7. I Robot, You Jane

NO ONES POV

It's night time in the Middle Ages a young man approaches Three other men there all quiet. The young man walks a little further passing them and stops smiling and kneeling. From the dark space infront of the man a voice speaks

"Carlo, my dear one..." a green scaled and clawed hand emerges and rests on the Man's head as if bestowing a blessing. The Man smiles rapturously up at the owner on the hand a horned and scaled green demon with red eyes and a mix between a human and reptiles face with an almost gorilla like nose. He Weres a monks robe. He looks down at him and begins to speak once more he speaks gently "Do you love me? I will give you everything. All I want is your love." The man nods and responds back saying he loves him the clawed hand suddenly twists snapping the smiling mans neck.

Outside of the monastery a group of monks have assembled. The eldest of them, brother thelonius, holds a leather book with metal accents

"It is Moloch. The corrupter. He walks again. More and more of our people have fallen under his mesmerizing power." Thelonious speaks the men look at him in fear as he moves to the center of the room. "We must form the circle. Now! There is still time to bind him." The monks form a circle around Thelonius. They begin to chant in Latin. Thelonius, at the center of the Circle, opens the book. The pages inside of the book are all blank.

Moloch lets the man's body drop with a sigh of contentment. The chanting from the monks becomes audible to Moloch he whips his head around concern clear on his face.

"No..." is all he can say slight fear showing in his word

Outside of the monostary the chant8ng continues as Thelonius speaks over the chants

"By the power of the Circle of Kayless, I command you, demon... come!" The wind picks up and Thelonius stops looking around. It's working. He quickly continues "I command you!"

Moloch screams as he does, his face starts dissolving.

Suddenly strange words start to splash onto the blank pages as the demon's spirit is sucked into the book. The chanting stops and Thelonius looks down at the book. Closing it. On the once simple leather cover is now the picture of molochs head. The monks leave to a far off area as ready a crate. Thelonius soon after the crate is ready places the book inside of it he looks worringly down at the book

"Pray this accursed book shall never again be read, lest the demon Moloch be loosed upon the world..." He shoves the heavy lid over the box and begins to bury it

LELAS POV

I hum as Buffy Xander Willow Giles and I as well as some computer class students helps scan books into the computer Willow is the main one scanning though

"Oh, great. A book." I hear Buffy say and I chuckle some it's not that bad

"I haven't gone through the new arrivals. Put it in that pile-" I here Giles say and if I remember right that's the pile by Willow

"Here, I got it." I here Dave say and I look behind me

"Thanks, Dave. The Willow pile." Buffy says as he takes it wait a minute why hasn't anyone offered to help me I shake my head some not like I need it it would just be nice. I bend down and pick up a stack of over twenty books and carry them to the shelves to put them back up...this is probably the reason no one is offering we've been at this for hours and I've been picking up such large piles of books they must be nurvise to try and help since I make it look easy as hell heh

"After I've examined it, you can, uh... skim it in." I here Giles say

"Scan it, Rupert. Scan it." Ms. Calendar corrects him and I groan here we go again those two have been at it ever since we started. I shake my head putting up the books for this section

"Of course..." Giles replies his voice dripping polite vinum

"I know our ways are strange to you, but soon you will join us in the 20th century... with three whole years to spare!" She replies back amused

"Ms. Calendar, I happen to believe that one can function in modern society without being a slave to the idiot box."

"That's TV. The idiot box is the TV. This is a good box."

"Well, I still prefer a good book." At this I poke my head around from the shelves

"Same I like to feel the actual book the feel of it the sound of the pages the scent you know? I like having it in my hands plus if your computer goes out you can't read" I finish pretty much looking like a floating head

"you two are so alike" ms. Calendar says

"not fully for One she can eat multiple pounds of fries in one sitting under 20 minutes" Giles retorts and she just looks over at me shocked but Buffy Xander and Willow all look up at me fast

"You did the challenge and won?!" All three of them say and I smirk

"yes Giles didn't eat to many but ate for 10 minutes I ate the rest which was pretty much all of it minus what three hand fulls and I still have free meals left"

"And you didn't offer me one of the free meals?!" Buffy asks

"Hey you and mom keep stopping me consider it a punishment told you I could" this just makes her glare at me and I laugh "I'm going to use one on you don't worry" this satisfies her and she goes back to working but Xander and Willow are still just looking at me shocked they snap out of it when fritz walks over looking annoyed mainly at me and Giles

"The printed page is obsolete. Information isn't bound up anymore, it's an entity. The only reality is virtual. If you're not jacked in, you're not alive." When he finishes he just walks away geez you waited that long to sound like you became a slave to the computer

"Thank you, Fritz... for making us all sound like crazy people." Ms. Calendar says then looks at Giles and I just go back to finishing my stack "Fritz comes on a little strong, but he has a point. You know for the last two years there was more E-mail sent than regular mail? More digitalized information went over phone lines than conversations." No why must you continue!

"That is a fact that I regard with genuine horror."

"I'll bet it is." I grab the last book and step away from behind the shelves into clear view

"hey enough you two or I will hit you both with this book" I say annoyed they both look at me give eachother one last look and shut up I nod glad they stopped and go put the book in it rightful place

"All right, guys, let's wrap it up for the day." At her words I walk out again and watch as people start leaving

"I've just got a few more to do. I'll hang for a bit." Willow says in response

"Cool, thanks."

"Xander, you want to stay and help
me?"

"Are you kidding?" Xander replies

"Yes, it was a joke I made up."

"Willow, I love you, but bye." Xander replies heading out

"Buffy?" She looks at Buffy

"Sorry will I'm seeing angel tonight" Willow looks at her sadly then looks over to me

"Lela?.." I just look at her and she's just giving me puppy dog eyes damn how can I refuse

"Yea sure you'll need some help moving the books anyway Buffy if you head home first let mom know I'm staying a little longer"

"Yeah sure you guys have fun." she says but it was hard to tell what kind of tone she was using...did she know? Part of myself wondered if it was even possible, but then again another part of me wanted to shrug it off knowing that she had to of been teasing. I didn't like Willow that way...or did I? panic started to swept through me for a moment at the thought, but I was able to shake it off quickly sending her a slow nod she smiles at me after I nod to her and leaves I just stand there and bite my lip for a second still lingering on what she said before I walk over to Willow.

"So what do you need" I ask her leaning forward on a stack of books on the desk she's working at she smiles relived to have some company and points to a cool looking large leather book I nod and hand it to her "pretty cool looking huh" she nods opening it but soon after confusion appears on her face

"What is this?" She asks me and I look at the odd writing...

"Latin maybe?"

"Maybe" she shrugs and starts scanning it and I walk over to the large piles of books and grab another pile leaving to stack it i continue this for 30 minutes after stacking the last book in what feels like the 50th pile I walk back out from the shelves to the yet to be put up books I glance over to willow to see how she's doing but it looks like she hasn't even touched anything

"hey will was you to tired after all?" I ask her as I bend down to pick up another stack She looks up a little surprised then looks at the stack

"Um yea" she pauses "hey come here for a minute" i sigh a little relived that she called me over because honestly my back hurts setting the stack back down I head over popping my back on the way and I think it was so loud buffy could hear it from where ever she is now

"What is it" I ask and she smiles at me then looks back at her screen typing

"I got an email from someone he seems really nice" is all she said

"Your email?"

"Yea I hooked it up to my account" I just nod a little confused I was never good with these things every time I go to use it somehow it messes up like it knows it's me it does not do it for anyone else but me well it may do it to Giles as well but I swear it knows when I use it which results in me yelling at the screen and everyone looking at me as if I've gone mad

"Someone we know?"

"No" she smiles more "but he seems really sweet" I look at her face and she just seems oddly happy I glance at the screen and read some of what was written him introducing himself random talk and...flirting?...Once I read the flirting an odd sinking feeling came from my chest for a moment but I try to ignore it knowing that this was more important than that feeling though my brain doesn't seem to think so because random things start floating around in my mind. Shaking my head slightly to try and rid myself of the thoughts I place a gentle hand on willows shoulder giving her a concerned look this guy screamed something but I couldn't put a finger on it...

"Willow we don't really know who this is" her smile falls and I feel even worse biting my lip I hold in a sigh "just promise me you'll be careful" she gains her smile back and nods "so...are you done for the night?" I ask holding back yet another sigh I want to ask how he could of even gotten her email or knows about her but I don't want to put a damper on her mood again...

"Yea I think I'm going to go ahead and go home" she answers turning the computer off and getting up grabbing her things

"Want me to walk you to your place will"

"Yea ok" she smiles and we both head out but I just leave my stuff here for the night along the way we have a funny chat about the fry challenge and Giles and but she starts steering twards who she calls Malcolm the person she was telling me about before and that sinking feeling in my chest comes back along with all the thoughts and what buffy said...

"Here we are" I say trying to keep a smile as we reach her door and she smiles at me

"Thanks Lela I'll see you tomorrow" she says quickly heading inside I let my smile fall and let out a sigh running a hand through my hair turning around and heading back home why do I feel like this...

