Once I calmed myself down enough, I went down stairs and rejoined the party. I watched Alois , who was pretending to be a maid, spill wine all over the front of Ciel's gown. To see Ciel again left a lump in my throat and I simply shook the feeling away and put my mask on, smiling. I mixed an mingled, being a doll to everyone I met. I came across Lady Elizabeth and her maid. I tried to avoid anyone from before, out of fear of recognition. But then I ran into Finny.

"Oh I am so sorry miss...Miss. Avril!? What happened? Sebastian said you died! How are you alive?"Finny said, nearly shouting.

I put a finger to his lips and held his gaze for a moment.

"Shhh. The young master, remember? He mustn't know of me at all. Please keep me a secret. Sebastian told what he did because he is a cranky butler who needs a drop of alcohol in his tea every once in a while. I had to leave. I am to work here now. Now please, keep quiet and don't talk about me. Understood. Finny?" I said kindly, but fierce.

He nodded, gave me a light hug, and ran off. I shook my head and smiled at him. Hannah called to me and I knew it was time. I let Hannah get the instrument out, a sort of demonic instrument to lull any human into a chaotic trance. Hurting anyone and everyone in their path. Even though the product did wonders on its own, it needed and extra sound to match with it, to ensure control once heard. That was where I came in. This was all apart of Alois ' plan to get Ciel. Ciek came quietly, or Hannah and I would put on our little show. Everyone would die. It wouldn't work, but I wasn't going to say anything. Hannah began to play and all the guests reacted appropriately. Loving yet confused at first with the haunting tune, then it would hurt their ears. Once all of them where under the trance, I came out, removing my mask and stood beside Hannah, smiling. I then began my song, matching Hannah's haunting tone perfectly.

"Come Little Children,

I'll Take Thee Away,

Into A Land Of Enchantment,

Come Little Children,

The Time's Come To Play,

Here In My Garden Of Shadows.

Follow Sweet Children,

I'll Show Thee The Way,

Through All The Pain And The Sorrows.

Weep Not Poor Children,

Murdering Beauty And Passions.."

Suddenly I heard behind me, glass work, music played with classes filled with assorted amounts of water. I sensed Sebastian and fought back and annoyed look. I returned to the song, knowing between the three of us, we'd break the spell Hannah and I fought to keep.

"Hush Now Dear Children,

It Must Be This Way,

To Weary Of Life And Deceptions,

Rest Now My Children,

For Soon We'll Away,

Into The Calm And The Quiet.

Come Little Children,

I'll Take Thee Away,

Into A Land Of Enchantment,

Come Little Children,

The Time's Come To Play,

Here In My Garden Of Shadows"

I finished the song and curtsied, smiling brightly. I held my mask up and put it up, covering my face. I gazed around and watched everyone wake, feeling dazed. Turns out the Phantomhive servants had escaped our song and fought everyone off. Impressive ones they are. Even if they are all clumsy humans.

Alois Trancy entered the ballroom, wearing a vampire costume, and he apologized for his late appearance. I saw Ciel return and Sebastian stand beside him. Claude appeared and was as emotionless as ever. Him and Sebastian went outside to attend to some "businesses" and left. I heaved a sigh and walked throughout the party some more, receiving many compliments on my singing. It was all mere child's play to me. I couldn't care less about any of these people, besides my brother. However I could have him around me. It was too risky. Ciel was much better off not knowing me at all. Suddenly I felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned and saw Alois.

"Dance with me, Avril"he ordered.

I curtsied and took his hand. We danced in silence for a moment.

"Very good show tonight, Avril. I am impressed you haven't tried to speak with Ciel. He heard you singing and he muttered your name. Wonder if he's remembering anything. Would you be happy if he remembered you?" Alois asked, curious.

I shook my head.

"No actually I wouldn't. He's better of seeing me as an enemy than a sister. But no matter. Are you having a good time Lord Trancy?" I said sweetly.

He nodded then shoved me away and I ran right into someone.

"Forgive me! I didn't mean to run into like that I apologize!"I said, before seeing who bit was.

When I finally saw who it was, I wish I just walked away.

"What the hell is with the service around here? Everyone is bumping into me!" Ciel snapped, harshly.

"Lord Phantomhive. Please forgive my clumsiness. I do apologize. If there is anything I can do to make it up to you I assure you I will do it," I said, politely, even though I felt my stomach twist into knots.

"No. It is quite alright. You sang earlier correct? I've heard a voice like yours before. I just can't remember who it is. Well good performance all the same. What is your name?"Ciel asked politely.

"Avril sir. Just Avril. Pleasure to meet you Lord Phantomhive,"I said with a curtsy.

Just then Sebastian came in with Claude. They had violet roses. That meant a demonic deal had been struck. Possibly over Ciel. I fought back a sigh and my sadness. This poor boy was never to hear the end of demons messing with his head. My master called me over while Alois went to dance with Lady Elizabeth.

"Good show tonight April Showers. Most impressive. You find new ways to amaze me everyday. Maybe tonight I'll give you some solice and you can sleep for a change. Maybe. A deal has been struck. Next week we shall hold a Dance Macabre in honor of inviting the Phantomhive household into our home. Your orders: Keep both Alois Trancy and Ciel Phantomhive entertained, or ensure Alois is killed, if they do decide to have a death match. As tasty of a meal he would make,Lord Trancy is going soft. He is loosing his fragrance and your brothers grows stronger. I would rather have Ciel's soul than Alois Trancy's," my master said.

I felt shock course through me but I didn't show it outside.

"Of course master. Anything you desire," I said, emptily.

He left and I heaved a long awaited sigh, putting my mask down and leaning against a pillar. I had grown to care for the boy. A grievous mistake on my part. I supposed I signed myself up for this. Damnation here I come.

I smoothed the wrinkles out of my dress and continued to be a butterfly among the many guests. Later that evening, once everyone left and everything was cleaned up, I went to my room to prepare for my master when he came to me.

"Avril I will not require your services this evening. Sleep well, April Showers," he said and walked away.

Something was too smug about him. I went into my room and a few moments later, I discovered one reason why he was so smug. It began to rain. Thunder crashed, wind blew fiercely, rain violently hit the window, an lighting struck bright and quick. I hid in my closet and hugged my knees to my chest, tightly.

"Little child,

Be not afraid,

The rain pound harsh against the glass,

Like and unwanted stranger,

There is no danger,

I am here tonight"

I sang softly to myself, my voice trembling violently. It was a nasty storm and I felt myself let a few tears slip, out of fear or from tonight's events I wasn't sure.

After an hour or so, when the storm only got worse, "Alois" had ordered my master to put me outside for a bit. During the storm. When I inquired why, the response was I had done something wrong and needed to be punished. I didn't inquire why. My master or Lord Trancy's orders alone, it was merely for their entertainment. So I obeyed. I stood out in the rain until the storm passed, soaked to the bone and shivering. Claude watched me the entire time with that smug look on his face. They were his orders alone. Alois had nothing to do with this. I shivered and dug my nails into my cold arms every time thunder and lightning struck, but I didn't show any emotion. I emptied myself out so not to give him what he wanted. I went back inside and managed to sleep for an hour or two. Then it was time to wake up.

'Another day, wonder what events this day will bring. Who knows'
