thanking the gods he was allowed to live.

"When we arrive at the castle you two are to remain at my side until you are dismissed. No one is to know of what happened until we decided it." Marcus said giving the two guard members an order to keep their mouths shut.

"Yes Master." They both replied in unison knowing they were going to be pestered relentlessly until they said something. But it was better to be annoyed than burned for disobeying a direct order.

"Why would you take her hiking?" Charlie asked Jacob as he watched his daughter sleep. He hated to see her in the damn hospital and now that she was getting better now she was back to being injured.

"We were already planning on going so when she found out she said she wanted to tag along. I wasn't going to say no." Jacob said trying to defend himself. What else could he say? Don't blame me blame the vampire.

"Then knowing how she has no balance why the hell didn't you keep an eye on her?" Charlie demanded not letting this go.

"We were. It was two seconds and she fell a few feet down. We didn't think it was that bad." Jake said getting nowhere.

Charlie simply exasperated and rubbed his temples. He hated the fact that any little fall could break her already fragile body.

"Don't blame him. I wanted to go out. I hate being indoors now." Bella said as she woke up catching the last of their argument she didn't want Jake to be blamed for everything.

"Bells your awake." Charlie said flocking to his daughter's side ignoring her plea.

"Yup, the morphine is great. Don't feel a thing." Bella replied with a small smile.

"Good but don't get used to the stuff." Charlie said trying to make a joke.

"I won't." Bella said. She then turned to Jake. "Where's everybody else?"

"Sam and Paul are outside. Everyone else is back home waiting to see you. We didn't want to over crowd the hospital room." Jake smirked.

"Well tell them I'm fine. You heard the doctor. Nothing broken only sprained. Crutches and rest then I'll be back to normal." Bella said mostly for Charlie's sake.

"Only you could take this lightly." Charlie replied getting a call on his walkie. "I'll be right back Bells I have to take this."

Jacob and Bella wait for Charlie to leave to make sure they were alone.

"Guys." Bella said waiting for the other two to join them.

Sam and Paul walked in happy to see her awake.
"So are you really okay?" Paul asked wanting to triple check.

"Yes. I'm fine." Bella said getting tired of being asked the same thing over and over again.

"Good, now are you going to tell us what the hell that was?" Paul asked now in an annoyed voice.

"Do I have to?" Bella asked whining.

"Yes." This time Sam answered wanting to know what they had all witnessed.

Bella was about to speak again when Charlie walked back in.

"Nothing major. The doctor says you can leave in a few hours. Until then I am not moving." Charlie said as he parked his butt on the chair.

"Okay I guess I will try and get some more sleep. I'll see you guys later." Bella said to the guys knowing they couldn't talk now.

"Okay, we will see you soon." Sam said as he said his goodbyes.

"Goodbye Bella, don't fall off the bed." Paul said with a smirk getting a glare from Charlie.

"Bye Bells. I'll be by your place later to make sure your okay." Jake said as he hugged her goodbye.

The guys weren't really leaving her. They were going to hang out outside until they could follow her home. Those three creepy vamps could still come back and take care of her according to their 'laws'. None of the pack like what they witnessed and they would feel a lot better once Bella spilled the truth.

(Swan house that night.)

Jake had spent a little time with Bella when they had come home from the hospital. He helped carry her up the stairs and put her in bed. Jake told her he and Paul would be outside her house patrolling the woods just in case. He said he would come in when Charlie went to sleep to take her into the woods where Sam had decided to make an impromptu meeting ground.

(Middle of the night)

Jake tapped on the window slightly to make sure Bella was awake.

"Come in." Bella said as she sat up and watched Jake open her window and climb in.

"Are you ready?" Jake asked as he took in a disheveled looking Bella.

"I need a little help." Bella said as Jake picked her up and leaned her against the wall.

"Thank you. I could barely sit up." Bella said as she adjusted her clothes. "Can you get my shoes please?"

"Yeah." Jake said as he grabbed her nearest shoes and helped Bella put them on.

"So I'm guessing everyone is already waiting for me?" Bella asked as she dreaded the thought of having to go out the window in her condition.

"Yup, and they can't wait for you to explain what in the hell happened in the woods." Jake said while looking at Bella.