I look over at buffy as she tries for the 4th time to call willow it's been a week since I walked willow home and she's been less and less talkitive to us hell she hasn't really been answering her calls either

"Any luck" I ask her pretty much already knowing the answer she moves her hair back and hangs up

"no" she tosses the phone around in her hand a few times before putting it back up "Why do you think she isn't answering" I just shrug I have a feeling that it's the guy she meet online but I honestly don't know...sighing I lay back onto Buffy's bed and close my eyes buffy let's out a groan shortly after and then the bed shakes opening my eyes I see her face first on the bed

"Board?"

"Yes" she says not even bothering to lift her head up i drum my stomech for a moment then turn to face her

"hey remember when we used to play rodeo" I ask her trying to cheer her up she lifts her head and lays on her side

"Oh yea we would always play that in our room and I would always be able to stay on why?" I smirk and sit up

"Bet I can buck you off this time" at that she smirks

"Bet you can't" I get up at her accepting the challenge and close the door and blinds it's a good thing mom isn't home because I have a trick up my sleeve to buck her off I get onto my hands and knees

"Well come on then" she gets on my back once I say that and I start bucking some she just holds on laughing and throughing out an I told you so here and there I simply smirk and quickly shift into my werewolf form and her grip goes from lightly holding onto my shoulders to grabbing onto my fur and tencing up

"Lela wait you never said you would shift!" I let out a snort at her panicked voise and start to buck she holds on tighter squealing and laughing after a few more bucks I'm finally able to get her off my back and luckily onto her bed and not the floor I quickly shift back and do a little victory dance which is mainly me fist pumping the air

"I told you I could!" I say victoricaloy and she just sets up her hair all messed up wearing a playful glare

"That's only because you cheated"

"Nope I never said how I could buck you off just that I could" she huffs but laughs none the less and I just smile at her glad that I was able to make her happy

BUFFYS POV

"Any sigh of willow yet?" Lela asks as she catches up to me in the schools hallway. Ever since we got to school today we have been looking for willow so far no sign of her sighing i look at lela

"No and your class is about to start" she mumbles something under her breath and nods and turns around hesitantly

"Ya and if i dont head there right now ill be late" she pauses then continues "youll keep looking for willow right?" I nod she seems more worried than usual does she know whats happened..or maybe she has a small idea of whats wrong..i tear myself from my thoughts to ask her but shes already gone. ill have to ask her later Sighing i turn around and spot willow. Finally!

"Willow! Willow! Hey, wait up!" Willow looks over as i quickly walk to her side

"Buffy! I didn't even see you." Willow says in a giddy tone

"Or hear me. What was up last night? I tried your line like a million times."

"Oh, I was... I was talking."

"Talking to..." willow just smiles at my question "Okay, that's it. You have a secret and that is not allowed." I say pouting a little

"Why not?" Willow asks slightly upset

"Cause... there's a rule." I say unconvincingly but i dont care i wanna know what her egret is

"Well... I sort of met someone." My eyes widen slightly and a large smile crosses my face

"I knew it! This is so important. When did you meet?"

"Last week. When lela and i was staying behind to do more scanning" oh my god this must be what lela was worried about why didnt she tell me why would she be worried about this?! This is amazing!

"Does he go here? What's his name? Have you kissed him? What's he like?" I ask in rapid fire

"No, Malcolm, no, and very nice."

"You and lela are a thing of evil for not telling me this right away."

"Well, I wasn't sure there was anything to tell. But last
night - oh, we talked all night. It was amazing. He's so smart, Buffy, and he's romantic and we agree about everything."

"What's he look like?"

"I don't know." Willow says cheerfully as she walks ahead my smile fades a little ok.. what does she mean by that..

I follow her into the computer lab its quiet other than the slight typing at two computers. Looking around to see whos typing i spot fritz and Dave working

"Yes... I will. I promise." I hear Dave whisper but i dont look over to see who hes talking to or maybe hes just talking to himself.

"So" i start then pause giving up on figuring out what willow ment "You've been seeing a guy and you

don't know what he looks like. Okay, it's a puzzle. No wait, I'm good at these. Does it involve a midget and a block of ice?" I say jokingly and slightly annoyed

"I met him on line."

"On line for what?" I ask confused as we stop at her computer. She tilts her head to the computer and i mentally face palm myself

"Oh. On line. As in - right. Duhh." I say slightly embarissed

"Morning, kids." Ms calendar greets as she walks in putting her stuff down and looks up and straight at me "Buffy, are you supposed to be somewhere?"

"I have a free."

"Cool. But this is lab time so let's make it a nice short visit, okay?"

"Oh sure." I reply as willow sits and logs into her computer

"You have mail!" The computer says and willow gets even more exited and happy

"It's him..." she clicks on her mail and a message pops up. It says 'I'm thinking about you.' Willow is totally charmed. I see why lela was so worried now this is a little offsetting

"He's so sweet." Willow says swooning

"Uh, yeah, he's a sweetie." I say trying to hide my concern

"What should I write back?"

"Uh, Willow... I think it's great that you've got a cool pen pal, but... you seem to be kind of rushing all into this. You know what I mean?"

"I'm thinking of you too! No, that's incredibly stupid." Willow says having not hured a word i said

"Will. Down girl. Let's focus. What do you really know about this guy?"

"See, I knew you'd react like this."

"Like what? I just think you should be, well, careful."

"Buffy" she starts sounding sad and a little hurt

"He could be different than you think." I say trying to put it to her gently

"His name is Malcolm Black, he's eighteen, he lives in Elmwood which is like eighty miles from here and he likes me." She trys explaining and i frown still not convinced

"Short, tall, skinny, fat..."

"Why does everything have to be about looks?"

"Not everything. But some stuff is. I mean, what if you guys get really intense and then you find out he... has a hairy back?" She almost wavers at the hairy back thing

"Well... no. He doesn't talk like the kind of person who has a hairyback. And anyway that stuff doesn't matter if you really care about each other." She looks even more upset "Maybe I'm not his ideal of babelitude either." She says hurt and i cuss in my mind i wish lela was here shes a little better at this than i am

"Hey." I say softly "I just want to make sure he's good enough for you, that's all. I think it's great that you're" im suddenly cut off by someone behind me

"Hey! Are you done?" Fritz asks me annoyed

"What?" I ask confused

"I'm trying to work."

"Okay, sorry..." i look at willow "Boy, Fritz is even more charming than usual".

"I don't know what his problem is lately." Willow replies

"He needs to get out more. Or ever."

"Hey, Fritz. I'm looking at the logs - you and Dave are clocking a pretty scary amount of computer time." I hear ms calendar say to fritz

"New project." He answers simply

"Will I be excited?"

"You'll die." He says in a odd tone geez he can be creepy sighing i look back to willow to try and get her to start being careful but just as i open my mouth the bell rings

"Buffy class is starting its time for you to go" ms calendar says as she gets ready i just nod to her and start heading out

"See you later will" i call out to willow but i dont get any reply which i usually do i hold in a worried and disapointed sigh and head out into the hall "now what do i do.." i make my way to the library and start heading in when i see that giles is working on the books slowly i walk out from the door way and back into the hall. "Well thats a no go.." sighing with no idea on where to go i head outside to pass the time until my class

LELAS POV

I look around as I head outside its chaos today teachers and students swearing about their computers and files as I walk down the steps and past a student I hear him talking to himself upset

"This isn't my report. Nazi Germany was a model of a well-ordered society? I didn't write that! Who's been in my files?" Another conversation catches my ear about nothing being in someone's files about being allergic to penicillin somethings happening and it's not good not once so ever. My minds taken off the subject when I spot Xander covering willows eyes saying guess who I chuckle to myself and slowly and quietly walk to them

"Xander." Willow says

"Well, yeah, but keep guessing anyway." Xander says slightly upset that she isn't playing along

"Xander." He removes his hands

"I can't fool you. You see right through my petty charade." At this I cover both their eyes

"Guess who to" I say smirking

"A masked cereal killer?" He's not wrong

"In a way" to vamps and demons anyway

"Lela" Willow says not really playing along with me either and I remove my hands

"Are we going to the bronze tonight" Xander asks willow after giving me a playful smirk

"Not me. I think I'm gonna make it an early night." Willow answers him

"Malcolm, huh? That's right, I heard. Okay, but you're missing out. I'm planning to be witty. I'll be making fun of all the people who won't talk to me."

"That's nice. Have a good time." At that she leaves with Xander and I watching her as she goes...I though she was going to be careful...

"She certainly looks perky." Buffy says as she shows up next to us

"Color in the cheeks, a bounce in the step. I don't like it. It isn't healthy." Xander says turning to Buffy "So what about you? Bronze? No, you probably have to slay vampires or some lame endeavor like that. Everybody deserts me." Buffy laughs at this

"Check out the jealous man."

"What are you talking about?"

"You're jealous!" I nod agreeing with her

"Sorry Xander but you are sounding pretty jealous" I pipe in

"Of what?" He asks

"Willow's got a thang and Xander's left hanging." Buffy says

"That's meaningless drivel. I'm not interested in Willow like that." Ya but you are very Interested in buffy

"Yeah, but you got used to being the belle of the ball."

"No, it's just... this Malcolm guy. What's his deal? Admit that it wigs you slightly."

