All For You

"Hi," Kelly beamed as Vicki and Jade came into the grille alone that evening, meeting Damon and Klaus there. Tonight was the big dinner, the one where Jade planned to confront Klaus and Damon about what they were up to. To most people, the plan would seem suicidal. Anyone that had heard of her father knew better than to go up against him, to confront him in anyway. Given their interactions though, she was hardly afraid of him.

"What are my two favorite daughters up to?" Kelly asked now.

"You don't wanna know," Jade said, glancing around the restaurant.

"No," Kelly said in concern. "I do. What are you..." She trailed off and a fake smile planted itself on her face. "Nik, I should have guessed," she said, shooting her daughter a look.

"Nice to see you too Kelly," Nik smirked back at her. Jade had always wondered what her parents would be like around each other. While she never imagined her dad would be who he was, the tension between the two of them was pretty predictable. "This was our daughter's idea, not mine." He seemed pretty content to remind her that Jade was both of theirs and not just hers.

"K, well I need to go sit at the table before I go sit at the bar," Jade said honestly to end their bickering, heading over to the table in the corner where she saw Damon sitting.

"This was your idea," he reminded her softly as he saw the look on her face as she sat next to him.

"You're about to find out why," Jade said, preparing to be blunt as Klaus came over to sit with the three of them. "I know you two are up to something," she informed Klaus and Damon. Vicki glanced over at her sister being less than subtle. "You're being sketchy," she pointed out to Damon now. "You're...you I guess," she said of Klaus. "I heard you two on the phone, so quit lying to me."

"Well, I guess our secret's out then," Klaus said lightly, looking at Damon who wasn't so amused. "I know you know about the curse that was place on me by your grandmother."

"Uh huh," Jade didn't like where this was going.

"I know your uncle told you what I have to do in order to break it," he continued.

"You're helping him break it?!" Jade immediately snapped at Damon.

"It's a little more complicated than that," Damon said gently, trying to keep her from making a scene.

"Tell that to your brother after you guys kill his girlfriend," Jade quipped sarcastically, getting up from her seat. Her temper was crazy before, but now that she triggered it seemed even more unpredictable. "I'm out of here." She stormed out of the restaurant, without Kelly or Vicki attempting to go after her right now; they both knew better, to let her cool off. There was one person though that didn't quite know that about her yet.

"Jade," Klaus caught her arm.

"No," she shoved him away from her. "Do not touch me." He held up his hands and took a step back. "How the hell could you..." She was at a loss for words. "You blow into my life, you make this plan with my boyfriend to kill all these people, all to help you-"'

"Help you," Klaus cut her off and she made a confused face. "If you would have stayed, you would have heard the rest of my intentions and why Damon was so willing to help me."

"Enlighten me," Jade challenged him, crossing her arms over herself.

"Yes, breaking the curse will allow me to be a hybrid," Klaus admitted. "It will also allow me to turn other werewolves into hybrids. To be immortal and control when they turn." He motioned to her. "You would never have to turn again Jade." He looked her over. "How did that go for you last night?"

"It doesn't matter," Jade said sullenly.

"Yes, it does," Klaus insisted. "I turned once. Now, it was centuries ago, but I remember every painful second of it. And it's nothing that I want you to go through again. I'm your father, Jade. Believe it or not, I love you."

"You don't even know me," Jade uncrossed her arms, throwing her hands in exasperation.

"Don't I?" Klaus countered. "The half sibling that always felt somewhat out of place around the other kids?" She did forget that she and her father had that connection, that he had a different father than the rest of his siblings. He was right, there was always something different, no matter how much she loved Matt and Vicki.

"You and I are more alike than you realize," Klaus continued. "Growing up under a cruel step-father, never knowing your own dad?"

"That doesn't justify you killing three people," Jade stopped him now, not letting the tears that welled up leave her eyes. "Not so we can have some twisted happily ever after."

"You wouldn't have to turn," Klaus insisted. "You can stay with Vicki and Damon. And me," he added on. She looked at him carefully. "What do you think is going to happen in five or ten years when Vicki doesn't look a day over eighteen? Do you think she's going to get to stay here, or Damon for that matter?" Jade still didn't say anything.

"That's not fair," Jade argued.

"What's not fair is how you've been treated, and I'm going to fix all of that," Klaus informed her. "You want to know who I have lined up for this ritual?"

"Stop," Jade nearly begged.

"I found the biggest low life on the planet, one who makes your step-father look like a saint," Klaus continued anyway. "And I turned him into a vampire. I've been sharing my story of turning other hybrids around the werewolf community," he went on. "An older wolf, one that doesn't want his grandchildren to have to turn if they don't want to, volunteered for this."

"And what about Elena?" Jade brought up the elephant in the room. By now, Damon and Vicki had caught up with them, standing off to let them finish. "What about the sweet girl I've known since she was five years old?"

"Do you think I'm going to worry about her fifty years from now when I know I did everything that I could to protect you?" Klaus asked back.

"I can't believe you were a part of this," Jade told Damon, turning to leave for real this time.

"Jade, wait up!" Vicki called, running after her sister.

"Well, that didn't go over well," Damon commented to Klaus as they watched Jade and Vicki leaving together. He did know about Klaus finding the others for the ritual, hoping that would make it look better for Jade. "What's the plan now?"

"The plan continues as we intended," Klaus said like it was obvious.

"So, after that," Damon motioned to where Jade had gone. "You're still going to kill Elena?"

"If it's what I have to do to help my daughter," Klaus said.

"Still with this father of the year stuff," Damon said sarcastically. It couldn't just be for Jade, not given this guy's reputation.

"Right next to the boyfriend of the year that conspired with me," Klaus smirked at him.