Bella groaned as she rallied her remaining courage. Jake took that as the okay to pick her up and begin making their way out of the house. Thankfully for Bella Paul was waiting for both of them outside. As Jake carefully went down the tree Paul was on the floor making sure Bella didn't get jostled.

"Well that was fun." Bella said as Jake held her in his arms and all three of them began making their way into the woods.

"What if my dad wakes up?" Bella asked.

"Don't worry. We aren't that far away. Besides we would be able to hear." Paul said reassuring her. Sure enough a few yards into the woods were the rest of the pack. Seth and Jared were shifted just in case.

"Bella." Sam nodded to her as he motioned for Jacob to place her on a log they had arranged just for her.
"Let's begin."

"I figured as much." Bella said as she made herself comfortable. "Well, the obvious thing to start with was that no, I never planned on telling you guys."

That got a rigid response from Sam and many not so happy looks from the pack. Bella raised her hands before they spoke.

"I swore not to say a word. And like you all witnessed if it means my life then that's the price I will pay. I would never betray a secret that could create so much chaos. Besides it would put all of you in more danger than you already place yourselves in. Not to mention the danger it places the imprints in." Bella said getting a mixed response now from the pack. They understood her predicament but they still didn't like it.

Bella became more comfortable in her 'chair' took a deep breath and recalled all of the things she tried to forget.
"When I was at their house I saw a painting that hung in Carlisle's office. It was beautiful and eerie. In the painting were three men and Carlisle in the background. Those men were Aro, Caius and Marcus Volturi. The three kings of the vampire world. I don't know much about them except that both Marcus and Aro are gifted. I don't know what Marcus gift is but Aro has the power to know everything about you with one touch. Your thoughts, your dreams, what you have heard and seen from the moment you were born or created. You cannot hide anything from him."

That bit of news got the pack on edge. The fact that there is a vampire walking the earth with such a power is a very big threat. They would make sure to never touch him.

"Alec and his sister Jane are their most feared warriors." Bella said before being interrupted.

"That little demon had to take you hostage. How is he any type of warrior?" Paul asked appalled that that little twerp had any skills at all.

"He has the power of sense deprivation. He can take away your ability to move, to see, hear, and speak. His power locks away your mind from your body. If the Volturi are feeling merciful then they will have Alec take away the sense of feeling on a vampire who is being executed." Bella said as she watched the reactions on the wolves' faces.

"His sister is the opposite. She only makes you feel pain. It has been described to be worse than the burning a human endures while changing into a vampire. She only allows you to feel the fire consuming you. There is no escape from it once you are in her powers control. They have destroyed covens and army's alone with their powers. They along with other gifted vampires in their guard make them unbeatable."

"There's nothing to stop them?" Sam asked.

"Not that I know of. Then again Edward only gave me a cursory overview of them." Bella said as she tried to make the feeling in the air go away.

"That still doesn't explain why his power didn't work." Paul asked.

"I don't know. Maybe he couldn't use it against all of you or maybe he thought he could get away but whatever the reason we could drive ourselves crazy trying to figure it out." Bella said hating how this conversation wasn't ending.

The pack stayed quiet for a moment. Their minds were racing with how badly they were screwed in case of an attack. Sam hated what Bella had just told him. A part of him wished they had killed the leeches but then again if the other two kings came and saw they had killed them then their entire pack and tribe would be slaughtered, including their imprints.

"At least for now our only contact with them has ended peacefully. But I don't think they will just leave Bella alone. She isn't a part of the pack on an official level and they could see her as a threat. So from now on you have to stay close Bella. We cannot protect you if you venture farther from Forks or La Push. Not to mention we still have the red head to worry about." Sam said.

Bella nodded after a few seconds. She had inadvertently tied her life to this place now. In a way she was okay with it. She did want to spend more time with Charlie and maybe she could make a difference here. She was just dreading the idea of running into the Cullen's again in her old age. It would be too cruel to see Edward unchanged when he changed her so much.

Sam noticed the change in her body language.

"Jake take her home. She shouldn't be losing rest right now." Sam told Jake

"Yeah." Jake said as he got up to take Bella.

"Good night guys." Bella said as Jake and Paul went to take her home.

When the house came into view the guys paused to make sure Charlie was sleeping.

"Is he still asleep?" Bella asked.

"Yeah." Paul replied.

"Are you guys still mad at me?" Bella asked wanting to know if they could forgive her.

Both Paul and Jake weren't sure of what to say.