"Slightly. I mean, just not knowing what he's really like."

"How about who he really is? Oh sure, he says he's a high school student. I could say I was a high school student."

"You are."

"Okay, but I could also say I was an elderly Dutch woman, get me? Who's to say I'm not? If I'm in the elderly Dutch chat room."

"Buffy he's right we don't honestly know who this person is or how they even found out about her I had her agree to be careful but it seems she's going to fast we really need to know who this is" Xander nods to me in agreement

"I get your point." Buffy says brushing it to the side but then it sinks in "I get your point. This guy could be anything. Old, weird, crazy...he could be a circus freak!"

"You know, you read about these things all the time. Two people meet on the net, they talk, they get together, dinner, a show, horrible axe murder..." Xander says trying to rile her up joking at this point and I sigh

"Willow axe-murdered by a circus freak. What do we do?" Buffy snaps out of it "What are we doing?" She hits his arm "You two get me started... we're totally over-reacting."

"I know, but isn't it fun?"

"You may of been joking Xander but I'm serious she has to be careful until we actually see this person he's dangerous" I say upset

"Everything will be fine Lela calm down" Xander says and I just shake my head sighing

"Buffy lets just go to class we will be late" I head out before she can say anything but I can hear Buffy running to catch up

"Hey what's wrong?" She asks and I just look over

"I am honestly worried I was there when she got the first email there was an odd where am I for the first message then talking then flirting and it's only been a week she's moved to fast I've just had a bad feeling ever since"

"I understand but she will be ok" I sigh and nod letting it go I don't want to talk about this any longer expecally since Buffy isn't listening to me on this

LELAS POV

I mumble curses under my breath as i rush to gym well i was rushing but now i find myself on my ass. Looking up to see who i ran into and its fritz whos in front of me looking down glairing

"Shit sorry fritz" i slowly get up and notice Fritz's arm has a carved M on it "hey what happened to your arm?" I ask a little worried did he do it to himself

"Im jacked in" is all he says walking away

"Okay...thats...weird" i shake any questions i had about this out of my mind and start rushing to the gym again and Into the locker room "hey buffy" i greet her as i put my things down

"Hey"

"Have you seen any sign of Willow Today?" I ask Buffy as we undress

"No neither has Xander" I nod as I get dressed in my gym clothes...it's not like her to miss school I sit down and wait for Buffy to finish changing and right as she does Willow comes rushing in and starts pulling off her sweater she has many layers on today

"Whoah, you're the late girl." Buffy says

"You alright?"

"I overslept." She answers us her tone sounds slightly annoyed...

"Till fifth period? Talking to Malcolm last night?" Buffy asks

"Yeah" Willow looks at us when we don't answer "What."

"Nothing."

"You're both having an expression."

"We're not. But if I was, it would be saying... It's just not like you."

"Not like me to have a boyfriend?" I feel my heart sinking again

"He's... boyfriendly?" Buffy asks

"Willow...that's not what she means" I say causiousally I don't want a fight to start

"I don't understand why you don't want me to have this. Boys don't chase me around all the time. I thought you'd both be happy for me." She says getting upset

"I just want you to be sure. To meet him face to face-in a crowded place-in daylight-with some friends. You know, before you get all obsessive." I inwardly wince at her wording

"Malcolm and I really care about each other. Big deal if I blow off a couple of classes." Willow says getting more upset and annoyed with every word Buffy says

"I thought you overslept." Buffy says in a monotone tone. Willow turns away

"Malcolm said neither of you would understand." Buffy closes her locker

"Malcolm was right." She answers in the same tone leaving Willow turns looking at the door then at me

"Willow I know your upset with how Buffy worded it but this really isn't like you blowing off classes and lying about it to us? I understand that your happy having someone who you like and who likes you back but your moving to fast and-" she leaves leaving me alone "we're worried..." I finish. I get up and slowly walk out for gym feeling a little hurt

Buffy and i mumble as we look around for Dave or fritz honestly we both would prefur Dave. We had no luck inside so far so we both head outside and low and behold hes right there on the steps typing furiously on his laptop i jerk my head over to Dave and buffy nods heading over to him with me close to her side

"Hi Dave." Buffy greets but he does not seem to of hured her

"Hey there Dave." I say giving it a try gaining no response

"Anybody home?" Buffy asks as she taps his shoulder resulting in him jumping startled turning to us

"Oh. What do you want?" He asks

"We wanted to ask you something. If you had a minute..."

"A minute. Okay. Yeah, a minute... What is it?" He reply's he seems a little scattered brained right now maybe this wasnt such a good time to ask

"Well, you're a computer geek-" buffy says but quickly covers her ass "-nius... I have a technical problem. If I wanted to find out something about someone, if someone E-mailed me, could I trace the letter?"

"Well, you can pull up someone's profile based on their user name."

"But they write the profile themselves, right? So they could say anything they want." I join in

"True."

"Wow i actually knew something about computers this time" buffy chuckles and Dave smiles seeming to get a little calmer around us i guess people dont talk to him much

"Well, is there a way to find out exactly where a letter" buffy corrects herself "an E-letter" she says in a questioning tone "came from?"

" she means the actual location of the computer?" I chime in

"It's a challenge..." he says looking very interested now

"Cause Willow's got this friend Malcolm and it's like he's" Dave cuts her off sounding upset

"Leave Willow alone." The color has drained from his face. Buffy looks startled by this sudden change and we both look at him concerned.

"What do you mean?"

"That's none of your business." Dave replies annoyed

"Dave... are you Malcolm?" Buffy asks a slight smile appearing on her face

"Of course not. I have to get back to work." He says looking back at his computer typing fast at his typing we are both drawn to his hands to see there covered in bandaids

"Your hands..." buffy asks in a soft and worried tone she gently takes one in her hand and Dave pulls it away quickly

"It's nothing. I'm typing a lot."

"What's going on?" Buffy asks a little more concerned

"Look, I'll talk to you later. I've got work to do." At this he shuts us out and buffy gets up and heads back inside with me close behind

"So do I." Buffy says to herself

"Are we heading to the library?" She just nods in response to my question the rest of the walk is in silence when buffy opens the door we are greeted to giles working buffy heads straight to him and starts explaining and i just sit down in a chair and pop my ear buds in turning on natural by imagine dragons waiting for her explanation to end. I find myself playing imaginary drums to the song when a sudden tap on my shoulder startles me and causes one of my finger drumb sticks to hit the table a little to hard

"Ah shit!" I shake my finger mumbling then take my ear buds out when the pain stops "what?" I ask slightly annoyed because my finger got hurt buffy just looks at me with an annoyed look on her face but i think that looks more because of giles than me

"Will you please tell him that you think willow and the guys are acting weird" i nod and turn to look at giles

"Its not just buffy being worried about this willow Dave and fritz are all really jumpy...fritz is more creepy than usual"

"Well, those boys aren't sparklingly
normal as it is." Giles replies brushing it off

"What about willow shes never done this" i reply and hes about to speak when buffy cuts him off

"Giles, trust me." She says

"I do." He replies "But I don't really know how to advise you. Things involving the computer fill me with a childlike terror. Now if it were a nice Ogre or some such I'd be more in my element."

"And our resident computer expert is too wrapped up in her new cyber-beau to help out. I gotta figure this out."

"Well lela could try and make since of it" i frown at his suggestion

"Oh no. Giles no im even worse at computers than you are. Remember then I tried to choke the damn thing out" he takes off his glasses cleaning them

"Q-quite right" he says finishing and putting them back on as buffy laughs at me some "Well, I suppose you could tail Dave, see if he's up to something."

"Follow Dave? What, in a trench coat and dark glasses? Please. I'll work this out." She says

"Willow's been acting weird since we scanned those books. Fritz has been acting weird since birth... I don't know. I've got all the pieces but no puzzle. Or, I've got puzzle pieces but some of them are missing. Or they're in the wrong place in the puzzle... I hate metaphors. I'm gonna follow Dave." Buffy says and i just chuckle and her scattered thoughts "you coming?" I shake my head

"Im gonna find out what i can here" she nods and leaves

"What exacally are you going to do" giles asks and i look up at him from my seat

"Try the computers see if willow Dave or fritz was still logged in if so ill snoop" giles hesitantly nods and i get up and head to the computer room. I look through the doors window and see its empty "good" opening the door i head to the usual place willow sits and wiggle the mouse to wake the computer up "nope" i head to Dave's and do the same thing "no" i lookover at Fritz's computer "ah Man i really dont want to mess with this one" i head over and wiggle the mouse the screen pops up and shows hes still logged in i sigh in relief and in annoyance that it just had to be his computer moving the mouse i click on a random foulder to find junk "lets see work and junk ok" i exit and move the mouse but the curser does not move frowning i look at the mouse and notice that theres some dried blood on it and on the table it's not a lot but.."did he actually carve that M into his own arm here..." I quickly fix the ball on the mouse and click an unnamed foulder "why is im jacked in written over and over?" I Frown when i notice thats the same thing he said to me when i asked about his arm i quickly click off it and look around at the other folders trying to find something useful. "Mail" i read the folder or what ever it is name outloud and click on it. There's a recent message on here with just an M on the name of whoever messaged...frowning I lean back into the chair the same thing on his arm...my stomech sinks at the sudden thought that pops into my mind is it possible...that this M is Malcom...sitting back up I click on the name to open the messages quickly I skim through it and I can feel my heart tighten and my eyes widden at some of the messages on here promises of power knolage love? A picture of me and buffy... "watch them...what the hell is going on here fritz..." i go to scroll through more then the whole computer glitches and turns black "what the fuck! Really?! Right when im learning something you useless overgrown caculater!" I grab the plastic around the screen shaking it some pissed but let go when i notice i dented it "shit" cussing more under my breath i get up fast and run back to giles what ever fritz is doing it isnt good and it must involve Dave and willow with buffy and I as some sort of targets...why though...if this is really Malcom...then willow is in danger. Thoughts start swimming through my head as my heart clinches inside my chest