"This helps you just as much as it does Jade, and she knows that," Damon pointed out. "That's why she's suspicious."

"Just like it'll help you that she'll live forever once she turns?" Klaus reasoned and Damon didn't say anything. "Guess I'm not the only one not being entirely selfless."

Jade got back to the house, hopping into Matt's truck before taking off again without either of her siblings. Both tried to call her, afraid she was going to do something stupid, most likely going out to get hammered. Instead, she drove out to the edge of town, parking the truck at the top of the hill before climbing into the back, staring up at the sky.

"Thought I'd find you out here," Mason commented, making her jump a little. "Sorry," he apologized, hopping up onto the bed of the truck with her.

"Vicki call you?" Jade asked.

"Matt," Mason corrected her. "They're worried," he reasoned; she was silent. "I told them what we talked about, coming up here to cool off." It was something Mason learned to do to deal with his werewolf gene that set off his anger. Rather than go do something stupid, they would go far out away from everyone to cool off.

"I cannot believe Damon," Jade muttered, laying back in the truck and staring up into the darkness. She felt Mason lay next to her.

"As much as it kills me to say this," Mason half laughed. "He loves you, more than anything. He saw this as a way to get you your dad and keep from turning every month." Jade turned her head to look at him curiously.

"Kills you to say it?" she raised an eye brow.

"You're really the only one that doesn't know," Mason teased her, hinting at his feelings for her. "Look, Jade," he changed the subject. "I would do anything to keep from turning. And, I saw you last night, and that broke my heart even more."

"Even kill Elena?" Jade asked.

"Even give her vampire blood so she comes back good as new?" Mason asked.

"That can't just get put on her," Jade argued. "Everyone's out here deciding what to do with her but not actually talking to her."

"Then, let's go talk to her," Mason offered.

The month to the next full moon passed. They had talked to Elena that night, who really had known what was going on. They didn't know about Damon's involvement, which made Stefan furious, but Damon reasoned that he was going to find a way to save Elena and do this to help Jade. Right now though, their best plan was feeding Elena vampire blood to bring her back; that was something she didn't want. And, while Klaus was being more patient with Jade than he had been with anyone in his entire life, they knew that he wasn't going to just let Elena go because Jade said so.

Damon hadn't been staying at home since it came out that he was working with Klaus, staying with the Donovans instead. That night Jade had gone with Mason, since they were still going to turn regardless. Before they left for the cellar though, Mason handed over some interesting information to the others; he had found a way to save Elena without her turning into a vampire, but it wasn't going to be easy. Knowing what they had to do though, Stefan presented the information to Elena's biological father and he set everything up to save Elena's life.

"So, that's it then?" Jade asked Mason curiously as he locked the door to the cellar. "The ritual goes on, Elena lives, John dies so she can." She hesitated. "My dad can turn me into a hybrid?"

"If you want," Mason nodded.

"I don't know what I want," Jade admitted. "After turning again tonight though, I'm sure I'll change my tune," she said lightly, making Mason smile. Jade jumped at the sound of her ringing phone, not sure who would be calling her right now. Seeing that it was Vicki, she immediately became concerned.

"Vic, what's wrong?" Jade asked worriedly.

"Jade, I'm so sorry," she immediately apologized. "I had no idea, I-"

"What are you talking about?" Jade asked. "Slow down."

"I thought Elijah was just working with Stefan to find a way to save Elena," Vicki continued. "Obviously the ritual was going to happen regardless because your dad is all worried about saving you from turning..."

"I know that, skip to the good part," Jade insisted.

"Elijah is going to kill Klaus," Vicki blurted out and Jade's heart dropped. "He's pissed at his brother for everything over the last zillion years and when the curse is breaking it's when he can kill him. Bonnie's helping. She told Matt earlier thinking he wouldn't tell-"

"I have to go," Jade said.

"What?" Vicki said as Jade hung up on her.

"Jade," Mason tried to stop her.

"No, Mason," Jade snapped back. "They're going to kill my dad, I have to go."

"You're going to turn!" Mason called after her, but she was already out the door. Groaning to himself, Mason ran off after her.

Jade felt the pain jolting through her body as she stumbled down the hill, knowing where the ritual was taking place. There was the witch Klaus was friends with, chanting as the ritual was completed. Stefan was running off with a hopefully saved Elena while the criminal turned vampire and elderly werewolf laid dead. She could see her father walking away from the circle, hearing him say that he could feel the curse breaking.

"AH!" Jade screamed in agony, falling over onto the ground.

"Jade?" Klaus asked in confusion, stumbling over to her as he felt himself turning as well. He could hear Mason trying to run over to them through the woods, but his own transition was taking place. "What's going-" He felt himself being thrown, Bonnie showing up now with Elijah. After everything Klaus was planning to put her friends through, planning to kill Elena without regard to saving her, the Bennett witch was more than happy to help Elijah in killing him.

"Elijah," Klaus said when he saw his older brother coming over. Elijah wasted no time throwing his hand through Klaus's chest, preparing to rip his heart out.

"No!" Jade screeched at him and Elijah looked over to him. "Please don't," she was sobbing; Mason caught up, but was himself laying on the ground, feeling his bones breaking. "I just want to be a family, please," Jade insisted. "AHH!" she was screaming again as she was really starting to turn.

"Don't take me away from her Elijah," Klaus said to his brother. "Give me this, and I will reunite you with our family. I still have them, they're not lost."

"What?" Elijah asked in disbelief.

"I never got rid of them," Klaus insisted. "All of us, we can be together."

"Elijah!" Bonnie called after him, but he had already taken off with his brother. Mason and Jade had turned and run off as well.