"We aren't mad in a way. We understand why you didn't say anything. Had those guys never showed up we might have never needed to know. But since everything worked out fine I guess we can just move on." Jake said.

"Yeah but no more surprises. It was bad enough to learn you were nearly changed and we have to kill the red head. So no more vamp surprises." Paul said with a playful smirk to Bella.

She smiled in return and nodded in agreement. Jake and Paul both went up the tree with her this time since it was harder getting her up there. When they placed her in the bed and said goodnight, Bella watched them leave knowing someone would be watching over her that night and many more nights to come.

(Pisa International Airport in Italy)

Marcus, Felix and Alec had just arrived in Italy with only about an hour of night left before the dawn.
They decided against a car service since they could simply run to the castle and arrive much faster. They began their run after they knew they wouldn't be seen. The smell of home relieved Alec. He was anxious to see his sister again.

Felix wanted to show Master Aro and Master Caius all he had learned from watching the wolves. Master Caius would be harder to calm when the subject of wolves was heard. Especially if the girl was a part of them somehow. He didn't care he just wanted to go back and slaughter all of those wretched creatures and bring the girl to Master Marcus since she somehow makes him happy. For all he knew she would be his new mistress.

When they finally approached the castle they were immediately greeted by the guards. It seems the news of something big about to happen had spread. As they passed through the tunnels under the castle to enter the guards all made eye contact and some gestures of questioning to Felix and Alec. Both Felix and Alec knew this would just be the beginning of their questioning.

When they finally entered the main art of the castle Aro sent a guard to tell them he and Caius were waiting in Aros' study. It was fitting since each of their individual studies was soundproof. As soon as they arrived Aro greeted them with his widest and creepiest smile he has ever had.

"You have finally returned home. Brother how are you? I trust the guard took good care of you." Aro said as he tried to hug his brother. Marcus easily moved away quickly and then appeared in a chair with a slight smile.

"Honestly Aro you thought that would work?" Marcus said with slight amusement in his voice. Again Aro and Caius were befuddled. Seeing I was better than being told and now they had witnessed the change in their brother. He was almost like his old self.

"Yes well, you certainly can't blame me for trying." Aro said now getting closer to Felix and Alec.

"Wait Aro." Aro stopped with clear anger on his face. He wanted to know NOW. "I want you to see through Alecs thoughts first. Then Felix and lastly myself. Also Caius, I will tell you now that what we encountered were wolves." Without another word Caius roared.

"Wolves! Why didn't you call us? We should return and kill each and every single one of those wretched creatures." Caius said as he began to pace back and forth wanting to go and kill them himself.

"Calm down brother. It was the shifters Carlisle had encountered many decades ago." Marcus amended. Caius was still not calm.

"They are still like those wretched things. I don't know why we still allow them to live." Caius said as he sat in his chair trying to calm himself.

"Did the Cullen's not help you when you ran into those things?" Aro asked wanting to know why his old friend wouldn't have helped his brother.

"We never encountered them. I don't think they were living there when we arrived. Besides we were barely there a day before we had to get out of there." Marcus said.

"Very well." Aro said and then quickly motioned for Alec to come.

You could see the excitement practically bouncing off of Aro as Alec approached him. When he grabbed his hand all of his memories came to him. From the beginning of their journey as they made their way around the world to the moment Alec realized he had made a mistake. Then Aro saw the girl, he felt a pull to her. She was a mystery. Scared of all the wrong things and joking given her current situation. The shifters were eager to protect her. The leader seemed interesting enough. This pack was different to the previous. Not to mention the strange actions of his brother. Giving this girl a pass on the law that was clearly broken by someone of their kind and threatening Alec for hurting her. She knew of them. She was told of the Volturi and of him. Aro liked her. She had tenacity and bravery if she could hold a vampires gaze without another thought.

"Well that was interesting." Aro said as Caius looked at him like he was forgetting something. "Ah yes brother sorry that was a lot to process."

Aro retold what he had witnessed to Caius in great detail. Caius wasn't as interested in the girl as he was the wolves but the fact that she had brought out his old brother after 3000 years with one encounter and a precarious one at that it was noteworthy.

"Marcus when I saw her in Alecs thoughts I felt a strange pull to her. What was it?" Aro asked his brother who then searched his brothers bonds

Marcus again gave an ever so slight smile. "She will be important to you brother. Your bonds are not yet defined since you have only seen her in a memory.

