The poll is now closed! And the winner of the poll is...
#1. Vergil
#2. Sephiroth
#3. Kratos
So, it looks like Vergil's persona is gonna be rewriting Saito's persona after being nearly killed by Louise's Father. Derf's gonna get a huge makeover at this as well, and Demons will appear, as Reconquista will be more power-hungry like the DmC's Mundus group.
If I'm gonna be honest about the latest release from the Devil May Cry series, the DmC? The only good elements there are the bad guys, and vergil being slightly humanitaristic except the end. I mean, how they manipulated Dante's violent nature after the murder of his mother, so that they could control the entire city? Very cunning, unlike the previous Devil May Cry games where the bad guys just throw cannon fodder enemies at the good guys, just so the good guys kill them while looking good at it.
Anyhow, back to the story. Saito would be like the Zero no Tsukaima version of Castlevania's Soma Cruz, but instead of being an incarnation of Dracula, he'll be the incarnation of Vergil Sparda instead, his hair won't turn white at the beginning though. That's after the time skip.
So, here it is, as promised, the Valentine's Edition (and farewell edition) of Revenge of the Zero Familiar.
Disclaimer is always implemented, as I don't own all of these.. only the idea of the fic.
The City of Tristain were celebrating in full festive glory, after winning the war with the Organization Reconquista. Citizens from Tarbes, Albion, even Germania has flocked to the capital to rejoice, winning their survival against the war that could've wiped out Halkegenia. Men, women, and children sing and dance to the streets, laughter, jokes (beer included) were heard from full taverns all across the nations.
But, apart from that, only a few individuals didn't feel like celebrating this joyous occasion.
An individual was seen kneeling at a tombstone on a nearby hill, surrounded by the forest around the a burned down manor. The figure's face was hidden under a hood, sobs could be heard from it.
"Mother... Sisters..." choked the figure. Removing the hood, it revealed the forlorn face of Louise no name. She had grown into a beautiful lady, but her left eye had been permanently blinded during the war, so she covered it with a blue eyepatch. She never did have her breasts grow, but her petite appearance made her into one of the most desirable ladies in the realm.
Before the war erupted, Karin had found out her husband's involvement with the Reconquista, including marriage contracts of all three daughters to nobles involved in the group as well. In addition to that, those nobles were sick rapists, but the organization needed them for their influence within the three countries. Knowing the fate of her three daughters, she help them escape the manor, but were ambushed. Cattleya was killed in the ensuing assault from their father and his bodyguards, Eleanore and Karin stayed back to stall them long enough to let Louise escape. After a day, the third daughter returned and saw their family manor burned to the ground, and bodies scattered around, with Karin and Eleanore succumbed to their wounds. Louise became the last scion of the De La Valliere.
But she didn't want to carry her father's name any longer.
So she let go of her family name, and let go of her past, and carried her mother's and sisters' bodies towards the woods of their former Manor, and buried them there with dignity. She didn't use magic (nor dared to, as she was afraid her failed casting might destroy the bodies), she dug a proper grave for her family. After managing it, she then joined Henrietta, who reluctantly allowed her to fight in the front lines.
After calming down, and setting a bouquet of flowers on her family's grave, she then stands up and looked around, feeling that someone was watching her. Moments later, a shadowy figure emerged from the trees, carrying a large black steel coffin on it's back. Louise gasped. This was the legendary Devil Coffin, the one who managed to fought Reconquista and killed many corrupt nobles.
"It's been a long time, Louise." said the cloaked figure, removing his hood revealing her former familiar Saito. His spiky black hair now had crimson highlights on it, and his cold eyes showed no emotion. He now stood a little over 6'9" in height, and gained muscle that would put the most athletic bods to shame, without looking like a Hulk.
"Yes it has. I almost lost count on how much time has passed since the day the Duke Valliere almost murdered you." sighed Louise. It has been no secret that the former Valliere child hated her former father. Rumors have spread on how Louise killed everyone in the Valliere Manor and burned it down, after her father killed her mother and sisters, some say that Louise is the sole survivor of the Valliere Massacre. In the end, only one truth remains: that Louise hated her former father with a vengeance.
