The deadline before the election came drew closer and closer. There was just a little more than two weeks before the elections and the tension were starting to raise. In the street, the peacefulness was gone as citizens were talking more and more about it. It was getting clear that many will participate in the voting. The government was extremely encouraging, as the fate of the future was about to come.
The rest of the wold was also watching this event. The first one that would affect the human's world, and no one would miss it. The news spoke about it everywhere and didn't stop.
As for Gao and his friends, they were preparing themselves for the confrontation against Azi Dahaka and Tenchi, if it would come. Despise that, today wasn't a day to plan a way to save the world. Two days ago, Gao and his buddy managed to save Kiri and Tetsuya was insisting to celebrate it.
"Hello yo!" The boy with banana in his hair said with a cheerful smile while his buddy waved his hands with a small grin.
"Tetsuya, what are you doing here?" Gao asked surprised.
"I came the moment I heard the new yo. Kiri and Joker are finally back to their normal selves and we have to celebrate it," the boy replied as his buddy showed sweets and snacks.
"But-" the blue haired boy wanted to protest.
"No but Kiri. It's something you have to be happy about," Asmodai replied.
"We have to show how happy we are that you are back!" Tetsuya said, before grumbling, "But everyone else was too busy to come today."
The dragons nervously grumbled, knowing that there was a lot of things going on.
"Anyway. We don't always have to be thinking about everything. Sometimes, relaxing helps clear the mind," Asmodai said.
"That's right yo!"
Jackknife grumbled, "I think his mind is too clear," he pointed at the boy.
The boy in question gasped and said nothing.
Joker chuckled, "Looks like his happiness ran cold right here."
His buddy giggled when Asmodai slapped his back, "That's better boy. Come on. We have to be celebrate your return and planned one for Tasuku too."
The green dragon avoided looking at the pink demon who pinched the right chubby cheek of the dragon, "You think we can't save him?"
"N-no!" he grunted when he was pinched a little too hard, "It's just-"
"Never mind! Let's have fun!" the pink demon declared.
In another room, Gao's parents were smiling a little, noticing all too well the mood everyone was in as the elections came closer.
Chapter 132: Surprised Visit Part 1
Despite being reluctant, Gao, his sisters, his friends, their buddies, Jackknife and Tenbu were having fun. Eating the sweets and playing some music's changed the mood. It was usually a more worrisome mood with everything going on, but right now, they were playing more like the children they were, while the buddies entered in the mood too.
Kiri checked the manga's, "So those are the manga's your brother made. He was really skillful."
Gao smiled, "Yes. He was passionate about it. That's why I'm the Mighty Sun Fighter."
"Check out this move!" Testuya said as he showed some of his most complex dances, when anything dangerous was pulled away from his surroundings. It was getting impressive when he could do a backflip with skills and without failing at it and ended up in a split and raising his fingers, "Yo!" He stood up and chuckled, "That took so long to practice, but those moves will be awesome in the dancing competition coming up after the elections."
Asmodai chuckled, "You think you are that good? Let's compare this with myself," the pink demon stood up and took the center of the stage.
The demon started dancing and wasn't hesitating to show his best move, which asked a lot of flexibility and complex angles his body was getting too. He finished his dance and grinned, "And that's how good the master is."
The group applaud his performance while his buddy said, with tears coming out of his eyes, "Why are you outshining me?"
The demon chuckled, seeing all too well that it wasn't a serious act, but just making fun of it, "It's call experience. You'll see when you get as old as me."
"I would already be turn into dust if I was your age," Testuya whined.
Asmodai chuckled, but it was less sincere than before and a bit melancholic, "Obviously. Your kind has a short life span."
The dragons gazed at their buddies. The children were still young, but the thought of them having a short life was unnerving.
The pink demon noticed it and added, "But even so, look at what you did. So much things are far superior than us, just before you have not that much time to screw around like us."
"That's right!" his buddy said as he raised his hand and turned it into a fist, "But I don't care about it!"
Joker stood up and walked near the pink demon, "It is time for me to shine and live up to my name. My turn to entertain you," he put his arms over his chest and gazed at them, "It's time to bring the laugh everyone!"
Drum grumbled and whispered, "It's going to be ice puns. I bet it is."
"Come on Drum but be so cold with me. Ice puns is the best puns you can ever find," he raised his right arm as if he said something poetic and truthful.
He was rewarded by an awkward silence, until Kiri giggled a little, not out of pity, but liked his bad puns.
"Looks like everyone is warming up, but don't warm up too much or I'll melt, and it will be painful," Joker said.
Asmodai smirked and waved his hands, "Sure buddy."
"That's some icy remark you give here," the ice monster said. When Asmodai tried to stand up, "Freeze!"
"Sorry, but I don't like to be frozen well," the pink demon replied.
"Then I shall freeze," the frozen monster replied before he stopped moving.
Kiri giggled for a few seconds, until they've noticed that Joker still hadn't move yet. He was literally frozen in place.
That worried them a little when Asmodai poked the monster, "You're okay there?"
