~*~AVRIL'S POV~*~

It was the next morning and Claude had summoned us all in the dinning room. I knew he was going to show off his leadership skills and order us all to do something based on taking Ciel's soul. Claude had told me the entire plan last night. I merely sat beside Hannah and observed the room. He changed the decor. Must be something symbolic.

"My fellows of the deep beloved darkness, look here," Claude said as he pulled out Alois' soul from a New Moon Drop box of tea.

"I present to you Alois Trancy's soul. So now that I have obtained this, what shall I do with it?" Claude asked, wanting us to guess.

Two of the triplets guessed. One guessed eating it, and the other guessed wearing it.

"Close," Claude said to the idea of eating the soul.

"Wide of the mark," was Claude's response to the idea of wearing Alois' ring.

"Avril? Hannah? Any guesses?" Claude said with a smirk.

"The mansion's decor seems to have changed," I said flatly before Hannah could respond, knowing that was the answer my master wanted.

"Precisely correct!" Claude exclaimed," I transformed the manor's color scheme! Once Navy, it is now midnight blue! The alteration itself is a subtle one. Only a select few will notice,"

Claude hopped up onto the table and began to dance around. I forced back the urge to roll my eyes at him.

'Obtaining Ciel's soul must mean more to him than his pride,'

I thought to myself. The triplets whispered among themselves.

"There souls may be fundamentally different but look closely and you will find a commonality. The pasts that color them, and that is most useful," Claude said with a smirk.

Claude then gave us assignments in what we were supposed to do. The triplets and I were to go around town at certain points, disguising ourselves as Ciel, and removing the eyes from boys that looked similar to Alois Trancy. I did as I was told. I tried as hard as I could to not look at the boys when I did what I had to. They were so terrified. However I thought about that night I was tortured for sleeping with Sebastian and I kept going. That memory was the only thing that sustained me from spilling too many more secrets to Sebastian. I had to keep my master's trust. Also it would be nice not to be tortured again.

Soon I knew that our actions would get the "Queen's" attention. And we all knew she would go straight to Ciel, the Queen's Guard Dog.

~*~CIEL'S POV~*~

It was late at night. A rainstorm had just come and gone, something I dreaded. I remember when my mother would sing me a lullaby to keep my fear at bay. I have a slim memory of someone who looked like my mother, but I knew it wasn't her, singing it to me. I just can't remember who she was. I was wide awake from the rainstorm and stood by my window, watching the clouds leave as quickly as they had come. I heard a knock at my door and turned. My door opened to reveal Sebastian, his face illuminated by candle light.

Ever since that morning I woke up on the boat with Lizzy, I have had the feeling that Sebastian was hiding something from me. Like something was missing. I sometimes had dreams, about a falling bridge, dolls, angels fighting demons, the city on fire, and they felt like memories, however I knew none of that happened.

Or did it?

"Trouble sleeping my lord?" Sebastian inquired, snapping me out of my dizzying thoughts.

"A bit perhaps. Yes. Its...This business of killing someone. It doesn't play out as one expects," I said, remembering what I was thinking about before the storm had hit.

I walked back to my bed, thinking, recalling all my thoughts.

"I had thought the process would be an easy one, but as it turns out I find it difficult to kill like you, without hesitation or honor," I said bluntly as I laid back down into my bed.

Something had shifted in Sebastian, I had noticed. Sometimes he seemed quite kind and thoughtfully towards me. Then some days, particularly after having anything to do with the Trancy's, he seemed cold and distant, as if he was hiding some big secret. It was frustrating, but then again, he was merely a demon and my servant. I wasn't supposed to know what he felt.

"I consider that a high compliment my lord," Sebastian said with a smile.

I laid in bed and thought for a moment. My thoughts were buzzing around too fast for me to sleep. I needed a distraction. I wanted Sebastian to stay in the room with me until I was asleep, but that would only cloud my mind with more thoughts of him and his frustrating emotional signals. So I pulled the covers over me and decided to make the butler squirm a little.

