I went about my day as if Alois was still here. I cooked breakfast, fed it to Ciel, let Claude handle all the personal things, cleaned the mansion, and so on. I went about the day letting my feelings fester and boil. It hurt to breathe. I wanted my master to just end it all right then. Seeing Ciel being tricked, knowing my master won everything, even me, destroyed me. I was a toy that has been chewed up one too many times.
When the sun went down that night, Sebastian returned. He and Claude went at it for a moment, before I came into the picture.
"Oh look, a rat as come to our doorstep. Lovely. Shall I dispose of him my lord?"I asked my master, smiling coldly, despite the pain I was feeling inside my chest.
"Yes of course my dear," my master said, grinning from ear to ear.
He then turned and went inside, leaving me with Sebastian.
"Avril whatever is the-"he began to say, but I didn't let him finish.
I kicked him right in the gut and he flew. I got to where he landed a second after he hit the ground. I leaned against a tree.
"Did you honestly think that after your little show in the cellar, I would let you even come close to my little brother?"I asked coldly.
"What? What ever are you talking about Avril? I have no clue what you are talking about,"Sebastian told me, looking really confused as he stood up and straightened his jacket.
"Don't play dumb with me. You know exactly what you did,"I told him, my hands tightening into fists.
Tears threatened to spill from my eyes and I forced them back.
"Avril, I haven't seen you since...since we made love. What has gotten into you? You act like I hit you or something," he asked me, watching me carefully.
"Would have been kindness if you had. Over what you did down there,"I told him, slight sadness in my voice.
I shook my head and rubbed at my eyes roughly.
'Damn the bloody tears. They need to go away,'
"Avril...I'm sorry but I do not know what you are talking about. What happened down in the cellar?"
I punched him, hitting him square in the job.
"What? That torture wasn't enough? You have to make me relive that? Honestly, all you demons are the same,"I said, shaking my head.
This time the tears fell, and I felt myself shaking. How could he have the nerve? To honestly think that I would tell him...
~*~SEBASTIAN'S POV~*~
Avril was furious with me. I hadn't a clue why. If she was pure demons I'm sure she would radiate demonic energy. Then, when I was supposedly trying to make her retell the events in the cellar, she started crying. Tears fell from her face, no matter how hard she tried to wipe them away, they just kept falling. I felt my eyes widened.
"Avril..." I said softly, reaching forward, attempting to wipe away her tears.
She punched my hand away and backed away from me.
"Go to hell. All of you," she said, her voice shaking.
I thought about what she could have meant. What happened in the cellar? I needed to know.
"Avril what happened in the cellar? Because I don't remember ever going down to the cellar,"I asked
She gave an empty laugh and looked at me coldly. I felt my self shiver because in her blue eyes, she looked like she'd been broken into small pieces, then put together again, but very poorly.
"Fine. I'll humor you with your damned torture. Though you would think that a "whore like myself" wouldn't be worth your time again. You want to know what you did? Honestly?" She asked me, seeming to almost dare me to say yes.
'A whore like myself...'
Where did that come from?
I had a realization. It wasn't me she was talking about. She only thought it was me. I felt a growl escape my lips. Raphael changed his form to look like me. The necklace I gave Avril. Damnit all!
"Tell me what I did down in the cellar, Avril,"I said, keeping my tone of voice even.
"Where to begin? You beat up Claude, though I'm sure he was more than welcome to let you come down there and hurt me, and then came into the cellar and unchained me. You told me you were only saving me because of Ciel's orders. Oh shall I not forget the fact that you treated me so kindly, like you loved me, only to anger my master, and to get me to sleep with you. I sure lived up to my title of a harlot didn't I? Especially after that when you had your way with me. Then you left. Are you happy now? By the way thanks for the ruddy necklace. A poor boy's soul. Thanks for nothing but lies. Now if you don't mind I am going to go protect my younger brother. Or die trying," Avril told me, tears falling down her face.
She turned and tried to walk away. I grabbed her hand and pulled her into a kiss. It didn't last long because she punched me, and I went flying with this punch.
"You really are a sick bastard aren't you? Didn't get enough the last time?" She shouted at me.
I stood up and walk over to her an held her hands still, firmly in mine. I looked her right in the eyes, those sad and broken blue eyes.
"Avril please don't do this. You of all people should have known it was a trick. It was your master. He can take the form of others if he has touched piece of them, like their soul," I explained.
"Lies! Now let me go!"she snapped at me.
Her eyes changed into a their demonic color. I refused to let go through. She wasn't going to get away that easy. I couldn't let her continue to believe I was an enemy. She had to know I loved her. Raphael wasn't going to win this battle. I was determined. I put our heads together.
"Avril this is what my brother does. He takes to form of the one you love, breaks your heart until its nothing but tiny bits, then he leaves. He comes back as himself acting like he has no clue what happened. You have to believe me Avril! I would never do that to you. Please believe me!" I pleaded with her.
Suddenly I saw a light inside her dress, right on her heart, in the shape of a pentagram. She saw it too and looked down at it. She pulled out the necklace I had given her. I looked at her in shock. Most would have thrown that out after an event like that. Yet she still had it. I laughed softly.
"It likes you. Otherwise it wouldn't have glowed. Its mine Avril. After all, what more could I give to the woman who restored it in the first place?" I told her, wiping away a tear that fell.
She looked at me, frowning. She seemed like she wasn't sure who to trust. She held the necklace tightly in her hand, letting it cut into her skin. I pulled her hand loose and gently kissed it, no saliva, nothing more than a gentle kiss.
"Why did you keep the necklace if you were so mad at 'me'"I asked her, curious.
"Because you damned jerk..."she started to say then paused, rubbing roughly at her eyes," I couldn't let you go, even if you hurt me. I still loved you after all that like the damned fool I am," she said sadly, her body shaking slightly.
She gave me a light punch in the face then closed her eyes for a moment. She immediately got paler. She opened her eyes, looking back into mine.
"Go into the garden maze and wait. You'll see. You better protect him with your life Sebastian. Or I'll kill you," she told me, then ran off back to the house.
She didn't trust me completely yet, but enough to let me have a step up in saving her baby brother. I knew I needed to end Claude, Raphael tonight. For what he's done to me and Avril, he will pay. I punched a few trees down then left the place quickly, heading to the maze. And running into the damned red headed reaper along the way.