The monster felt on the ground and wasn't moving yet. However, one of his red eye diminished a second to his buddy.
His buddy was giggling once again, getting a clue at what was going on after his buddy winked at him.
Before they tried anything, someone knocked at the door.
"Who is it?" Gao wondered as he stood up and went to open the door, only to see his father reaching it first.
The man opened the door and on the other side, saw a red dragon he didn't see for a long time, "Welcome in our house mister."
"Thank you. It's a pleasure to see you again," the voice replied.
In the living room, Drum recognised the voice and lightly paled, father! Why did he come here? Is there a problem? He turned around and saw in father, still in his real form, "H-hello dad!" he corrected his voice, "Hi dad. What are you doing here?"
The XIII frowned and made his son gulped. Meanwhile, Halberd and Jackknife avoided gazing in the eyes of the ruler of Dragon World, knowing too well of their exile, a subject they wouldn't want to talk about.
Tenbu approached the red dragon and said, "Welcome Fang Slade Terrestrial The XIII. It's a please to receive you right now, even if it wasn't expected."
Drum's father raised his left eyebrow as he looked at the older dragon, before lightly smiling, "Thank you. I know I came uninvited, but it's difficult to call anyone on this world and tell everyone that I am coming for a visit."
"That's your daddy hum Drum?" Asmodai asked as he pocked the left cheek of the dragon in question.
"Don't do that!" that dragon yelled at the pink demon, before quickly turning to his father and scratching the back of his head, "You- didn't an-" his dad snapped his shout with a finger. The young dragon rolled on the ground and whined.
"Is that how you welcome your father?" he asked with severity.
The red dragon realised his mistake and tried to rectify it, before was snapped at the same place with the same result.
The XIII gazed at the other's who awkwardly and fearfully gazed at him, "There is no need to worry. Dragon's discipline had to be made sometimes," he gazed at his son, "Because I think he lacked some while being on Earth."
"It's wonders that this relationship doesn't stand on the cold side of things," the Joker replied as he sat by the side of his buddy, ceasing to be frozen in place.
The XIII noticed Jackknife and sniffed the air, "Where is your buddy? With everything that happened last time we've met, I thought he would be with you."
That struck hard at the green dragon who looked down.
Drum's father asked, "What happened? I sure feel strongly left out since everything The Punisher told me after his duel against Azi Dahaka, but you were together back then."
Everyone explained everything that happened and what Azi Dahaka was planning during the elections.
Fang Slade Terrestrial The XIII scratched his jaw and sighed, "Alas, I cannot intervene in the affairs of your world or any other worlds. That darkness dragon knows how to act within the legal system. You are on your own. As for Tsukikage, if he would be executed in your world, Katana World is going to ask for a retribution, as the execution will be illegal."
"Come on gramps. We are trying to lighten up the moods and you have to drag us down," Asmodai said with a grin.
The next second, the pink demon was knocked out on the ground, "Who are you calling a gramps?"
"S-sorry," came the reply.
The older dragon was satisfied by the answer and looked at everyone, "Although. You are right. You shouldn't get beat down when you saved your friends," those words came after he literally did that to Asmodai, "One victory always leads to others, as long as your spirit shines," he sat on the ground, "I'll help myself a little."
He started eating the sweets while his son wondered, why did he suddenly come here? It's not about Azi Dahaka. Why did he come? Is there something I didn't do? It's obviously about me.
"Son," he started.
"Yes dad!" he gasped.
"I was wondering if you made some progress?" The XIII started without giving any specifics.
Progress on what? My fighting skills? Is he talking about that? He gazed at Tenbu and Halberd if they got any clues. They both raised their shoulders, that doesn't help! "Of course. I am managing well on Earth and I train with Halberd and Tenbu. I cannot stay the way I am if I want to defeat Azi Dahaka."
His father frowned.
Wrong answer! What is it then? The question remained in his mind. It was troubling him to no end.
The XIII gazed at Gao and asked, "How many forms did my son took?"
The red dragon got it, why didn't you ask me that question that way dad?
"Many," he named them all and how he fought in those forms. Gao had a small smile as he talked about his friend, which made the dragon in question glad that he was praising him, so his father will be a little less pissed off, "And when we saved Kiri, he fought in the form of the Purgatory Knight."
The XIII eyes lightly expanded, surprised, but managing to hide it well, except from the eyes of Tenbu who noticed the changes. The green dragon with pink mustaches reprised his smile at how Drum really progressed. Even the old dragon wasn't expecting Drum to take the form coming from the Darkness Dragon World, I'm proud of you Drum. The old dragon thought as he played with his mustaches.
The older red dragon asked, "What about hero world?"
That question took his son off-guard as he struggled to find a satisfactory answer, "I didn't take the form yet."
"And the card?"
Gao showed it out of his deck, while Kiri asked, "What's that about?"
"Drum couldn't take the form of the Hero World before, as he has some contradictory belief," Halberd replied, knowing it was because of his hatred of Darkness Dragon World.