"Tell me a story so I can fall asleep,"I said coldly, awaiting the demon's response.

"Will a message from her majesty suffice?"Sebastian said, now closer to the bed.

I was honestly surprised by this. The Queen hadn't messaged me with anything since train assignment. What could be troubling her now in London?

~*~Third Person's POV~*~

The Queen sent a request to Earl Phantomhive requesting that he investigate the series of attacks going on in the city. Young boys were getting their eyes torn out of them.

Ciel went to investigate and after he interviewed a victim, he determined it must have been the work of Alois Trancy. As Sebastian and the boy wandered through the streets of London, they were attacked by Reapers. Sebastian hid Ciel in a box and ran off to fight the Reapers.

Whilst in the box, Ciel remembered everything he had forgotten before, after hearing a group of kids sign "London Bridge is Falling Down". He ran through the street until he thought he caught sight of Alois Trancy. He ran after the blonde boy, but only came to a wall. Police officers came over with Avril Phantomhive, in her maid attire.

Ciel claimed that Alois Trancy was the culprit, but it was no use. Avril had tricked the officers into believe Ciel was the one committing those crimes against the young boys. She took Ciel to a mental hospital from there.

~*~CIEL'S POV~*~

I was being taken away by Avril. Avril...

"What would i know of her? Why I AM her Ciel Phantomhive. Avril Phantomhive. At your service,"Avril said mockingly.

I didn't believe it. For years i had wanted a sister. The sister i barely remembered from my youth. The one who had a portrait in the attic; that i would sneak up there to see it. She looked exactly like her. I needed proof though. She tried, but i wasn't convinced until she started singing.

"Little child, be not afraid

Though rain pounds harshly against the glass like an unwanted stranger, there is no danger

I am here tonight little child, be not afraid

Though thunder explodes and lightning flashes illuminates your tear-stained face

I am here tonight and someday you'll know

That nature is so

The same rain that draws you near me falls on rivers and land

On forests and sand makes the beautiful world that you'll see in the morning,"she sang softly.

That was it. My proof. She was my sister. Nobody living today knows of that lullaby. She is the only one who could have known.

I remembered her. My sister. So why was she working against me? I thought she loved me. All the times she said she did... where they just lies?

"What happened Avril? Why are you doing this? I thought you loved me,"i said, my voice shaking.

I felt betrayed. My own family. Then again she was a demon. What else was i to expect from such loathsome creatures.

"I'm doing what i have to. Now, the doctor wants to see you,"she told me coolly as she tossed me into a square room.

The rest was blurry and painful My mind felt like it was being squashed and twisted around. I hated it. Nothing made sense. I remember being dunked into a large vat of green liquid. After that though, all went hazy.

~*~AVRIL'S POV~*~

Ciel hated me now. Even worse, he remembered who i was. That was a curve ball. I didn't think he'd remember me. He does though, which only made what i knew i had to do harder on me. I gave Ciel to Claude and went outside and waited for Sebastian to come. When he finished beating Hannah I hid. I couldn't take Sebastian now. I had to wait.

I let Sebastian pass by me and counted to fifty. I followed after him. When i got into the room, Ciel was soaking wet and retreating from Sebastian. Claude had succeeded. He won Ciel. I felt like i was being stabbed. I walked in and stood tall.

"What shall i do with this vermin master?"I asked, addressing anyone of the two men whom were my master.

"Take him away,"Ciel snapped, shaking.

"Let me handle this my lord,"Claude said to the boy.

Claude stood up and walked to me. He had an evil smile upon his face as he leaned to me. He whispered soft enough Ciel couldn't hear, but i know Sebastian could.

"Take care of our little puppy Avril. You know the drill,"He ordered.

'Torture him until i arrive. Make sure he's nice a tender when i get there. We'll break him so you two will never touch again. Sounds fun right my April Showers?'He ordered me in my head.

Again i felt a knot form in my gut as i straightened myself.

This love of mine was damned from the start, and it'll end cold and bloody.