Looking at the grave, Saito puts down the large coffin aside before coming closer to the tombstone until he was beside the petite woman. "I don't blame you for what happened, you know." said Saito, squatting in front of the grave before dusting the tombstone a bit. "We couldn't know the man made a sudden appearance after the party all those years ago. If you want to blame someone, blame him." he added, before standing up.
Louise let out a sigh of relief she had been holding when Saito went near her, but soon realized that how he said it..
It was like any and all bridges of their relationship burned long ago with no chance of return.
Letting out another sigh, Louise turned to the black-clad, ultimate mercenary. "You know, the Queen is still looking for you." said Louise, adjusting the cloak around her body. "Out of all of us, she never lost hope in wanting to see you again." she added, pulling out her cane wand from under her cloak.
"I see you have mastery over your Void Magic." whistled Saito, as Louise conjured a flower ring from nothing, and had it land on the gravestone. "No more Louise the Zero.." he chuckled.
"I'm still Louise the Zero, you know." smirked the pink-haired wanderer. She then turned around, and walked away from the grave and Saito. "I'm just more proficient in Void Magic." She then vanished in a flash of light. Saito chuckled again.
"Same as always, you petite mage."
Meanwhile, at Tristain Castle, reformed nobles and militia men gathered and celebrated in the victory and survival of their realm against Reconquista, but Queen Henrietta didn't care.
She had blossomed into a beautiful woman that almost rivalled a goddess with her beauty. many suitors tried to win her hand, but she declined them. Only one man had captured her heart, and he was not here. They had almost lost the war with so many casualties, until the ultimate mercenary, the Devil Coffin made an appearance, and decimated the nobles working with Reconquista. No spells could harm the coffin-wielding mercenary, as he bashed through their ranks, and saving her nation.
But, even the Devil Coffin didn't capture her heart, oh no.
It was Saito.
She had become depressed after being informed of what happened at the Academy, and almost shut herself off when she heard news that Saito died saving a town that was being ravaged by bandits and rogue nobles. When war was on the horizon, she stepped up into a figure intent on saving her country. Traitors within ranks were executed upon her word, and even her mother, the late former Queen Alicia became worried for her wellbeing.
She was at her room, getting ready for bed when she felt that she's not alone. Grabbing her staff, she pointed at a shadowy corner of her room. "Who are you? Show yourself" she snarled, her magic gathering at the tip of her staff.
"It has been a while, Princess."
Startled at the seemingly familiar voice, she dropped her staff, as Saito emerged from the shadow, clad in black with his hood up. "Or should I call you Queen now?" he added, removing his hood.
Henrietta couldn't believe her eyes. She slowly reached out to him. "Is this real? Are you alive?" she whimpered, almost touching him now. How she had longed for this day that the black-haired familiar of Louise returned to her arms.
Saito just chuckled. "I'm not Guiche in disguise. He's too short to imitate me." he added while chuckling. Then, the unthinkable happened.
SLAP!
Saito was almost decked at the powerful slap the Queen gave him. "Alright, I deserved that." he sighed.
Soon, Henrietta was on his chest, banging on it with her fist, sobbing uncontrollably. "Why!? Why did you leave?!" she sobbed, grief overcame her, as her emotional walls crumbled down, unveiling her emotions to him. "Why!" she cried.
Saito hugged the crying Queen. "I couldn't stay as I am. I didn't want to leave, but the issue with the Valliere was the final straw." He sighed, brushing his gloved hand on her magenta hair. "I was too weak to help anyone, so I escaped and went away for awhile." he added.
"But why didn't you stay here with me? I could've provided you with the best training we have!" cried Henrietta, feeling his hand on her hair.
"Because I don't want you to be involved incase Valliere come knocking at that time. You were Royalty, and I was just a commoner." said Saito, still caressing her hair. "Adding the fact that I was too weak to even protect you might get you in trouble with the nobles at that time since there maybe a traitor in the midst."
"But I don't care about that. I'd give up my royal blood just to spend time with you." sobbed Henrietta, calming down a bit. "I love you Saito! I didn't realized it before, and it took me hearing the news that you died... that I love you so much, that I can't live without you."
"Henrietta.." sighed Saito, before letting go of her. She then noticed on what Saito was wearing. Looking behind him, she saw a large black coffin lay on the wall there, before lookibg at him again. "You're...!" began Henrietta.