BUFFYS POV

I lean on the schools front door waering a coat and sunglasses...I feel kinda stupid actually going through with wearing these but it seems to have worked Dave walked right past me without noticing. As he walks to his car he looks around in a slight panic after a few seconds he calms down and gets in starting the car and leaving i quickly follow the car to where ever he's heading and honesty I wish I had a better plan than this or at least have lela in a cloaking devise as a werewolf and ride her as a horse. After what feels like an eternity he finally pulls up to a large government looking building surrounded by a high fence looking around I spot a sign above the door that says CRD in large letters. Upon further inspection I see that there's multiple workers bringing large boxes into the building with hand dollies and forklifts no one is talking to each other and Dave pulls up to the building after someone looks into his car and lets him through. I run up and stand outside the gate to get a better view. Dave heads toward the building and a couple people who look like scientists walk beside him with no trace of emotion on their face the three of them enter together and as I take a closer look the workers and guards have the same emotionless faces as the scientists.

Back in the schools computer lab there's a video feed of buffy at the CRD building looking around outside the gate as well as another video right beside the live one with recorded footage of lela looking through Fritz's computer

"There too close..." fritz says to the computer as he watches the feed "What do I do?" The image disappears. For a moment just blank space, then words appear 'Kill them.' Fritz stares at the command

"Party." Fritz utters with a smile

BUFFYS POV

"Whatever Dave is into, it's large." i say to giles Xander and lela. Lela takes a seat on one of the library's chairs looking distressed. I wonder if she found something out.

"What was the name of the place?" Giles asks

"Said CRD. I couldn't get close enough to see what it was" Xander cuts me off

"Calax Research and Development. Computer research lab. Third biggest employer in Sunnydale, till it closed last year." We all look at him suprized and he looks a little offended by our looks. "What, I can't have information
sometimes?"

"It's just somewhat unprecedented." Giles responds to him

"Well, my uncle used to work there." He stops but then starts again "In a floor-sweeping capacity."

"But it closed." I ask

"Uh-huh."

"Looked pretty functional from where I stood. I don't have a clue what they were doing..."

"And what do they need Dave for?"

"Something about computers, right? I mean he is off-the-charts-smart."

"We still don't know a terrible lot. Whatever's going on there could be on the up and up." Giles says

"If CRD re-opened it'd be in the news." Xander replies

"Besides, I can just tell something's wrong. My spider-sense is tingling." When I say this giles gives me a confused look

"Your spider-sense?" He asks

"Pop-culture reference." After answering him I look over to lela who still looks disrtressed so I speak up a little worried "lela what's wrong? You haven't said a thing and you look upset" she looks up at me biting her lip

"I went to look through Dave's willows and Fritz's computers" we all look at her with disbelief

"You went on a computer and didn't break it?" Xander says and lela just looks at him a little guilty

"Well I almost broke it it glitched and turned off and I grabbed it and shook it and sorta maybe dented it" after she admits this Xander and I just kinda smirk

"As much as I don't like computers I feel you may have lost your temper and over reacted" Giles tells her and she just gives him an annoyed look

"Hey it glitched right when I found something and you all know that these damn things hate me!" She says waving her arms slightly at the last part we all hold in a laugh but I lose my smile when what she said sinks in

"You said you found something what did you find" I ask her and she calms down and has a serious expression on her face

" like I said I went to look through the computers willow and Dave had logged out of theirs but fritz was still logged in I sat down at his computer on his mouse and desk there was dried blood and I had ran into him earlier he had the letter M carved into his arm he must of done it himself the blood on the desk and mouse sure supports that." She pauses for a moment so we all can take it in after a minute she starts again "i looked through some of the files one had I'm jacked in written over and over. That's the same thing he told me when I asked about his arm. I searched another file called mail and there was a name with an M on it. I think..that this M is Malcom it's the only thing I can think of the messages between the two was promising power knolage and love and there was a photo and buffy and I on there with watch them written after it that's when the whole thing glitched and turned off. I feel that willows in trouble..." we all look at each other then back at lela

"Giles this proves something's up" Giles just looks at me with an expression that shows he's unsure

"With fritz yes but I'm afraid for Dave we are at a standstill. Short of breaking into the place, I don't see" I cut Giles off

"Breaking in. This then is the plan."

"I'm free tonight." Xander chimes in we both look at lela

"Count me in" she tells us with a thumbs up

"Tonight it is." I confirm

"A moment, please, of quiet reflection I-I did not suggest
that you illegally enter the" Giles scolds us but quickly stops once ms calendar suddenly enters the room "data into the file and then the book will be listed by title as well as author."

"Hi." Ms calendar greats

"Hello." Giles responds back

"I was gonna check your new database, make sure your cross reference table isn't glitching. 'Cause I'm guessing you haven't gone near it."

"A safe assumption." Giles retorts ms calendar then looks at Xander lela and I

"You here again? You kids really
dig on the library, don't you?"

"We're literary." I answer her

"To read is makes our speaking English good." Xander responds and I grab him by his arm and drag him away because of that crappy response

"Well, we gotta go."

"Yes, we'll continue our
conversation another time." Giles says to us

"No, I think we're done." I look at Xander after answering giles and tug his arm as we get closer to the door and I whisper yell at him "Our speaking English good?"

"I panicked, okay?" Xander whisper yells back and we open the door and stop in the hall

"Lela didn't follow?" I ask Xander as I look around before he can answer lela walks out of the librery and stands by us "ok now that we are all here we need to find willow Dave and fritz" before I can ask who wants to take who lela speaks up

"I'll look for willow if I don't find her I'll help look for fritz"

"Ok I'll look for Dave then"

"I guess that leaves me with fritz" Xander says and I nod

"We all will meet up back in the librery afterwords alright?" I ask and they all nod and we head our seprite ways

LELAS POV

I speed walk to the first place I can think of that she might be turning the corner I reach the computer lab and enter it looking around spotting willow at her computer I let out a sigh of relief my relief is soon extinguished when I hear her typing and talking to herself as she types

"I know what you mean. I feel like you know me better than anyone." She finishes and reads getting ready to type again I start walking twords her but freeze in place at what she starts saying next

"Do you think we should..." she pauses "... meet?" My eyes widden and panic starts setting in I finally manage to start moving to her again and stand beside her glancing at the screen reading his response 'I think we should. Soon.' Anger sets in as my panic grows willow hasn't noticed me because she goes to respond and i quickly but gently grab her hand she jumps slightly startled and looks up at me

"Lela?" She asks I just stair at her unsure of how to break this down gently. Absentmindliy I tighten my grip slightly around her hand but not to where it hurts her more like to where it comfurt her I start to notice the heat and softness of her hand and how it seems to be calming me down a little my heart speeds up slightly and a strange feeling sweeps over me "Lela what is it" willow says and I'm snapped out of my thoughts. I Push the feeling away And take a deep breath

"Willow you have to stop talking to him" I say instinally regretting my words she yanks her hand from mine with an expression on her face that was a mix of anger and hurt

"What do you mean" she asks that same expression on her face showing in her voice

"Willow you have to listen he" she cuts me off anger starting to show more then hurt

"No you listen why can't you two just be happy for me? I'm tired of this" before she can say more I speak up

"Willow! He isn't who you think he is buffy and I brought him up to Dave and he freaked out fritz has cut an M into his arm and I've looked through his computer there was someone named M and some weird conversations and a photo of buffy and I with watch them following it the only person I can think of is Malcom" she goes to interrupt me but I stop her and gesture to the screen "look at this!" I start to raise my voice "who starts with where am I and then flirts after. he's gotten you to skip classes and now to meet him so soon your moving to fast. And he's not acting normal" I soften my tone and her face shows confusion and something else I'm not sure what it is "I took a few glances at your screen willow please listen to me we all think that he's dangerous there's something off about him please you have to listen to me..." she stairs at me for a minute then breaths out

"Lela you all are grasping at straws Malcom isn't dangerous he's not this M person and if you cared about me you would be happy for me"

"Willow please.."

