Disclaimer: The Twilight book series and all recognizable characters and situations belong to Stephanie Meyer I don't own any of that. But I do so love her stage.

A\N: Sorry guys last chapters teaser will carryover until the next update. This update was simply becoming to long so I broke it into two smaller chapters. I am almost finished with the next update so it should be up sooner rather than later.

Chapter 32: Allies

Leah's Pov

I banged my hands on the tabletop and ground out, "Fine I'll go!"

Seth looked so hopeful I almost laughed, "Really?"

I ignored the voice in my head that said this is a bad idea, "Don't say I never did anything for you Seth."

Delta Allen tossed the cards he was collecting on the table and jumped up, "Alright."

They trampled over and pulled two large duffel bags from the entryway closet. I stood there watching them stupidly.

"Did you set me up?" I asked suspiciously.

"No," Delta Allen answered without hesitation.

"Well it wouldn't do you any good, because I'm running with Pack Bishop," I cautioned them firmly.

"That's your decision," Seth said headed out the door. "I'm going to bring the Jeep around."

I took time to change into jeans and a t-shirt, grabbed my duffel bag and went to join them.

Delta Allen was talking on his phone. I could hear Jacob's voice answering him in the background.

He hung up, "Alright we are driving out to the base. Alpha Black is at Sacred Crest quarters so I will drop you two off there."

I nodded, "Sounds good?"

"I suppose you're going to Emberspear?" Seth pouted.

Delta Allen frowned, "Sorry Sacred Crest is Pack Lightfoots official quarters. I can't stay there."

"What's this all about?" I asked.

"Korzka is at Emberspear, so that's where most of the excitement is. One of us has to stay with you. Unfortunately, Seth has to do it because I can't stay at Sacred Crest without an invitation." Delta Allen answered quietly.

I asked Seth, "Why can't you go? Collin and Mark will be with me."

"I know but we are ultimately responsible for you; so one of us stays with you. Before you say anything it's the same for Korzka. Either Beta Alexe or Delta Watts will be with him at all times this weekend," he replied.

I guess that made sense since Delta Allen is captain of my security detail and Seth is his second. I remembered Delta Watts Elijah's third as a rather serious mannered wolf.

Delta Allen said, "The original plan was for all of us to stay at Emberspear except Alpha Black. As representative for Pack Bishop he is obligated to stay with the Lightfoots."

Seth started to say something, but stopped and compressed his lips. He took a deep breath, "Leah I know it's a sensitive subject but It's just Henry and I."

I felt my lips twitch at him calling Delta Allen "Henry".

Seth continued, "We could all could stay at Emberspear, if you would compromise and talk to Korzka. Everyone who has been there says, Emberspear is a cool experience at this time of the year."

Delta Allen agreed, "Yea Emberspear is special during the National Pack Run. Every wolf should experience it at least once."

I sat my duffel bag down, "Seth every couple has their rough patches, and right now Elijah and I are in a big one."

"It doesn't have to be Leah. You two just need to communicate," he said quietly.

I tried to soften the blow, "No regardless of his intentions, Elijah still lied by omission. Lies are dangerous. They rip lives apart. You should know this Seth."

He looked like he wanted to speak but I was not finished, "Remember that whole debacle with Sam? Unnecessary secrets steal people we love away from us, like dad. You know this Seth."

My brother looked at me compassionately, "The difference is in the motive. Korzka always intended to come clean and he never meant to hurt you."

My anger started to stir back up, "Well he did hurt me. Not only that, but he made it so I can't trust either of you. Both of you knew the truth and didn't say anything. Why not? Why didn't either of you tell me?"

"Because we were asked not to," Seth replied quietly.

I just shook my head, "Exactly! But what about me? Did you ever consider how this would effect me?"

Seth wouldn't meet my eyes, "Of course I did. Believe it or not I'm on your side."

I snorted, "Are you?"

I swung around to face Delta Allen, "And what about you? What do you have to say?"

He was clearly uncomfortable with the question, "I'm privy to a lot of information that's not mine to share."

"And that's your excuse?," I scoffed.

A spark of anger flickered in his eyes, "Korzka doesn't explain himself to me Leah! Nor is it my place to question his decisions."

"And why not? Surely you know right from wrong?." I challenged him.

He sighed, "If it makes you feel any better, I didn't approve of how he handled this."

"Guys this is not helping," Seth cut into our conversation.

His eyes bore into mine, "Leah at least be honest with yourself. Up until recently you believed every lie they told you about Korzka. You Judged him based solely on Sir Jedidahs side of the story and you know it."

"I had no reason not to," I replied.

Delta Allen touched my hand, "Sure you did. I don't know exactly what Korzka said to you that day. But, I do know Korzka. He at least asked you to keep and open mind. Leah did you ever stop to consider his feelings?

He found his soulmate in Sir Jedidah's studio listening to lies about him. He had no inkling of your relationship with Sir Jedidah. It had to be devastating for him."

"He jumped to conclusions without giving me a chance," I said defensively.

"But he did give you a chance," Seth replied. "He gave you the chance to get to know him, without the trappings of his position or Sir Jedidiah's influence."

"Oh so he did it for my benefit? Is that it?" I wasn't conceding on this because I knew I was right.

Delta Allen said, "He held off telling you the truth to give the imprint bond time to cement. He knew he couldn't put off telling you forever right?"

I was starting to see the logic of their arguments. But I didn't necessary agree with them.

"Your augments just prove Elijah didn't trust me at all," I said stubbornly.

"I disagree. He didn't know you. Just remember he may be the Alpha Rex, but he's still a man. He's not infallible," Delta Allen rebutted.

I slumped down on the sofa, "Even if everything you say is true,it doesn't change anything. The way Elijah likes to keep secrets from me is not okay. I can see myself forgiving him if he is willing to change. But if I do end up forgiving him for this, it will be the last time I do. I'm sure you understand that I have to be sure before I can allow him back in."

Seth's eyes lit up, "Do you really want to take him back?"

I considered what to say, "Seth he's my imprint. What do you think?."

Delta Allen smirked at me shaking his head, "So you aim to teach him a lesson first?"

I looked down my nose at him which was hard to do from the sofa, "Yes."

He glanced at Seth then back at me, "Okay then don't you forgive him, until he does all that he can to earn it!"

Seth and I stared at him shocked into silence.

He shrugged sheepishly, "Well then, we need to see about getting you to the base."

I held up my hand, "Wait! Is there anything else either of you need to tell me?"

"Um... well in the morning our pack will meet up with Korzka at our rendezvous point," Seth replied after a slight hesitation.

"Really? When was I going to find this out?," I said with exasperation.

Delta Allen sighed, "Come on Leah! Over five hundred wolves are expected to run with Korzka. It won't be hard to avoid him."

I nodded.

Seth grabbed my bag and we piled into Delta Allens Jeep. I rested back on the seat and stared out the window. It was quiet and eventually I was lulled into sleep.

Seth's Pov

The moment Leah's breathing leveled out I confronted Henry, "I was surprised to hear you encouraging her."

He smirked, "She's right. Anyway, Korzka brought this on himself."

I met his eyes in the rear-view mirror, "You don't know her like I do. Once she decides to do something, she can be a little extreme."

He sobered up, "Good, I hope she makes him grovel! We tried to warn him Seth but he was determined to muck things up."

"I almost feel sorry for him," I replied.

He shook his head, "Don't be. Once they hash this out, we will all be a stronger pack for it especially Korzka."