"Yes. I am the Devil Coffin, wanted in every nation for killing the 'nobles' of society." said Saito. Henrietta gasped. Saito is the Devil Coffin, the notorious mercenary that slaughtered the Reconquista forces unscathed... until she realized, she didn't care about it.
"You maybe the Devil Coffin, but you're still my Saito. and that's all that matters." smiled Henrietta, before hugging him. "I love you, my Chevalier Saito." she added, with tears of joy this time.
"And I love you, my Hime Henrietta." replied Saito, smiling back, before the two kissing in the dark bedroom with only the moon as light from the window.
Years later
Peace prospered at Halkegenia, with only a bit of monster attacks here and bandit attacks there, but there's no war brewing on the horizon.
Louise no name had returned to Tristain after her self-inposed exile to reconcile with the Queen. The two made up once again, and the Queen appointed her as Chief Advisor to the Throne.
Charlotte, formerly named Tabitha, was appointed the Head Librarian of the newly made Tristain Archive Library after the war. It was funny to Henrietta and Saito to see Tabitha almost broke character when the blue-haired librarian sputtered when she saw Saito alive and well, before collapsing into his arms and cried, while thanking Brimir that he's alive. She became lively ever since... well, as lively as her facial expression permitted actually.
Kirche stayed behind at the Academy to teach along with Prof. Colbert. Her strict and no-nonsense attitude was a result of hearing that Saito 'Died', and tried to cope up with the loss. Instead of finding passion in love, she instead found passion in teaching. She have mastered her Fire Magic so much, that she became the second Karin, only this time her moniker became Kirche of the Blazing Inferno. She's also dating prof. Colbert.
Guiche and Montmorency had died in the war. It was during the second assault on Albion, that they were stationed there. They had managed to hold on hold out until reinforcements arrive in a form of Louise and her platoon, but it was too late. Albion was saved, but both Guiche and Montmorency succumbed into their wounds after finishing off their invaders. They died with a smile, knowing that they have at least saved some people.
Agnes became the commander of the Tristain Police force. After the war, Henrietta abolished the military force, stating that no nation is to hold a military. She and the rest of the Musketeer Squad were voicing their concerns... until Henrietta made a move and created the Police Force, an idea from Saito. Now, her sworn duty is to help the public by enforcing the law against criminals and bandits.
Siesta?...Well, she became a Royal Head Cook, and personal maid to Henrietta and Saito. After the 'death' of Saito, she became lost to herself. She lost her light when Saito was gone, so Henrietta took pity to the poor maid, and hired her as her personal maid. After finding out that Saito is alive and well in the castle after the war, She became ecstatic that she leapt into Saito's arms, and kissed his lips with fervor, much to Saito's chargin and Henrietta's amusement. She's the Official Royal Head Cook and Personal Maid to Henrietta and Saito... but unofficially? She's also Saito's Mistress and Henrietta's Harem sister.
Tiffania became Henrietta's Royal Sister. After the war, a lone girl was seen entering Tristain, exhausted and wounded. Henrietta then noticed this when she was doing her monthly tours on her city, so she saved the poot girl, and took her to the castle. The late Queen Alicia recognized her as one of her late husband's illegitemate child, as she recognized the facial structure and hair color of the girl. Despite being an Half-Elf, as she discovered, she adopted Tiffania, as both her and Henrietta were Half-Sisters. She then became another of Saito's mistress, when she stumbled upon one of Saito's nights with her Sister, and got mesmerized. Soon, Saito's Harem became three.
Saito married Henrietta, and together they brought Tristain into an age of peace.
The End
Yes, I put there about fact that Saito forgave Louise. I mean, it wasn't in her control that her Father suddenly showed up that night, and beat the shit upon Saito. Besides, he's not the type to hold grudges.
Also, sorry for those SaitoxLouise shippers. Many of you wanted them together at this chapter, but since this is a SaitoxHenrietta Main shipping... well, you have other fics to read.
And, I'm so sorry that this fic has come to a stop for a long time. I had problems like my Laptop broke down, and busy with work, and that pesky writer's block. Now that I'm back, I'll be working on a new fic based on this one, but this time, Saito's gonna get a more familiar approach on how to deal with a Devil-Cult Reconquista.
Peace Out!