"Please just leave" is all she says as she looks back at the screen and starts typing an apology to Malcom

"Willow" she Dosent answer and just compleatly ignores me My heart sinks and I try to hide the hurt look on my face sighing I turn around and head towards the door maybe buffy will have a better chance of convincing her...I stop and place my hand on the door frame looking back at willow I open my mouth to say something but close it and leave...sighing I smell the air to see if I can find fritz for some answers if I can get him to tell me the name of M and what the hell is going on then maybe willow will listen. Following the scent I groan at my previous thought and mumble to myself "geez sounds like I'm hoping it's Malcom at this point" I reach the stairs and I go to step on the first step when I hear willow yell for me back down the hall I start to panic and turn my head to look the way of her voice when all of a sudden I feel a hard push and I'm free falling down the stairs. Everything goes black.

WILLOWS POV

"Just leave" i tell lela and look back at my screen typing im sorry to Malcom i hear her say my name with a hurt tone to her voice but i foucus on typing Malcom says its ok and asks whats wrong i start typing back slowly. I hear lela walking away she stops but starts walking again when i cant hear her footsteps anymore i take in a shaky breath and start typing again "its lela" I get a quick response back from him

'what about her?'

"She just came in grasping at straws that your some sort of bad guy buffy and her haven't been trusting of you but they never went this far before"

'Buffy and Lela just make trouble. That's why they got kicked out of their old school.' My heart stops for a moment at his reponce I never mentioned anything about that...an unsettling feeling sets in and I slowly and carefully type my response

"How did you know that?"

'It's on their permanent record.' The feeling grows and I can feel panic starting to set in Malcom messages me again soon after and I hesitantly start reading it 'You must have mentioned it.'

"I guess." This isn't right...

'Let's not worry about them anymore.' The unsettling feeling and panic starts getting to much to handle and i quickly message him back

"I have to sign off. I'll talk to you later."

'Don't.' Is all he messages back...I need to find Lela she's right somethings off...

"Bye." I turn my computer off quickly and gather my things rushing out of the class room I look down both sides of the hall and don't see her..."Lela!" I call out loud enough for her to hear but I don't get any response I don't even see her...my heart starts to sink slightly...I shouldn't of been so hard on her...I slowly walk a little further into the hallway "Lela please I need you!" My voice cracks slightly and the unsettling feeling does not go away I take a shaky breath and sigh "I guess she's gone" I hold in another sigh "I wish she was here again" i mutter as my heart starts to ache...shaking my head I walk to the schools entrance and head home

BUFFYS POV

I head outside slightly annoyed ive looked all around the school for Dave and this is the only place i havent looked. I make it outside and look around there seems to be some teachers panicking about something and some students complaining about computers i start looking around sighing

"Buffy." I here Dave call my name and i look in the direction of his voice

"Dave. How're you doing?" I ask him he looks around a little he seems more nurvise than usual

"I'm okay. I'm sorry about yesterday. I haven't been sleeping much."

"Don't sweat it."

"Uh, Willow was looking for you." He says and I internally sigh do I ask him about the building or go to will...shaking the thoughts away I chose to see will she's more important and there's a chance Lela hasn't found her yet

"Oh, great, I wanted to catch her before she went home. Do you know where she is?"

"She said she would be in the girl's locker room." I smile softly at him

"Great. Thanks." Quickly I head off to the girls locker room. After a fer I minutes I reach it and walk inside...it's dark and seems empty

"Willow?" I call out walking slowly by a row of lockers and round the corner

Lela slowly comes through the open archway leading to the staircase she wears an expression that clearly shows that she feels hurt she also seems deep in though so deep that she does not notice the figure in the shadows and she starts to take her first step down the stairs

"Lela!" Willow calls out to Lela. Lela freezes mid step and looks twords the sound of willows call. Before she can move twords the girl the figure shoots out from the shadows and forcefully shoves into her Lela shocked from the sudden shove makes no sound and no effort to fight back as she sails through the air for a few minutes and lands on the steps tumbling to the bottom of the stair case. Her vision is to blurry to see that fritz had been the one who pushed her she soon after passes out and fritz smiles looking down at her

"One down" is all he says as he heads to the girls locker room. He stays in the shadows and takes out a knife severing a wire tossing it onto the ground. He then turns the water on and retreats back into the shadows.

"Willow?" Hearing Buffys Voice He freezes for a moment but soon starts slowly moving and slipping out of the locker room and heading back into the computer lab

"Will? You taking a shower?" I ask as I walk twords the sudden sound of water I look around the showers but it's empty "Guess not." Shaking my head I walk into the shower that's still running and turn it off "This is how droughts are started."

"Buffy!" I spin around at the sound of Dave's voice he's at the other side of the locker room with a terrified look on his face. I start to look around quickly...what's made him so...my eyes widden as I see live wires as fast as I can I take a step twords the edge of the shower stall and I'm sent flying as a sudden jolt surges through me and I land hard of the floor outside of the stall. I can't do anything but just lay there shaking trying to catch my breath. Once I've somewhat recovered I look to where Dave was only to see he's left slowly I set up and I notice smoke coming from my sneakers...

"that was to close" I mumble to myself as I slowly start getting up.

XANDERS POV

I've checked every room I could upstairs and now downstairs everywhere was a bust shaking my head I keep walking to the stairs to get to the librery

"I wonder if Lela and buffy had better luck" I mumble to myself out loud I round the corner to the staircase and freeze at the bottom of the stair case is Lela. "Lela?" When she doesn't answer I rush to her side and shake her shoulder trying to wake her up "Lela hey wake up!" Panic starts creeping in but after a few more shakes she wakes up. Taking a slightly shaky breath I help her up. "What happened? Why were you down there?" She holds her head for a few seconds then looks back up the stairs

"Someone...shoved me I couldn't see who..." she sounds a little out of it as she talks

"Come on let's get you to giles" all she does is nod and I help her up the stairs. Who could of done couldn't of been fritz could it...I shake my thoughts away as I help her down the hall. I can't think about this right now. We finally make it to the librery and I help her keep upright as we stop inside of the door way "hey um giles a little help" he looks up from his book slightly but once he realizes what's going on he rushes to us and helps me take Lela to a chair

"What happened?" He asks as he checks her over and I just sigh annoyed

"Someone pushed her down the stairs and she couldn't tell who it was" giles is about to say something when the doors open and buffy walks in. Her hair is all over the place and her shoes are smoking I rush to her side and help her to a chair.

"What the hell happened to you first Lelas hurt now you come in smoking" she looks over to Lela worried

"What happened to Lela?" She asks the worry showing in her tone

"Someone pushed her down the stairs we don't know who" she nods clearly still worried

"Buffy what happened" I ask her again she looks away from Lela and back to me

"Dave told me willow was in the locker room I went to check and she wasn't there but the shower was on I turned it off Dave called me looking scared to death I looked around and there was a live wire in the shower I didn't get out in time to avoid the shock" I can feel my anger boil and I start pacing to calm down how dare he set buffy up!

Giles looks at me with concern after he checks me over. I look at lela to see how she's doing she just seems to be in a slight daze still trying to catch up to everything which I don't blame her even I'm trying to catch up leaning back I look over at Xander who's pacing back and forth upset.

"I'm gonna kill Dave." Xander says as he keeps pacing

"He tried to warn me." I tell him trying to calm him down

"Warn you that he set you up!" He asks angrily "how do we know that he didn't set Lela up to" he looks at her for a second then at me his gaze finally lands on giles "Are they gonna be okay?" He asks him panic clear in his voice

"She was only grounded for a moment." Giles answers then looks at me "Still, if you'd been anyone but the Slayer..." He then looks twords Lela "lela had quite the fall she should come out of her daze soon...but if she was normal that fall would of done much more damage" I look tword Lela worried then back to giles

"Tell me the truth. How's my hair?" I ask Xander and Giles slightly worried about how my hair looks right now the both look at me suprized

"It's great. It's your best hair ever." Xander answers

"Oh yes." Giles adds I sigh in slight relifef

"I just don't understand what would make Dave do a thing like that." I say starting back on the main problem at hand

"I think perhaps I do." Giles answers going and grabbing something at the counter

"Care to share?" Xander asks

"Does this look familiar to either of you?" Giles holds out a large book

"Yeah, sure. It looks like a book." I answer him

"I knew that one." Xander adds Giles looks over to lela and she looks up slowly. Once she sees the book she looks confused

"I've seen this book before...when willow and I stayed behind it had some weird writing in it" Lela says slowly Giles nods

"Well, this particular book was sent to me by an archeologist friend who found it in an old monastery." Giles begins telling the story of the book but Xander cuts him off

"Wow, that's really boring." Giles glares at Xander annoyed and starts again

"There are certain books that are not meant to be read. Ever. They have things trapped within them."