"Yes." Aro said still amazed his brother was smiling.

Aro then motioned for Felix. He did the same and this time only got Felix's actions of protecting his king and memorizing everything he could about the wolves. A very good task to have since now his knowledge would greatly help them. He was fascinated by how they change and how the three wolves were close to the girl. Especially the last wolf to turn.

Aro again recalled everything to Caius and didn't miss a detail about the wolves. They got more information on them from Felix than they did Alec. Then again Alec had his hands full at that moment.

Aro looked at Marcus and extended his hand. Marcus rose from his chair and gave his brother his hand. Aro was taken to the first day of his departure and every thought was of Didyme. Marcus could only think of her. How every place would have been seen by her, how she would have loved to see the world. Then it all shifted when Felix came to Marcus with news of shifters in the area. When Marcus caught hold of the situation. He tried to diplomatically handle it and then when he gazed into the eyes of the girl for the first time. Aro could feel his brother's heart swell with emotions for the first time in millennia's. She was his reason for living now. Marcus had found his daughter. Aro could feel the pull to her strengthen. He had a niece out in the world. A beautiful girl that resembled his sister.

Aro stood there with his eyes wide open. Marcus had a slight smug smile on his face. Caius wanted to smack them both.

"ARO!" Caius yelled.

"Huh? Oh right brother." Aro said as he regained his wits. "Felix Alec you two are dismissed. Neither one of you is to repeat a single word of what happened. Everything else about your trip is fine except for the incident with the wolves." Aro said as he turned to Caius.

"Yes Master." Both Felix and Alec said and they left the study.

"Well?" Caius said wanting to know what the hell he saw.

"I have a daughter." Marcus finally said taking a seat.

Caius stared at Marcus wide eyed. A daughter? Caius thought.

"Yes, it appears the girl the wolves were protecting is our dear niece." Aro said to Caius.

"Well then, when shall we bring her here and change her?" Caius said as if it was the simplest thing in the world.

"We cannot simply take her. In her bonds I saw her birth parents still alive. I wouldn't take her from them just to keep her myself. I will not ruin the only shred of hope I have had in the last 3000 years." Marcus said getting angry that Caius would even suggest they simply take her from their home.

"Not to mention that she is being protected by wolves that she loves and as it seems one is in love with her." Aro said aloud even though he was mostly thinking to himself. He had a chance to give his brother a new life after taking his last. He would do anything he could to bring them together.

"Well we have to do something. Marcus cannot lose her and we cannot allow her to die as a mortal when we can give her the life of a princess as would be her right." Caius said surprising his brothers with his thoughtfulness of giving her full rights as a princess of the Volturi.

Caius rolled his eyes at their response. He wasn't a cold hearted monster as everyone thought. His wife could testify to that. But he had seen the way his brother suffered and he hoped he would die before he lost his dear Athenadora. Life without his mate would be hell. Now he had a chance to bring his brother some happiness and he would do anything to ensure it.

"I want her by my side but only if she wishes. She is in a fragile state as it is. She has seven broken bonds and one was a romantic bond that seemed to be too strong for humans. I suspect our old friend Carlisle may be involved. They are a coven of seven the last time we heard and the youngest could have caused her pain. Besides what other coven do we know that lives in that area that could have left a human alive with the knowledge of us." Marcus stated voicing his thoughts aloud for Caius since Aro already knew. More than likely hating the thought of his dear friend committing such an awful crime.

"I hope that isn't true brother." Aro said. Carlisle actually liked him. He didn't want to lose a true friend.

"Yes well we should be sure it was them before we make accusations. It would be easier to simply ask her but since we said we wouldn't return it makes it harder. We need a reason to go back. One that wouldn't be seen as intentional." Marcus said trying to think of a reason they could go back without it being seen as a tactic to see the girl again.

"We should give it time for now brothers. They will be keeping a close eye on her for the time being. Let's just see what happens. Besides all we need is any excuse to go there and if one doesn't present itself soon we will just create one." Caius said taking a seat.

"Good idea brother." Aro said.

"Yes, but I will not wait for long. I want my daughter with me here where she belongs." Marcus said.

Yes finally finished the second chapter. Hope it doesn't disappoint. Yes she is his daughter. Thun Thun Thun.
