WELCOME BACCCCCK TO CHAPTER 40! YESSSSS WE'VE FINALLY REACHED THE 40TH CHAPTER! Who would have thought, I did plan that MtKB possibly may become my longest fanfic but I didn't expect to actually come this far, is that weird? AHAHAHA so yes, anyways, I've just returned from my trip with my friend in Tokyo, I kinda got late writing the chapter because I left my laptop at home and I kinda had too much fun in Tokyo ^^ then right after coming home I realized that its the screening for Avengers: ENDGAME so instead of writing I headed to the cinema. We had tons of fun in Tokyo and I bought almost all Akashi merch in Animate in Akihabara-well when I say all I meant the ones that are still there. Unfortunately they don't have much now since the end of the anime and movies, but the I got the most recent merchandise, it is an acrylic charm which btw gets you a random A4 size picture of a KnB character of the same design(not necessarily the same character in your charm but if you're lucky *wink wink*). I looked around for ANY Furihata merchandise but they told me they were out of stock it was a bummer but that's okay-fan merch still exists so hahahaha! We went a lot of places, and hopefully we'll be going to Sendai next vacation!
So yeah, enough about me I'm so glad you guys are still with us here in MTKB! And the addition of our new characterssss! I think the Jabberwock arc is one of my most favorite arc in KnB because of the intensity of each chapter then. I also like the fact that it was the first time we actually see the GoM on the same court AS TEAMMATES since we only see like one chapter or like a flashback when they are all still together. Also I will NEVER forget Nash for reasons that guy really creeps me because one, he kinda looks like a demented version of Kise, two HE'S SO RACIST IT MAKES ME WANNA HURL ALL THE CONTENTS OF MY STOMACH OUT! Like sure, I hated Haizaki and Hanamiya but Nash and his team is in a whole new level of EVIL.
So yeah, are you guys excited? I AM ! Before I go I wanna thank everyone who commented and wished me well last update! Thank you sooooo much guys, you are the light of my lifeeee! So yeah please do let me know of what you guys think of the new chapter and our twists *wink*! PLEASE DONT FORGET TO REVIEW! I LOVE YOU GUYSSSS *sends virtual hugs and kisses*!
CHAPTER 40: FLAME
"How bad is it?"
Furihata winces at Aida's question at the young doctor sitting across them in the small private clinic inside a hospital. The man puts up an x-ray on the lit board in front of him before taking a seat to face the two. He looks down on his clipboard tapping his pen over the solid top of the board.
"What did you say happen again?" the doctor asks them.
Aida sighs and reaches to massage her temple remembering exactly how they arrived to this moment. The brunet insisted he is alright however Kuroko is convinced otherwise pointing the very nasty purple-bluish bruise in the other's wrist.
"Uhm…I tripped." Furihata answers softly and the doctor hums.
"Well that's some nasty fall." The doctor replies. "You should be careful Furihata-san."
"Is it bad?" Aida asks concerned, "Is his wrist broken?"
The doctor waves a hand in dismissal. He points at the x-ray on the board with his pen.
"It's not exactly what one would call broken, but there is a sprain which is what he can feel now." the doctor says. "Basically, sprain isn't a bone thing, it's more of muscles and ligaments. In his case the impact may have caused him to twist some muscles and land on them too harshly."
"Will uhm…is it uhm, is it going to hurt for a while?" Furihata asks nursing his bandaged wrist.
"I can prescribe some painkillers, but it should heal fine in a week if it doesn't get sprained further." The doctor says looking again at the clipboard. "Avoid moving your wrist too much, if you don't I would change your bandage to an arm sling. Please refrain from any physical activities in a week, and get back to me then so we can check again. How does that sound?"
"T-Terrible?" the brunet says making the doctor raise an eyebrow and Aida sigh.
"Well, no can do Furihata-san unless you want to make the week into a month." The doctor says with a pointed look at the brunet.
"B-But A-Aida-san, d-don't we have like uhm rehearsal a-and—"
"What did you say your work is again?" the doctor asks looking at the two.
"He's a talent." Aida answers, "I'm his, their, manager. He's in a band."
"Is he…a guitarist?"
"No," Aida says with a wave of hand, "the drummer."
The doctor nods in understanding.
"I see where lies your worry, but you really need to have your wrist healed first." The doctor tells Furihata. The brunet's expression falls at the doctor's words. "If it is truly necessary that you do a rehearsal, please limit the time and still try to not remove your bandages."
"B-But—"
"That's the best bargain I can give you Furihata-san." The doctor tells him with a wry smile. "Aida-san, I hope we have an understanding."
Aida looks at Furihata who looks distraught over the news. It won't be easy to tell the others about the news, especially when Kuroko glared at those foreign band. The teal haired musician may not be the friendliest person he but he would have not glared anyone for a simple mistake, especially with those dead cold eyes. Aida shivers remembering the look in Kuroko's eyes as they ushered Furihata up, she had not seen him look like that since he left Generation of Miracle.
They have to deal with this anyway, after all this is already set in their plate. A week is better than a month or broken bones after all, small miracles, Aida mutters to herself.
"Yes," Aida answers with a nod. "We can do that."
"B-But Aida-san—"
"No more buts Furihata." Aida tells him with a strict tone, "Be thankful I'm not banning you from rehearsals."