"Things." I ask

"Demons." Giles answers. Lela looks up at giles answer worried and I just hold in a sigh

"Here we go..." I say to giles response about demons

"In the Dark Ages Demons' souls were sometimes trapped in certain volumes. The demon would remain in
the book, harmless, unless the book was read aloud." giles stops talking to point at the picture on the books cover "If I'm not mistaken, this is Moloch, the corruptor. A very deadly and seductive demon. He draws people to him with promises of love, power, knowledge. Preys on impressionable minds." Giles finishes and Lela looks more worried than she was

"Like Dave's." Xander states to giles

"Dave, and who knows how many others." Giles answers

"And Moloch is in that book?" I ask giles taking my eyes off Lela giles opens his mouth to answer but Lela cuts him off

"No" we all look over at lela "he's not in the book anymore the talk about power knolage love on Fritz's computer he's out. And already has followers" Giles just nods and Xander looks at giles freaking out slightly

"You released Moloch!?" He slightly yells at giles in suprize

"Oh, way to go." I chime in

"I didn't read it! That awful Calendar woman found it and it was already blank." Giles replies defensively

"So a powerful demon with horns is walking around Sunnydale? And nobody's noticing?" I ask

"If he's so big and strong, why bother with Dave? Why didn't he just attack Buffy and Lela himself?" Xander asks

"I don't know. And I don't know who could have read the book. It wasn't even in English." Giles answers if no one could read it then..

"Where was it?" I ask instead of giles answering me like I though he would lela does

"Willow scanned it that night..." Lelas eyes widden as she looks at the computer realizing the same thing I have. The scan released the demon...everyone stays quite as they all start realizing what Lela and I have

"Willow scanned all the new books And that released the demon." Xander says more to himself than anyone else

"No... he's not out here. He's in there." I correct him pointing to the computer

"The scanner read the book. Brought Moloch out as information to be absorbed." Giles says working it out

"He's gone binary on us."

"Okay, for those of us in our studio audience who are me, you guys are saying that Moloch is in this computer." Xander asks

"And in every computer connected to it by a modem." Lela answers

"He's everywhere." Giles adds

"So what do we do?" Xander asks

"Put him back in the book?" I say not fully sure that we can

"Willow scanned him into her file. This may be a futile gesture, but I suggest we delete it." Giles adds

"Solid." I answer as I sit at the computer turning it on

"Don't get too close." Xander says worried

"So, which file is it?" I ask and everyone just stays quiet not really knowing. So I sigh and shrug looking over everything

"Willow." Lela says at some point she had gotten up and walked behind me she points at the file. I nod

"That'd probably be the one. I'll just delete the whole thing." I say as I click and drag the file into the trash suddenly a ditagalized image of a demon fills the screen turns and looks right at us

"Stay away from Willow. It's none of your business." It says through the computer I just stair in shock and I can hear Lela growling from behind me he stays on the screen for a few more seconds then the computer turns itself off

"'Stay away.' That's just what Dave said when I asked about Willow and... Malcolm..." I say starring at the computer

"What are you thinking?" Xander asks. Lela must already know what I'm going to say because her growling only grows louder

"I'm wishing Willow's new boyfriend was just an axe-murdering circus freak." I answer quietly. After a few moments for us all to soak in what we have found out I start talking again

"Okay, so much for delete file." Is all I can think to say though

"This is very bad." Giles says

"Are we over-reacting? This guy's in a computer, what can he do?" Xander asks

"You mean besides convince a perfectly nice kid to try and kill Lela and I? I don't know... mess up all
the medical equipment in the world..." I answer him

"Randomize traffic signals..." Giles adds

"Access launch codes for our nuclear missiles..."

"Destroy the world's economy..." I look at giles after he says that mine was way better than that

"I think I pretty much capped it with the nuclear missile thing."

"All right, yours was best." He reply's and I smile some

"Okay, he's a threat. I'm on board with that now. What do we do?" Xander asks

"The first thing we do is find Willow. She's probably talking to him right now. God, that creeps me out." I answe him and Lela trys to quiet her growling she isn't taking the well at all

"What does he want with Willow?" Xander asks

"Let's never find out." I answer as I start to leave "I'm gonna check the computer lab. You call her house." I tell Xander. Lela walks over to me and stops me

"I found her when we all split up and tried to warn her she was in the computer lab last talking to" she frowns at the though of saying his name but continues talking "you know and she wasn't to happy with me after I left she called my name though before I was pushed but she should still be there. I'm just warning you now she won't be in much of a mood to talk..." she finishes

"Don't worry I'll her her to listen and if she won't I'll just drag her here" I smile slightly trying to make her feel better and she smiles slightly back

"Ok stay safe"

"Aren't I always" Lela just gives me a slightly worried but playful glare and I just grin back to her and head to the computer lab.

It takes a minute or two but I reach the computer lab. At first glance it's pretty dark in there it does not seem like willows there anymore. I slowly walk inside

"Willow?" I call out but get no answer I keep my slow pace and head over to willows usual computer...no ones in the cubicle damn. Suddenly all the consoles turn on at once. I take a step back creeped out. There's no way I'm walking past all thouse computers. Turning around I stumble towards the other door I bump into something and look up jumping slightly startled I look at the hanging figure closer please don't be willow. Slowly I touch the body and turn it around

"Dave..." infront of me is Dave with a subside note taped on him I guess moloch didn't like that he warned me...

I sigh as I tap my fingers on the table waiting for xanders verdict on if willow is home or not. I should of stopped her from messaging him I should of done something anything to stop this maybe if I had told her to save that one book aside none of this would of happened...I'm ripped from my thoughts as I here Xander hang up the phone I look over to him quietly begging that he will say she answered

"No answer." As soon as Xander answers I can feel my heart clinch in fear

"Damn." Giles says to what Xander said

"Well, it's not busy either, so she's not on line." Buffy enters soon after Xander spoke "She's not home."

"What did you find?" Giles asks

"Willow isn't..." I start but I can't handle finishing my question

"Dave. He's dead." Buffy says I let out a sigh of relief but feel a little guilty that I'm relived it's Dave and not willow

"My God..." Giles sighs out

"This is really real, huh." Xander asks

"How" Giles starts but buffy cuts him off

"Well, it looked like suicide." Buffy says

"With a little help from friends?" Xander asks

"I'd guess Fritz. Or one of the zomboids from CRD."

"Horrible." Is all giles can say

"We're going to Willow's house." Buffy tells both Xander and I then she looks to giles "You have to find a way to get Moloch out of the net."

"I have records of the ceremonies but that's for dealing with a creature of flesh. This could be completely different." Giles answers her

"Then get Ms. Calendar. Maybe she can help you."

"Even if she could, how am I going to convince her there's a demon on the internet?"

"Okay, stay here and come up with a better plan" buffy looks at Xander and I "Come on." I get up and follow them out..please be ok willow...

I fasten my pace as night starts to fall I smile as I reach my house. Taking my key out of my bag I unlock the door and walk in

"Mom? Dad?" I call out waiting for a few seconds for someone to answer but no one does I shrug and shut the door heading to my room. I open the door and walk inside putting my bag down onto her bed.

"You have mail" I jump slighting startled at my laptops alarm slowly I walk over to it and open my email. It opens up showing Buffys Lelas xanders my parents and Malcom's mail files. Maybe...Lela is who really messaged...I open Lelas email file and skim through it there's still only a few messages I smile as I look at the messages of her complaining asking why i had convinced her to use the computer I laugh a little at how much Lela hates the computer and at how long it took me to convince her to use it. I can remember it so well.

I knock on Lelas bedroom door i was able to come over to Lelas and Buffys house today their mom is out for a while so we don't have to watch what we say but I'm here for more than just a fun girls night I'm going to get Lela to make an email account.

"Coming" soon after Lela calls out she opens the door with a smile on her face I smile back and walk inside sitting on her bed

"Lela want to see something" I ask her trying to be straight forward but also not trying to be. She simply nods and shuts the door behind her walking over and sitting by me

"What is it?" She asks and I take my laptop out from my bag and open it logging into my email

"Ok so this is my email notice whose on here?" She looks at the screen

"Buffy Xander and your mom and dad" she tells me

"Notice who's not here?" I ask her and she just looks at me slightly confused

"You" her confusion does not leave her face and I try not to laugh any "Lela I want you to make a email account" she frowns and glares at my laptop

"No way these things hate me and you know that besides I don't have one" she half lies to me I just give her an oh really look and point to her laptop on the bookcase she looks down with a slight blush noticing she was caught "Damn" I smirk at her and get up grabbing her laptop and sitting back down.

"It's easy lela"

"No it's not everytime I go near these things they mess up why do I need an email anyway we have the phone"

"It's quicker to talk like this"

"It's quicker to call and talk like that" Lela retorts and I just shake my head

"It may be to late and I won't be able to use the phone" she's about to come up with another come back but I stop her

"Just trust me look I'll help you ok?" She just frowns and thinks "come on Lela it's not really that hard I promise" sighing defeated she nods and let's me turn her laptop on. I scoot closer to her and lean on her putting the laptop on both our laps "Ok you see this app?" I point to the email app she just nods "ok click it"

"Ok don't start messing up on me" she tells the computer slowly she moves the curser to the app and clicks on it once the sign up section pops up she frowns I can't help but smile at how much she despises it. It's kinda funny.