The XIII saw that the card was still blank, "Still nothing in it," he gazed at his son and said, "Nevertheless. I wasn't expecting that card to change," he admitted. He took a step forward and grumbled, "But with Azi Dahaka's plan, I guess we have a few things to begin earlier than I wanted," he let out a small grin.
Liar, Drum thought.
"What is this thing?" Gao asked.
"Son. I am going to put you to a test," he cracked his fingers, which made the younger red dragon nervously gulped, "Show me how much you've progressed."
That demand made Drum wondered if it was a good idea, and why his father wanted him to fight right now. It was probably him getting in small pieces in the end of the fight. He called all the courage he had and replied, "Y-yes dad."
The XIII showed up a card and gave it to his son's buddy, "Use this spell card and during the fight, try and not butt in."
The boy recognised the one he used with Tasuku during the duel between Azi Dahaka and The Punisher. That brought memories, that were good, but with the actual context bad and intimidating. He prepared to use it when Testuya said, "You'll need my help yo."
"Thanks."
They used the spell card and were once again in the Colosseum for the duel. They looked around them while the two kids focused on the spell. Everyone, except the two dragons, walked outside the arena where father and son would fight. It was a duel and the
"Son. Show me what you can do and don't hold back. Because I won't," The XIII said.
Drum heard his death sentence. He could already see himself completely deformed and his face broken by his father's punches and kicks. He was shivering as he took place, readied his drill, looking into the eyes of his father. He saw no mercy waiting for him, Good-bye cruel world. I should have written my will, he thought.
Gao, his friends and his family watched the two dragons preparing for the duel. As they flexed their body, Tenbu scratched his beard and said, "Drum isn't really believing in his victory."
"If Fang Slade Terrestrial The XIII can scare Asmodai, I think Drum's right to be scared a little yo," Tetsuya replied.
The pink demon frowned and grumbled, "I wasn't scared buddy. I was just trying to avoid trouble," before grabbing one banana from his buddy's hair and eating it.
"Do you know anything about Drum's father Joker?" Kiri asked.
His buddy raised his shoulder and grumbled, "The trail is cold for me."
Gao grew worried for his buddy as he remembered about him. He never saw Drum's father fight, but his buddy told him that he defeated The Punisher and many dragons who stood again him, to become the ruler of Dragon World.
Halberd talked, "I saw him fight once. I can immediately say that he is powerful. You remember that he took control of Dragon World by fighting anyone who stood against him right?" he looked at Gao who nodded, "Then he has many reasons to be worried," he crossed his arms and added, with a worried tone, "But Drum is already seeing his defeat. He doesn't believe he can win. That means only one thing."
They saw the father charging and giving one powerful punch. What followed was Drum's scream, a cartoony and overexaggerated screamed before crashing against the wall.
"Drum!" Gao yelled as he stood up.
Suzumi put her hand on his shoulder and said, "He can't hear you."
Her husband added, "This is like when you mom tested you."
The boy had a few flashbacks when his mother did a few technics on him when she taught him. He nervously chuckled, "I managed to forget that part."
Meanwhile, Drum stood up and had a large bump on his forehead. He scratched his face and gazed at his father, coming at him. He gasped and jumped out of the way at the last second. The XIII fist entered in the wall and created a large crack. My skull almost exploded! I'm so dead! I am dead!
"Son. I told you that I'm fighting seriously now, so you better take me seriously," his father said as his muscles hardened.
I am! The younger dragon saw his life coming back in his own eyes, which were every time his father beaten him, why is only the worse one coming to me? He whined as his father charged.
He ducked and rolled on the ground. Didn't have a second to relax when he avoided being crushed under the red foot targeting his chest. He jumped back and avoided another fist coming at him. He panted nervously, wondering how he could survive his father and not lose that badly. He was punched again and sent against the wall, screaming painfully once again. He coughed at gazed at his father.
He was rewarded with something horrible, disappointment. What am I doing wrong? I can't beat dad anyway!
Tenbu crossed his arms and was getting nervous. He would usually try to charm any female, Suzumi being the only one as Hanako wasn't an adult, but he forgot all about that. Right now, his attention was fully on the red dragon who he taught how to control himself. He realised one small mistake he made, I focalise on not getting enrage in a fight, but right now there is something else. He nervously sweated. This fight was one-sided, but, you saw it that way before the fight even began. I must do something. He took a deep breath and yelled, "Drum! What are you doing? Fight back! Fight back!"
The red dragon heard those words, how do you want me to fight back?
"Just fight back!" Gao assisted Tenbu.
"You fought to free me Drum and succeed!" Kiri said.
"Like what he said!" Joker added,
Not helping, Drum thought about the ice monster comment.
"It's only the beginning!" Suzumi yelled as she stood up, "That fight isn't over Drum and you better remember it! Or never more pudding!"
The red dragon gasped and stood up, no more… pudding? No way! I can't let that happen! He looked at his father. He clenched his hands and stood ready, For pudding!
The XIII internally grinned as he prepared to continue the fight.