"But we don't have time." Furihata insists weakly. "Two day a-and it should be better, right."
"I won't risk it if I were you." the doctor says.
"I don't feel like taking that leap Furihata." Aida adds.
"I…I understand."
Aida nods and gives the brunet a kind pat to his shoulder but it doesn't help ease the brunet's tension.
"It's not permanent, it will be just a week and surely everything should be back to the normal." The doctor assures them.
Aida hopes, she has to believe after all she would not know what the rest will do if this turn anything more than just a sprain. Furihata may be in a slump after this, but Kuroko, Kagami and Takao will surely pull the hell with them and make it rain bullets if it was any worse.
"Let's be glad it's nothing serious." Aida says to the brunet.
Furihata nods unconsciously squeezing his bandaged wrist and hand. He misses the pain over the storm brewing inside his mind, he didn't want to burden anyone but now it is inevitable. He closes his eyes feeling the tears threatening to fall from them.
Meanwhile Aida prays, that in her and the brunet's absence the rest of the band is not doing something stupid…and unfortunately she is bound to be disappointed.

Tokyo is bustling, bright electronic billboards, people passing by and the loud music everywhere it is a carnival. Nash grins at the sight, half naked women dancing in the middle of the dance floor while the loud English hip-hop music vibrates through the thick posh walls of the cabaret club. Empty bottles of wine, beer and all sorts of alcohol litters the table in front of him and his band mates.
Jason laughs loudly at something Nick said while he has an arm over a woman in a bright short and fitting dress who idly listens to them speak in English. Beside them Allen drinks a bottle of beer empty while whistling at the performers on the stage while Zack simply ignores everything in favour of drinking his fill and putting his foot on the table. Nash reaches to get a bottle from the bucket when he feels Jason nudges him and gesturing ahead.
Nash's eyes gleam with interest as he finds a familiar face walking up to their booth.
"Oh what do we have here?" Nash says in heavily accented voice as unreadable icy blue eyes stares back at them.
The disco and strobe lights making the usual sky blue seem to glow into electric blue. Kuroko didn't even bother to disguise himself, wearing a plain dark pants and gray long sleeves paired with a plain white unbuttoned dress shirt he walks up to the group. He looks at them and confirms to himself they are exactly who he thought they were.
"Ah, spoiling our fun now aren't you?" Nash says lazily, "Or maybe you wanna join us? Want some beer little monkey?"
"I did not think I heard your apologies for my friend." Kuroko says without introducing himself.
Nash barks out a laugh and his friends soon joins. Jason whispers something to the woman beside him and the lady nods frantically before leaving, head hanging low. Kuroko swipes his eyes for a moment at her before turning his attention back at the group. Jason pushes himself off the seat and stands up, he takes a swig of beer before walking up to Kuroko. He towers over him but the teal haired doesn't flinch.
"Say that again?" Jason mocks him, "I can't hear your tiny monkey noises over the sound of the music. You gotta squeal louder than that if you wanna get people's attention."
The group laughs again but Kuroko doesn't waver, he remains staring at Jason with his wide blue eyes. There is no fear in them, not even a tinge of nervousness and somehow it irritates the blond leader of the band. He stands up walks up next to Jason, he glares down at the blue haired teen.
His eyes scan the teen, and it takes him a second before realizing where he had seen him. He smirks and leans forward watching his eyes turn to him unblinking.
Generation of Miracles, the almost star but never made it past their first world tour after it disbands. He remembers his face among them, sure he was younger in the videos and pictures, but there is no mistaking it. Generation of Miracles' music and members were a topic for a while in the music industry even in the States but they faded into oblivion almost as soon as it rose. Nash smirks looking at Kuroko confirming his suspicion, he's one of them.
"You're one of them, aren't you…the Generation of Miracles?" Nash asks.
Kuroko doesn't answer but Nash already knows the answer.
"Your likes pretend like you know what it takes to stand up there, but you and your annoying shit you call music is nothing but like a child trying to compose some incoherent shit on a fucking toy guitar. You think you're any closer to us, think again monkey. You…and your friends, should just go and die."
Kuroko's eyes stills, eyes darker and colder as he stares silently at Nash.
"Make us." Kuroko taunts.
Nash's eyes widen at the challenge, he feels the blood quickly boiling inside him and he quickly angles himself and kicks Kuroko by the stomach. Gasps from the gossiping staff and other customers are heard as Kuroko collided on the hard floor coughing up and wincing in pain. Before he could look up he hears distant shuffling of feet, and a faint yet familiar sound of someone calling his name.
"The fuck did you do?!"
Kuroko snaps up as he hears Kagami's familiar voice and he sees the man dashing between him and Nash in a blur. He reaches out his hand to stop the red head but before he can he feels someone holding his outstretched hand down and while another hand covers his eyes. Kuroko gasp at the absence of his sight but he smells a familiar scent coming from the person behind him.
Sound of something crashing quickly follows along Kagami's charge and then another, people were starting to panic and some customers are beginning to shout for security but the fight doesn't simmer.
"You fucking dare touch Tetsu, you son a bitch!"
Kuroko blinks despite of the loose hand covering his eyes. That voice…
The teal haired musician reaches to touch the hand covering his hands to confirm his suspicion and as soon as he does he hears the person behind him speaks.
"It's not a good sight to look at Kurokocchi."