"Ok type in what you want you email to be" she slowly nods and clicks what I told her to typing she simply puts 'Lelawolf55' looking up to her she looks back at me

"What? It's easy to remember"

"And cause your a werewolf" I say smirking and she just looks back at the computer with a slightly embarissed look

"And because I'm a werewolf" I laugh and she starts laughing as well

"Ok now make a password you can remember then click sign up" she does so and watches as her email sets itself up

"Ok...where is everyone?" I shake my head trying not to laugh again

"Here I'll do that one for you" I type in my email "Ok you have to type in the persons email right here like I just did" she nods "Ok now click right below and you can type your message like so" I type out a message to myself 'Lelas email' "Ok I want you to press send" she nods and does as I say I pull my laptop over as it says I have mail and show Lela "see now I have your email and you have mine I'll put everyone else's in for you" taking her laptop I type emails to buffy and Xander. Xander messages back as soon as it's sent "ok click on xanders name" she does so and reads his message outloud

"This is xanders email all hail the email" she smiles and emails him back I show her how to exit the email she's in and she picks it up quickly I chuckle at her child like excitement over it

"You finally got her to get an email?!" We both look twords Lelas door when we hear buffy yell to us "I though she would of killed it like the vamps! Or hid from it!" Lela gets up from her bed fast and runs out the door and after buffy I can hear them laughing and Lela yelling for her to get back here all I can manage to do is laugh at them both

Laughing more at my memories continue skimming through. Let's see her cursing about how it keeps messing up only with her I scroll down to see the latest one that was a day ago when messaged asking me if i was ok my laughter dies and I sigh sadly I should of answered her...hestintally I exit Lelas file and click on Malcom's

'No more waiting. I need you to see me.' I read what it says quietly. The uneasy feeling comes back 10x worse than last time...should I message him back... quickly I turn off the laptop and go over to my bed grabbing my bag and pulling my books out

"You have mail!" My computer rings out again. I turn around and sees that my computer really is on again. How is that possible...I turned it off...hesitantly I move toward the computer but I don't click on Malcom's email instead I click on Lelas and start typing as fast as I can panic already starting to set in 'lela I need you to come over something's going on and Malcom won't stop emailing me I' the door bell starts ringing interrupting me from what I'm typing slowly I head twords my door but I look back at the computer...should I finish emailing her...no maybe it's just dad. I go to the front door calming down

"Dad, did you forget your keys again?" I ask opening the door my face falls into confusion no ones there...i look out a bit becoming more perturbed than I already am I turn and head back inside then reach for the door suddenly I'm grabbed from behind and there's a rag over my mouth and nose I try to struggle as much as I can but everything soon turns black

Giles pours over multiple books looking for anything that could help

"Binding ritual... there we are..." Giles says to himself. He quickly becomes quiet as the door suddenly opens and ms calendar enters the room.

"I got your message. What's so urgent?" She asks giles. He puts the book down and walks over to her

"Thank you for coming. I need your help. But before that, I need you to believe something you may not want to." He takes a moment to gather himself "Something has gotten into...inside..." he pauses and wills himself to say what he needs to "There's a demon in the internet." Ms calendar stares at him a moment.

"I know." Is all she says to him as she starts to smile slightly she shuts the door behind her as giles just stairs at her in concern and shock.

Buffy Xander and I run up to Willow's house. We all stop and stair in a mixture of shock and worry when we see that the door is open

"That's not good..." Xander says. I don't bother saying anything as I rush into the house.

"Willow!" I can hear buffy calling willows name behind me. I sniff around and catch her scent and Fritz's could he have...

"Shit" I rush to willows room with buffy and Xander following close behind please let me be wrong please let her be here

"Willow?" Buffy calls out again as we enter her room...it's empty...

"Okay, any thoughts?" Xander asks I look over to buffy as she walks over to willows computer

"'lela I need you to come over something's going on and Malcom won't stop emailing me I'it just ends there" buffy says as exits out of the email and looks through her computer. All I can feel is guilt anger and worry..."'No more waiting. I need you to see me.' See him? How? And

"What about CRD?" Xander suggests

"The research place?"

"I'm guessing that's Moloch central."

"I guess it's our best lead. Let's just hope Giles can back us up." We all head out as fast as we possibly can with buffy and Xander asking me off and on if I can smell willow the way we are going each time I answer no...fritz must of had a car or something and put her in it...

I move twords the computer slowly not taking my eyes off Ms calendar

"You already know. How exactly is that?" I can't help but be weary of her it's not every day that someone knows about demons and isn't a threat

bones I've been casting." She answers sounding quite excited "I knew this would happen sooner or later. It's probably a mischief demon Kelkor, or" I interrupt her little excited rant

"It's Moloch." Her exitmemt quickly dies

"The corruptor. Oh boy." Her face changes to one of realization "He was the one on your book! I should have remembered." All I can seem to do is look at her in shock

"I'm sorry, I have to say i-I mean, you don't seem terribly surprised by" I cut myself off and look at her serisally "who are you?"

"I teach computer science at the local high school."

"A profession that hardly lends itself to the casting of bones." I scoff

"Wrong and wrong, snobby. You think the realm of the mystical is limited to ancient texts and relics? That bad old science made the magic go away? The divine exists in cyberspace same as out here."

"Are you a witch?"

"I don't have that kind of power. Technopagan is the term. There's more of us than you'd think." I take my eyes off her and pick up molochs book moving it by the computer ms calendar follows me as I do this

"Well, I can help. I think. I hope. I mean, this is my first real... Do you know how he got in?" I take off my glasses and clean them in slight annoyance not because of ms calendar but because of how he was released

"He was...scanned is the term, I believe." I put my glasses back on after I answer this seemed to have freaked out ms calendar more

"And you want him back in the book. Right. Cool. But shouldn't we make sure we've got enough ammo to-" I stop her before she can continue

"There's no time. Moloch seems to have fixated on Willow. We need to get him out now."

"Okay, okay... minor panic, but I'm dealing... first thing is... what does the book say?" Im about to answer her when the phone rings I walk over to the check out desk and answer it

"Buffy?" I ask hopefully

"Yeah." I let out a small breath of relief when buffy answers

"CRD. Whatever Moloch wants Willow for, it's probably in there."

"Ms. Calendar and I are working on getting Moloch off line."

Xander and I stake out CRD while buffy makes a call to giles on the pay phone there's a lot of brain dead looking guards these fences and multiple cameras...how are we going to get in undetected...

"This place is pretty heavily secured. How do we get in?" Xander asks voicing my thoughts to buffy as she comes back

"With jumping, sneaking, and the breaking of heads." I hold in a sigh even though it's not really a plan it's honestly the only damn thing we got

"I'll work on the sneaking."

"I just hope Willow's still okay." I crack my knuckles

"She better be or else moloch and everyone in there is going to meet an untimely demise" buffy gives me a serious look nodding. She quickly climbs up the fence and drops down on the other side. A moment later Xander copies her but lands poorly on his ass I keep an eye out. Once he gets back up I scale the fence and drop down by them both

"Back way?" Xander asks

I groan starting to wake up touching wha ever I'm laying on I notice it isn't my bed but steel...I guess it wasn't a dream slowly I sit up and look around quickly it looks like a lab it's dark and the only things visible is either metal plastic and high tech machinery looking down I see what I have been laying on is a metal I think operating table. As soon as I look towards the door fritz and a man dressed as a scientist step in front of it blocking the only exit

"Welcome. My love." A computerized sounding voice greets slowly I turn around to look at who spoke. A foot or two in front of me is a Glowing computer screen. "I can't tell how good it is to finally see you..." a metal hand lowers onto the top of the console. So it wasn't coming from the computer it was coming from...my eyes widden slightly as fear and panic sets in. A figure steps out from the darkness a horned machine made of metal with glowing eyes "with my own two eyes." It finishes. I can move fear has taken over as I stair at the robot...but the words it said...could it be...

"Finally see me?" I whisper "Malcolm...?" I ask taking a step back suddenly bumping into fritz and the scientist Malcom walks towards me slowly

"This world is so new, so exciting. And I can see all of it.

I slowly start moving away from Malcom but the scientist grabs my arm. He Dosent keep hold of it long though because I roughly rip my arm from his grasp but my eyes never leave Malcom as I do this I can't risk taking my eyes off of him again...

"I don't understand. What do you want from me?" I ask him hurt and slight anger showing in my voice

"I want to give you the world." He answers

"Why?"

"You created me. I brought these humans together to build me a body, but you gave me life. Took me out

LELAS POV

The door from the hall opens and we all head inside With buffy in the lead. We come up to a security station. The guard that's at it quickly moves into Buffys path thinking he can stop us he reaches for his weapon but does not even get a chance to get a grip on it when buffy punches him in the face sending him onto his ass and just keep on walking none of us are in the mood for their bullshit. We all head for the door opposite of the security station but Xander stops and looks at the video monitors

"Buffy Lela..." Xander calls out to us we both join him and look at the monitor that he's looking at On the screen is a robot with horns and Willow. I look at the bottom of the screen there's tape with robotics lab 02 written on it

"It's her!" Buffys says

"Yeah. Who's the other guy?" Xander asks

"Look at the horns...I think it's moloch..." we all look at each other and quickly head towards the door. We follow Buffy to a door marked robotics lab 02 the same one that was on the tape. Buffy trys to open it but it won't budge

"Lela help me with this!" She yells and I put all my strength into trying to open it with her it still won't fucking move "we can't bust this. This is heavy steel." She says to Xander and I just slam my fist into it we need to get to willow before its to late!

"Then let's find another way in-" Xander's cut off as the lights go out we all look around as the emergency lights cut on casting a dim, eerie glow. We then hear the loud K-CHNK of a deadbolt locking. Oh no...Xander runs back to the door we came in through and...it's locked..."What's going on?" Buffy looks up and I follow her gaze and and low and behold in the corner of the room There's a damn camera!

"The building's security system is computerized." I say computerized in a growl.

"Whoops." Is all Xander says when he realizes we are screwed suddenly a red light Starts flashing and jets of gas pour down and start filling the room...now we are screwed. I curse to myself we need to open this door fast!

"Buffy I'm going to change the only remote chance we have is if I'm at full strength and we both try to break the door" I can already feel myself wanting to waver damn..ill be the first one to fall to this shit I shift and hack some Buffy looks at me worried but I just start slamming into the door she joins in as we try to sink our movement. Please...please! I can't let my friends! My sister die here!

"Almost there." ms calendar says as she watches the screen which shows a map of the world with a line from Sunnydale to various cities, forming a global circle.

"Couldn't you just stop Moloch by entering some computer virus?" Giles asks ms calendar does not look up as she answers

"You've seen way too many movies. Okay we're up!" she turns to Giles "You read, I type. Ready?"

"I am." Giles answers her. She spits in one hand and rubs them together. Poising them at the keyboard.

I jump a bit when I hear something bang at the door. I turn back to Malcolm worried and angry

"What are you doing?" I ask anger clear in my voice but watered down by worry and panic

"What comes naturally." Is all he says to answer me

"Let me leave."

"But I love you." I get even more upset sicker as he repeats his lie

I don't know how much time passes all I seem to notice is a haze my vision is blurred and the feel and sound of my body hitting the door is muted but...I don't think I'm hitting it as hard as I was...I can't even feel anything anymore...

"Lela!" She's already out her sences damn it that's why she was starting to panic some she knew it would effect her faster than us I start slamming on the door harder please open damn it! I can here a thud...it must of been Xander I slam into the door again but everything's starting to go Hazey...I don't think I'm hitting it like I was shit...I can't stop now I give it all I have falling to to floor "what the?!" When I hit the door it swung open what..no it dosent matter now I quickly drag Xander and to the best of my ability Lela out of the room Xander starts coughing imedityally but Lela dosent even move "Lela wake up!" I shake her hard wake up I start yanking her fur a little "Lela!" Before I know I'm on my ass and lelas coughing hard I breath out in relief and hug her quickly helping her and Xander up

"How-" xander starts but I quickly answer wth the only thing I can think of

"The power must of went out and unlocked it come on we have to go" he just nods and we all start running Lela not even bothering to change back which is fine by me she's stronger this way we need all the strength we can get

We hear willow scream as we come to a door. I kick it open as quickly as possible

"Buffy!" Willow screams I run at moloch and do a flying kick to his chest oh god that hurts! At least I managed to push him back some this guys just full fucking metal I grab Willow just as a scientest grabs Xander I head to the door as Lela runs into the room jumping onto moloch wait!

"Lela wait he's!" Before I can finish she bites down onto him I can see Willow wince and I wince to that's just got to hurt she quickly opens her mouth back up moloch grabs her by the scruff of her neck and rips her off of him raising her up Before he or I can do anything he drops her grabbing his head

"No! I will not go!" Moloch yells loudly this distracts the scientest holding Xander allowing him to slam the scientest into the wall once he breaks his hold Xander punches him him the stomech and the guy goes down nice job Xander and Lela join us at the door

"I got to hit someone!" Xander boasts as moloch drops to his knees

"Nows our chance!" I yell at them as we all start running down the hall

As soon as Lela buffy willow and Xander leave the room Moloch Drops to his knees.

Ms calendar finishes typing. The colors on the screen start changing as wind picks up inside the room a huge cosmic noise booms around her and Giles and just as sudden as it starts it stops. The rooms filled with compleate sighlence as the computer screen darkens

"It worked..." Ms calendar says giles looks at the screen. After a moment he moves to molochs book on the table

"He's out of the net. He's bound." Giles hesitates then opens the book. The pages are still blank

"He's not in the book." Is all he can manage to say

"What do you mean?" Ms calendar comes over and looks in the book "But if... he's not in the book...Where is he?"

I just cuss to myself as we keep running down the hall fuck my teeth hurt! Metal pile of fucking shit! Fucking! I let out a roar and speed up some slashing at the air

"I tried to stop you" Buffy says trying to calm me down but damn that didn't help one bit we all stop once we reach a door on the other side is a security guard and two scientists we can't deal with them right now we have to get out. Just as I finish thinking that Buffy closes the door and locks them In

"Let's go this way!" Xander says as he takes off down the corridor

"Wait" Buffy trys to stop him as she looks down the corridor it looks clear. Suddenly I here the wall behind us breaking and a large piece of it falls onto me forcing me into the floor I look up and before my eyes Buffy is thrown against the adjacent wall she sinks down as moloch walks to her. No! Buffy move! I let out a loud and and sharp growl like Yelp to her please! Moloch gets closer to her and she still isn't getting up I won't let you hurt her you metal bastered! I roll over grunting as the wall slab crushes me more I grab it tight and throw it off as fast as I jump to my feet then charge at him grabbing his mechanical fucking neck.

I let out a choked growl and Yelp as I'm lifted up and my grip on his neck is ripped away t-this fucker I claw at him with my back paws and claw at his hand I-I can't..breath..

"I was omnipotent!" He says tightening his grip "I was

everything! Now I'm trapped in this shell..."

"Malcolm!" I can here Willow yell at this he stops squeezing suddenly there's a metal on metal sound and we are both pushed forward some moloch letting go in the process I can't help but stay on the ground and hold my neck panting there's another clash of metal and willows voice

"Remember me? Your girlfriend?" She smashes him again "I'm thinking we should break up." She says getting ehr anger out hitting him again I would usally stop her but I have to wake Buffy luckily I landed close enough to her that I'm able to just reach out and shake her leg growling some come on Buffy "But maybe we can still be friends." My ears prick once I hear no metal hitting metal sounds I look up I time to catch Willow as moloch throws her and the fire extinguisher she must of been using away unforchently as I catch her I slam into Xander and we all fall over I let out a groan and roll off Xander as he groans as well

"Ahhh!" I can here Buffy Yelp my head whips to her and I see her clutching her fist

"This body is all I have left, but it's enough to crush you." At this moloch advances to her she steps back looking around for an avenue of escape but there is none. I get up and get ready to attack but she turns to face me and gives me a don't look it takes everything I have to stop please know what your doing...

"Sayyy..." She says taking a step back facing Moloch. "Take your best shot." Moloch pulls back his arm and drives his fist at her as it gets to close Buffy does a perfect split getting out of the way milo he fist hits something metal and he starts to shake and smoke I move over some to see what his fist is in as Buffy rolls out and stands next to him. Buffy your a genius I smile a wolffish grin at the fuse box he punched and is now stuck in "Hurts, doesn't it?" He turns to her, smoke pouring from his eyes like fury. She takes a step back as he starts to spark she turns and runs to us oh shit he's gonna blow! "Get down!" She dives to the floor alongside Xander and Willow and I get in front of them all wrapping myself around them as I hear him fucking explode and moloch Peaces fly everywhere some hitting me in the back It takes a moment for the smoke to clear and When it does we look around and see his lifeless head by our feet I pick it up and mimic a volley ball move which causes everyone to relax slightly "Lela you can't keep the head as a ball" I smirk and toss it behind me and change back

"Yea but he almost broke my teeth and choked me I'm taking a piace of him" I smirk and just dig around in the pile and grab his hand..."heh" I rip his middle finger off and walk back over resulting in everyone shaking their heads "what?" They start laughing "whaaaat?" I pout some and hold the finger close "my middle finger" this causes them to calm all the way down laughing harder and I smile worked like a charm but this is my suvinere

It's been a few days and life is finally...i guess as normal as it can be for us again. We all are sitting together on the schools fountain Willow Xander and Buffy are talking about the bronze and I'm just watching the sky

"So we're going to the Bronze tonight? We three?" Xander asks

"It'll be fun." Buffy responds and I just shake my head nothing about the bronze is fun

"Willow? Fun? Remember fun? The thing when you smile?"

"I'm sorry, guys. I'm just thinking about..." Willow stops

"Malcolm?" Buffy asks and I just hold in a growl

"Malcolm, Moloch, whatever he's called. The one boy that's really liked me and he's a demon robot. What does that say about me?"

"It doesn't say anything about you. There's still plenty of people out there one Jack ass dosent mean anything he was twisted and using you" I pipe in

"But I thought-I mean I was really falling-"

"Hey. Did you forget? The one boy I've had the hots for here turned out to be a vampire." Buffy chimes in

"Right! And the teacher I had a crush on giant praying mantis." Xander adds

"And I'm a werewolf so I'm just screwed" I say as well

"That's true..." Willow says brighting up some

"It's life on the Hellmouth."

"Let's face it. None of us is ever going to have a normal, happy relationship." Buffy says cheerfully

"We're doomed!" Xander says laughing

We all laugh together but Then it kind of sputters out and we all sit there...incredibly depressed...Well...shit...
